The peaceful evening suddenly came crashing down. I opened the door and noise flew out to greet me. Loud music drowned out everything for a couple of seconds. Before I could adjust I was grabbed and pulled inside, dragging Fluttershy along with me. The door slammed behind us, leaving us trapped.

"Oh good you're finally here! Get ready to parrty!"

Pinkie Pie was bouncing around, sometimes reaching places that should've been impossible. I followed her with my eyes, trying to track her movements, but to no avail. She simply moved to fast. I ignored this and walked over to Lunar who was talking to Twilight. Rainbow had dragged Fluttershy away from me when I wasn't paying attention.

"Hey Lunar, I think congratulations are in order."

"Huh?"

"Well this is a 'congrats on the new job' party isn't it?"

"Oh well ya I guess, but I think Pinkie was just looking for an excuse. Have you tried the food here? Pinkie and AJ really outdid themselves."

"No I haven't, and for right now I don't think I will."

"Oh well. This party is pretty awesome huh?"

"Ya sure. I'm not a big party guy myself, I never know what to do."

"Hang out with friends?"

"I do that normally."

"Then mingle with people and make some new ones."

Lunar proceeded to ignore me from that point on, so I had to walk around and talk to other people. I saw Caramel talking to Doctor Whooves.

I walked up to them and said, "Hey Caramel. Surprised to see you here."

"So am I, I hadn't planned on being here, but Pinkie Pie grabbed me when I walked past. I couldn't say no to a party, especially a Pinkie Pie party. Have you tried the punch yet? I think Applejack may have broke out the heavy cider."

As if to prove his point, a random pony crashed to the floor. Apparently she had been attempting to dance. Emphasis on attempting.

"Oh this is my friend Dr. Whooves. Whooves this is Silver."

"Pleasure to meet you Silver."

"Same to you. You seem really familiar, I don't know why."

"I get that a lot, I think it's because of my common coat color."

I spent most of the party just talking to ponies. I had decided to avoid the punch, just in case. I didn't see much of Fluttershy, but Pinkie had managed to drag me to the dance floor.

"Uh… Pinkie? I have no idea how to dance."

"Well of course you do. Everypony does! You just have to move silly!"

After several attempts to get off the dance floor, I eventually gave in. Dancing had never been my thing, but I did know how to jig. It took a few tries, but eventually I was able to stand on my two hind legs and cross my front ones. Balancing carefully, I began to move my legs. I lasted about ten seconds before falling.

"Wow your good at that, it's like a combo of a jig and crashing! Crashig… No Jigash style!."

I had no idea if she was trying to make me feel better, or was being serious. I kept trying, getting several looks from some of the ponies. Oh well, if I needed to I could blame it on the punch. Eventually I was able to balance pretty well, and could
even wave my front hooves while doing it. After awhile I had to get off the floor and take a break.

I walked over to Caramel again, breathing heavily.

"Well that's one way to dance."

"Never was much of a dancer. Think you can do better?"

He smiled, "I know I can."

"Prove it."

"Only if I don't have to buy you lunch."

"Fine, but if you suck then you owe me two lunches."

Draining the rest of his punch, Caramel set his cup down and walked to the dance floor. The doctor walked up and said to me,

"Well you just lost a free lunch."

"Hopefully it'll be worth it."

Caramel cleared out space, pushing ponies back. They all complied and he had the floor to himself. He waved at Pinkie Pie and the music started again. He then began running in a small circle. At first I was confused, but then awed.
He ran around a few times, but then he lowered himself to the ground. He kept going in a circle, but now he was spinning on his elbow. He didn't stop though. He kept pushing himself up, and eventually he was spinning on his head. He continued spinning in different positions, that shouldn't have been possible, until the song ended.

I stood there with my mouth hanging open. The good doctor laughed at my expression. Caramel approached me, somewhat dizzy.

He grinned at me and said, "Looks like you just lost your lunch."

I took a step back from him, "And you look like you're about to lose yours."

He steadied himself against the wall and put a hoof to his head, "Man I haven't done that in a while. Now I remember why. I think I need more punch."

The rest of the night passed quickly, but neither Caramel or I made another appearance on the dance floor. Things started to take a turn for the worst when Pinkie found the cider that AJ had brought. She simply mixed it in with the punch, and forgot to inform everyone. I stopped Lunar from drinking any, but was quite content to watch everypony else get drunk.

Caramel and the good doctor ducked out before anything bad happened, but mostly everyone else stayed. I was just watching the ponies make idiots of themselves. I was interrupted from my people watching by Lunar, who looked very distressed.

"Silver, something really weird just happened."

"What's up?"

"Twilight just kissed me."

"Wow you're right. Who knew drunk ponies wouldn't be able to think clearly?"

"This is serious! What do I do?"

"I'm not giving you the talk if that's what you're looking for."

"Stop joking man! I feel…. I don’t even know what to feel!"

I looked closer at him, he was really freaked out, "Well it depends on how you view yourself."

"What?"

"Well do you still think of yourself as a human? If so you may want to go vomit somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised, keeping those memories really messes with your perspective. However, you are biologically a pony. You’re the same species so you should feel free to do what you want. It really just depends on what you think you are."

"I just don't know man. How did you get over it so easy? Your going out with a pony after all, how is your human side not disgusted by that?"

"Look when I died I had accepted that when I came back I could be anything. I could be a tree, or a bird. I don't really have a human side. I discarded that awhile ago. No point in holding onto something that only holds you back. In my view, having a human perspective when I wasn't a human seemed stupid. I had time to get used to the idea though."

"I… I can't do it. It's just too weird."

"Your choice, you'll probably change your mind eventually though. The longer you are a pony, the more ponyish your perspective will become."

"I think I just need to sleep on it."

"You do that, I'll tell everyone that you left."

Lunar bolted from the party as fast as he could. I had a feeling that I wouldn't see him at the library later. I looked around to find Twilight, to make sure she was okay. I found here sitting in a corner, silently crying. I sat down next to her and said nothing.

Eventually she spoke, "I just though… that since he and I were both similar… that he might…. well y'know?"

"He needs time. He hasn't been a pony all his life, and its giving him conflicting thoughts. He still doesn't feel like a pony. Right now, he feels that a whole different species just slipped him the tongue."

She huffed, "I did not! It was just real quick."

"I was just joking, calm down. Just give him time, he'll come around."

"So why did you hook up with Fluttershy so quickly?"

"I have a knack for ignoring the important things."

Twilight looked like she wanted to say something else, but she fell asleep on me before she could. I set her down and told Pinkie that Lunar had left and that Twilight would be soon. I looked around to find Fluttershy, but she was nowhere to be found. She must've left before the cider came out. I went back to Twilight and got some ponies help to get her on my back. She didn't weigh a lot, and my legs were more than capable of holding the weight.

I walked her back to the library. Right now she seemed happy and peaceful, but I made a mental note to get out of the library before she woke up. I walked inside, and for the first time in quite some time, Spike was there.

"What happened to her?"

"She can't handle her liquor."

"I don't get it."

"When you're older you will."

"That’s what Twilight says when she doesn't want me to know."

"Alright then. She drank this stuff that makes you act funny. Whether she did it or not on purpose I have no idea, but she drank too much. So she passed out, and if you want my advice, make yourself scarce in the morning."

"See I totally get that, why wouldn't she tell me?"

"Maybe she doesn't want you to try it. It does make people do some stupid things."

"Well she could've just said that."

"I don't know ask her later, I'm going to put her in bed, and then I'm out of here."

I walked up the stairs and unceremoniously threw Twilight on her bed. I didn't bother checking for Lunar, he was probably already asleep. So I walked outside into the night and stretched my wings. I flew up into the sky and looked around. I had been wanting to do this since I got wings. I found a particularly fluffy cloud and pushed my hoof into it. It was so soft…

When I was satisfied that I wouldn't fall through it, I landed on it. No wonder Rainbow Is always napping, these things were so comfortable. I laid down on my back and looked up at the moon. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep, and soon I sleeping peacefully.
