//-------------------------------------------------------// Colsty's Adventures -by Misty Wisty- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 The sun was setting over the land of Equestria. A lonely adventurer by the name of Colsty would roam these lands for a sense of adventure and discovery! However, it wasn't the safest of hobbies to do out there in the wild. Some of the worst parts of the Equestria would consist of bandits and anyone that would want to get the upper hoof on an unsuspecting passer-by. Colsty had found a nice and quite spot wedged in between some trees and a rock overhang, this was perfect for his liking since he didn't want to wake up to all of his possessions gone. Settled his saddlebags down on some rocks he laid his head back against the stone wall behind him which made his purple mane ruffle up and become messy. It was a nice and quite night but soon it wasn't, night time in Equestria were as cold as his mothers stare whenever he would steal a sweet roll from the pantry. A little later after gazing up at the starry night sky he got up and went to go and collect some sticks, leaves and a small tree to use as firewood for the night. He would do this on many occasion out in the wild by himself, it gave him the sense and feeling of survival he seemed to always crave as a young colt. Moving some rocks to form a circle in the middle of the overhang he laid down the sticks and leaves into the circle. He sat back and closed his eyes and started to think of home and the warmth he would feel from the fireplace as he would sit next to it while covered in a blanket and eating pudding. He gout out a little bow and a stick and a bark carving from his saddle bags and set it in front of him. Placing some of the leaves from the fireplace onto the bark he started to rub the stick with the bow as hard and quick as possible for him. It took him a couple of try's but soon got a bit of smoke and soon some fire, placing the bark into the fireplace he watched as it soon went alight. He slumped over in his small victory. Sitting back up he smiled at his creation of fire, for him it was a big deal and a massive achievement for him but for any other pony it would be a cape walk. Since he wasn't the strongest of earth ponies. The thought of being week would haunt him whenever he fails something that required physical activity. "But really who cares about those stupid wing beaters and those witches. I have my strength." He thought to himself while padding down his spiky yellow mane, it would sometimes do this when he would be angry, or upset. Just as he was about to put some of the logs into the fire he heard a crack, it wasn't a crack from the little fire. It wasn't nearly big enough to start cracking at the moment. Colsty got to his hoofs and made sure he had his trusty iron axe on his tool belt, the tool belt had a small array of handy tools but his axe was the most used. Peeking his head out from around the corner of the overhang he spotted a light off in the distance, this was very unsettling for him since he had never actually been around others when out in the wilds like this but what he could make out there were a group of three ponies all in fur outfits. He was pleasantly relieved at the sight of what they were wearing, most hunters would wear fur to keep them warm and camouflaged throughout their adventures. He had the bright idea to go and follow them and see where they were going, he didn;t have to trot for too long before he saw the trio go into a cave. "Must be where they keep their food" Colsty was sick of eating the same old fish day in and day out. He liked to fish (when he would catch them) and would sometimes hunt as well. Sneaking up onto the cave his ears perked up as he heard voices within. "Did you hear about those damn pegifuckers saying they have no control over the weather? They are lying through their fucking teeth!" it sounded female "Yeah, it sucks so much, it was bad enough we had to deal with that mercenary group and now we have to deal with the sky as well, I don't want to have one of those things swoop down and stab me while I'm going somewhere, because apparently, it happened" As Colsty continued to listen on to their conversation he heard a crack from a fire and a voice of another. "Percy and his blades for hire don't have jack on us, they don't even know we are out here and not in some forest near PonyVile." the three of them all started to laugh at the remark. It was soon clear to Colsty that these weren't hunters these were ponies that were being hunted themselves, his heart skipped a beat as he was backing away from the cave he stepped on a pine cone which made a loud CRUNCH sound. The laughter coming from inside the cave suddenly stopped and was replaced by the sound of a sword being unsheathed and the sound of them getting up. Something passed over Colsty's mind and thought maybe they weren't looking for a fight and were just normal, maybe they were just like him trying to survive out in these harsh lands and just have some beef with a pony named Percy. He turned his head back towards the cave entrance. He was greeted to three ponies standing up and having weapons in their mouths ranging from a great sword, a broadsword, and a dagger. A mare wields the dagger in her mouth, she was an ocean blue with a gray mane. but her face was a little different. It had been mutilated in a way. It looked if she had a marking on her forehead, It was spine chilling, to say the least for Colsty The one with the great sword was at the back, he looked like the leader. His mane was a jet black and his coat a dark orange, he was the better looking one out of the three of them by far since he didn;t have any of the. 'facial features' as the others did. Since the other male which had the broadsword was a red-coated and gray mane stallion and had the same thing done to his forehead just like the mare. "Um I'll just be going now, I didn't mean to c-cause any trouble" The one with the dagger started to trot towards him in a powerwalk. The one with the broad sword in his mouth spoke through the grip "How much did you hear?" Colsty wasn't a good liar, and not even close to a novice. "Oh um I was j-just passing by, all I heard was you lot laughing." You could taste the lies. The stallion with the broadsword turned to the leader of the group "He is lying, he is a spy for Percy! If we let him go he will just go and tell him where we are and then we will end up just like Grace. The pony in the back thought for a moment. Colsty by this point had started to back away but not at the pace, the mare was coming at him, in fear he drew the axe out of his belt and took it into his mouth. The stallion in the back grunted "Big mistake buddy!" This was like a dog call for the mare because she was now running towards him and swiftly closing the gap. Colsty was turning around but fell backward thanks to his instinct that was caused by the sudden lethality of the situation, landing on his back his eyes were widened at the sight of the war lunging at him. He closed his eyes thinking that this would be the end. He felt the mare land on him and the sound of flesh being ripped apart by a blade, but yet he felt nothing. He opened his eyes to wonder if he had gone to heaven yet, to his horror he had found something worse. When the mare jumped onto him she jumped so fast she didn't have time to correct herself once he had fallen down and had landed on the blade of his axe and had landed head first on it, splitting her skull open with a large wound. Blood started to gush out of the wound and over the axe and onto Colsty face, he was face to face with the mare that had just tried to kill him. her lifeless eyes stared into his, it felt like an eternity before he pulled the axe out of the dead mare's skull and started to get to his hoofs. But before he knew it he felt something blunt hit him on the side of the belly and left a large graze on there. But with the power of the blow he rolled out of the cave and into the grass. All the while grunting in agony. He knew he had to get up, he knew that this was a situation he had trained for but never actually thought it would ever happen. He got to his hoofs and saw the stallion with the broad sword running towards him and behind him the stallion with the great sword trying to see if the mare was still alive. Blood trickled out of Colsty's wound as he got ready for the fight that would ultimately decide whether he died or lived. The opposing stallion stood a little bit away from him and waited "You killed my sister!" the stallion grunted in anger at Colsty "L-Listen it was a mistake I'm sorry!" He tried to reason with him but that wasn't going to do much good since the enraged sisterless stallion swung the sword at Colsty. He had just lifted his head up in time for the blade of his blood-covered axe to stop the sword from causing any more damage to him, this continued, again and again, deflect after deflect. the Stallion had lost all sense apart from the anger that boiled inside him and the desire to kill Colsty. This wasn;t going in Colsty's favor, so with the next swing of the sword he swung his axe at the sword and made a loud 'Twang' since the sword was so blunt it left a dent in the damn thing from all the pressure and sent it flying to the ground. "D-Don't pick it up, I'm warning you!" Colsty warned but as before reasoning wasn;t an option now, the stallion reached for his sword but was soon stopped to an axe in his back. Colsty stumbled back as he saw the stallion screaming out in agony as front legs went out because the axe had hit his spine and sliced right through it. The stallion at the entrance of the cave stared down Colsty "Either they were dumb or you are just trained well, but I'm not going to let some young punk kid kill my friends and get away with it. Don't worry I'm going to make this quick" He trotted towards Colsty, but he had a more calm and collected look on his face then the other two. Colsty Quickly ran over to the now lifeless body of the stallion that had Colsty's axe in his back. He bit down around the handle and yanked it out of the stallion's back, it was covered in a crimson red blood from the two he had killed. By the time Colsty was able to get the axe out of the stallions back he was confronted by the leader of the group and a greatsword barreling down on him, he was lucky to get the blade of the axe to hit the sword but he wasn't even close to being ready. Now this time it was his weapon that was being flung out of his grip, but in pieces thanks to the sword's blow. He was stunned and in awe at what just happen, he turned to face the stallion try and reason with him but was met with the sword striking his already bleeding side. From the instant amount of pain, he fell to his side and screamed out for help. His vision got blurry as he saw the stallion standing over him raise his sword for the finishing blow but from the distance, he heard a yell and soon saw the pony in front of him fall to the ground, he had been shot by an arrow. That was all that Colsty could process before everything faded to black.
