We all know about the elements of harmony and how they managed to bring peace to Equestria through the magic of friendship. The hero's of Equestria. However, the greatest of heros are those that are never heard of. What if I told you that in a far off alternate universe, one pony saved the lives of everypony every universe countless times. Lets visit that universe and see how this all began. 5000 years ago from what we currently know in time, an ancient evil ruled the land, claiming to be the most powerful being throughout the Multiverse. The strongest of devils. It threatened to wipe out all life throughout each and every universe, then fill each one with its demonic army. Several ponies tried to stop this evil, but all had failed. Nopony could ever come close to defeating this thing. It created a substance that would nullify and dispell any and all magic. It was a pure black substance called Anti-Magic. This substance was feared by even the mightiest of alicorns. Due to their immortality having been based on a magic property, the Anti-Magic would dispell that property and render their powers useless. This would be the end of ponykind. Except, one valiant pony by the name of Rune Keeper managed to wander into a cave that was full of a special gem. This gem had the powers to seal away the strongest of evils and rid them of their powers. Long exposure in the gem would result in death for any being due to the immortality factor of them being drained away slowly. Rune realized that this would be the only way to stop it. He had to do this or else everypony everywhere would be doomed. When he returned home with the gem, he told his family and friends what he was about to do. They called him crazy and told him that he could never stop that thing, but he pushed on. The evil had caught wind of his plan and decided to deal with Rune personally, but just in case things would have gone wrong, it made an entire family line. The Writers. It put its DNA in them so if it would get trapped, it would live through them. He sent them of to have them avoid being killed in what is currently Canterlot. Once Rune got to the evil being, it began to toy with him. When it got ready to finish off Rune, he managed to get the gem out just in time and capture the evil. Sadly though, Rune's soul had also been sucked in with it. With the evil sealed away in an unbreakable gem prison, everypony began to rejoice. The gem was soon placed in an old temple located in what is now the Everfree Forest. Forward 5000 years later to the time period we all know. The elements have just been born, and so has Yearling Writer.
