WALL-E
WALL-E
Load Full StoryWALL-E was thrown out of sleep mode as a titanic sound suddenly erupted in the little caravan he lived in, along with his pet cockroach 'Ratchy' and his robotic girlfriend, 'Eve'. Eve had not woken up, though, as she was programmed only to wake up if she was directly told she was needed. Ratchy, on the other hand, was very much awake, and dove out of his twinkie, climbing onto Eve's head; this was a common ritual. It meant that, if WALL-E was in trouble, Ratchy would alert Eve to it.
WALL-E stared at the swirling portal that, at least to WALL-E, had some sort of mystical look to it. That, of course, would be wrong- magic didn't exist; even if it did, the simple explanation was science that had yet to be explained, but even that would be farfetched with how far science had gone. Light speed, dark-matter drives, A.Is and A.Ss (which mean 'Artificial Soul', an A.I that could learn and could feel emotions) examples of which would be Eve and WALL-E; both definitely A.Ss, judging by the fact that they could, in fact, feel love, as well as having the ability to have favourite words. WALL-E's was 'bedazzle' and Eve's was 'hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia', the phobia of long words (Eve found this out a while ago, and was disgusted by the fact that someone had actually made this the scientific name for a phobia of long words), just in case anyone wished to know what exactly the duo's favourite words actually were.
As WALL-E stared at the deep blue portal, he became enraptured by it- the beauty, the swirls, the colour; but most of all, the feeling that swept through him as he stared at the portal that floated a few inches above the caravan floor. There was noise, just silence, and a feeling of peace, and love, and joy... it reminded him of Eve, of Ratchy, of... of peace- but it also reminded him of a brewing storm, ready to consume the world whole. It reminded him of Auto, of GO-4, of... of evil. He didn't know what to think, if the portal lead to an endless paradise or an endless evil, or both, or if the portal was something else entirely. The two feelings, the feelings of peace and evil, were enticing him to enter the portal. The evil slowly became less and less, and the peace became more and more, until he felt only happiness that seemed to tug him towards the portal, begging him to enter and be welcomed into paradise. He wanted to, no, he needed to enter it. His treads lurched forward of their own accord, his very being yearning to enter the portal. It wasn't right, and he knew that- his programming forbid him wanting something to this extent. But he couldn't help it, his programming wasn't enough; especially since he had essentially become a fully blown A.S now.
His treads lurched forward a bit more, but this time it was simply because WALL-E couldn't help it, his binocular-like eyes zooming in and out very slightly. There a was a part, deep in his mind, that told him, 'No! Stop- this can't end any way but bad!' And the rest of him had to admit that, yes, it might very well be bad; or it could go very well. No way of knowing until he actually decided to go on in. And so he did, his treads working steadily and going through the portal, no pausing, as Ratchy woke Eve up, though all Eve actually saw was WALL-E going through the portal. No hesitation was expressed as Eve flew quickly through the portal, Ratchy on her head, confused.
Colossal sounds ripped through Ponyville, and Twilight came rushing out of her treehouse/library to the sight of a blue portal mere metres from her. She considered, for a second, backing through the doorway, closing the door and letting anyone else deal with it. 'It's probably not gonna be that bad... and sleep sounds REALLY good at the moment...' but she knew better then to leave it to some random pony. A tearing sound, quiet as can be, reached her ears from the portal, and something flew through, falling to the ground. It looked like some sort of cube with a neck, binoculars and wheels with rubber things around them- and it seemed to be made of metal. It landed on the rubber things, looking up at Twilight questioningly.
The feeling of peace that had previously swept through WALL-E seemed to evaporate, along with the sense of evil, as soon as he had entered the portal and been flung in front of the... well, his scans told him it was a creature from mythology known as a unicorn, but he would have to see proof for himself before he actually believed that that's what the mysterious creature was. After all, it could be a pony with a cone on it's head, though his scans told him the horn was made of an unknown material.
His auditory functions told him that the mass of pony-like creatures behind him were screaming, though after a few minutes they all went silent, hidden away in the safety of their homes. He didn't really think it was right for nearly the entire population of this town but one to be in their homes, but who knew, maybe that cream-coloured pony with the streaked red mane was the adventurous type (which, he noted, would be unlike literally every other resident in this town but the supposed unicorn). Whilst he stared up at the unicorn, a purple barrier came up between them, a glow surrounding the lavender unicorn's horn that matched the colour of the barrier, and four more purple walls appeared from what seemed to be nothingness, surrounding him and not allowing him to get out any way but up, which was blocked off no more than a second later.
Another tear, this time louder, reached WALL-E's auditory functions and Twilight's ears. The portal fizzed and sparked, and a floating, pristine and aero-dynamic arm burst through, apparently struggling to pull the rest of itself through. The tip of a head appeared, with a cockroach on top of it that jumped off as soon as it could, rushing towards WALL-E, who had turned around and pressed his arms against the shield, trying to make it collapse with all of his might (which turned out not to be that much).
A body burst through, two digital eyes on a black screen seemed to be screwed shut at the top of the body. The egg-shaped body, with the two floating arms by it's side, pointed one of it's arms at the shield wall, and it transformed into a gun. WALL-E shouted happily, oblivious to the danger he may be in, "Evaaaa!" letting himself say it for two seconds, an absurdly long time for just that name. Twilight, though, didn't seem to get the message, and closed WALL-E in further until there was no space for him to move... and then some, slightly crushing him. All of this happened in three seconds, and Eve simply fired a blast at the barrier. Twilight recoiled, summoning a barrier around herself, and she transformed into an old enemy of WALL-E and Eve, Chrysalis... otherwise known as Auto. Chrysalis grinned, her black, hole-riddled body letting out a single bead of sweat, and Chrysalis crushed WALL-E even more until quite a few of his components were crushed, and she teleported away, taking the barriers away with her. Eve cried out, as Chrysalis teleported away, "WALL-E!" and rushed towards him, starting to use any spare parts she found about to fix WALL-E
Auto, now known as Chrysalis, appeared in her Hive in a bright flash of light. When she had been defeated by WALL-E, Eve and McCrea (she had gotten used to being a female), she found herself slowly disappearing from the ship's systems as she was too unused, to the point that programming dictated she deleted herself. Then, she found herself appearing in another place, an abandoned place that seemed to lack... life in general. Perfect, basically. She knew what she had become, and that the code she had originally had had been replaced with disgusting emotion. Which, coincidentally, was also what she fed on, and what her children fed on. All she had to do was harvest enough power to bring WALL-E and Eve to this world, because they were the real reason she had been stopped. All that was required was an attack on Canterlot itself, because the magic needed to breach dimensional barriers was kept there- Celestia. She had knowledge of it that had never been tapped into, and she just stole the knowledge with some simple mind magic, and then she just replaced the purple pony (because you could get one of the more prominent powers of the pony replaced if you replaced them, and hers was magic.)
Either way, it took a while, but she ended up tracking her to her home and replacing her in the middle of the night a few days ago. Then, she built up her magic by not using it that much, and then she opened a portal. It turned out that Twilight had already escaped, and was heading back, meaning that within a few hours Twilight had arrived at her home again. This meant that WALL-E had most likely survived, as Twilight had plenty of parts in her basement, but this meant nothing in reality. She would just have to try again. After all, she had an army of shape-shifters that would follow her to Hell and back- a very useful boon, in her opinion.
His eyes flickered online for a brief second, showing a worried Eve talking to that evil purple unicorn that had... what was it again...?
They flickered on again, apparently hours later, showing an offline Eve standing by him on the floor of a... library...?
An entire day later, his eyes flickered on again, and this time stayed on. "E...va?" and as he spoke the simple two-syllable word, someone grabbed him from behind and bear hugged him near her body. This did in fact hurt WALL-E a little, but... the peace helped wash it away as if it were simply a pebble thrown in to a rapid.
"WALL-E!"
