Friendship is Casus Belli
Letters from the Twilights
Previous ChapterDear Princess Celestia,
Obviously I have a vested interest in my daughter, and wish her no harm. In this respect, I cannot support this war. I am also tickled pink that my daughter's stars have aligned and risen so high. I could hardly oppose, and in the lower courts of Equestria, would indeed be required not to preside in a case on this topic. I am indifferent to whether she is to be third or 108th in the line, as both are magically-significant.
However, if His Highness Prince Blueblood believes he can get away with presenting you such rubbish, I will not stand in his way or in the blast radius. Perhaps you might use this as an opportunity.
Wishing you all luck and love in this,
Velvet, the Marquess Twilight, friend of the Iron Hoof Minotaurs
Dear Princess Celestia,
I surrender and/or abdicate as Princess. Friendship and Harmony are more important than crowns and titles. I couldn't possibly keep them if it were to make my friends and fellow ponies from Canterlot fight, even if I have well passed the point that I could sustain 378 independent magic flux nodes. I should write Cadence for some tips on stopping fights!
Forever your student,
Just Twilight Sparkle
P.S. Is this a test? Did I pass? Will I be sent back to Magic Kindergarten? Do you know who else cast Starswirl's spell?
P.P.S. I looked at that book on ancient Unicornian war rituals, and I think I could cut out the secondary celebrants on Bullion's Blasting for one of your or my power, if properly Talent-anchored. You'd need a prominence-based elemental modification, I think. But why would you send me that book? You know I only got an Excellent in war-magic because I could vaporize the backstop with a basic mana-bolt! I hated that class!
