//-------------------------------------------------------// The Great Universal War - Prologue: The War Confirmed (WIP) -by Blitz the Smash Soldier- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue (Blitz had too many hobbies to count. Some weren't necessarily hobbies. He loved video games, sky sports, hanging with friends, and swordplay. Something Blitz wanted to do for the country was make an army. That he did. The only military in Equestria is the royal guard and the Wonderbolts. The royal guard can't do that much, mostly standing and guarding Canterlot, and the Wonderbolts are more of a sports team, because not very many threats were waged on the country. But, Blitz feels that Equestria needs a proper military. A group of heroes, ready for any task. Blitz gathered a good number of normal ponies of all races, some Wonderbolts, some royal guards, to build a great army. Though, the military isn't really legal. Blitz makes sure that these ponies are hidden to Equestria, as the civilians will ask questions. Blitz uses illegal weapons, guns and explosives, in case of a crisis. When, and if, that crisis occurs, Blitz and the military will heavily disguise themselves, so that no one knows who they are. A group of mysterious heroes, something Equestria loves. He took the name of the old military grouping by the name of the E.U.P. Guard. But, right now, in the Drackenridge mountains, where Blitz trains his soldiers and holds his base, he overlooks the boot camp from overhead bridges connecting the mountains.) Blitz: ... *thinking* (I love how these new recruits are naturally fit. It makes the process easier.) ... (I wonder...this isn't really legal, but it's not illegal... Should I go to Shining Armor about this? I have thought about it... But, what would he say?) (The drill sergeant, who just sent the new recruits to run five miles, came up to Blitz, with an envelope.) Sergeant: Sire, here is the details on the new recruits. *hands in envelope* Blitz: Thank you, sergeant. You are now excused for the day. Sergeant: Yes, sire. Thank you, sire. *walks away* (Blitz completely forgot the time. It was in the evening. He hits himself.) Blitz: Stupid! I can't make it back to Ponyville now! (Blitz thought about it, and as the new recruits finish their miles, Blitz thought he would have to fly to the Crystal Empire, which was much closer. He needed to check the recruits on the envelope and get some much needed sleep. Blitz knew that everyone wasn't getting a lot of sleep. He grabs the microphone that leads through the entire base.) Blitz: *ahem* Hello, soldiers! This is your general speaking. I have some great news. You are all excused for the weekend. Nothing more. Have a great weekend. *turns off* Alright... *stretches* Let's head out. (Blitz grabs his bag of belongings, stashing away his gear, and headed out for the Crystal Empire. He thought of maybe telling Shining and Cadence, but he was afraid they wouldn't be happy, due to the fact that it wasn't organized and authorized by Shining. After a good while, he approaches the main castle.) Blitz: *landing in front of two guards* Permission to speak with the royalty. Guard: What business do you have? Blitz: A close relationship. Friends. I request hospitality. Guard: ...Sire! Shining: *off in another area* Yes? Guard: This civilian requests to speak with you. Shining: *walks over* Well, if it isn't Blitz! How've you been? Blitz: *shrugs* Been better. Shining: *takes off helmet* Did you need something? Blitz: I was traveling around here, and I couldn't make it back to Ponyville in time, and I was too far from a train. So, I was hoping to stay the night. Shining: Ah, I see. Sure! Why not? We're good friends right? I'm sure Cadence will be delighted to see you. (In the throne room, Cadence was perched.) Shining: Cadence? We have company. Cadence: Who is it Shining Armor? Blitz: Hello! Cadence: Oh, Blitz! I haven't seen you in such a long time! Blitz: It has been, your highness. *quick bow* Cadence: Oh, you can quit the formalities. *walks off of throne* Did you come for something? You're not usually the one to visit a place like the Crystal Empire. Blitz: I was traveling too far, and I couldn't make it back to Ponyville in time. I was hoping for hospitality. Cadence: That is perfectly fine. Stay as long as you need! Blitz: No, just the night is fine. Shining: I know this is out of place, but may I ask what is the bag for? Where were you that the Crystal Empire is closer than Ponyville? Blitz: (Should I tell him now? Crap... Well, he'll find out eventually.) Oh, um... *gulp* ...Drackonridge mountains... Shining: *surprised* Oh? Why were you there? It's very treacherous there. Blitz: Umm... *looks around* May I speak to the both of you privately. Cadence: Oh, um sure... Let's get to the upper levels. (They walked up the stairs into the residence foyer.) Cadence: What did you want to talk about? Blitz: Um... How do I put this...? Well, I know this will sound crazy, but... I've formed a military. Shining: You WHAT? Please tell me you're joking. Blitz: No, sir. Shining: *shocked, but firm* Details. Now. Blitz: I've gathered ponies from the Royal Guard and the Wonderbolts to form a secret military. An invisible shield. Cadence: Please, do tell more. Blitz: Well... I train them at Drackonridge. They are very loyal. Quite strong and fit. Shining: Where did you get the weapons? Blitz: ...The black-market... Cadence: But, Blitz, they mostly sell guns and explosives. I don't think they want to sell spears. Blitz: And those are the weapons we use... Shining: Blitz, you know those are illegal, right? Blitz: Yes, which is why I kept it a secret. Shining: Aren't you- Cadence: Dear, I think you can stop pestering him with questions. Shining: Right... I'm not mad, Blitz, and I'm not gonna stop you, but... Training an unofficial military with illegal weapons is kinda... Pointless and dangerous, wouldn't you say? Cadence: We've never had a serious war threat since the Changeling Invasion of Canterlot. Blitz: Yes, but whatever catastrophe that may approach us, it'd be better if we had those ready to fight on the dot. Shining: Hmm... I'm only assuming you have archives in your bag, right? Blitz: Yes. Shining: Mind if we have a look? Blitz: Of course not. *takes off bag* I want your approval. *fumbles through bag, and picks up a few archives* Here they are. Shining: *checks* ...Hmm... Cadence: "Hello, and welcome to the new and improved E.U.P. Guard. Here, you will come to train at Drackonridge mountain, every weekday, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and prepare yourselves for the next threat to our country, Equestria. Yes, guns and bombs are illegal, but we must use the tools to aid us. They are powerful, and with great power comes great responsibility. Food and hospitality will be provided to every trainee. You will be paid through salary, at $12.50 per hour. Thank you for joing the incognito military, the E.U.P. Guard. -Your General, Blitz." That's quite the starting speech for new recruits. Blitz: I tried my best. Shining: Everything seems to be just fine. I'm actually glad you did this, thanks for telling us. Blitz: Ok, just make sure that no one, I repeat, NO ONE knows. It would start rumors and commotion about how my soldiers lurk in the shadows. Cadence: Alright, but I will personally tell the other princesses of course. Blitz: I'm okay with the princesses knowing, as long as I am there personally. Shining: Great, we will leave tomorrow. Blitz: Okay, I will need to do my paperwork. *takes back the archives* Thanks for your hospitality, and approving of my army. Shining: Of course! There are food rations in the rooms, and feel free to talk anytime! *waves* Blitz: Great, thanks! *waves back to them* (Okay, awesome, they approve. Now my chances of getting a tax from the princesses to aid me has increased.) *opens room, and sets everything down* (I will need to think of a great persuasion to help me. But, now, let's do some homework.) *sits down and starts filling in paperwork*
