Duelist In Equestria

(Bogotá City, 8:47 P.M, near the Simon Bolivar Park)

The rain fell steadily, drops spilled heavily over the concrete, the dark of the night interrupted by the constant flashing lights of emergency vehicles and the remains of a motorcycle with a few cards and a deck scattered over the pavement, on the ground, facing the sky without actually seeing a figure was lying there, shredded clothes and a backpack not far from the accident, however, this is the beginning of our history, our hero, he was destined to end its cycle in this world.

Canterlot, Equestria 8:48 P.M

In a parallel universe, the night is clear, the moon and the stars cast their soft light over the houses, however, a sudden burst of sound and color interrupted the serene darkness, a couple of hooded figures trying to flee a second group, their armor reflecting the pale light with every movement.

"Why’d we have to steal from THAT house? Lucky, we aren’t common thieves, because of this; we have a whole night-watch on our heels" One of the figures, obviously female with how feminine her voice sounds, was whining while running and jumping over rooftops, dodging several arrows that their pursuers were shooting in their direction.

"Because now we have one of the most powerful cards in the game! Wicka, more than deny it, but right now we are thieves. Besides, the old coot wouldn’t miss his super-rare card, and we’ll give it a better purpose then have it in a glass-case in lock and key." The other hooded figure, a black stallion, was answering, his voice clear in the howling wind and the hiss of arrows over their heads.

"I call upon the Noble Knight, Borz!," One guards shouted, his voice shows authority that he has on the squad of warriors, the two thieves stopped suddenly when a figure dressed in metal, with a chalice in his hands, suddenly appeared in front of them.

"So, is this how we will settle this gentlemans, with a duel?"

"You two are under arrest on behalf of her serenity and highness, Princess Celestia. Your charges are burglary and entering private property," the Soldier who has a duel disk on his left arm said. "However, as apparently one of you is a duelist, if he wins this duel, he could leave without being arrested."

"And what guarantees we have, Metal Head, that you keep your word?" The women spat, taking off her coat to reveal a pegasus mare with a bandaged wing.

"I can guarantee this," Third voice interrupted. A mare with both horn and wing her coat of a dark blue, and her ethereal mane waving in an unexisted wind. Both sides were stunned, seeing an alicorn appear in view and her claim.

"Princess Luna!" The thief said.

However, before any more can continue, a distant and strange light projected over the dreaded Everfree Forest near the outskirts of Ponyville, attract the attention of the princess and her guards. Taking the opportunity, the burglars jumped at ground level and disappeared into the night, however the princess and the guards did not pay more attention to the retreating rogues, too distracted by the strange phenomenon.

“By Faust; what was that!” Bellowed the night princess, looking away, concern plastered on her face, before frowning, turning around, she addressed the now distracted guards, pointing to the retreating thieves.

“I want those two apprehended for thievery, please see to it!”

Everfree forest, 9:25 P.M.

Twilight Sparkle, Princess of friendship, a former disciple of Princess Celestia and current Element Bearer of Magic, was in a good and bad mood right now, after being awakened by an urgent letter from her former mentor, the young librarian had to go look for her friends, and armed with flashlights and their respective decks, venture off to the untamed forest known as, Everfree Forest.

Searching for an strange and unexpected source of light that was seen near Mount Canter which is near the base of city of Canterlot, the capital of Equestria and seat of power of the diarchic sisters; Celestia and Luna; was located.

"Remind me again why we have to be out here, exposing ourselves to dangers around wild animals; only to seek a 'towering light in the sky,' in the middle of the night," One of Twilights friends; Rainbow Dash said. Suppressing an incoming yawn for having been awakened at this late hour. "also, why not Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack with us; hmm?" The athlete continued her monologue; and questioned on why their other friends aren’t here.

"Rainbow, as I said before. I received a letter from Prin-Celestia a few moments ago about a strange light happening over Mount Canter. I know it's a strange time, but Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy have jobs and occupations in the morning. Besides, wasn’t it you who told us that you had nothing else to do since there was no weather patrol tomorrow?" The purple mare replied, raising an eyebrow and smirk at the now sheepish look on the athlete face.

Any further discussion was interrupted by a gasp of surprise from Pinkie Pie; the always cheerful party extraordinaire and friends of Twilight.

"Girls, Girls come QUICK!" The party animal exclaimed, pointing forward. "Look, there is someone on the ground." When they approach, the three friends could see a stallion, lying on the ground.

However, when they saw the state he was in, his torn, bloodied clothes, and a huge motorcycle apparently destroyed against a tree. But the most strangest thing on the scene were the cards scattered on the site, many of which had apparently combined the typical orange and green colored frames of the duel monster’s franchise.

Pinkie approached the unconscious stallion, and lifting him with care, and Rainbow pick up and drag his demolished motorcycle. Twilight bent down over, reaching one of them two colored frames. Curiosity peek her interest, examining over it in her poor lit lantern, while her friends began trekking back home.

"Odd-eyes Pendulum Dragon" The girl whispered. "I’m not familiarized with this index card.. More-or-less, I had never seen this kind of Monsters in the game!" Purple librarian squeak softly in awe, amazed with the weird card in her hands. After a moment of complete mesmerized intrigue, she shook herself out of her trance and gathered all the cards that were scattered over the tiny glades floor, she ran after her friends, but glance back; making sure that she didn’t forgot anything. The colt, what has happen to him? What is with these cards? She was thinking about the strange cards that she now had in her hands, a foreboding feeling running through her mind.

Was this stranger related with the light, what in the world are this strange cards, and what about the motorcycle? A myriad other questions plagued the librarian’s head, she snap out of her thoughts and ran over to her friends.

But this, my friends, is a story for another occasion.
