Finding Freedom
Chapter 16
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI woke to the sound of voices around me. I could still feel Fluttershy next to me.
"Nothing between them my horn."
"They are just so cute! I need to get a camera."
"Be quiet, you wouldn't want to disturb them."
I slowly opened my eyes, but I didn't move my head. I was still in Fluttershy's backyard and the sun had barely moved from where it had been. If I was going to guess the time, I would say it was around 5. The voices had originated from my left, near some suspicious bushes. Reluctantly I got up and returned my wing to its proper place. I walked over to the bushes and looked over them.
Twilight and Rarity looked up at me with sheepish smiles.
"Oh hi Silver. Fancy meeting you here."
"Were you two spying on me?"
"Well of course darling, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Besides someone has to watch out for Fluttershy."
"How many times am I going to have to day this. There is nothing between us."
I got this feeling that if this had been a bad romance novel, Fluttershy would have heard that and I would have had to chase after her. Forever realizing that we were meant to be together. However, she was still sleeping on the blanket.
"Oh come now darling, that was a very intimate moment."
"We were just sleeping."
"Well you and Fluttershy looked very comfortable."
These ponies were stubborn. I (Have a huge headache right now, my stomach is currently trying to consume itself, AND I can't feel my legs.) walked back over to Fluttershy and moved to wake her up. I stopped for a second and just looked at her. She seemed so peaceful just lying there. I looked back to see Twilight and Rarity giving me disbelieving looks.
They were right. It had only been a few days and I was hopelessly falling for Fluttershy. Even though I knew she would eventually shake off the last of these feelings, I kept going back to her. Maybe she would fall for me, and then…
At that moment Fluttershy woke up and looked me in the eyes. She smiled nervously up at me, and I couldn't help, but smile back. We didn't exchange words, but picked up the mess we had made in silence. I stuffed the blanket back into the basket and left it lying there.
I turned to look at Fluttershy, "I think that had to be the most refreshing nap ever. Thanks for spending time with me. Hopefully we can get on those lessons tomorrow."
"Oh of course, I would be glad to."
With that I grabbed the basket, and threw it at an unsuspecting bush. Hearing a cry of surprise I walked back to the library. I got there when the sun was giving off its last few rays. I wasn't really tired at the moment, but I didn't really have anything to do. I tried to read something, but the hooves made it near impossible. I was going to have to learn how to do a lot of things sooner or later. I gave up and walked up to my balcony bed.
Someone was already laying out on the balcony though. Lunar was laying down, reading a book. He was using magic to turn the pages, and was so focused that he hadn't noticed me.
"Hey."
He turned to look at me, "Oh it's you Silver."
"Long time no see, eh?"
"Well, I have been busy. I got a job working as a mail pony, and Twilight's been teaching me how to use magic."
Here I was thinking that she just followed me around all the time. "Well from what I can see, you're better at this magic thing than I am. I still don't know how to fly."
Lunar gave me a blank look, "Uh how do you use magic?"
"Oh, well apparently Pegasi wings can use magic to interact with the air around them."
He just nodded.
"So… Mailpony eh? Sounds like…fun."
"It's okay, I've been working with Derpy. I've also been spending time with Pinkie Pie. She has been teaching me how to bake."
"Sounds like you've been having fun. I've just been hanging out with Fluttershy and I worked on Applejack's farm. Oh and let me tell you about me and Celestia's date!"
Here Lunar dropped his book, "YOU went on a date with the princess?"
"Yep, and she was creeping the entire time." I told him the entire story. Soon we were laughing together as good friends do. We talked for awhile, mostly about life in Equestria. Lunar however did remind me of something important.
"I wish I still had my earth clothes, Rarity grabbed mine and threw them away."
Lunar laughed, "Ya well don't forget, your hat is around here somewhere."
Something in my head clicked, "Your right! Lunar as soon as I learn to fly, were going on an adventure. An adventure to find my hat!"
"Sure, whatever you say Silver. We'll bring the girls along just for laughs right?"
"I don't think you understand the seriousness of this quest. That hat defines me, it is a representation of my very soul!"
Lunar just shook his head at me, "Alright then, well I'm going to go get some sleep."
I looked up at the moon. Life here was perfect. With that thought I fell asleep.

AN: I know this chapter is really short, and I'm really sorry. Things just aren't going my way right now. I feel like crap, I have a test this morning, and I'm so tired… I'll try to make it up to you guys tomorrow, or later today rather, but no promises. I didn't even break 1000 words, how depressing.
