Something was wrong. I never wake up during the night, and I can sleep till 2 in the afternoon. I was once told that I could sleep even if a train crashed into my room. The fact that it was dark when I woke up left only two logical conclusions.

Something bad was happening to one of my friends, or someone had stolen my leftovers (EVERY TIME!).

I fell to the floor clumsily and picked myself up. First I tried to get Morkar, he seemed like the type that always knows what's going on. After a few seconds of climbing up the stairs I remembered the futility of it. Oh well.

I ran to the front door and opened it. I prepared to gallop full steam back to Ponyville. However, instead of looking outside at the road I was looking at Morkar's room. Morkar was looking out a large window at the moon.

"It's curious. The sun and moon here both have no orbit. Magic is actually pushing them around and around. Theoretically I could make an eclipse whenever I felt like it. I can also keep the moon in place and have a everlasting night. I suppose the same is true of an everlasting day. Oh I see your awake. I guess my research will have to wait. I pegged you for an early riser, so I made my deadline when you woke up."

At this moment he turned away from the window. The moon suddenly flung through the sky. The sun rose quickly in its place. If you were really looking you could see the moon pass around again.

"Wait, you were causing the moon to stay in place?"

"Well yes. I was curious when I felt magic tugging at the moon. I experimented, but I have no idea where the magic is coming from."

Well I'm going to wager that someponies are panicking right now. "You didn't see how this could be a bad idea?"

He shook his head, "I learned something out of it didn't I? So I would say it was a wonderful idea."

I sighed, "What about the life here? Everyone is probably panicking right now?"

He laughed, "Who would be awake now? I'm sure you usually wake up in the early morning hours. So the odd pony thinks the moon stayed to long in its place, no problem."

"Well besides the fact that I usually sleep until 2 in the afternoon, I could see why you aren't worried."

His face fell, "Oh dear. I think I will stay hidden from the ponies for just a bit longer. Maybe you should get going eh?"

I shook my head, "You need to explain what happened to them."

"Sorry, but I think it would be best If we pretend that I don't exist for now."

He snapped his fingers at me before I could argue. I blinked. I was in front of Ponyville on the road towards the tower. I turned around and gasped. The tower had vanished, and the road seemingly led to nowhere.

"Well that makes sense."

Well eventually someone would find me, so I might as well get this over with. I walked towards the library intending to explain something to Twilight. I couldn't tell her about Morkar or anything he told me. I just needed to make something up for now. I just hope Applejack wasn't around, or she would catch me lying again. How would I explain the moon thing then?

I wouldn't! I could say that I knew nothing about it. Ya, they wouldn't assume that I was mixed up with the moon business. I just needed a way to explain the feelings the girls got. It was around noon, so I was hoping that everypony was too busy to be at the library, especially AJ.

I opened the library door and walked inside. I heard Twilight's voice from upstairs.

"One moment, I'll be right with you!"

I stood in the main room, waiting. Twilight walked down the stairs yawning. She stopped when she saw me.

"Uh…Hi?"

Apparently those weren't the words she was looking for. She got an angry look in her eyes as she advanced on me.

"And just where have you been? You happened to miss a meeting with the princesses, and made me look silly in the process."

I couldn't help but jibe, "well you don't need my help with that."

She huffed, "I will be the one talking here."

"Are you ever not?"

She was fuming now, "Where were you yesterday?"

"Uh… didn't you read my letter?"

"We all did. Congrats on ruining any chance you had with Fluttershy by the way. You wrote that you went to a tower, there isn't a tower anywhere near here!"

Quick thinking won out in this situation, "Uh….. It doesn't say tower. It says uh… power! Ya power. See I felt this weird power
that was originating from the west."

Twilight raised her eyebrow, "Uh huh. And did you happen to find anything?" Disbelief laced her voice.

Well so far so good, "Well no. When I got close to the source it just disappeared. Needless to say this whole ordeal is over and we can pretend it never happened."

Twilight shook her head, "I think it's a bit late for that. I can see your hiding something from me, but I won't push right now. Now would you mind telling me what was up with the moon?"

Okay, hoping they wouldn't assume I was part of that was a bit silly. "There was something up with the moon?" Feigning innocence wasn't my strong suit.

"Yes there was, didn't you notice that it was up long past when it should've been?"

"Oh that, well yes… I did notice. I don't know anything about it though."

Again Twilight raised her eyebrow at me, "Uh huh. You won't be able to hide what you know forever. I'll just ask the princess about this mess. I will get answers from you, somehow."

She was just setting herself up, "Sorry Twi' I'm just not interested in you that way."

She did a double take and her face grew red, "That's not what I meant you… you… I don't even know what to call you."

"I think the word you're looking for is perv. Aren't you supposed to be really smart or something?"

"Shut up."

I laughed, "Well I gotta go! Plenty of things to get done today."

"Fine you can leave, but I want you back here by night time. Princess Celestia wants to ask you some things."

"Tell her that though I'm flattered, I can't make it to the special dinner for two she had planned."

I could almost hear the smoke coming off of Twilight as I left. Something about me just pissed her off. Something about her being pissed off was just hilarious. A great combination indeed. I had to put on my serious face though. It was time to talk to Fluttershy.

Excitement didn't flood me as I walked towards her house this time. Dread had replaced it. I hadn't noticed it at first, probably because I was stuck on trying to retain my human outlook, but I did have feelings for Fluttershy. I had promised myself that I wouldn't fall for any of these ponies, but now that I was here it was almost impossible not to.

I tried to think of what I should say to her, but I couldn't think of anything good. I was never one for plans. Before I could really think out anything I was at Fluttershy's place. I didn't hesitate and knocked. For a few seconds I hoped that she wasn't home. However, the door opened to reveal half of Fluttershy's face.

"Oh…um…hi…"

Well good thing this wasn't awkward. Well in for a penny, in for a pound (I know what that means, but how does it mean that?).

"Hi. Can we uh talk?"

She looked like she wanted to refuse, but she stepped out anyway. She nearly fell out actually, odd.

"Um…sure."

We stood there not looking at each other for awhile. The silence was deafening. I could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet.

"Okay screw this. Yes things are very awkward between us. I just came by to tell you that whatever was going on is done. I also want to apologize for taking advantage of you. Something made you have feelings for me, and I didn't have the strength to refuse you. However, although I realize that you may not want to see me again, I have a favor to ask of you. I was wondering if you could still teach me how to fly."

There I said it. Now I just had to wait for Fluttershy to respond. So I waited, then I waited some more. Then waiting became redundant.

"Okay I just bared my feelings out and your just gonna stand there? I know you're shy, but this is a time to speak up!"
Fluttershy looked up surprised, "Oh…um… I just don't know what to say. Twilight said I should um… Well I actually still… um…"

She closed her eyes for a few seconds. Silence descended on us. Fluttershy suddenly spoke so loud that it made me jump.

"I still like you!"

Stopping to calm myself down, I had heard her say she still had feelings, but how long would they last. They were probably just left over.

Before I could speak, Fluttershy stopped me, "I would really… um… like to teach you… If that's okay with you I mean."

Well at least one good thing came from this. "Thanks" I didn't really want her to though. She would just realize how bad of a match we are sooner.

"When did you… um… want to start?"

"Actually I was hoping we could start now."

"Oh of course. Just um… follow me."

She led me behind her house into a large clearing. She turned around and looked at me.

"Um… well first you need be able to move your wings."

We spent a good portion of the day together. it got awkward again when she had to move my wings for me so I could learn how the muscles felt in motion. At first she just grabbed my wings and started moving them. That odd sensation flooded through me again as she did so. She quickly realized what she had done and dropped my wing, blushing furiously. After telling her that it was fine several times she continued. Eventually I could move my wings to my pleasure.

I had heard noises in the bushes, but had ignored them. If I had bothered to investigate I would have found Twilight, Lunar, and Spike spying on us.

It felt good to relax around Fluttershy, but I made sure not to take jibes at her. There would be plenty of time for that when I saw Twilight again. Fluttershy started to tell me how to use my wings to push air around. Apparently Pegasi wings have magic inside them that really lets them fly. By the end of the day I was pushing air around with my wings.

I jumped up and pushed the air under me forward and shouted, "Fus Ro Dah!" To my satisfaction an air cloud flew forward.

Fluttershy's confused face made me laugh. I fell over my own legs which caused her to giggle. We spent the rest of the day focusing on using the magic in my wings. Apparently this magic was very limited in the fact that it could only interact with the air.

We took a small break to eat a late lunch. If that's what you call some flowers between bread. It was a nice way to spend the day. We were just enjoying each others company and nothing else.

Eventually the sun began to sink and I had to go back to the library. I told Fluttershy that I would be back around the same time. I felt good, and was nearly hopping on the way back. Seeing that no one was around I stopped.

I placed my wings straight out to my sides and focused.

"Wuld!" I pushed all the air behind my wings in attempt to push myself forward. It worked, somewhat. I did move forward, but not at a high speed, or very far. Disappointed I walked the rest of the way to the Library.

I walked up to the front door and reached out to open the door. A voice behind me stopped me.

"You wouldn't happen to be Silver would you?"

I turned around and my jaw dropped. Princess Celestia stood in front of me looking very regal. She was huge! Bigger than me when I was human. She towered over me, making me feel very small. I wasn't about to be intimidated though.

"That's me, but who are you?"

She laughed, "I am princess Celestia, and when I heard you couldn't make it to my 'special dinner for two' I decided to come to you."

Twilight couldn't have…

"If you'll follow me we can go get dinner."

Oh she did.
