When Celestia and Luna came to Equestria to dethrone Discord, he wasn't foolish enough to let them hit him with the Elements of Harmony. Instead he dodges the attack and sends the alicorn sisters to the moon for five thousand years. As he continues his rule, he makes Equestria into a powerful and feared country across the whole of Equis. Discord then chooses "Watchers" to be the main defense group of Equestria. These Watchers change every one hundred years. It's actually about time that Discord would appoint the next group of Watchers
