Most ponies would be inside with loved ones in front of a warm fire, but not Twilight Sparkle. She was busy reorganizing the castle's library, again. She had been doing this all day long and she was starting to get tired. Just as she finished the “Old and Ancient: Spell Guide of Equestria” section, she heard a knock on the front door. She jumped at the sudden sound of somepony at her door. As she walked to the front of the castle, she wondered who would be stupid enough to be out in this weather. “Knock, knock, knock!” The banging on the door grow louder and faster as Twilight approached the door, “I’m coming” she said impatiently  as she opened the door. Standing in the opening was a very frozen looking Rainbow Dash. “Can I come in?” Dash said through cold breaths. “Oh sweet Celestia, come in quick. What are you doing? Its freezing out there.” Twilight yelled as she helped her friend inside. “I wanted to see you Twi. I was a little alone and I know how empty this castle can get sometimes.” Dash answered, as she brushed the snow from her wings. Twilight didn’t say anything, she just stood there. “Twi, you okay?” Dash said but, Twilight had leaned in and wrapped a forehoof around Dash’s neck. “I’m glad you came over Rainbow, but you shouldn’t have gone out in that blizzard like that.” Twilight let go and helped Dash out of her scarf, “I’m going to put the kettle on and i’ll get you a blanket; do you want me to get you something?” Rainbow was blushing but quickly said, “If you could throw on a fire would be nice.” Twilight started walking toward the kitchen and said, “I’ll get the fire going you just come and sit down.” Rainbow Dash walked into the room and found a seat on the couch. “I made some tea, I hope that’s ok?”, Twilight said as she walked out of the kitchen. On her back was a fluffy blanket and wrapped in her magic was two cups of hot tea. “Tea is fine Twi, and thanks for the blanket.” Dash sat up and took one of the cups. Twilight sat down on the sofa and with her magic aura put the blanket on Rainbow. “It’s no problem Dash, I always enjoy your company.” Twilight looked over to the fireplace and started a fire with her magic. The two of them sat there in the warmth of the fire drinking their cups of tea. “So where is Spike?” Dash asked taking a sip of tea. “Oh he’s upstairs, he’s supposed to be sleeping but I know that he’s probably reading one of those stupid comic books agen.” Twilight answered, drinking her own tea. Rainbow looked around and said, “and what about Starlight?”, “Oh, she went off with Trixie. Trixie’s got a big show she’s putting on in Lost Pegasus and she wanted Starlight’s help. She should be back in a few days.” Twilight answered. Twilight stared into her cup, thinking to herself. Dash noticed that her friend had gotten quiet. “You okay Twi?” Twilight looked at Dash and said, “Yeah I’m fine”. Dash looked Twilight in the eyes and said, “Listen Twi, I’ve known you for a long time. So I know when something is bothering you.” Twilight looked up at Dash, “Well, I have a hypothetical question to ask you.” Rainbow Dash looked at her friend in confusion and said, “Ok, I’m listening.” Twilight put her cup down and before she could continued Spike walked in. “Hey when did you get here?”, he said pointing at Rainbow Dash. Dash looked away and went red in the face. “What do you want,” Twilight said in frustration. “I was just getting the next comic book to read,” he answered back. Twilight rolled her eyes, “fineee”. Spike ran over to the shelves, graded a few books and ran back upstairs. Rainbow looked at Twilight a gave a small laugh, “Well then, what were you saying before”. “Oh yeah”, she continued with what she was going to say. “Well, if I were to like somepony but I didn’t know if they liked me back how would I tell said pony? Hypothetically of course.” Rainbow put her cup down and looked at Twilight who was blushing, “Well Twi, I would just tell them, I wouldn’t hold anything back. Tell them how I feel, you know?.” Dash was now starting to blush, she was wondering where Twilight was going with this, but she had a pretty good idea. “Ok, and what if hypothetically said pony didn’t like me back?” Twilight said moving a little closer to Dash. “Well, I’m sure the other pony would be happy to hear you confess your love for them.” She too moved in closer. The two of them were close enough now that their faces almost touched. “Well then, I have to tell you something Dash.” Twilight said looking into Rainbow’s eyes. “Yes Twi.” she said going red in the face. “I love you Rainbow Dash, I’ve always loved you. You have always been there for me and you’ve never left my side. I love the way you make me laugh and how you can always cheer me up. I love you with all of my being.” Twilight looked up at Dash waiting for her response. But she didn’t say anything, she just leaned in and kissed Twilight. Shock, love, and other feelings Twilight didn’t know she had flooded her mind as she and Dash kissed. Rainbow broke the kiss and looked Twilight in the eyes, “I love you too Twi.” The two of them sat there in front of the fire when Twilight asked, “So, are we a couple now?” Dash almost fell off the sofa, “Are the kinding me? Of course we are Twi”. Twilight started to blush as she said, “So that means, I’ve got a special somepony!” Rainbow cuddled up to her closer and kissed her forehead, “I love you Twilight”. “I love you too, Rainbow Dash”. They sat there all night in each others embraced.
