The Great Adventurer
Our tale begins far from home,
Where ponies played but now no more…
Where birds sing songs of a land forgone,
And those who lived left, their hopes all sore…
A stallion stands tall and proud ,
As if he were before a crowd…
But other ponies are so few,
Apart from him and his trusty crew…

The young colt sat in awe of the magnificent poetry compiled in the notebook he had discovered down by Green Back’s lake. The precious hoofwriting swayed, looped and eddied elegantly across the page flowing with an ancient energy. It told him with great insight and detail, tales of adventurers and faraway lands that ponies hadn’t set foot in for hundreds of years and judging by the state of the jotter its self hadn’t been visited for years since.
“Awww! Why did it have to rip there?” The colt moaned he had been so engrossed in reading that he failed to notice that the page had ripped halfway through the poem. “Oh well. I guess I can fix that when I get home.” He half glanced at his hoofwatch, shock spread its deadly grip across his face. He looked towards the darkening sky only proving the worst. He must have lost track of time reading and now he had forgotten to go to dinner. Hell it was nearly time for Luna to raise the moon never mind dinner time.
He rose quickly, put the ancient book gingerly into his saddle bag and rushed home as fast as his little hooves could carry him. As he galloped through the compact streets and grassy laneways of Greens Town heard snippets of what his friends and neighbours were saying as he galloped past.
“You better get home quick Dino your mama’s waiting.” Said Mrs Shamrock worriedly.
“Typical Bone their always late.” Emeralds McGee sniggered.
“What took you so long?” Sugar Snap cried in her hyper active voice.
“Dad will be angry if you don’t get home now!” warned Glass Pint.
“Don’t worry Pint I’ll be there.” Dino called back the exhaustion in his voice was evident.
Eventually Dino reached home when moon was just coming over the horizon. He swore he could see the tiny silhouette of the regal Princess Luna even though Canterlot was a three day train ride away. He slowly lifted his right front hoof fear and anticipation flooded his body and just as he brought it to the wood of the door it swung open revealing three ponies inside, his worried looking mother and father, and garda MacMahon looking as emotionless as a castle guard. Dino smirked nervously.
