//-------------------------------------------------------// A Simple Sleepover -by marzipanne- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Sleepover //-------------------------------------------------------// Sleepover      Twilight slowly opened her eyes, to the sun illuminating her crystal-like room from the window. She gave a slight yawn and rubbed her eyes. You know, the normal things one does when waking up in the morning. She got of bed and stretched, walking out of her room and into her throne room.      She didn't necessarily have anything to do that day. She thought she might've wanted to go out for a walk, but her body would not allow her to move out of her throne the moment she sat in it. She felt she could've just fallen asleep right there, sitting comfortably in her chair, surrounded by all the... empty ones. She didn't get much sleep the night before, as she stayed up late reading about early alicorn history and royalty. If you're a princess, might as well play the part, am I right?      Twilight sighed, taking her idea of getting some extra sleep into consideration, when she also considered filling in those empty chairs around her. Since she had nothing to do, she thought she would maybe call in her friends for a sleepover, and she was pretty sure they had no plans for that day either, coincidentally. Don't you just love it when everything falls perfectly into place without any catch or setbacks?      She liked this idea, and told herself to invite her friends as soon as possible!      She yawned. 'Maybe after a quick two hour nap...' she thought to herself as she slowly drifted off to sleep.      Rainbow Dash and Pinkie made it to castle first, both knocking on the door in a mixture of excited speed and loud confidence...? Don't ask, the author doesn't know what she's doing. Twilight happily greeted them in the doorway.      "Hey, guys! So glad you could make it!"      "Thanks! I'm so excited! We're gonna have so much fun!" Pinkie cheered in her usual happy tone.      "Oh," Twilight waved a hoof around, "It shouldn't be too different from any other sleepovers we've had. Though, there may be s'mores involved..." she turned and started to walk back into the castle.      "S'MORES!!!!" Pinkie screamed as she zipped into the throne room. Twilight prepared to close the door, when she heard hoofsteps coming quickly toward the castle.     "Somepony mentioned s'mores?" a slightly high-pitched voice called as the hoofsteps slowed.      "Oh, yeah, 'cause Miss Queen of the S'mores here was just dyin' to make some," another voice with a southern accent spoke playfully, and Twilight immediately recognized the two.      "Applejack! Rarity!" Twilight yelled happily as the two finally came to a stop in front of her. "Thanks for coming!"      "Delighted to be here, darling!" Rarity greeted her.      "Thanks for havin' us," Applejack thanked.      "Come on in!"      The two walked inside and sat in their respective thrones. Twilight slowly shut the door after checking to see if anypony else was coming. As she walked to her throne, Applejack looked around, searching for something.      "Say, where's Fluttershy?"      There was a quiet tapping at the door, almost impossible to hear. Twilight opened the door to reveal Fluttershy, standing in the doorway with a slight blush spreading across her cheeks.      "I'm s-sorry I'm late..." She smiled lightly and walked into the castle.      "Oh, it's no trouble!" Twilight reassured her.      Rarity sat in her throne and rested her head on one of her hooves, while she extended the other out and checked it out, as if she had just gotten a hooficure.      "Fashionably late, I suppose?" She asked Fluttershy as the pegasus set her bags down.      "No, not really." She deadpanned as she slid into her throne.      Everyone stared at her, causing her to cower away from them, almost sliding back out of her chair.      "Oh!" Rainbow Dash spoke, starting to hover above her throne, "Let's play Truth or Dare! It's a classic!"      Applejack leaned in close to Rarity and whispered, "Seems more like a tradition the amount o' times we've played it." Rarity giggled in response.      "Okay, Truth or Dare is our first game for the night! Who's going first?"      Everyone looked at Rainbow, who smirked. "Of course," she said as she slowly descended and sat back down. Time Skip, Because Author is Lazy      A few laughs and giggles were shared after a good game of Truth or Dare. Next, were the s'mores.      Oh, how Rarity loved the s'mores.      She went on another lecture about how s'mores should be made, gaining some laughs and Applejack's groans of disapproval. She made them how she wanted to.      In the middle of a s'more, Pinkie Pie had a sudden moment of realization.      "ANYONE NOTICE THAT RARITY LOOKS LIKE A MARSHMALLOW?" She screamed through a mouthful of s'more.      "Y'know, now that you mention it..." Applejack smirked while examining Rarity. Rarity blushed.      "I most certainly do not!" She pouted, her face turning a dark shade of red as she took another bite of her s'more. "I am only a pony of a pure white coat," she said once she swallowed the small bite.      Applejack chuckled. Pinkie turned to Rainbow Dash and stuffed a s'more in her mouth, which Rainbow didn't seem to mind. Pinkie looked between Applejack and Rainbow Dash, noticing something was off.      "Heyyyy," she said sharply, "Why aren't you guys competing?"      Applejack looked at Pinkie Pie, seeming confused at the question.      "I mean, you guys are usually competing over something at these sleepovers, why not now?"      Rainbow gulped the s'more down quickly, before answering her question, "Well, I guess there's nothing really to compete against each other for."      Everyone except Applejack stared in shock, as her and Rainbow just continued to eat their s'mores obliviously.      "Well......" Pinkie Pie spoke, "I can compete with you!"      Rainbow smirked, eyeing the pink party pony. "You sure about that?"     "Dunno, are you sure about it?"      "Is that a threat?" Rainbow flew up close to Pinkie's face, their muzzles only inches apart.      "Oooh!" Their friends laughed. Pinkie Pie smiled, while keeping a serious tone of voice, "Bring it."      "Whoever stays up longest wins, deal?" Rainbow offered.      "Deal." They shook hooves. It was settled.      Now, for the scary stories. Fluttershy's least favorite part of each sleepover. Rainbow turned off the lights, brought out a flashlight, and turned it on with a quick *flip!* of the switch. She held it up to her face and snickered, already scaring Fluttershy out of her wits.      "On one fateful Autumn night, two mares awoke in a forest. They had no idea how they got there, all they knew was one simple goal implanted in their brains: Find and collect 8 pages..."      "...they had finally found the last page, and went to grab it. When, suddenly, a tall, slim, ghostly white pony towered over them. He had multiple tentacles emerging from his back. He had no face! He grabbed the two mares with his tentacles and pulled them toward him, and they screamed for help. But when you're alone in the woods..." She turned off the flashlight and was nowhere in sight. She suddenly reappeared next to Fluttershy, wearing a cloth over head to make it seem like she had no face.      "NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM!" she shouted, her speech slightly muffled from the cloth.      A loud echo of screams filled the room, the loudest being Fluttershy's. Poor girl almost had a heart attack. Rainbow laughed hysterically, removing the cloth. "I LOVE THAT ONE!" she yelled, laughing even harder, snorting.      The others laughed with her, (albeit not as hard,) besides Fluttershy, who was shaking and whimpering in a corner, Rainbow stopped laughing to comfort her, "Hey, it's ok, Shy, we would never let anything like that happen to you for real!" She put a wing over her. Fluttershy hesitantly nodded, "O-Okay..."      As it neared midnight, Twilight started to slowly started to nod off, along with Applejack, who simply fell asleep after looking at the ceiling for about two minutes. Fluttershy leaned onto Twilight once she fell asleep, snoring quietly and slightly drooling. Rarity decided to join her friends in their slumber, seeing as watching Pinkie and Rainbow give each other competitive glares wasn't entertaining her much. Soon, they were a sleeping pony pile with only four ponies, as two other ponies were missing out...      With all the others asleep, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash started their face off, to see which of the two could stay awake the longest. They seemed to be having a yawning competition, as the two were desperately trying to hold in loud yawns to also try and see who could yawn the least.      Pinkie was slowly succumbing to boredom and pure lack of sleep, and her eyelids threatened to close several times, as did Rainbow's. They kept up the competition, until Pinkie couldn't fight it anymore, and waited for sleep to take over as her eyelids started to droop. but before they could, she felt sudden pressure on her shoulder, and turned to see Rainbow Dash, her eyes closed and snoring loudly.      Pinkie mentally cheered for herself, letting out a quiet, yet still quite energetic, "I win!!!" before she, too, finally fell onto her backside, and snored away.
