It's been little over three years since Twilight Sparkle discovered the lost city of Neighlantis along with the rest of the crew of the Moby Dick, with the adventures chronicled by none other than Grape Vine under the name of "Purple Rain" as a fictional novel, and now it's 1935, the beginning of a new golden age of archaeology.

One Daring Do has recently uncovered rumors of a lost crypt in Baladi, and so she ropes a now very rich Grape Vine, a recovering alcoholic and still reeling from the death of his adoptive father Rainbow Blaze, into the adventure, along with his wife Trixie Lulamoon-Vine and Grape's old crewmember from the Moby Dick Spent Thrift along for the ride. Joining them, an older and cynical Twilight Sparkle and her student Ocellus fresh from the halls of Princeton University.

But when an ancient curse is unsealed, and an evil queen from ages long past is revived and intent on reconquering Egypt, it's up to this motley band of heroes to stop her before she unleashes the Ten Plagues on the lands, all the while dodging attempts to keep the vile Dr. Caballeron and his Gestapo agents from getting to the mummy's treasure first.
