Bonus Chapter: The Gift That Keeps on Giving (No Clop)

Most of the ponies in Ponyville were gathered at Twilight’s castle, practically counting down the seconds until midnight. Why? The answer is obvious: because it was New Year’s Eve!
Spike and Sweetie both sat on the couch in the living room. Spike was having a conversation with Scootaloo about the latest hoofball game, and Sweetie was just watching uncomfortably as Apple Bloom and her coltfriend Tender Taps were making out.
“Come on, guys, get a room,” said Sweetie.
“Sorry, Sweetie. Ah guess we jest can’t keep our hands to ourselves,” said Apple Bloom.
“Could you at least try? Or at least go find an empty closet or something before you two start sucking face again?”
“Alright, fine. We keep the ‘sucking face’ to minimum,” said Tender.
“Thank you.”
“So, how are you and Spike doing?” Tender asked.
“Great,” answered Sweetie. “Though, funny you should ask that.”
“What do ya mean?” asked Apple Bloom.
“Well, you see…” Sweetie whispered into their ears.
Both Bloom and Tender reacted in mild surprise.
“Oh, well, that’s big news,” said Tender.
“Yeah. Ah knew ya’ll were had gone a long ways in yer relationship, as have Tender an’ Ah, but not even we have gone that far yet,” said Apple Bloom.
“Yeah, well it just kind of happened.”
“We understand. You’re young and in love. It’s only natural that you’d want to take the next step,” said Tender.
Sweetie nodded, glad one of her best friends knew and understood.
The night continued as one would expect. Everyone had fun, waiting for the ball to drop in Manehatten and the new year to begin.
By 11:00, Spike found himself, Scootaloo, and Scootaloo’s coltfriend, Pipsqueak, all by the snack table. “So, Scoots, Pip, how are you two doing? As a couple, I mean,” said Spike.
“Oh, well, we aren’t really a couple so much as just dating,” explained Pipsqueak.
“How about you and Sweetie?” asked Scootaloo.
“Awesome. Things honestly couldn’t be better. In fact…” Spike whispered into their ears.
“Oh my Faust!” exclaimed Scootaloo. “That’s great!”
“Not just great,” said Pipsqueak. “That’s bloody fantastic!”
Spike nodded, a small grin on his face.
This was going to be a night to remember, for both of Spike and Sweetie, and in more ways than one.
At long last, midnight, and the new year, was almost here. Spike was in the grand hall, looking for Sweetie. Likewise, Sweetie was in the grand hall, looking for Spike.
The two did eventually find each other, just in time for midnight.
“There you are, Spike. There’s something I need to tell you.”
“Me first. There’s something I want to ask you. But can we wait for midnight? It’s kind of of important.”
“Alright, everyone!” shouted Twilight from the balcony. “Just twenty seconds left until the new year! You all ready to count down? Good!” Twilight cast a spell, creating a screen made of magic. On the screen was Time Square in Manehatten. Atop a building, rest the New Year’s ball.
Finally, the ball began to descend.
“Ten...Nine...Eight…,” everypony began.
“Sweetie, I love you,” said Spike.
“Seven...Six...Five…,” the crowd continued.
“And I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Spike continued, pulling a small black box out of his pocket.
“Four...Three...Two…”
“And so I was wondering…” Spike got down on one knee and opened the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring.
“One...Happy New Year!”
“If wanted to marry me?”
While everyone around them was partying, Sweetie was speechless.
“Spike, I-,” Sweetie said. “Of course I want to marry you.” Sweetie took the ring from the box and placed it on her finger. Then she embraced Spike in a big hug, kissing him on the lips.
When the two finished their hug, Spike asked, “So what was it you wanted to tell me?”
“I just wanted to thank you for my Hearth’s Warming gift.”
“Didn’t you already thank me for the charm bracelet?”
“Yes, but I wasn’t referring to the bracelet.”
“Then what were you referring to?” Spike asked, before realizing what she meant. “Oh.”
“Spike, I’m pregnant.”
