Camp Everfree must've been tough on her, but was pretty much saved from chaos by Gaia Everfree. Another magical situation saved from evil, four times felt too much for her and needed to take it easy and relax a little bit. Well she could use a short nap for a while until time to work. So she slept for about four hours until her older brother named Big Mac called her name. "Applejack!" he called, "Granny needs yer help!" Applejack slowly woke up and came down to look for her grandmother, Granny Smith. She looked almost everywhere and couldn't find her. She found her younger sister Applebloom and asked her, "Have ya seen Granny? Big Mac said that she needs my help." "No I haven't, sis," replied Applebloom as she was picking up a bucket full of apples. In a split second, Applejack spotted Granny Smith and rushed to her. "Granny, Big Mac said that ya need my help fer somethin'," she said. "I do, dearie," said Granny, "I need you to help me make some apple pies for an Apple reunion." "Sure thang," said Applejack as she smiled and adjusted her hat. In the kitchen, she and Granny gathered out the ingredients and made several apple pies. It took a lot of time and hard work, but it was worth it. They were proud of their pies they baked. A few hours later, it was time to hit the hay. Applejack couldn't wait to get some rest because of her hard work. As soon as she got on her pj's (not her blue onesie she wore at Pinkie Pie's sleepover), she yawned and slept. While she was sleeping, a barn owl hooted inside the barn with its nest with three eggs in it. It turned out that it was the mother barn owl, guarding her nest. Since owls are nocturnal, the father barn owl was searching for his prey while flying into the night sky. When he saw the window, he landed onto it and peeked inside the house, observing a sleeping cowgirl. The father barn owl went to her and nuzzled her left cheek lovingly. He didn't mean any harm, but he did mean any love. Still sleeping, Applejack felt her cheek being nuzzled by a barn owl and touched the father barn owl's head. When she felt his head, she woke up and saw him standing in front of her. Well she wasn't totally freaking out because her family had barn owls there. She was confused because Fluttershy had the ability to communicate with animals. She had never communicated with a barn owl before. The father barn owl hooted softly to her. Applejack didn't know what to say or reply, but she smiled anyway and stroked his head. "Why'd ya fly over ta here, sugarcube?" she asked. The father barn owl hooted back to her. "I can't speak barn owl, but is that ya only wanted ta talk ta me?" Applejack asked again. The father barn owl nodded in reply and dragged her to the window. It seemed to her that he also wanted to show her something. Maybe he wanted her to come outside and let him show her something? Applejack quietly ran downstairs and went outside to look for the father barn owl. The she saw him flying from the window to show her he was there. The father owl hooted to her, saying that he wanted her to follow him as he was flying. Applejack followed him to the barn and he flew inside of it. She went inside of it as well but it was too dark in there. She heard the father barn owl hooting to her. It came from right behind her so she turned around to look for him. "I should've got a flashlight," she said, "It's back in the house somewhere." Then she saw a gadget that looked like a heavy duty kind of a flashlight, picked it up and turned it on. It shined bright enough for her to see. She shined on the father and the mother barn owls together in their nest. "Well ain't that cute?" said Applejack, "Ya also wanted ta show me that y'all have a nest inside the barn?" The father barn owl nodded in reply and hooted to her lovingly. Applejack smiled as she saw him and his wife being together in their nest peacefully. She yawned and said, "I better hit the hay. See y'all later, sugarcubes." The father and the mother barn owls hooted to her and snuggled each other. "Night y'all," Applejack replied as she was heading back to her house. She went upstairs to her room, and went back to sleep. It was the first time making friends with the father barn owl. She couldn't believe that it happened to her, and didn't expect it to happen. Well no matter, it was her first barn owl experience she ever had in her whole life, and her family would never believe this. And her friends would never believe that too. While sleeping, Applejack began to dream of herself as the barn owl queen with barn owl wings like an angel. She had on a long white sleeveless dress with a golden copper ombre on the bottom, and had gold brass buttons conected to each sleeve strap. She also had the barn owl makeup on her face and a barn owl masquerade mask. Her lower legs and her feet became the barn owl feet. Three toes and black sharp talons. Her lower arms and hands have the design of the barn owl feet, but kept the five fingers on each hand. Her fingernails grew sharp and turned black. Her hair turned from blonde to the color of the barn owl's head. She had feather bracelets, anklets, necklace, and earrings. And as a final touch, she had the gold barn owl designed crown. She was flying with her fellow barn owl friends into the early evening sky. They flew past the streets of Canterlot, Canterlot High, the Canterlot High outdoor stage, Crystal Prep, and all the way to Camp Everfree. She looked around and smiled. Her fellow barn owls hooted to her happily and nuzzled their heads against her. She laughed and petted their heads with tender happiness. //-------------------------------------------------------// Into the Forest She Goes //-------------------------------------------------------// Into the Forest She Goes That was the best dream she ever had. Getting the opportunity to make friends with barn owls, the sound of their hoots, their soothing coos, their nuzzles, and best of all, communicating with them, as long as if they could understand her, like the father and mother barn owls did. The next day, Applejack and her family were outside in the apple orchard doing the same work as usual. By the time they were done working, Applejack was proud to be as helpful as she could. Just then she heard some rustling in the forest near her. She didn't know who or what was there so she went off to investigate. The forest seemed endless and kind of eerie. Applejack continued to look for the source of the rustling, unaware that someone was watching her. She roamed around the forest and heard the rustling again. She then felt cautious looked around her surroundings. Out of nowhere, she was attacked and got severely cut on her left arm and her right thigh, and fell down to the ground. Her wounds began to bleed rapidly, and she was trying her very best to get up and go back. But before she could make it back to the apple orchard, she was attacked again and got cut on her lower part of her neck next to her collar bone. Now her lower neck began to bleed rapidly, and she began to cough and spit out blood. Applejack covered her arm and her neck wounds and went back to the apple orchard and almost made to to her house. She collapsed on the ground and couldn't get up because she was too weak to do so. Her blood from her wounds continued to rapidly bleed. She coughed and spit out blood again. She thought the she was going to die because of major blood loss. Luckily, Applebloom went outside and saw Applejack laying on the ground with blood spilling everywhere from her wounds. Applebloom gasped and ran inside the house to call for Granny and Big Mac. A few seconds later, she, Granny and Big Mac came out of the house. Thankfully, Applejack was still alive but how long would she live in this condition? "Call 911!!!" Applebloom cried as she was panicking. Big Mac got out is cell phone and dialed 911. After the call and about a few minutes later, the sirens of an ambulance wailed from the distance and got louder as it came closer. By the time the ambulance stopped, the sirens were turned off. The doctors came out of it and saw Applejack laying on the ground with blood spilling everywhere from her wounds. They gauged the wounds, placed her in the cot, shut the back doors tight, and rushed her to the hospital. Afterwards, Applebloom, Big Mac and Granny were in the waiting room, waiting on the result and hoping that Applejack would still be alive. They felt worried about her and Applebloom was the only one crying for her because she couldn't bear to lose her older sister. Suddenly, the doctors and the surgeons came out with Applejack in the hospital gown and covered in her wrapped bandages on three spots, who was still under anesthesia. "Well, the surgery is done, and we need to take her to her assigned room number," the first doctor said, "Her room number is 300 whenever you need to come and visit this fair young lady." The doctors, Granny, Big Mac, and Applebloom went to room 300. The doctors placed Applejack on the hospital bed and tucked her in. In no time at all, Applejack slowly began to open her eyes and looked around the hospital room without moving much. "Wh-Where....am I?" she asked softly. "Yer in a hospital," said Applebloom, "As long as yer okay, we're okay. Ain't that right, Big Mac?" "Eeyup," Big Mac replied. Applejack smiled a little bit. She was still weak from the major blood loss, but that didn't stop her from trying her extremely best to live longer. She was cut three times, but at least she persevered through the attack in the forest, trying to get home before it got worse. She only wondered where the rustling sound was coming from. //-------------------------------------------------------// Her First Victim and Their Rumors //-------------------------------------------------------// Her First Victim and Their Rumors A few hours later, a teen girl named Thrush Sentry (not related to Flash Sentry) went into the forest and saw the shed. She came closer to it, and closer and closer and closer....until she was grabbed by Lumberjack! Thrust tried to squirm free but it was impossible because of Lumberjack's strength. "What do you want from me?!?" she cried, "I just wanted to see what's inside of that shed!!!" "It doesn't matter," said Lumberjack, "Whether ya like er not, yer a trespasser, and yer gonna have ta face the consequence." She tied Thrust up to the tree stump, operated the chainsaw and cut Thrush's head right off of her body. Thrust's eyes were rolled upwards with red stretch marks on the bottom, and both parts of her neck, head and body, bled rapidly and the blood started to spill everywhere in one spot. Lumberjack let out her short evil laugh, turned off the chainsaw and put it away. "That's what ya get fer trespassin' inta my territory," she said with an evil smile, "Only I get ta go inside of my shed whenever I want to." With that, she picked up Thrush's head, looked at it and said this, "As a warnin', I'll untie 'n' put yer body against the tree, and yer head next to it." And she did so. When the full moon faded away, she transformed back into Applejack. She breathed rapidly in fear and looked around. Then she saw a dead teenage girl whose head had been chopped off and whose skin was cold, frozen like ice. She was shocked and gasped with fear and felt as if she was going to cry. She looked down and saw her hands covered in fresh blood, and was shocked again. Her emerald green eyes began to water and her tears ran down her white freckled cheeks. "Di-Did I do this?" she asked herself, "Wh-What am I doin' here, a-and why am I here?!?" In no time, she ran away from the bloody shed and went back home. The bleeding of Thrush's neck of both head and body parts began to slow down. As two years went by, Thrush's head and her body's skin got frozen like ice. She remained the same, but a lot more paler than she was when she first got killed. The next day, it was Friday and the student at Canterlot High started to spread rumors about Lumberjack. Thank goodness the girl with the same previous look wasn't transformed yet. She felt nervous, depressed and hurt, and wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. She also didn't want to eat or drink anything. She couldn't stop thinking about what happened two years ago, and couldn't stop changing from good to evil every night. Every time she heard the name Lumberjack, she felt scared and covered herself with her hat. After school, Applejack went to the statue and sat next to and leaned into it. Her life was changed forever. She couldn't stand the personality changes, and herself as Lumberjack murdering people at the shed. Just then, her six friends (Sunset Shimmer, Sci-Twi, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie) came to her and felt extremely sorry for her. They gave her as much comfort as they could, but Applejack still felt very depressed. "Aww why is your smile upside down?" asked Pinkie, "When you're sad, I'm sad." "Um, if you don't mind me asking," Fluttershy began, "Are you okay?" "What's the matter, darling?" asked Rarity. "No offense, but why are you acting so weird lately?" asked Rainbow. "She's correct," said Sci-Twi, "Any reason why you're not acting like yourself recently?" "Tell us why you're that depressed so often," said Sunset. Applejack didn't respond, but hung her head down instead. She didn't know what to respond. Would she conceal it, or confess it? She didn't want to keep her friends waiting, so she decided to confess it. After all, honesty is the best policy. She started telling them about when she got cut, sent to the hospital to recover for a few months and gone back home, transformed into Lumberjack, and killed the first victim. Sunset and Sci-Twi were surprised, Rainbow and Pinkie were terribly shocked and Rarity and Fluttershy fainted. "That was shocking," said Sunset, "Don't worry. At least I'm sure you didn't kill her on purpose." Suddenly, she had the feeling that the cause of it could be behind all of that madness, and had an idea. "I can call Princess Twilight for help," she said, "She'll know what to do." "Well get to writing," said Rainbow as she handed her the pen. Sunset opened her journal and started writing the words: "Dear Princess Twilight..." //-------------------------------------------------------// "Dear Princess Twilight..." //-------------------------------------------------------// "Dear Princess Twilight..." Meanwhile in Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle was doing her royal duties with some assistance of Spike the little dragon. When she was about to finish it up, she heard her journal ringing. She went to it, opened up her journal with her horn, and read a serious emergency note from Sunset Shimmer: "Dear Princess Twilight; I've recently heard Applejack's horrible experience, and she needs your help! She is in danger and we have to do something to save her! How exactly can we get rid of her evil clone who has been controlling her every now and then? It started to happen to her two years ago. Applejack and I will explain more about it when you come back through the portal. Your Friend, Sunset Shimmer" Princess Twilight began to panic afterwards. "Applejack is in danger!" she said, "We need to save her before it's too late!" Then she turned to Spike. "Spike, turn on the mirror portal. This is a serious business." "You got it!" Spike said as he did so and then hopped on her back. They went through the mirror portal and made it to Canterlot High. "Twilight!!!" her friends said in unison, and then she saw Sci-Twi again. She was still clueless about when she and Sci-Twi met each other after the Friendship Games. Other than that, she needed to focus on Applejack's critical problem. Sunset gave her a hug, and explained the whole experience Applejack was in, with some help from Applejack of course. Hearing this, Princess Twilight felt her heart sinking really fast and wanted to get to examining Applejack's scars. At Applejack's house, and in her room, Princess Twilight and Sunset asked her to take off her top and her skirt, but to leave her undergarments on. Applejack blushed very hard and did as she was told. Then she was asked to lay down on her bed, and she did so. She felt very uncomfortable and continued to blush hard. "Pretend that you were in the hospital again," said Sunset. "Um...okay?" questioned Applejack, now feeling confused. Sunset and Princess Twilight began to examine the three scars that had been surgically taken care of. Then, Princess Twilight realized that Applejack had been telling her and the rest of the truth, figured out who attacked her, and started to panic again. "Oooohhhh no no no no no no no no no!!!!" Applejack soon felt nervous while the panicking was still going on. "I've just figured out who attacked her!!!" exclaimed Princess Twilight, "It was Cutthroat, the cursed axeman!!!" "WHHAAAAT?!?!?!?" her friends screamed. "Cutthroat?!?" Applejack asked shockingly. "Yes," replied Princess Twilight, "He lived in the dark forest near the apple orchard, finding anyone to contaminate his cursed souls with. He only used his axe to attack the victim in order to do so. Then the results, became worse. Whenever the full moon shines on the victim, he or she transforms from good to evil because of the contamination from the cursed souls. If this doesn't stop before the full moon rises on Nightmare Night, the victim will become and remain evil forever! To stop the cursed souls from controlling Applejack, she has to say the short spell to separate her good side from her evil side before the transformation. Then she should be able to defeat Lumberjack and finally be free again and the scars should vanish very quickly. When Lumberjack is defeated, she will go into the mirror prison inside the mirror, and the mirror you hold has to be shattered so she will never escape and take over your body ever again." Then she gave Applejack the mirror. "This spell has to take place in the same forest where you were attacked," she said, "It will not work anywhere else." //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confrontation //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confrontation The eight girls and Spike went to the same forest and saw the shed that was a little too foggy to see farther away. "Um...AJ? Why is there a shed in this forest?" Rainbow asked. "How should I know? Lumberjack just saw it, claimed it as hers and killed someone there," replied Applejack, "That's all I know about it." "This place gives me the spine chill!" said Pinkie as was shivering. "M-Me too," agreed Fluttershy as she was shivering also. As the girls made it at the bloody shed, they saw many dead bodies. Some were hanged up with a rope, and some had their heads chopped off. They were totally shocked by how many of them Lumberjack killed. Applejack wasn't shocked, but scared and petrified. Princess Twilight handed her the book with a spell written on the page. "Applejack, read the spell out loud before the full moon rises and shines on you again," she said. Applejack cleared her throat and started to read it. "Cursed soul be gone from me and control me never more. Now the time has come to end this evildoing and I will be free forever more." After the spell was recited, she was glowing as bright as the sun. The cursed soul got separated from her body and it transformed into Lumberjack. Applejack glared and raised her fist at her angrily. "Why were ya controllin' me?" she said angrily, "I ain't yer puppet!" Lumberjack just laughed and smiled at her wickedly. "Ya think I'm yer puppeteer? Good one there, sugarcube!" "Now listen here, ya no good varmint; get outta my body this instant, and never EVER try ta control me anymore, ya hear me?!?" Applejack said with her voice raised a little bit. She was about to lose her temper and was ready to attack Lumberjack with her fists ready to punch her in the face. Lumberjack decided to go with the flow and let her fight her. She rolled her red eyes and got out her axe. But before she could reply, Applejack said to her, "No weapons allowed. Just yerself." Lumberjack groaned. "Fine," she said as she put her axe away and got into the same fighting stance. Now they both were ready to fight. After the start, Applejack punched her in the face, like she said. Then punched her in the jaw and then kicked her on the gut. Lumberjack punched her in the gut and then on the jaw. Applejack picked her up, spinned her so many times and threw her off course. Shortly afterwards, Lumberjack came back for an another attack, but Applejack blocked it. While the two were still fighting, Rainbow and Pinkie watched the fight as if it was a wrestling match, and cheered for Applejack. It seemed pretty much like an even match. When Lumberjack was about to make her final attack, Applejack dodged it. She was knocked down to the ground and couldn't move any muscle at all. Applejack pulled both of Lumberjack's legs using her all of her strength to break them off or rip/tear it off from the body. "One! Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! Seven! Eight! Nine! Ten! She's defeated!" Rainbow said with a victory dab, "Good guys win, and bad guys lose!" "Now a deal's a deal, sugarcube," said Applejack as she released Lumberjack's legs, "Get outta my body and don't ya dare try ta control me ever again." Lumberjack glared at her for her loss in the fight. When the full moon was risen, it shined on Lumberjack and began to suffer from its moonlight. As she was disappearing, she was sucked into the mirror and was locked up in the mirror prison. Applejack smashed up the mirror and made sure Lumberjack would never escape from it. Her scars quickly vanished and her skin was restored just like before the incident. She was no longer being controlled by Lumberjack, and felt extremely happy to be free again. The dead bodies were resurrected by the power of Applejack's victory. Their skins have warmed up quickly and those who had their heads cut off got their heads back onto their bodies. They never felt so much alive as they were before they were killed. Even Thrush was very happy to be alive again. "I...I'm alive again!!!!" she exclaimed, "How did that happen?!? I thought I was dead!" "Not anymore, sugarcube," Applejack said to her. Thrush saw her and asked her, "Um...did you happen to...bring me back to life?" "I sure did," Applejack replied, "When the full moon was fad'n away, I saw yer body and yer chopped off head leanin' against the tree over there." She pointed to the tree where Thrush's body and head leaned into. "That no good varmint who killed ya was Lumberjack, my evil clone," she continued as Thrush continued listening to her, "But other than that, the rest of it is a long story. Oh, I fergot ta introduce myself! I'm Applejack. What's yer name?" "Thrush Sentry," Thrush said. "Ya related ta Flash Sentry?" Applejack asked. "No I'm not," replied Thrush, "I'm a different Sentry." They became friends and Applejack continued to tell Thrush the whole story she went through. The next day, Applejack thanked Princess Twilight, Sunset and the rest of her friends for helping her deal with that situation. Princess Twilight smiled, picked up Spike and went through the portal that lead her back to Equestria. It was nice seeing her again. Sunset, Sci-Twi, Rainbow, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rarity went inside the main entrance. Just then, Applejack got a text message from Thrush that said, "Thanks again for saving me. I hope we'll see each other again someday." That made her smile. She texted back with a message that said "Yer welcome, and I feel exactly the same way," and sent it to Thrush. She was glad that she made a new friend who was resurrected by her victory over Lumberjack, so she did the victory dab like Rainbow did, smiled and went inside the main entrance of Canterlot High. //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome Back, Applejack! //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome Back, Applejack! After several months of recovery, Applejack felt a lot better, but was still in her hospital gown and covered in bandages. The doctors and the surgeons took her to the surgery room and put her on anesthesia again to remove the stitches from the scars from where she had been cut on. After the stitch removal, she had her strength back and could move a lot more. She couldn't be more happier than she was, and thanked the doctors and the surgeons for helping her. When they confirmed that she was ready enough to go back home, they called her family and told them that she would be coming home soon. Applebloom jumped up and down of happiness and excitement because she had been wanting Applejack to be home for months. A few minutes later, the car dropped by and Applejack came out of it. Applebloom ran to her and hugged her for coming back home. Applejack hugged her back. "I couldn't wait fer ya ta get home," said Applebloom, "I've been thinkin' about ya all the time when ya were still at the hospital." "I thought I was gonna die from losin' a lot of my blood," said Applejack, "But thanks ta the doctors 'n' surgeons, I survived and regained my strength. If I didn't get help quickly, I would've been dead by now." "Did ya know who almost killed ya?" asked Applebloom. "Nope," replied Applejack, "I was wonderin' where that rustlin' was comin' from, and some psycho came outta nowhere 'n' tried ta kill me three times. My right thigh, my left arm, and down b'tween my neck and my collar bone. I think that varmint was tryin' ta cut my head off!" "Off with yer head?" asked Applebloom. "Exactly," Applejack replied again, "But as long as I'm still livin', we can still live t'gether." They snuggled each other and came into the house. When the doctors drove away, Granny placed a special treat she made on the kitchen table. The treat looked like an apple pie, covered with glaze and with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top. "I made this for you while ya were recoverin'," she said as she hugged Applejack, "It's a token of 'we miss ya'." "Aw shucks, Granny," said Applejack, "Thanks fer doin' that." "Anytime, dearie," replied Granny. Applejack appreciated everything her family did for her. It was very thoughtful of them to welcome her back home. She was touched in her heart by their welcoming smiles and didn't know what to say. She was speechless but didn't care about it. All she cared about was to be together with her family. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Sudden Change //-------------------------------------------------------// A Sudden Change That night, Applejack started to feel weird. She didn't know whether if it was just her, or something bad was going to happen. Probably her medications she was taking? Lack of energy? Her reaction from the chemicals that were supposed to help her live longer? Whatever the cause was, it was making her feel that way. When the full moon shined on her, Applejack felt the terrible sting in her head and she collapsed onto the floor. "AAAHHHH!!!" she screamed while holding onto her head, "WHAT'S HAPPENIN' TA ME?!?!?!?!?" While struggling, the cursed magic flew around her and struck her. Her everyday clothes turned into a red and black plaid shirt with a while shirt underneath it, and dark denim overalls with gold brass buttons, one broken off from the left side, had an apple marking on the small pocket in the front, and darker toned cowgirl boots. The red holder for her long blonde hair was snapped off of it and her hair went wild. Her cowgirl hat was replaced with an orange knitted head cap, the little red cloth was added to her neck and finally, her eyes turned from emerald green to devil red. After she's been transformed, her personality began to change quickly from good to evil. "I..I..feel..b-better than b'fore!" she said, "Now I need a new name." Then she saw an axe outside of the barn, and had an idea. Satisfied, she made an evil gesture on her face. "And I just found it." she said, "I ain't Applejack anymore. Now, I'll be called.....LUMBERJACK!!!" Lumberjack let out her evil laugh as the cursed magic inside of her made her glow as bright as the sun. Then she went outside, grabbed the axe and headed towards the same forest and looked for something that held the tools she would need. There, she saw a lonely shed in the middle of the forest and went towards it. "This shed should do nicely," she said as she opened the door. Inside the shed, she found a lot of axes, chainsaws, and ropes. Lumberjack gestured an evil smile approvingly and marked this shed HERS, and made a threatening vow. "If any person approaches to my shed, that person will have ta suffer the consequence, and die," said Lumberjack, "One way er another, that trespasser will either be hanged up on my rope, er be beheaded with my trusty axe." Author's Note Lumberjack is the dark side of Applejack. She was first transformed when the moon was full and that was the time the cursed magic controled Applejack's body to kill many people who trespass towards the shed in the forest.
