//-------------------------------------------------------// Alone On Hearth's Warming Eve -by Evictus- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Lonely //-------------------------------------------------------// Lonely One night on Hearth's Warming Eve Twilight was at her library looking out her window. She watched it snow. The snow stuck to the ground as it fell. She was hoping that her friends and family would come over to celebrate Hearth's Warming Eve with her but there was no sign of them coming. She hoped that they were indeed coming thinking that they might have forgotten to write her letters telling her that they were coming over. She was sad at the thought that her friends weren't coming. Her friends were probably seeing their families and they probably wouldn't be able to make it. She looked down at Spike's bed and remembered that Spike was sleeping over at Rarity's. She sighed sadly as Spike wasn't even going to be with her. She felt tears coming out of her eyes but she wiped them away. She was alone. She hated being alone on Hearths Warming Eve. She wiped more tears away. She wondered what her friends were doing. She had no clue if they were thinking about how they were missing her. They probably weren't even thinking about it. She had no idea why they weren't spending time with her that night. She wondered if they were going to spend time with her tomorrow. She was even going to make dinner for her family and friends but now knew that she couldn't as they weren't coming over. She looked outside to see if they were walking towards her place but saw nopony. She looked around her place feeling lonely. She wasn't even sure if they would send her any cards. Twilight felt as if she was forgotten by everypony. Even Celestia didn't send her anything. Shining Armor was busy working with the Royal Guard and Cadence was busy talking with diners at a extravagant Hearths Warming Eve Celebration. Twilight silently sat in her library looking out her window. Twilight wondered why she wasn't invited to anything. Neither her family or friends invited her. She wanted to ask her friends why she wasn't invited. She wondered if she did anything bad to upset her family or her friends for them not to invite her. She thought on the possibility of them punishing her. She was upset that they didn't even bother to tell her about it as well. Tears coated her face as she looked out the window. She demanded an answer as to why nopony invited her. She wanted to know the what she did so that she could apologize for it so that then they could take her to enjoy Hearth's Warming Eve with them. Her heart ached in sadness as she was hurt by possibly not being invited. She buried her face into her hooves and sobbed letting her tears leak out of her eyes. She heaved out sobs as she cried in loneliness. Nopony was there to cheer her up. She sobbed in despair as she was alone. She hated being alone. She just sat and cried. She let her emotions leak out. She tried to wipe away her tears but more tears went forth. She tried to hold them back but they kept leaking out. She sobbed hysterically. The room was filled with the sound of her crying. She felt abandoned she felt forgotten and she hated it. She continued to cry. She wondered if anypony would hear her and check on her. She hoped that they would understand if she had to explain to them that she felt abandoned. She also hoped that they would help her. She didn't even try to hold back as she just gave in to let out her emotions and cry as much as she needed to. She kept crying. Her face was wet with tears. She lowered her head and wiped her tears away with one of her front legs. She wondered if any of her friends would think of her and then come to her place and take her to hang out with them. She despaired as that possibility was unlikely. She didn't feel any anger though. She just felt depressed. She was hoping that some pony would just come to her door. She wouldn't mind who it was as long as they would keep her company or they could try and get her to her friends so she could find out why she wasn't invited to a Hearth's Warming Eve dinner or anything. She stared outside from the window and watched the snow fall. She knew that nopony was going to come to see her as they were all having fun without her. She wondered what excuse they were going to use when she asks them why she wasn't invited when she saw them the day after Hearths Warming Eve as they probably were going to invite her then either. She knew that they were probably not even thinking about her as they were to busy enjoying themselves. That depressed her even more. They didn't even have the nerve to think about her and it was Hearths Warming Eve. They probably wouldn't even care. Some friends they were. Soon it was the afternoon and there was still no sign of her friends as they were probably all still hanging out without her. She tried to be angry but she was to sad to be angry. Her feelings felt hurt. She felt awful. She couldn't believe that they forgot her. After all they have been through they abandon her. She tried to hold back her tears and try to come up with an explanation for this. She couldn't. There was no reason for them to abandon her on the most joyous season of the year. They just left her and enjoyed Hearths Warming Eve without her. She thought that they were her friends. She laid back and just let the tears flow from her eyes. She felt alone. The silence was torturous for her. She didn't feel like going for her mail or going for a walk or anything. She picked up a picture of her with her friends. She closed her eyes and cried loudly. Then while she was crying a knock on her door alerted her. She wiped her eyes as she wondered who it was. She didn't want to go answer it as she knew it wouldn't be her friends. Soon she heard Rarity's voice call for her. "Twilight? It's Rarity would you open the door please?" Rarity asked. Twilight felt anger rise through her as she wanted to know why her friends didn't want her on Hearths Warming Eve. She went to open the door and confronted Rarity with anger as she wanted to know why the hell didn't they invite her to anything. She wiped away her remaining tears and opened the door and spoke. "Oh! Hi Rarity! Why are you here?! Aren't you supposed to be hanging with your friends without me!?!" Twilight yelled in anger. Rarity gave her a concerned look. "What are you talking about? Where have you been?!" Rarity exclaimed. "Here because I wasn't invited to go to your Hearths Warming Eve dinner! Now go! Go ahead and have fun without me like you've been doing since you don't want me!!" Twilight yelled. Rarity stepped back with a shocked look. "What?! We do want you! What do you mean! Or coarse we invited you!! We've been worried sick about you!!" Rarity yelled back. Twilight became even angrier. "No you didn't!! I've never gotten an invitation!" Twilight yelled. Rarity looked at Twilight with disbelief. Rarity could not believe what she had heard. She tried to find words for what Twilight said. "Yes we did! Check the mailbox!!!" Rarity yelled in anger at the accusation. Twilight stepped back in shock. Rarity went to Twilights mailbox. She opened the the little door and grabbed a letter and shoved it into Twilights grasp and waited. Twilight opened it up and saw an invitation to the Hearths Warming Eve dinner. She felt like a complete idiot. "Yeah! Your accusation is bullshit!! Stop accusing us of something we didn't do!!" Rarity yelled. Twilight tried to find the words for a response. She felt like a complete moron. She should have checked her mail but didn't and instead worried about not being invited. She had no clue on how to fix the problem she had started. She looked at Rarity and tried to speak. She hoped that Rarity could understand. She tried to explain the best she could. She tried to come up with an excuse that she hoped would work. "Rarity....I....I'm sorry...I didn't check the mail." Twilight said in total disbelief. Rarity growled back at her in response. "Well maybe you should have checked before accusing me!!!" Rarity snapped. Tears grew in Twilights eyes. "Rarity please....I'm really sorry!!" Twilight pleaded with an apology. Tears were now rolling from Twilights eyes and down her cheeks. She could not believe what was occurring. "Yeah! Your sorry alright! Some apologist you are!! We've been worried sick about you!!" Rarity remarked with a sad angry tone. Twilight continued to beg with Rarity to try and fix her mistake. "Rarity I'm sorry okay! I didn't mean to accuse you. I felt lonely and I was worried that I wasn't invited." Twilight said trying to explain. Rarity shook her head. "Twilight we were so afraid that something happened!! We wondered why you weren't there yet. We sent an invitation that we were sure you got but I guess you didn't." Rarity said in a sad voice. Twilight gave her a sad look. "I'm sorry Rarity I should have checked the mail but instead I freaked out and started to worry that you all didn't think about me to invite me. I was worried that you were all having fun without me." Twilight explained Rarity shook her head. "Of coarse not! It's Hearths Warming Eve and we want to spend time with all of our friends and family. How could you think that!? We're friends and it wouldn't be fun without you! Please! Can you come over? It's at Sugarcube Corner." Rarity explained. Twilight sighed. "Of coarse I'll come over! I'm sorry for not checking the mail! That was stupid and there is no excuse for that!" Twilight explained. "Sure you can come over. Next time check." Rarity said. Twilight nodded her head understandingly. "I will I'm sorry for accusing you all of doing something you wouldn't do to me!" Twilight said apologizing. Rarity smiled. "Your forgiven." Rarity said. Rarity hugged Twilight. They then pulled away from the hug and Rarity guided Twilight to the area where they were hanging out. Soon Twilight felt happiness grow into her chest as she saw all her friends and family. They all hugged her. She hugged them back. Twilight apologized for making them wait for her. They all forgave her and then with one swift moment they started up the music and had dinner and then freshed baked cookies for desert. They also hung out and listened to music and talked for a couple of hours. For the rest of the night they just danced and talked for the next few hours. They were all glad that Twilight could make it. And for the next few hours they just had a grand time. Twilight also wrote a letter to Princess Celestia about how not make baseless accusations that weren't true and to always find out about something your unsure of and to always trust your friends. After writing the letter she approached Spike and Spike sent it to Princess Celestia for her. Twilight ruffled his head and gave him a gift. He hugged her. She danced with her friends and all of her family members. They read each other Hearth's Warming Day stories and gave each other free ornaments that they had made. They also handed out gift baskets. After that they just hung around while dancing to music and talking to each other. Twilight had a great time with her friends and family. She hoped that they could do this next year to as they continued to party. After a few hours they all left satisfied. They all told each other goodnight and they all left. Twilight went home knowing to always ask about whatever you are unsure about and promised herself to always check her mailbox even if it was snowing heavily and to always think the best of her friends and family.
