To the Beyond
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThey carried a satchel along their back. It was a dark night. Their dragon rested around their neck like a necklace wrapped loosely around their fur. They walked through the cobblestone streets of the city of Canterlot silently. They flew past the guards and into the castle. The last thing that was heard was a screaming princess. Then the silence of death. Guards rushed through the doors to see no sign of their princess of the sun. Only a small emerald.
“We search west by noon!” Hollered Polar Wind, captain of the earth pony guard. The troops nodded their armored heads, eyes determined to find their lost princess. Pity hid in the eyes of Polar as he shouted to his troops. He felt sadness for the princess of the moon, being that her sister has gone missing.
“Sir, you must be joking! We’ve been awake through most of the night watching out for any signs of our princess!” Shouted one of the troops.
“Silence! Do you want to be stuck without your sun or not? We must keep watch for any signs of suspicious activity”
“But, Sir!”
“I can and will suspend you from your duties if you keep this up you worthless scum!”
The troop fell silent, snorting in disgust. He could tell it was almost time to go as their leader began to pace across his platform. Eventually, the time came and he spoke once more.
"We head west!” The earth pony announced, galloping off as the others followed him. Pegasus and unicorn guards handed off flags to those who were to carry them. It was a great honor for anyone who held it within their grasp. The unicorn and pegasus guards watched as all of their earth pony guards ran west to where they saw clues of trespassers earlier that day.
Far outside of Equestria, Celestia sat in a dungeon. Chains held her hooves tightly. They were wet and covered in rust and dry blood. It smelled of smoke and mildew. The cold was what tortured the princess the most. The mare who trapped her sat in her throne. She polished the emerald crown on her head with a cloth. An aura of magic surrounded the white cloth as the mare happily shined it. A stallion burst into her hall, breathing heavily.
“My queen, we saw Canterlot guards heading in our direction. What are we to do?” He queried between breaths.
“Demolish them.”
Author's Note
Sorry if the prologue is really short! Trust me, the chapters will be ten times longer! They'll take lots of time, though.
