Rainbow Dash lay alone in her dark bedroom, staring at the bright moon out her window. She still couldn't believe how much her life has changed. It seemed like yesterday she was a star athlete of Canterlot High who had been pretty much admired by everyone. She had a really big reputation of being the best she was. But now, she's over six months pregnant with a child of a boy who used to love her, but then randomly began to emotionally abuse her; then soon dumped her ruthlessly. Rainbow Dash remembers the day she first found out about her child. She remembers being in the locker room bathroom, waiting for her results. It was one of the scariest moments of her life. She also remembers Trixie’s attempt of blackmail; and soon, she ended up feeling bad and apologizing. She also remembers almost participating in a soccer game, despite her condition. And even when Sunset attacked her in the school hallway.
As Rainbow Dash looks back on all the events, things were just crazy for her. There was so ice tension between her and her friends. The tension grew stronger until she finally just told them everything. She still remembers it like yesterday:
Rainbow Dash arrived home by being dropped off by her parents. She was lucky to silently escape the nurse’s office without Applejack noticing. Rainbow know she was in deep trouble, for Applejack and Sunset had found her sonogram pictures. She literally heard Applejack point out that it was a baby.
At this moment Rainbow wondered what the point of this was. There will come a time that it will be obvious she's pregnant. She would have to go to school like that and everyone will see her. Why is she still hiding it from her friends? Her friends who are like her second family. Rainbow Dash look down at her abdomen, already poking out a little bit. She took a deep breath and let out a sigh. “Well my little one, it's almost time for you to meet your second family.” She pulled out her cellphone and sent a text message in the group chat.
Guys! Come to my house at 6pm! I have some news to tell you!
Around 6PM, her friends started to show up. When Applejack showed up, Rainbow Dash was afraid she was going to make a scene about the sonogram. But instead, she gave her a hug.
“I know about the baby.” Applejack whispered. “Are you ok, sugarcube?”
“I'm so sorry Applejack.” Rainbow Dash said tearing up a little. “I was going to say something. Honestly, I swear. But I was so scared and--”
“Don't worry ‘bout it” Applejack said.
The others began to notice the tear party that's going on.
“So what's going on?” Asked Rarity.
Rainbow Dash turned to face them. Only Sunset could barely look at her, know what she's done. Rainbow Dash walks up to hat and pats Sunset’s shoulder.
“I'm so sorry, Rainbow.” Sunset began. “ I didn't know. And I'm just--”
“It's fine.” Rainbow Dash said with a smile. “Just forget about it. I'm going the fix things today. She turned back to face her friends. “Guys, I don't know how to explain this.” She Rainbow Dash began. “I'm...I’m carrying a baby.”
At that moment, Rainbow Dash was surrounded by gasps. They all thought she was joking; but she showed them her belly and they couldn't believe what they saw.
“How far along are you, darling?” Rarity asked.
“Like nine weeks.” Rainbow Dash responded.
Next thing Rainbow Dash knew she was being surrounded by hugs, and many comments about how much of a good mother she's going to be. Later that evening, they were all discussing how they would pitch in Rainbow Jr.’s life. Pinkie Pie wanted to throw parties for him or her every birthday, special occasion, and accomplishments. Rarity, who is hoping the baby is a girl, wants to make baby clothes for her and even some as she grows. Twilight wanted to read stories to him or her. Applejack wanted to show him or her how to make the best apple pies in the world. And Fluttershy wanted to sing to and help him or her go to sleep.
It was so much fun talking about the fun they would have with Rainbow Jr. Rainbow Dash witches she had told them sooner, for this had brightened up he'd situation a lot. She feels so much better about the future with a baby on the way.
Since then, things had been quite calm. Even though now the whole school knows and she gets stares everyday. But she had grown accustomed to it; knowing she may have a bright future. Rainbow Dash is used to being pregnant and is just waiting for the day he or she is finally born.
Rainbow Dash closed her bedroom curtains and laid down against her pillow.
“I hope one day, things go back to the way they were.” She said. At that moment she felt something in her abdomen. A familiar feeling that was stronger than usual. She lifted her blanket a bit and faced her belly.
“Hello.” She said. It happened again. Rainbow then knew exactly what was going on. Her baby was kicking. “Hello how are you?” Said said again. Another kick. “You doing good in there, honey?” Another kick. Rainbow Dash stayed silent for a bit to see if should would feel it again, but nothing happened. “I love you.” She then said. Just then she felt about four kicks. Rainbow couldn't believe what was happening. These weren't just random kicks, her baby was responding to her. He or she was answering her questions and agreeing with her. Rainbow’s heart what so filled that she started to tear up. She never know she'd ever become so sappy.
At that moment, Rainbow decided she wanted to be this child’s mother. It will be the hardest thing she'll ever do, but she thinks it's the best thing compared to the alternatives. And whatever happens, Rainbow hopes she kid is one day able to reach out a farther than his or her mother did.
