Equestria Girls: Apple To My Eyeby VioletTheDragon111ChaptersChapter 1: A Big SurpriseChapter 2: An Interesting Night Pt. 1Chapter 3: An Interesting Night Pt. 2Chapter 4: Doubts and Disbeliefs RevealedChapter 5: A Big DifferenceChapter 1: A Big Surprise(Spike is human in this) "Alright that was good, but we still need to practice some more." Rainbow Dash said as the band finished up 'Shine Like Rainbows' for the third time. They had been practicing for the gig that Principal Celestia had asked them to do for the end of the sophomore year, which was three months away. Though it was enough time to practice, the band had decided that they would make a new song, but at the moment couldn't think of anything. "Rainbow, ah know ya want the band to be perfect at the performance, but I'm pretty sure we're all good for now." Applejack said as she placed a hand on her best friend's shoulder, not noticing the cyan girl's blush. "All we really need to do is make and practice the new song and we'll be fine." Rainbow just stood in thought for a moment, and then sighed. "Ok guys, practice is done for the day." The leader of the band said, earning a exhausted sigh from the others. Rainbow and Applejack laughed at their friends' reactions, but Rainbow took a glance to her crush. The farmer had easily taken her heart with her emerald green eyes, light orange skin, cute freckles, and adorable accent. The athlete had tried to do show her feelings for her friend, but they would either be super embarrassing or she would freak out. "Finally, I thought this would never end." Sunset said as she set down the guitar and sat down. "I think I lost my voice." Twilight said while rubbing her throat in a slightly scratchy tone. Her little brother Spike quickly grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to her. Rainbow looked at the girls with a sheepish grin since she had insisted on the extra practice. Applejack just nudged her shoulder playfully as she placed her bass in its container, with the others putting their instruments away. Rarity suddenly jumped up in surprise and with a small gasp causing the others to turn to her direction. "Oh boy." Applejack muttered since everyone knew Rarity was 'The Drama Queen.' "I completely forgot! Girls, sorry since it's last minute but I set us up on blind dates!" "What?!" Applejack and Rainbow Dash screamed as the others just looked in shock. A small laugh filled the room as Spike chuckled. "Man, I feel bad for you guys! I'm out!" The green hair boy then ran out of the music and room and vanished, probably heading to the comic book store. The tomboys growled since they didn't have the chance to leave like Spike, and turned back to Rarity, who was scared of the fire in their eyes. "Rarity, are you serious?! Blind dates are horrible!" Applejack while lightly smacking the fashionista's shoulder, who just made a pouty face. "I don't see what's so bad about possibly meeting your soul mate." Rarity said while crossing her arms. "Blind dates are basically TINDER dates without knowing who they are!" Rainbow Dash said, emphasizing Tinder. "You have no idea what could happen!" "Yes, yes, I know. That's why I said we would set it up at the mall, so that you two tomboys wouldn't kill me, and so that if the boys did try anything shady, people would notice and help." Rarity said while smiling since the others were stunned. She had actually planned something that wasn't crazy. "Um, well, I guess since that seems like a good plan, I'm okay with it, oh, if it's alright with you guys." Fluttershy said quietly while pushing some of her hair out of her face. Everybody slowly agreed, but Rainbow still wasn't game. "I don't know, this still seems pretty sketchy." The rainbow haired girl said as she picked up her backpack and guitar case. "Oh come on Dash. If it doesn't go well, we can hang out if you want." Applejack said while wrapping an arm around her friend, who just smiled and sighed. "Alright, I'm in. And please tell me there's no girly dresses." Rainbow said looking at Rarity, and Applejack quickly followed. "Oh no, no, no. You girls can dress casually since the boys said they'd be casual too." The tomboys sighed since they wouldn't have to wear dresses and everybody went to their houses to relax and get ready for the dates. But Rainbow Dash just sat at her desk, thinking about Applejack and the blind dates. 'What if she finds someone and dates them? What if they break her heart and she never wants to be in a relationship?' The thoughts kept swarming in the girl's head until she sighed. "Come on Rainbow, keep it together, the guys are probably just gonna be lame or jerks. No need to worry." She told herself as she held her temples, worrying about the night to come. She was worried that one of the guys would steal Applejack's heart and take her away, not only from Rainbow, but from all of her friends. Her train of thought was lost when she heard her front door open and close, signaling her mom had come home. She frowned knowing that her dad would never come home. He had left his mother when Rainbow as just a year old, and why, you may ask, why did he leave? He left because he had become a drunken ever since the athlete had been born, and had started an affair with some random chick. When her mom found out, they got into a huge fight and her dad had left them right on the spot. Ever since then, she and her mom had been living together, Rainbow doing as much as she could to help around the house and get extra money. "Boys are stupid, why do girls think they need their 'knight in shining armor' so badly?" She said, using her fingers as quotes when she said the famous phrase. "They're just giant tool bags." She said leaning on her hands, looking at the stacks of papers on her desk, all of them being either song ideas or ideas of how to tell Applejack her feelings. She then thought of an idea that would, hopefully, be full proof. She quickly grabbed a blank piece of paper and wrote a couple of lines on it. 'Every girl thinks they need their knight in shining armor' 'But I just need you and nothing more' Rainbow looked at the lyrics and smiled. She put the piece of paper in her drawer so it would be safe, since the song would hopefully win Applejack's heart, before someone else did. Chapter 2: An Interesting Night Pt. 1A few hours had passed since Rarity had surprised attacked the others by telling them she had set them up on blind dates. Though Rainbow Dash had said she was fine with it, she was still nervous, not for her date, but for her best friend's date. She was worried that Applejack would be swept away by the mystery guy and abandon her friends. She was thinking those thoughts beside all of her friends, trying to act normal. Rarity had called them and said that 'we would meet up with our dates at the mall, go our separate ways and then meet together at a restaurant nearby'. The girls had gathered at the entrance, waiting for the guys to arrive, with Rainbow and Applejack wanting it to end already. "Ah, girls, they're here!" Rarity shouted, causing everybody's heads to turn in the direction she was pointing. A big jeep that was painted dark blue covered in streaks of yellow and white pulled into the front of the mall. Four guys were in the main seats while the other three were sitting on the back edge. 'That doesn't look safe." Rainbow thought instantly getting a bad feeling. Good people don't usually have a death trap of a car that doesn't have enough seats for more than a group of four. The car stopped abruptly in front of the group of girls and the guys jumped out. The three who were on the back edge seemed a bit shaken up. "Gee, they seem interesting." Rainbow Dash said sarcastically, earning a few murmurs of agreement from her friends. "Terribly sorry for the strange arrival, but my friend insisted that we use his jeep to get here." A light purple boy, who had been part of the back seat people, with black hair sleeked back said while walking towards the girls, looking at them with purple eyes. He wore a dark purple long sleeve shirt with a silver vest and black pants with a pair of silver boots. "My name is Silver Night, by the way." Rarity just let out a squeal, and all the others knew that was her date, or at least wanted him to be her date. "And these are my friends, Pawprint-" He pointed to a light-brown skinned boy with green hair and emerald eyes (I know it sounds like Timber, but it's not!) He wore a camouflage T-shirt and dark grey jeans with dark green sneakers. He seemed to be Fluttershy's date. "Confetti Blast-" The gentleman then pointed to a calm-looking guy, who was one of the three in the back, with light blue skin and hair that was mostly pink with stripes of white and his eyes were a cheerful amber color. He wore a button-up short sleeve shirt that was dark blue with specks of pink, white and yellow with bright yellow jeans and pink sneakers. He looked like a match for Pinkie Pie. "Cal Sums-" Silver pointed to a boy that had to of be a nerd, and was the last of the three on the edge. He wore a T-shirt that had a plus and negative sign on it with blue jeans and black shoes. He had white skin with black hair and blue eyes, with a pair of glasses as well with his bored expression. He looked a lot like Twilight before she joined CHS. "Fireball-" The boy's finger led to a tough looking boy with light orange skin. He had dark red hair with a single stripe of orange and had bright red eyes. He wore a black T-shirt with a flaming skull on it with a red jacket over it and orange jeans with a pair of red sneakers. He seemed a lot like the old Sunset Shimmer. "Buck-" He pointed to a country boy with a normal skin color(idk!) He had brown eyes and had dark brown hair with a red bandanna wrapped around his neck. He wore a orange plaid button up with blue jeans and brown boots. Rainbow hoped that he didn't try to woo Applejack. "And lastly, Sky Scraper, the one who drove us." Silver said, slightly annoyed at the last part while pointing to the last guy. The guy had spiky blue hair and eyes with yellow skin. He wore a white T-shirt with a spiked leather jacket and had on blue jeans with black sneakers. He had the smug look that said 'I'm the best' which did not please Rainbow the slightest. "Well then, now that I've introduced the boys, could ladies introduce yourselves?" "Rarity." "Fluttershy." "Pinkie Pie!" "Twilight Sparkle." "Sunset Shimmer." "Applejack." "Rainbow Dash." The girls each said their names to the boys, while Rainbow said hers through a blank expression. She became even more worried seeing that Buck was basically like Applejack, which might make her fall for him. "Splendid! Now then, shall we get on with our dates?" Silver said while holding out his arm, which Rarity instantly grabbed. They walks into the mall with the others joining their dates. "So, let me guess, your friend forced you to go on the date?" Pawprint asked Fluttershy as they walked around the mall. "Oh, yes, how in the world did you know?" Fluttershy said, shocked that the complete stranger knew the situation. "Silver Night forced all of us. He thinks that we need to find our 'significant other' soon." "Well, Rarity didn't force us, per say, she just told us and we decided to just go with it." The shy girl said while twiddling her thumbs, since she had never been on a date. "Of course, I think she would have made us go anyway, she is persuasive like that." "Heh, well me and the guys know to listen to Silver or we'll never hear the end of it." Pawprint chuckled while Flutterhsy giggled along. The girl suddenly stopped when she saw the store they were passing. A small but quaint little pet shop was beside the pair, filled with all kinds of creatures, bunnies, puppies, kittens, hamsters, fish, even parakeets and lizards. "Oh my goodness, look at all the little animals! Aren't they just adorable?" Fluttershy said while looking through the store window, but instead of hearing a sound of agreement, she heard a groan of disgust. "Animals are nuisances." The phrase shocked Fluttershy, she turned to see Pawprint walking away from the pet shop. "W-wha, why are animals 'nuisances'? They're innocent little creatures that need to be protected!" "Please, all they really do is help with luck." He then pulled out a chain that was hidden by his shirt, a golden chain necklace(animal lovers, beware) and on the bottom of it was a small little rabbit foot. The shy girl just let out a small squeak at the sight. "Got it from a little bugger that wouldn't leave my mom's flowers alone." Pawprint just continued to walk while Fluttershy just stood frozen in place, the only thing running through her mind was 'He is not getting near Angel!' "So, how has your day been?" Confetti Blast asked Pinkie Pie, who was hopping up and down while C.B was just walking. "Oh my day was great, me and my friends got to practice more for our band and then Rarity told us about this date and my friends and I were shocked but we calmed down and then we all went home to get ready and I was thinking 'Man, I'm gonna need to plan a party if me or any of my friends actually date the guys we meet!" Pinkie then took a deep gasp of air since she spoke the whole paragraph in one breath. C.B just looked at her in shock and just kept walking. "So, you're part of a band? That's cool. You also plan parties, is that correct?" "Yeah, my friends call me the 'Super Duper Party Person!' I make the best parties! Do you like parties?!" Pinkie said leaning towards C.B,Moho just slightly backed up. "Well, yeah I REALLY LOVE PARTIES!!!" Pinkie jumped back when Confetti screamed. "Uh, are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm COMPLETELY FINE!!!" The next scream made Pinkie duck behind a nearby bush. C.B saw how the girl reacted and facepalmed. "Sorry, I lose control of myself at times. I have this weird thing where I'll RANDOMLY SCREAM at times, which causes most people to RUN away." "Um, that would of been good to know earlier." Pinkie said slowly backing out from the bush. She was slightly scared of the boy honestly, mostly because it would cause a big scare if they were just talking and suddenly he screamed something that sounded like bloody murder. It might also ruin surprise parties and gatherings, which Pinkie Pie was known for. "So, what are your interests?" Twilight asked Cal since he had been very quiet while looking at some sort of notebook. "Mathematics, science, chemistry, and trying to answer the questions of the world." Cal said blankly still looking at the book, earning a wide-eyed look from the science girl. "Um, that's... cool. So, how often do you hang out with your friends?" "Rarely." The single word slightly shocked Twilight since he seemed well acquainted with the other boys. "Why, I mean, why wouldn't you hang out with them?" "Because it's a complete waste of time, spending time with people that don't even care for you. I feel as if the world would be better if we just stayed to ourself and live on our own." Cal said blankly while turning a page of his notebook, while Twilight stayed quiet... on the outside. 'What in the world is up with this guy?! He does realize that we need interaction right?! Technically the next generation depends on interaction between people!!" "So I heard that you're part of Canterlot High, right?" Fireball asked Sunset while they were walking around the plaza. "Yeah, it's a pretty exciting school, with all of the magic and adventures we have." "From what I've heard, you and one of your friends became magic obsessed. That sounds awesome!" Sunset was taken aback, he had heard of what had happened to them, and he thought it was cool? "Actually, it's not cool. Me and Twilight lost control of ourselves from the magic, and nearly caused havoc." "Yeah, nearly! It has to take someone who handles danger, like me. I could control the magic in a blink of an eye." "No you couldn't, no one could control magic like that. I nearly hurt my friends because of the magic that infested me, same with Twilight!" "Oh please, you guys are just weak." Fireball then walked off, while Sunset trudged behind, trying not to give him a full fledge speech of why Equestrian magic was dangerous to humans. Rainbow and Sky Scraper didn't exchange any words, Rainbow didn't because she didn't want to be here, and Sky Scraper... just didn't want to talk. Since Rarity would probably force her to interact, the athlete decided to speak. "So, do you play any sports?" "Yeah, I'm the captain of my school's football team. What about you, cheerleading? Swim?" "No, I'm the captain of the football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and kickball team." Rainbow said, slightly happier now she could tell about her awesomeness. "Yeah right. But seriously, what sport do you do?" S.S said in disbelief, causing Rainbow to be taken aback slightly. "I just told you, I really do those sports." Rainbow said, wondering why the guy thought she was lying. "Please, girls don't do those sports, they do cheerleading and stuff. Girls can't handle guy sports." Sky Scraper then walked away with his hands in his pockets, while Rainbow just stood where she was, trying her best not to punt this guy into the next country. Author's Note Hello fellow fanfic people! I didn't expect my story to get noticed and liked so quickly, so thank you for that! The next part of the story should come out hopefully quickly, so just wait for that, and have a great holiday break!! Chapter 3: An Interesting Night Pt. 2It had been an hour since the girls and their dates separated, and they came back together to have dinner at a nearby restaurant, Olive Garden(I do what I want!) They were able to get a big table, with the girls on one side and the boys on the other. The atmosphere had been very quiet, and Rainbow noticed how Fluttershy was huddled up beside Sunset, as if trying to hide. "Um, so ladie, how have your dates been so far?" Silver said, finally breaking the awkward silence. "Fine." "Peachy." "Fun." "Cool." "Awesome." "Interesting." "I-it was okay." Fluttershy finished out as the others said their answers, a few in a monotone voice. Silver gave out a small nervous chuckle at the answers and just went back to eating his pasta. All of a sudden the waiter for the group walked up, making a few of the girls give an internal sigh of relief. "I hope you enjoyed your meal, would any of you like any dessert?" Of course Pinkie listed off hers, and a few of the others chimed in as well. "No thanks, I'm good. Gotta be ready for the soccer game next week." Rainbow said since a game was set between CHS and Crystal Prep. "Heh, yeah right." Sky Scraper muttered under his breath loud enough for the athlete to hear. She just frowned, but under the table she bent a spoon to where it couldn't be fixed. Applejack was able to notice, and could instantly tell that Rainbow's date didn't go as well as she said. After the group paid for the dinner, everyone walked out to head back to their houses, while Rarity and Silver decided to continue their date. Rainbow was ecstatic that the horrid date was finally over and wanted to get to her house in an instant, but was cancelled with Sky Scraper beside her, not leaving. "Is there something you need?" She finally asked when they had walked over a few yards from the mall. "My goodnight kiss." The disbeliever said with a smirk, with just earning a confused look. "Uh, excuse me?" "My goodnight kiss, just a little peck." Sky Scraper said placing a hand on Rainbow's shoulder, but it was instantly smacked off. "No thanks, I'm not interested." Rainbow said while walking away, but her got grabbed stopping her. "Come on, it's just a little kiss." The guy said, with a slight tone of annoyance in his voice. Rainbow just tried to pull away, but his grip just got tighter and it started to hurt. "Let me go already." Rainbow said, trying her best to get away. All of a sudden, the guy's grip disappeared and she saw him on the ground, spitting out some dirty water from a mud puddle. "How'd ya score that tackle, Rainbow?" A familiar voice said beside the athlete, who became happy to see Applejack was the one who knocked down Sky Scraper. "10/10, and bonus points for the puddle." She said smiling as she and her best friend walked away. "So, we still gonna hangout?" "Of course, I said I would." Applejack said while giving a small chuckle, causing Rainbow to slightly blush. After reaching Rainbow's place, Applejack plopped onto the couch and smiled. "All right, vent." "What?" "Come on, I know you're steaming like a bull. And don't think I didn't see you bend that spoon." The cowgirl earned a sheepish grin from her friend who plopped down beside her. "You sure, cause I'm gonna rant." Rainbow said with caution in her voice, though humor was glistening in her eyes. "I'd rather just spare you the details, I mean it was pre-" "Sky Scraper." "That little bug thought he was a high and mighty captain of the football team! When I told him that I was the captain of all the teams, he thought I was joking, and when I told him again, he said that I couldn't possibly play 'a guy's game.' A guy's game?! Has he not heard of the hundreds of female sports athletes! And then after calling me a liar and basically calling me weak, he thinks 'Oh wow, I've treated this girl like trash, time to get a kiss!' What the heck?!?!" Rainbow said fuming, while Applejack just letting her friend let her anger out. After a few seconds, the athlete realized what had just happened, and sat back down on the couch since she had jumped up in anger. She just stared at her feet blushing in embarrassment that she snapped like a twig, but relaxed when Applejack wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "It's fine, sugar-cube. We all have those bad dates, and it's just part of life." The cowgirl said while helping her friend calm down. The athlete smiled at her friend's kindness and sympathy. "By the way, how was your date?" Rainbow said while brushing away her bright colored locks from her face. Applejack froze for a second, but rubbed her neck with her other hand. "Eh, he was fine. An interesting fellow fer' sure, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't date him." Applejack said while bring both arms to her chest, crossing them to make a point. "Yeah, like you said, we all have those bad dates. Wonder how Rarity is, she and that Silver dude seemed pretty happy." As if on cue, both of the tomboys' phones went off. They pulled them up to a group chat of the friends to we a new message from Rarity. 'I can't believe it, me and Silver were having a great time! And then he said we should just be friends! How could a dreamboat like him say we should just be friends?! We were perfect for each other, we both loved fashion,we were both proper, we both have a group of friends?!?! What's the difference between us that's makes us friends?!?' The paragraph filled up some of the chat and Applejack just shook her head but stopped when she saw the new message on the chat. 'One of them isn't a complete drama queen.' The comment from Rainbow earned a laugh from Applejack, and her friend quickly joined in the fit. The others posted 'XD's on the post while earning an angry emoji from Rarity, which just added to the to boy's laughter. As they started to control themselves, a few words went through Rainbow's head that seemed perfect for her song. 'You make me laugh and smile everyday' 'Nobody else makes me feel this way' Author's Note Hello again, fellow brony writers! I hope you guys enjoy this chapter, and keep on the look out for the next new chapters. Be warned, this is just the tip of the AppleDash iceberg. See you guys! Chapter 4: Doubts and Disbeliefs RevealedIt had been a couple days since the horrid dates and Rainbow easily cooled down from Sky Scraper's actions. She was hanging out with her friends at lunch, with only a single chat was going on. The girls were talking about their dates, and how they went south. "Wait, so he had a rabbit's foot on his necklace, just because it was bothering his mom's flowers? He apparantly never heard of animal transfer." Sunset said as Fluttershy finished telling everyone of Pawprint. "I know, and then he talked about how he would set up traps in the woods. Oh, it was just awful!" The caretaker said as she hid her head in her hands. "Yeah, and Confetti wasn't that good either. I mean, he was nice and all, but he couldn't control his volume, so he really scared me. He then talked about random stuff while shouting every few seconds." Pinkie said while rubbing the back of her neck. The others put in their inputs, but Rinbow got slightly distracted when she heard a small chime beside her. Applejack then pulled out her phone to look who sent a message, and the athlete caught a glimspe of who it was. She felt her heart stop when she read the name 'Buck', but quickly brushed it off, realizing that they just became friends. But she couldn't help but feel a deep pit of sadness in her for the rest of the day and on the way back to her house. The next couple of days felt like weeks for Rainbow, the same pit of sadness never leaving her. She would occassionaly see Applejack either texting or talking to someone, and it always made her feel uneasy. She kept telling herself 'It's her family, it's a friend, Buck is just a friend', but it never helped. She kept fearing that her worst nightmare was happening right under her nose, but she always doubted it, not wanting to feel the pain of heartbreak. And she wasn't the only one to notice the extra phone usage. "What do you think Applejack is up to? She has never used her phone that frequently." Rarity said as they walked outside of the school, Applejack already gone. "Maybe she's setting up some business deal, you know how her family is always trying to make money." Twilight put in, causing a couple nods. Rainbow didn't do or say anything, because she was lost in thought. 'Is it true, am I going to lose my best friend? To some random guy?' She finally had to either find out, or get it out of the way. "Listen guys, I'm Applejack's best friend, and even I don't know what she's doing. I'm gonna go and find out what the heck is going on!" The athlete then ran off, leaving her friends to wonder why she was so determined to find out. Rainbow quickly found Applejack heading to her farm, and took a deep breath, not to catch her breath, but to be ready for her friend's answer. She then walked up beside the farm girl calmly, trying to keep her composure. "Hey Applejack." "O-oh, hey Rainbow. How are ya?" The farm girl said startled. "I'm good, but... do you think we could talk about something?" The athlete said, hoping that her friend would agree. "Sure, what do ya wanna talk about?" "Well, it's about you actually. Me and the others couldn't help but notice that you've been using your phone more recently. And it's like you've been talking to someone too. Do you think you could tell me what's going on?" Rainbow said, earning a shocked and worried look. "Well, I've been talking to my cousins to see when and where our next family reunion is. That's why I've been using my phone." Applejack in a rushed tone, and she started to walk away. She was stopped by the athlete placing a hand on her shoulder and holding her back. "AJ, you know that you're a horrible liar. You can tell me truth, I won't be mad for whatever it is." Rainbow with a caring tone. Applejack just stood there frozen in thought, and then let out a deep sigh. "Alright, ya caught me. Well, me and Buck did connect and kept in touch. He was... just so sweet and caring. I just... I just didn't want to upset you guys, me being the only one who found a good guy." The farm girl said, lightly blushing. "Oh come Applejack, that's it? That's what you were hiding? We're your friends, AJ, we wouldn't be upset about something like that." The cyan girl said while giving her friend a playful punch. "I'm glad you found someone, and I'm sure the others will too when you tell them. But be careful with Rarity, she might throw a hissy fit." Her comment earned a small chuckle from the farmer. "Heh, thanks for understanding, Rainbow. I'll go tell the others now, and I'll make sure to stay clear of Rarity. Thanks again." Applejack said while starting to walk back towards the direction of the school. "Any time, AJ!" Rainbow shouted while she started to walk back to her house, smiling at her friend. When she had walked a few yards away, her smile instantly faded into a frown as her pace quicken, making sure no one saw her tears. The door of the house opened up, alerting Magenta Streak that her daughter was home. "Hello, Dash, how was-" she was cut off by the cyan girl running up the stairs to her room. Magenta knew something was up and followed her daughter up the stairs. She walked into her room to see Dash huddled on her bed, crying her heart out. "Dash, what's wrong?!" She hugged her daughter while the tears went down her face, trying to control her tears and catch her breath. "Y-you know h-how I l-like Applejack?" Rainbow said through choked up sobs. Her mother nodded, since her daughter had told her a few months before. "I j-just f-found out, she's d-dating s-some guy she met t-through a b-blind date!" She then startd to cry harder as the memory replayed in her head over and over, burying her head in her mother's light pink shoulder. "Oh Dash, I'm so sorry!" Her mother said, pushing the girl's rainbow locks out of her face, in contrast to her light blue hair. Her daughter just hugged her mother tightly, wanting it to all end, to be just a bad dream. Magenta just let her daughter cry, knowing how much her heart had broke. "I-I just don't u-understand, she barely k-knows him and she's in l-love with him? How does that happen?" Rainbow said, wiping her tears away and taking in shaky breaths. "I know sweetheart, guys just have that power over girls. I know that guys are just persuasive like that." Magenta said while rubbing her daughter's back. "I'll leave you alone so you can come down some more, ok sweetheart?" After seeing the cyan girl's tears cease and give a small nod, she slowly go up from her daughter's bed and started to walk away. She stopped at the doorway and turned to the girl with sympathetic eyes. "Call me if you need anything sweetheart." Magenta then walked down the hall and stairs, being ready for her daughter. Rainbow sat on her bed, her eyes red from her tears. She had calm down, but the pit of sadness from before just grew even more. Her hatred for boys grew as well, it now being a ball of fire in her heart. She was just staring at the ground, a blank expression on her face, thinking about how boys had ruined her life. First her dad who she barely knew, and now this 'Buck' character who she doesn't even know. She just continued to stare at the floor until a wave of drowsiness went over her. Letting out a wek yawn, she laid on her bed and closed her eyes, still begging and hoping that she would wake up, and the nightmare would be over. Chapter 5: A Big DifferenceA small 5 year old boy sat beside his dad in the hospital, waiting for his mother, wearing a simple black T-shirt and blue jeans with black sneakers. His short light blue hair contrasted with his skin, which was similar to his father's. The dad had dark blue skin and rainbow hair, with a white a T-shirt and unbuttoned light blue shirt over it and jeans. He wore an angry look on his face like he didn't want to be here, while the boy just had a smile on his face. It had been a surprise for a while, but it was soon revealed that he would become a big brother. Spectrum Flash was excited that he would get a little brother or sister, and was waiting to meet them. He quickly saw the nurse look at them and instantly ran into his mother's room. He and his dad saw a tired Magenta in the bed holding a small little bundle in her hands, a weak but sincere smile on her face. "Hey there Spectrum, meet your baby sister." Spectrum then looked over the bed at the little bundle, and saw a baby girl wrapped in a light blue blanket, with rainbow locks sticking up and out in a frazzled manner. The little boy just looked in wonder at his little sister, not hearing the grumble from his father, Prism Light, who earned a death glare from his mother. He smiled at her as she was handed to him, and his mom introduced her to the family. "Her name is Rainbow Dash." Spectrum watched his sister pick up her toys and play with them. It had been a year since Rainbow had been introduced to him, and he loved every day of it. He was trying to ignore his dad downstairs who was in one of his binge drinkings, which had started to happen frequently, and he wished his mom would come home from work. "Man, Dashie, I wish Mom would come home, I'm so bored. No offense, it's just that I can't really play with a baby." Spectrum said, he would frequently have conversations with Rainbow even though she didn't understand, but he didn't care, all he cared about was caring for his sister. "Mom's gonna be so proud, she'll be like 'Spectrum, good job!'" He said while congratulating himself, but stopped when he saw Rainbow start to make faces. "Oh what is it, Rainbow? You hungry, need to be burped? What is it?" "Spu-spe-Spec!" The toddler said loudly in excitement, earning a surprised look from her brother. "Spec?" She said again, and quickly got a hug from her brother. "Your first word! I'm so proud!" Spectrum was holding his sister tightly as they stood at the top of the stairs, watching their parents fight. Rainbow huddled against Spectrum in fear, the two year old hadn't seen her parents like it before, while the seven year old just protected her since Prism started to get physical. The man then pushed Magenta aside and grabbed his wallet and small valuables. "That's it, I'm leaving!!" He shouted as he slammed the door shut and went into the empty cold night. Magenta just walked away from the door towards the stairs, and saw her two kids staring at her. "Oh my gosh, kids, I'm sorry you had to see that. It's just that... Dad has been doing some bad things that isn't good for our family." The woman said as she pulled the children towards her. "But don't worry, we'll be fine. It'll be just us three." Spectrum and Rainbow smiled at their mother's kindness. They enveloped her in a hug and she held them tightly, trying to not show her fear while thinking of how much their life would change. "Hey Dashie, how was school today?" Spectrum asked his little sister who had just returned from her kindergarten class. The only noise was her mother going to her room to relax, and the house quickly became quiet. "You ok Dashie?" "I'm fine Spec." A monotone yet raspy voice came from the little girl as she sat on the couch beside her brother, not making any eye contact. "Rainbow, what's going on? You can tell me, I'm your brother." Silence filled the house once more before Rainbow let out a small sigh. "The kids at school called me lame." The little girl muttered while holding her head up with her hands, looking down at the ground. "What, how in the world are you lame? You're the best little sister anyone could have." "Yeah, but I can't play any sports! They called me lame because I can't kick a ball, and they can." Rainbow said as she laid back on the couch, looking angry and sad. Spectrum just looked at his sister with a surprised look, then got a determined smile. "Well then, we'll just have to change that! From now on, I'm gonna teach you about any sport you want to play, and you show those other kids who the best is!" Spectrum said as he grabbed Rainbow into a tight hug, with her giggling her head off. "Really Spec!" "Do I lie to you, Bow?" Spectrum said, returning with the nickname he gave his sister. She just responded with a shout of excitement and the siblings broke into fits of laughter. "How was soccer practice today, Bow?" Spectrum asked as he watched his sister kick the ball on her knees, with her backpack in his hands. They walked along the sidewalk as they were halfway to their house, the boy heading from his middle school. "It was awesome! We learned the normal drills and practicing making goals, and I got the first five balls in the goal in a row!" Dash said as she kicked around the ball her mother had bought for her, and she had barely put it down. "That's great! You'll be in the Hall Of Fame in no time!" Spectrum said as he smiled to his sister, earning a giggle from her. Dash continued to kick her ball, until it went too far and rolled across the street. "Stay here Bow, I'll get it." The brother said as he set his bag down, then looked across the road before running across. He then picked up the ball and turned back to his sister, who was still on the other side. "Yeah, go Spec!" Dash shouted making her brother smile, and he then started to walk across. His was halfway when he head a sudden zooming sound, and turned his head seeing a car racing towards him. "Spec!" Rainbow jolted awake, feeling tears falling down her face with shaky breath. She looked around her room seeing it was still the same, and then her eyes landed on her closet. She let out a quiet sigh and walked over to the closet, opening it to see the one reminder of her greatest friend. She carefully picked up the soccer ball and held it gently, letting her hands run over the two handprints of dark and light blue. She then sat down on her bed and rolled the ball around, feeling the memories flood to her mind.
Chapter 1: A Big Surprise(Spike is human in this) "Alright that was good, but we still need to practice some more." Rainbow Dash said as the band finished up 'Shine Like Rainbows' for the third time.
