Chapter 7

Is it becoming cliché to start off the chapter by saying I woke up? Well that is how my day usually starts, unless I pulled an all nighter. I opened my eyes to start my new life., but something was wrong. I was looking into space. I looked around and saw the earth. I felt like I was looking through glass.

Nothing happened for awhile , just me floating before the earth. Suddenly a hole appeared in space. A humanoid character jumped out. He wasn't human, but he was bipedal. He had odd bent legs, more like a horses, or cheetah, and large wings. The wings were like a bats, there were no feathers, but a film between them. He was tall, at least 7 ft. In his hand he held a sword… No it was my katana! The creature turned and looked directly at me. Even his eyes were weird looking, he had silver eyes, they almost hurt to look at. He winked at me and I woke up again.

Noticing that I once again was inside a tree, my breathing returned to normal. I sat up on the couch and looked around. The place had been tidied up even more since we had cleaned up after the party. I called out to see if anyone was home.

"Hello!?" I heard footsteps, and knew Spike was still here.

"Oh good to see you awake, you sleep even more than I do. Lunar told me to tell you that he and Twilight were going around town to see if they could find him a house. Twilight also said you can stay here as long as you need, but to pull your weight. There is a washroom upstairs if you need it."

I had no desire to get clean when at Rarity's house, she was probably going to clean me all over again. It would probably take forever for me to figure it out anyway. So I nodded at him and started to walk outside.

"Where are you going?"

"Oh didn't you know? I have a date with a certain dress maker." I laughed as smoke seemed to come off of Spike.

I walked the short distance to Rarity's boutique, and knocked lightly. The door swung open of its own accord, and a bell went off.

A singsong voice from above called out "Coooommmmmiiiingggg!"

Rarity came down the stairs and smiled when she saw me.

"Ah Silver! Good to see you decided to wake up! Oh but your mane is a disaster, come Rarity will make you handsome once again."

"Uhh Silver?"

"Oh I think it fits you perfectly, it was Lunar's idea after all. Now follow me."

Rarity led me over to a stool that I stood on, and she turned me to face a mirror.

"Now I need you to stay still for a little bit."

This was the first time I really got a good look at myself. I had a deep green coat, not dark, but not light either. My mane and tail were a white to rival Rarity's coat. On my flank there was a tattoo. I nearly slapped myself again. A cutie-mark, how did I forget those? The mark was a simple white shield with a design on it. A black dot was in the center, while black lines appeared to swirl around it. If I looked closely I could see white sparkles in the black.

"Very good, now we can get to the fun part."

I was brought back to reality by Rarity talking to me, and walking towards a rack of clothes.

"Would you happen to know where my old clothes are?"

"Oh darling, I threw those rags out. Now try this on." She handed me that white tux thing again.

After a while had passed that included me changing clothes more times than I could count, Rarity eyes lit up.

"Ideaaa!" She turned around and began rummaging through her materials. "It's so simple! You were hard to dress, but I've got it now. Simplicity is what compliments you!."

She handed me a black tux thing and looked at me expectantly. I sighed and took off the last garment I had been wearing. I put the new outfit on and looked at Rarity.

"Yes that's it! Why didn't I see it before! This new garment will simply make you dashing! Or maybe it will get you a dash eh?" She laughed at her own little joke.

She was testing me, trying to get a feel for my own feelings. I was always good at knowing when people were trying to find out about things without me knowing.

"Well I was hoping for a rare chance, but it appears that won't be happening."

She gave me another once over, before undoing the garment for me with her magic.

"Now go, I must work on this, and maybe that chance will grow with time."

I left the building smiling to myself, Rarity doing the same thing. I had a feeling that if I stayed much longer, I would start to fall for one of these ponies. Probably pony hormones or something. I started walking towards Fluttershy's house to get my flight lessons.

As I walked down the path the forest seemed peaceful. I decided to take a quick stop and just admire the beauty. I went a little off the path into a nice clearing. I could still see the road from my position, so I was satisfied. I laid on my back and just looked up, admiring the sky and the nature around me.

A few minutes in I heard hooves coming closer.

"What in the hay are you doing, taking a nap in the forest. Ah should drag you out of here by your mane." (Oh dear)

I looked to my side and saw Applejack standing there. She must have seen me from the road, and decided to bother me.

"I wasn't napping, I was just admiring the scenery."

"Your startin' to sound like Twi' talkin' 'bout the scenery."

"What's wrong with that. Haven't you ever just taken a moment to just stop and look around? Sometimes that's when we discover great truths." I got her with the truth bit.

She just huffed at me "Well normally Ah don't have the time to just stop. Ah do run a farm y'know."

"Well you're not doing anything right now. Pull up a bit of grass for awhile."

She complied and laid down next to me, "Now what?"

I laughed, "Now you just relax, let your mind wander. Think about whatever it is you want to think about, maybe you'll learn something."

We laid down silent for a while. Eventually I got up and started to walk back to the road.
"Now where do ya think you're going?"

"I've got to meet Fluttershy for something. Don't have all day to lie around like you."

AJ laughed "You mean your flying lessons? Ya she told me, but don't worry I won't tell anypony. You sure are strange Silver, but you're alright."

I had gotten her approval, for what I don't know, but I got it anyway. "I'll see you later AJ"

"See ya, sugarcube"

I walked down the road again towards the little hut next to the forest. I'm starting to like this place. I could live here for awhile. I started thinking about the future, but before I could get into anything to deep my stomach growled. Laughing I continued towards Fluttershy's house hoping she was willing to get some grub first.

I knocked on Bilbo Baggins' door, ready to tell him that we were going off on an adventure. At least that's how I felt. Fluttershy's house was somewhat like a hobbit house, if only it had a round door. Maybe I could convince her to get one. I waited patiently for her to answer the door. I knocked again and waited again.

"Fluttershy?" I called out. No response. I tried not to freak out telling myself that she was fine. Overreacting to something stupid would make it worse. I sat down and controlled my breathing. Eventually I calmed down, and went looking in the nearby forest to see if she was helping some animals.

I walked around keeping myself calm, but every time I looked and she wasn't around I grew more desperate. I sat down again and controlled my breathing again, I had to stay calm. After a while I got up once again and continued my search. After what seemed forever, I found her. I instantly deflated, holding all that stress in did a number on me, and my hunger. She had her head stuck inside a hole, talking calmly to some small critters.

My stomach once again made its situation known by releasing a loud growl. The noise spooked her and she tried to fit herself inside the small hole. She almost fit surprisingly.

Barely containing my mirth I said, "Relax Fluttershy it's just me, uh Silver I guess." With that I pulled her out of the hole.
"Oh.. uh.. Hi.. I was just um.. telling Mr. Badger that he needed to um.. be careful on his leg… He um… broke it.."
"Right… So are you busy today then?"

"Oh no… We can get started right away…" At this her stomach also made its hunger known. She looked down embarrassed, "Or we could get some food… If that's okay with you I mean."

I gave her a smile and said, "That would be great."

We walked back to her house in silence, and as we arrived at the door she went inside promising that she would be right back. I stood outside waiting patiently, until Fluttershy finally came back out. I looked at her confused.

"Are we not going to go in and eat?"

"Oh… um… Actually I was hoping we could go… um never mind."

Did I just get asked out by a pony? No it must be a mess in her house, or maybe she has no food inside. A pony did not just ask me out, then again I was a colt. I still had a human perspective on things like this. I sighed inwardly, life was just confusing. Should I try and pursue a relationship with anypony, or would that be wrong? I'm not human anymore, and love apparently is all powerful. It seemed a bit soon for Fluttershy to have feelings of any kind for me, Hey maybe it was love at first sight .I'd think on it later, when I had food in my stomach. I looked at Fluttershy again who was hiding behind her mane.

"Well are we going? I thought you wanted to go out."

"Oh I do, I mean if that’s okay…"

"Its fine! Now let's go grab some food."

Even if I decided not to pursue a relationship, by the look on her face I had just made her day. Felt good to help, even better that she was paying. It may not be very gentleman-like to let her pay, but I didn't have a bit to my name. We walked together towards Ponyville.

AN: I would just like to say, these chapters are short so I can write them quickly. I could probably combine a few here and there, but it's nice and simple this way. So what do you think? Should Silver abandon his humanity and pursue a relationship, or should he stay true to his humanity?
