Ghost of War
Second Chance
Load Full StorySecond Chance
The Ghost had ran after his defeat, he had been both physically and mentally wounded and now dieing as he wondered through the Russian wilderness when he was stopped by a light it was his God.
It spoke slowly "You have killed many of your kind and have been bested and here you are slowly dieing holding on to your last RPMs and you don't feel the lease bit sorry." He could feel the disappointment.
The Ghost depressed his gun and said, "So this is it, my end?"
His God answered, "No in fact a second chance." And without warning everything went white.
The Ghost turned his turret observing his surroundings when he realized he wasn't damaged anymore. By the looks of the area he was no longer in Russia which was good. He was in a valley that emptied into a giant bowl with what looked like a farm in the middle which he decided to stay on high ground and watch the farm to figure out where he was. As he watched he noticed there were no people but there were horse, that were tending the fields. He watched as they moved what looked like rocks from one field to another all day and when night came they went into the house.
The Ghost was curious, so he waited tell all lights in the house were off then as silently as he could, he drove to the house. As he got close he noticed there weren't any footprints just hoofprints. He made sure not to leave any tracks simply to not scare whoever lived here. He turned to look at the house when the front door opened and standing in it was a small gray horse with big eyes. As soon as it saw him it froze, it's pupils shrinking. He spoke softly, "I'm not going to hurt you." He wasn't sure if it would understand him as he knew of one one non-tank that could understand tanks and he didn't want to think about him right now. The horse disappeared into the house, worried the ghost silently drove back towards the edge of the bowl and shut down for the night behind a hill that hid him but he could see over.
The Ghost started up at the first ray of sunlight to hit his optics. He took in the beauty that the first morning light was creating, there was dew on his gun barrel and well everything. He watched the house hope to see the little gray horse again however it was not among the four horses that came out of the house so instead he watched them. They moved rocks from field to field for the whole day. Late in the day a fifth horse came out this one was the gray one he seen the night before. It wandered around the edge of the field looking for something, him maybe? The rest of the day went that way tell they went in the house when it started getting dark out but this time the ghost decided to stay away from the house. He shut down and waited for the morning. When the moon was in its highest point in the sky he heard steps getting closer and closer tell they were right next to him then a voice.
"So you must be who scared my sister so bad. She said you could talk, so why aren't you?." The voice said.
The Ghost couldn't turn his turret without starting back up and he didn't want to scare who ever was talking to him so he responded with, "Can you hear me? If so I mean no harm." But the voice didn't respond. After some time passed he heard steps leaving tell all he could hear were the crickets and wind, the only things that do not leave him nor try to fight him. The night crawled by but it gave him time to think maybe he should drive over by them in the morning or maybe it would be best to just leave. He didn't know what to do so he watched for the next week, he just sat and watched them.
He was having trouble getting used to the peace and not needing to worry about a tank hiding ready to try and kill him. He soon started wandering close to the house again but this time he found that the little gray horse was waiting. It looked so scared but after he sat there looking at it it spoke, "My sister said you didn't talk to her and she believes you can't but you talked to me right?"
The Ghost thought for a moment then spoke, "I can only speak to you. I do not want to hurt you or any of your loved ones." There was more silence. The Ghost was still unsure of the situation so he sat there waiting for it to say something. After some time it did.
"Do you have a name?" It asked quietly.
"Kinda, those I would hunt called me White Tiger so I guess you can call me that." The Ghost said, the whole conversation as really weird but it was real so he rolled with it.
"My name is Marble Pie." It said almost to soft to hear. They stood there for awhile before Marble walked into the house and The Ghost returned to his spot and shut down.
The morning light brought another day and yet again he watched from afar but the next day as the morning light casted over the edge of the bowl he heard Marble's voice call, "White Tiger are you awake?" He started up his engine earning a yep from Marble.
"Yes is there something you wanted?" He said turning his turret to look at her.
Marble looked at the ground before asking, "I wanted to know if I could sit and talk to you?" This caught The Ghost off guard but then again he wasn't sure what he was expecting.
He answered, "Sure."
Marble hesitated for a second before saying, "I feel good when I'm around you but I'm still scared."
He said, "Those who can communicate with tanks can sense them to and as for being scared, there is no need, I do not hurt those who aren't trying to hurt me."
Marble still looked uncomfortable yet at ease at the same time. "Would you like to live with us? As a friend?" This was uncharted territory for The Ghost. Why did Marble ask that?
"Sure." The Ghost said and they headed to the house when he asked, "Want to ride on me?"
Marble hesitated before climbing all the way up to The Ghost's turret and sat. The Ghost wasn't sure what Marble was doing when he asked, "What are you?"
"Oh are you not from around here?" Marble asked.
The Ghost answered, "No."
"Well you are in Equestria home to ponies and other creatures like Griffins." Marble replied.
The Ghost responded with, "Intresting." They got to the house and Marble got off his turret and walked in the house. The Ghost knew he couldn't go in the house so he waited.
After a minute Marble came out with two ponies in tow. One had a dark purplish coat and the other pony was the same just reversed. "These are my two sisters, Maud, and Limestone. Maud, Limestone this is White Tiger." Marble said waving over her sisters then him.
Limestone the one with a purplish coat looked at Marble and said, "We can't take care of this thing and we don't have anywhere to house him."
Marble looked defeated but The Ghost said to her, "I don't eat and all I really required is cleaning."
After hearing that Marble looked hopeful. She relayed what he said to her sister. With a sigh Limestone said, "OK it can stay but two things, one if it can help in anyway it has to and two, you get to take care of it."
Marble was happy and something about that gave The Ghost a feeling that was unknown to him, companionship. "I'll show you around." Marble said with enthusiasm and waved The Ghost to follow her.
As Limestone watched the two walk away Maud turn and asked, "You think this is what she needed?"
Limestone responded, "Yes that is if that thing is as gentle as it seems and if mom and dad let her keep it."
Marble pointed her hoof at one of the fields and said, "This is our smooth stone field, it's where we put the stones that are to get smoothed."
The Ghost was confused, "Stones? What?"
Marble smiled, "Stones you know for building and decor. These ones are garden decor."
"I thought this was a farm." The Ghost responded.
"It is well it's a rock farm. We mine rocks and stone then put them in the fields so they weather then rotate them based on how weathered they're supposed to be. Then we ship them all over Equestria." Marble said picking up a stone with her hoof.
The Ghost asked, "This Equestria, who is its leader?"
Marble looked at the sun and said, "Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and they raise and lower the sun and moon."
"Really?" It was hard for him to believe but then again he was talking to a pony. The Ghost wondered if he could meet the princesses. "Would I be able to meet them?" He asked.
"I don't know, I could ask Applejack when she comes for hearts warming eve. Then she could talk to Princess Twilight Sparkle." Was Marble's answer.
They sat there for sometime. The sun soon started dipping behind the edge of the bowl and the sky turned dark. The Ghost just sat there in Marble's company. "You know" Marble turned to him, "I have never had anyone who wasn't scared of me, let alone be my friend." He paused then said, "Thank you."
Marble replied, "I haven't ether besides my sisters and parents I didn't have anyone to talk to." She then smiled and climbed on the front of The Ghost's hull and hugged his 88. After that Marble said, "It's getting late and there is a lot of work to do tomorrow so we should head back." When they got back to the house The Ghost told Marble not to worry about him.
The lights in the house soon went off and The Ghost shut down for the night. Half way through the night a light appeared in front of him, his god. It spoke, "You are on the right track but redemption is not something that comes easy and you will stay in this place tell you have redeemed you're self." Then it disappeared and the rest of the night was peaceful.
Morning was marked by the door to the house opening then Marble calling, "Let's get to work White Tiger." With that The Ghost started up and followed the gray mare out into the rock field as the first rays of light peered over the edge of the bowl.
