I- I- I- I've Got A Migraine!
“Twilight? Twilight, wake up!” Spike cried as he annoyingly poked Twilight in the side.
“Spike, shut up!” she groaned as she rolled over and buried her face in her pillow. “Owww… My head…”
“Twilight, it’s already half past ten! You’re going to be late for that lunch with Rarity,” Spike grumbled. “I’d rather be at that lunch.”
“Alright, I’m getting up!” Twilight shouted into her pillow, so it sounded more like a muffled whine. She thrust her blankets off of her and fell to the floor in a heap. “Gah!”
“Twilight, are you okay?” Spike asked, now worried about Twilight. “You don’t look so good.”
“I’m as fine as ever, okay!?” Twilight cried. Her hair was almost always perfect, but today it began to frizz and become spastic and kept looking more and more disheveled the more Spike watched.
“Are you su-”
“Yes! Now go!” Twilight shouted, and Spike widened his eyes before slowly backing away.
“Alright, Twi. I’ll just come back when…” he glanced to the door behind him, “Uhm, bye!” And he bolted.
Twilight put a hoof to her temple and gentle massaged it in a fruitless attempt to lessen her intense headache, what she now expected was a migraine. She blearily tried to push past the pain to recall what Spike had said before widening her eyes and wincing.
“Oh no! A lunch with Rarity?! I can’t be late!” she uttered in horror. She then charged up her horn in an attempt to teleport but gasped when a sharp pain strikes through her head. “Ahhhhh!” she shouts as she falls to the floor holding her head in her hooves. Laying there on the ground for a bit, she gingerly touched her horn before sighing deeply and shakily picking herself up.
“Walki- ing!” she bit her tongue as her head throbbed painfully. “Walking it is then.”
She tried not to show her pain as she slowly shambled out of the castle.
It was going to be a long day.
“Twilight, darling, your looking a bit under the weather today,” Rarity remarked worriedly. Twilight didn’t notice as Rarity glanced to her frazzled mane and tail. “And by a bit, I mean alot.”
“No kidding,” Twilight groaned as she set her head on the table they were eating at and put her hooves over her head. “I have a migraine and it’s really annoy-” she yelped as another spike of torture lanced through her brain, “Annoying!”
“Oh dear, that sounds absolutely dreadful!” exclaimed. “Perhaps, after this meal, we may head over to the spa? I’m sure they have some treatments for a headache like yours.”
“It’s not a headache, it’s a migraine!” Twilight groaned. “At least it’s Friday. Sunday would’ve been the worst day for a migraine. They just always seem so dismal, and something bad happens every week on that day! It makes no-” she cried and banged her head on the table as her brain jolted in pain, attracting some heads from other tables. “It makes no sense,” Twilight whispered, her eyes now closed in grim contemplation. “I feel like death would be better than this migraine in my head.”
“Now don’t say things like that, Twilight,” Rarity chided, “It’s very unlike you.” She looked around in worry as the waiter came around to deliver their food, with Twilight looking pathetic on the table in front of them. As the food levitated near them, Rarity sheepishly smiled at the waiter, who looked indifferently at them.
“May we have this to go, please?” Rarity asked. The waiter nodded and immediately produced some doggie bags. Rarity looked at them with disdain, but nodded. “Alright then. Twilight, let's see to the spa. Maybe Aloe can help us, hm?”
Twilight whined and Rarity nudged her with some magic. “Let’s go!”
“Ugghhhh!”
“You’re pathetic, Twilight. You know that? Pathetic.”
“Tell me something I don’t know,” Twilight said faceplanting into the table a few times before almost literally being dragged by Rarity.
“You need help.”
“Yep.”
They made the short trip to the spa and Twilight soon found herself in the massaging grace of Lotus Blossom and Aloe.
“Ah, that definitely helps,” Twilight moaned as they worked on her head.
“Thank you mares for taking us in on such short notice, Twilight here was having a particularly terrible migraine,” Rarity gratefully thanked for the both of them.
“Anything for a dedicated customer like you, Rarity. Besides, it’s the least we can do for saving Equestria for the nth time last Sunday,” Aloe remarked as she applied some lotion to Rarity’s back.
“Oh yes, the Crusaders were particularly repentant after having released that Kraken from Tartarus. I only hope the colt they were trying to get a monster-hunting cutie mark for is alright.”
Twilight laughed lightly at the words. “Sweetie Belle especially, as she was the one to unlock that gateway to the Cess-pool. We really should put a better security than just a three headed dog.”
Before Twilight could list off a million more things wrong with Tartarus, Rarity stopped her. “Now’s not the time for lists and things, Twilight. We’re at a spa, so relax!”
Twilight sighed as another crackle of lightning in her head was stopped by the soothing motions of Lotus’ hooves.
Unfortunately for the both of them, Rainbow had come into the spa at that exact moment.
Upon seeing Twilight and Rarity, she ducked behind potted plant, afraid for her appearance to be tarnished in front of them. Too bad she had already been seen countless times entering the place. Quickly zipping back to pull a marker from the reception area, she uncapped and grinned evily, nearing her two best friends. Best friends soon no longer…
Lotus and Aloe spotted Rainbow Dash coming but they couldn’t help but giggle themselves as Rainbow motioned what she was going to do. As the marker was wash-clean, it was harmless, but they all knew neither would forgive her anyway. Taking over control from Lotus, she carefully drew something on Twilight’s face while massaging her head.
“Wow, Lotus! That’s the perfect amount pressure,” Twilight sighed as Rainbow silently snickered. Lotus then took back her position and Rainbow rushed to Rarity. She then drew over Rarity’s cutie mark and mussed up her mane and tail before quickly flying backwards and couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“Bwahahaha! Look at your face Twilight! Hahahaha! Rarity, hahaha!” Rainbow bellowed, now rolling on the floor a short distance away from the two spa ponies and former Element Bearers.
Rarity had already felt something wrong but as soon as she heard Rainbow’s laugh she tumbled out of her spa chair and gasped in horror at her ruined coiffure. “My mane! My tail! And… and…” She widened her eyes and then narrowed them in anger as she saw the crossed out gems and the smiley face placed on her flanks. “My cutie mark!”
Twilight, upon hearing all of this, cracked an eye open and immediately regretted it as the light hurt her eyes and only worsened her healing head. Slowly, she groaned and opened her eyes before seeing herself in a conveniently placed mirror in front of her. With Aloe and Lotus nowhere to be found, she saw Rainbow’s laughing form on the ground before she winced in pain and confusion at her face.
She had a drawn on monocle and mustache.
“RAINBOW!” Twilight raged as her mind shattered from anguish.
“Wu-oh!” Rainbow cried as she tried to escape through a skylight. Suddenly, all exits were shut with blue magic and Rainbow slammed into the window face-first before plummeting to the ground and crying out in surprise.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Rarity smiled crazily at Rainbow and Rainbow quickly backpedaled on her haunches.
“R-Rarity! Heyyyy, what’s up? I see you did something to y-your-” she gulped as she laughed nervously, “-to your mane!”
“You’re not getting away, that easy, Rainbow,” Twilight said to her left, and Rainbow shouted in surprise. Twilight had a maniacal grin and her head was twitching oddly.
“Wah!” Rainbow said as she backpedaled faster and slammed into a wall behind her.
Rarity and Twilight then closed in on Rainbow’s fearful form as Rainbow shielded herself with her hooves. “I’m sorry?” Rainbow whispered. “It was just a joke!”
“One you will regret!” Twilight laughed insanely before Rainbow felt her eyes droop and she fell unconscious.
The next thing Rainbow knew, she was tied to a post and found a multitude of ponies laughing at her trapped form. Shaking her head around to see where Rarity went and where Twilight was, she caught a glimpse of what she was wearing and widened her eyes in shock and terror.
“No!” she yelled as she realized she was wearing a brilliantly pink monstrosity of a dress (it actually complimented her form quite nicely!) and she screamed. “Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!”
In reality,Twilight was subjecting Rainbow to an illusory fantasy while Rarity fashioned a real dress for the occupied mare.
“For this, one thousand years of fashion!” Rarity exclaimed with unbridled energy.
“This so I’m not the only waging my wars behind my face and above my throat!” Twilight twitched and cried out in laughter and pain as she mercilessly subjected Rainbow to her worst nightmares.
