Winter is Coming
Chapter One: Winter’s coming
Dear Santa Claus;
Hi there Mr. Claus, it’s me again; Snowdrop. I hope you’ve been well up in the North Pole and are feeding your reindeer well and that your elves are all happy too; and how is Mrs. Claus? I do hope she still makes those super yummy cookies and hot coco you left me last year. Anyway I won’t make this too long since sadly this’ll be my final letter. The doctors told me and mommy today that my condition was completely terminal and that I’ll pass by Christmas which as you know is also my birthday…I’ll be ten.
I really wish that this wasn’t the end but the doctors and mommy did all they could but couldn’t save my eyesight and the condition that took daddy is taking me too. Cryo-degeneration, a rare diseases…like super one in a million rare, and mommy contracted it from daddy…daddy from; well I was never told where daddy got it from all I know is that it happened around Christmas time a year before I was born.
Mommy and her friends did all they could to save him too but in the end he passed and mommy was already pregnant with me. I was conceived and born on Christmas did you know that Santa? Mommy always said I was her greatest Christmas gift…she’s super sad to see me go. Does it make me naughty to be glad that I’m blind so I can’t see my mommy cry? I don’t like hearing it either and the while the blindness heightens everything, my body is frozen still and my heart will give out soon.
Anyway Santa I don’t want to drain your jolly spirit, that’d make all the good boys and girls around the world sad. I only have this one wish for Christmas and as my dying wish…Please Santa, make everyone’s wishes come true this year. I wish you a very Merry Christmas Santa; as sure as the snow may fall, I too drop.

As the ice cold tears ran down the woman of pure white’s face and she reread the final words her daughter wished to have delivered to Santa, the woman pocketed the letter in her icy blue jacket and then looked ahead through the frozen tundra with eyes of white but they blazed with determined fury.
“Don’t worry snowy; mommy is gonna hand deliver this letter to dear ol’ saint Nick-“ She said with an evil devious smile as she snapped the neck of another yeti that was the guardian to the path to Santa’s workshop and stomped out another beneath her pure white(and blue blood stained) stilettos. “-Even if I have to make it snow blood throughout this damn tundra!” The woman screamed as she tossed the dead yeti into a Cliffside and then kicked the dead one beneath her into a farther wall cracking the ice and causing an avalanche…again
“Hope you won’t mind company Nicky ol’ boy, because you’ve got a Christmas miracle to make fat man! And when Snowy comes back we can all have fun in the eternal winter wonderland we’re gonna make! And you foil beasts are in my way!!” The woman snarled at the massive pack of yeti’s that surrounded her every angle.
“KILL HER!!! SHE MUST’NT REACH THE WORKSHOP!” One of the more commanding Yeti’s sporting a sash what looked to be made out of gift wrapping paper.
“She’s too strong Captain! Her magic is-gyakh!!!!” He was silenced by an ice spear from the floor through his mouth and after his screams stopped the bouncing howling laughter of the caster began
“ahahahahahahahahahha! You frosted apes think you can stop me?! No one can stop me now! I am the soul of ice and snow! The bringer of the eternal winter! I AM WINDEGO! AND IN MY PRESENCE ALL THINGS FREEZE!” The woman named Windego shouted in physcotic glee as she continued to cast her magic and impale and crush the yeti troops.
“We need reinforcements! Where in the name of cringle are the damn Christmas spirits!?” The captain questioned as he witnessed his many troops slaughtered.
“Tucked neatly away under the tree where else?! Hehehehehe can’t have them spoiling my little Snowy’s miracle and dreamland now can I?” she laughed and sneered at the captain. “It’ll be much easier on you if you just let me pass, I’m gonna kill all you apes anyway once I rule this little wonderland the fat man has been hoarding all to himself!”
“Over my dead body…” The captain snarled brandishing an ornament shield and gold sword.
“Well consider this my Christmas present to you then captain…” Windego said as she stabbed the captain from behind with her hand covered in ice and held his beating heart in her hand having vanished and reappeared from her original positioning withing the blink of an eye. “Merry Christmas” She sneered sinisterly as she pulled her hand back and froze his heart and crushed it into little flurries and then looked to the rest of the Yeti’s who still stood. “So…anyone ELSE wanna exchange Christmas presents with me?!? I’m very oooooh so very jolly today you know? What with my daughter dying in my arms on her birthday and losing everything I had to try and save her only to then have my partner and ‘friend’ stab me in the back wellllll…you know how it goes.”
She finished her rant and when it was clear that no one was going to take her up on her offer she smirked and flipped her icy blue and white hair and smoothed out her jacket. Strutting forward she’d leave the cavern without any more trouble and when she’d gotten to the point she needed to out of the cavern and to the peak of a mountain overlooking a valley she’d grin and turn back to the remaining Yeti in the cavern.
“Tis the season to give right?” She said with a malicious smile and snapped her fingers causing a massive amount of spikes to shoot out through the ice walls and slaughter the remaining Yeti, a large pool of their bluish purple blood leaking up the stairs
“Get ready big boy cause winters coming to town! Hehehehehahhahahahahahhahahahahhaahahah!!!” She sneered evilly as she looked out onto her desired target laughing loud enough to rock the mountainside. Soon she’d be together again with her little girl, she’d give her the best birthday and Christmas gifts ever and they’d live in an eternal wonderland forever! There’d be plenty of snow and ice to cover the bloodbath she’d have to make along the way but it was worth it…after all, mother knows best!

Sitting in his large red and green chair sat the big man himself, jolly ol’ Saint Nick but right now…he wasn’t so jolly. Some foolish woman controlled by grief and anger wishes to disturb the balance of harmony in the world and effectively slaughter millions in a vain attempt to revive her deceased child, and while he and his wife could understand that a mothers love was boundless that this was taking it too far and she needed to be stopped. From the next room rushed in a young elf who looked to have grim news.
“What is it jingle?” Santa asked
“Not good Santa…the yeti’s…they…she’s-“The young elf named jingled dreaded giving Santa this horrid news.
Knowing full well what he meant Santa gave a weary sigh. “I see…and what of the spirits? Gift?”
“Captured…”
“Cheer?”
“Captured”
“And Jack is-?“
“Powerless sir…she stole all his magic, it’s a wonder why she didn’t kill him” the elf said
“Even without his powers over the forces of ice Jack is a stubborn and tricky son of a gun, he’ll figure out something…”
“But what about you? Without the other spirits of Christmas and this crazy woman powered by the spirits of the Windego’s? Plus Jack’s magic? How are we going to stop her?”
“With the help of a few ‘friends’" Santa said with a grin. "a couple of girls I’ve had on my nice list for quite some time…one in particular should hopefully know just how to handle this exact little issue.”
“Ooooh you mean those Rainboom girls right? Didn’t that pink one see you once? How do you plan on contacting her? The tundra’s way to powerful to take the sleigh”
“Pinkie and I are friends on Hoof-Book that’s how…” Santa stated plainly as she logged onto his very large and high tech looking Christmas themed computer.
“Enjoying the new set up?” Jingle asked
“Gotta keep up with the times right? Anyway keep the workshop and wonderland defenses high, while we may not have the spirits of Christmas or the elements of harmony just yet, we do still have the ginger bread army, toy army, reindeer force and if she gets past all that? Well? It’s been awhile since these old bones saw a brawl; not since that time I fought Thanos but hopefully it won’t have to come to that…the elements of harmony are honestly cheating but she’s taken the power of a Christmas spirit and those aren’t to be taken lightly.”
“So how long until your message gets out?”
“The tundra is messing with the signal so it may take a while, keep toy production going and keep the other elves calm along with Jangle & Mistletoe…”
“Yes sir-“
“And keep them from UNDER the mistletoe if you can? Seriously those two need to keep their Christmas spirits in their pants or they are going on the naughty list.”
“Ahahah yes sir Santa sir.” Jingle laughed and saluted Santa and left the room.
“Alright, let’s hope I really can work some Christmas miracles…Dear Pinkie Pie-“Santa began to type his message hoping to get in all the details he currently had and prayed to the maker that these girls could help save Christmas from being no more.
