She opened the door and saw him sitting on his bed with his arms crossed and his eyes tearing up. "I heard you and my friends talk about all that stuff about me.", he said. "Is that what you and my friends think of me?" Starlight widen her eyes. "You heard us out there?", she asked. "What were we talking about?" "I'm too small to decorate things, is that how you and my other friends think about me?", Spike said. "Why would you and my friends say that about me?" He gets offended easily when his friends talk about what he can't do or what his size is. "Spike, this isn't what you think.", Starlight said. "What we said about you wasn't an insult." "Of course it was, you and my friends were making fun of me.", Spike said. "It hurts my feelings if ponies say I have tiny feet." "We weren't making fun of you, we were just being honest about you.", Starlight said. "It feels like you guys aren't my rightful family.", Spike said. "We are your family.", Starlight said. "No you guys are not.", Spike said. "I don't appreciate you and my friends talking about I can't do anything." He sped walked out his bedroom door. Starlight tried to make him feel better, but, he wasn't listening. "Spike, please!", she said. Spike sped through his friends. "Whoa, what in the world?", Twilight asked. He went over to the front door, stepped out, and slammed the door. "Spike.", Twilight said. Starlight saw how confused her friends are. She wanted to tell them, but, she didn't dare to answer at all.

She was wearing a scarf around her neck and snow boots on her hooves. "What beautiful snowy weather for Hearth's Warming.", she said happily. She stopped and saw Spike and his sad face on a bench. She walked up to him and spoke. "Um... hi, Spike." Spike looked up and saw the young yellow pony staring at him. "Oh, hi, Apple Bloom.", he said. The little filly walked up to the bench and sat down next to him. "What's wrong?", she asked. Spike sighed. "Well, my friends won't let me help them decorate the castle for the party tonight at the castle and they were talking about how I can't reach higher things.", he said. "I know how you feel.", Apple Bloom said. "Sometimes my family won't let me decorate Sweet Apple Acres for anything, but, I'm over it." "Well, I'm not.", Spike said. "I feel like their not my rightful family." "I hope they feel bad about how they treated you.", Apple Bloom said. "I hope so, but, lets face it, they don't seem to need me.", Spike said sadly. "See you, Apple Bloom." He got off the bench. "Bye, Spike.", Apple Bloom said. She watched the dragon walk off into the distance. Spike didn't tell her where he's going, she got concerned about poor Spike. "Should somepony tell his friends about this?"
Together At LastView OnlineSpike's Rightful Family for Hearth's WarmingTogether At LastSpike and Discord walked out of the Everfree Forest. Spike's friends were really happy to see him. "Spike!", they all said. "Girls, you aren't mad at me?", Spike asked. "Of course we ain't mad at you.", Applejack said. "Starlight told us that you heard what we said about you.", Fluttershy said. "I thought she would tell you what happened.", Spike said sadly. He sniffed as a tear ran down his left eye. "I'm so sorry." "Spike, don't blame yourself, we were all so worried about you.", Twilight said. "And we're sorry we hurt your feelings." Spike wiped a tear from his face. "I forgive you all.", he said. "And I'm sorry, Starlight, for not listening to you and I ran out of the castle and not telling you all why. I love you girls so much." His friends came over to him and hugged him tightly. "And we're sorry we didn't let you decorate with us.", Pinkie said. "Maybe, after the party, you can help us put away the decorations." "Sounds good.", Spike said. "And, did Apple Bloom talk to you about what we talked about earlier when we saw each other at the bench?" "Yes.", Applejack said. "And she's expecting you back." Spike grinned and blushed. "Yeah, I thought she would expect me back." "So, you ready to go back?", Twilight asked. "Yes.", Spike said.
Rescuing SpikeView OnlineSpike's Rightful Family for Hearth's WarmingRescuing SpikeSpike was picking pedals off a flower, laying down on his back in the snow. He picked off every pedal if his friends love him or not. "They love me, they love me not, they love me... Oh, who am I kidding, they don't love me.", he said. Then, suddenly, there was a growling from a hungry manticore crawling behind him. Spike turned and gasped. "Oh, hello, was this your snow bank?", he asked. "I hope it wasn't because I feel like I don't deserve anypony." He screamed and ran off. The manticore started chasing after him. It chased him into the Everfree Forest, Spike ran through trees and jumped over rocks. Then, he ran into a dead end. He shook in fear as the creature slowly crawled toward him. "I wish my friends were here right now!", he screamed. Just then, a spark flashed. Discord landed around Spike, guarding him from the hungry creature. "STEP AWAY FROM THE BOY!", he shouted. He roared at the creature causing it to shrink into a baby. It ran off. "That's right, run away, you coward!", Discord yelled. He kneeled down to Spike. "Spike, thank goodness you're alright.", he said. "Did the creature hurt you?" "No.", Spike said. "Thank you, Discord. What are you doing here?" "I came here to save you.", Discord said. "And what are you doing out here all by yourself?! You could've ended up being a meal for that creature!" Spike looked down with a frown. "I thought my friends didn't need me, so I ran off.", he said. "They said I had tiny feet and can't reach high places. I felt like I wasn't appreciated and they weren't my rightful family." Discord understood why Spike was so upset. "I understand, Spike, but they need you.", he said. "They do?", Spike asked. "Yes, they love you, Spike, they want you back.", Discord said. "Where are they?", Spike asked. "They're outside the Everfree Forest, I told them to wait out there.", Discord said. Spike smiled. "Can you take me to them?", he asked happily. "Sure.", Discord said.
Decorating the CastleView OnlineSpike's Rightful Family for Hearth's WarmingDecorating the CastleTwilight Sparkle and her friends were decorating their castle for the Hearth's Warming Party. Twilight, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Starlight Glimmer were decorating the pillars, the stairs, and the hallways. Applejack and Pinkie Pie were decorating the tables and making the food. Rarity was decorating the Hearth's Warming tree for her friends for the party. "I can't wait for the Hearth's Warming Party.", Twilight said cheerfully. "This is my second time I spent Hearth's Warming with you girls.", Starlight said. "Well, it's not just us girls right now, Cheese Sandwich's here to.", Pinkie Pie said. "Well, where is he right now?", Rainbow Dash asked. "Hmm, I don't know.", Pinkie said sadly. Cheese Sandwich lowered himself to Pinkie's mane with a balloon tied to his waist. He covered her eyes with his hooves. Pinkie made a soft squeal with joy. "Hey, Cheese, you silly stallion.", she said playfully. "You know I like to play with you, my cute little doll.", Cheese said. He wrapped his hoof around Pinkie and hugged her. "Don't you all have a special somepony?" Twilight and Starlight looked at each other. "Well, Spike's been wanting to ask somepony to be by his side at the party.", Twilight said. "Who is it?", Starlight asked. "The answer is: I'm not going to tell you.", Twilight said. "So, where is he?", Fluttershy asked. Spike entered the door. "Hey, girls, and Cheese Sandwich.", he said. "Hello, Spike, we were just talking about you.", Rainbow Dash said. "Really?", Spike asked. "Did any of you want me to help?" "Nah, you're fine, Spike.", Applejack said. "Hey, as long as I'm part of your family, I should help one of you.", Spike said. "Spike, you don't have to, you're a baby dragon.", Twilight said. "You need your rest before the party starts, go to your room." "Ok, Twilight, I'm heading up there.", Spike said as he head up the stairs and into his room. "Why aren't you letting him help?", Cheese asked. "He's a baby dragon, he's obviously way too young to help decorate the castle.", Twilight said. "I'm a super duper party pony, I should assume he should be a 'super duper party dragon'.", Cheese said. "Me and Pinkie Pie are great cooks, we handle the food ourselves.", Applejack said. "Little Spike on his tiny feet, he can't even reach the top of the tree.", Rarity said. "And he can't jump to the higher parts of this room.", Rainbow Dash said. Spike has been asking his friends a bunch of times if he can help them with the decorating, but, they don't let him at all.

"Where is Spike?", Twilight asked. "The party's been going on for thirty minutes and he's not here at all." "Twilight, if Spike is still out there, I'm sure he's fine.", Applejack said. "I know, but, it's Hearth's Warming and he left before the party started.", Twilight said. "Maybe, he's still looking for more cakes to bring for the party.", Cheese said. "That's what I was going to say.", Pinkie said cheerfully. "But, did you see the look on his face when he walked out?", Twilight asked. "He looked like he was upset." "What was he upset about?", Fluttershy asked. "I don't know.", Twilight asked. "Was he just going on a walk to clear something off? Was he helping somepony else decorate their house? Was he just out there and he never came back? WHY ISN'T HE BACK!" "Twilight, please, don't freak out.", Rarity said. "I'M NOT FREAKING OUT!", Twilight shouted. "Yes, Twilight, you are freaking out.", Rainbow Dash said. "You're freaking out, because Spike's not here anymore for the party." "CAN ANYPONY TELL ME WHY SPIKE ISN'T HERE?!", Twilight asked shouting. "Twilight!", Starlight said. "Let me tell you why Spike isn't here." "Thank you, Starlight.", Twilight said. "Now tell me, why is Spike missing?" Starlight closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Spike left because he heard you all talking about him." "About what?", Twilight asked. "About him and his tiny feet and can't reach higher parts of this room.", Starlight said. "He heard us?!", Twilight asked shocked. "That was why he left?" "Yeah, and he said that you all aren't his rightful family if you act that way about him.", Starlight said. Twilight's eyes started to tear up. "Oh my gosh, what have I done.", she said. "Twilight, don't blame yourself.", Starlight said. "You can go out there, look for him and apologize." "But, we don't know where he is.", Applejack said. "Did any of us see anypony talking to him?" "I did.", the voice from behind said. They looked behind them and saw Apple Bloom standing right in front of them. "Apple Bloom, do you know where Spike went?", Applejack asked. "I saw him earlier and I saw him walk off somewhere, but, he didn't tell me.", Apple Bloom said. "What did he tell you?", Rainbow Dash asked. "He said none of y'all needed him.", Apple Bloom said. "None of us needed him?!", Twilight asked shocked again. "He ran away, because he thought none of us needed him?!" "Yeah, he was so upset about how you teased him, he told me what you said about him.", Apple Bloom said. "How are we going to find him?", Cheese asked. "I bet somepony needed some GPS.", the voice said from above. Discord was floating above the ponies while they talked. "So, what were you all talking about?" "Discord, do you have an idea on how to find Spike?", Fluttershy asked. "Yeah.", Discord said. "What's happening right now, did he ran off out there?" "Yes, but, we don't know where he is right now.", Twilight said panicking. "Don't worry, girls, I have my Spike detector with me.", Discord said revealing the detector. "Alright, lets go out there and look for the boy." "Cheese, I want you to be in charge of the party until we get back.", Pinkie said. "Don't worry, Pinkie, I'll take care of everything.", Cheese said. He kissed her on the cheek and walked off. The ponies and draconecuus went out into the Winter wonderland to look for their missing friend.

"We were about to start the gifting." "But, wait.", Twilight said. "Before, anypony start opening gifts, we have a gift for our friend here." She picked up one of Spike's presents from under the tree and handed it to Spike. "Is this one for me?", Spike asked. "Yes.", Rainbow Dash said. "And it's from all of us." Spike was about to tear the wrapping paper apart. But, Rarity took the present out of Spike's hands to stop him. "Wait! Before we do that, I have something I want to say to Spike.", Rarity said. Twilight took the present in her magic and rolled her eyes with a smile. "Take your time, Rarity. No rush at any point.", she said. Spike faced Rarity with a nervous smile on his face. "So, Rarity, what exactly do you want to tell me?", he asked. "Oh, I thought you would guess what, but perhaps you didn't.", Rarity said. "Well, here it comes. Oh, Spikey, we're both facing each other and we're standing under something floating in the air. Do you know what it is?" "Um, no? What?", Spike asked. "Look up above and see what it is.", Rarity said. Spike looked up and saw a mistletoe floating above him and the white unicorn. "Hey.", he said. He pointed at the figure. "Is that a mistletoe?" "That's right.", Rarity said, getting close to Spike's face. She planted her lips into Spike's cheek, giving it a kiss. "That was a kiss for the most wonderful dragon of all." The crowd adored the whole moment. "Awwwww." Spike blushed with embarrassment. "Oh... uh... That explains a lot, doesn't it?", he asked. Twilight gave the present back to Spike. "Now, you can open it, Spike.", she said. Spike ripped the wrapping off and looked at the revealed present. "A box?", he asked. "I don't normally get boxes." "That's not all.", Pinkie said. "Is it a book?", Spike asked. "It better not be a book." "It's not a book.", Applejack said. "It's because Twilight gets you books a lot doesn't mean you guessed it was a book." Spike removed the lid. It was a picture of him and his friends. "It's a picture... of us.", he said. "When was this?" "The day our castle was born.", Fluttershy said. "It sure was.", Rarity said. "That was one of my favorite times of our lives." "I wasn't here back then.", Starlight said. Spike's eyes started to tear up. "This is one of the best gifts I've ever got.", he said. "What would I be if I didn't have you as my family?" Spike's friends wrapped their hooves around him and hugged him. "The best gift from the best friends.", Twilight said.
