Rarity was in Carousal Boutique looking through a photo album of her and the late Princess Celestia. It has been a year since Celestia asked Rarity to kill her and the weight on Twilights shoulders. The good thing for her was is she was freed from custody after it was proven that Celestia asked her by the letter that Celestia wrote to Twilight that Twilight found.
That letter was later copied and sent to numerous protected locations. One was given to Twilight, the original was archived in the Equestrian History Museum and the last one was archived in the public library domain where ponies could read it over carefully.
Rarity has also started to go out in the public spotlight more and more as ponies have gotten over their anger at her after the reveal of Celestia being in on it. Rarity has helped on more countless of missions with her friends ever since the ponies stopped blaming her.
Rarity always wondered what would happen with her legacy once she passed on. She knew that she wouldn't be blamed and she would still be seen as one of the heroes of Equestria. She was just worried on it being tainted a bit which is why Luna saw to it that problem wouldn't occur.
Rarity put down the album and walked up to her room, making sure not to disturb Sweetie Belle. It took Sweetie Belle some time to get over what Rarity did but she did forgive Rarity and she was not upset anymore at what Celestia had done as she understood why Rarity did it.
Some of her classmates have insensitively asked how it felt to have the pony who caused the death of Celestia to be her sister and she sometimes would get so embarrassed by it which is why Cheerilee has banned her students from blaming Sweetie Belle and had made it absolutely clear that bullying Sweetie Belle or anypony would not be accepted.
Rarity quietly sat on her bed and looked at another photo of Celestia which was taken before she died. She remembered back to the night when Celestia told her to kill her. She remembered crying in her forelegs. A few tears escaped her eyes as she thought of her late friend.
She then thought about happier moments between Celestia and her as she didn't want to cry that moment. She remembered them having tea and talking to each other. Rarity missed Celestia as Celestia was her friend. Rarity is still a little bit embarrassed when she goes out to somewhere as the moment is in her mind but she has been getting better.
She was glad that Luna, Twilight and most Equestria had forgiven her though as she wouldn't have bared the prosecution. She felt lucky that Twilight found that letter and that she was cleared of the charges that they put against her and she was sorry for what she put Twilight and the citizens of Equestria through.
She wished that she had gone to the funeral as she loved Celestia. She remembered how she almost tried to refuse at the last minute on the night she and Celestia met and she killed Celestia. Right after she killed Celestia she took the documents and saved them and after the charges against her were dropped she handed the documents over to the government of Equestria and kept copies for herself.
The documents which Celestia gave her on that night contained information about her letter to Twilight explaining to Twilight that Rarity shouldn't be blamed, copies of letters that Rarity sent to Celestia, information about Rarity possibly being replaced as the element of Generosity until the charges against her were cleared and a picture of herself to Rarity.
Rarity made sure that she kept the documents during the investigation into her and then after she was cleared of the charges against her returned home and kept them in safe in a locked cabinet so that they would never get lost. She missed Celestia and sometimes cried softly about Celestia but she has dealt with these feelings by going to therapy after her charges were cleared.
She has also continued to hang out with her friends and her friends were always careful bringing Celestia up but Rarity didn't mind them talking about Celestia from time to time as they no longer blamed her. They just talked about how they all liked a Celestia or the great stuff that Celestia did as a princess.
Celestias legacy was preserved by several historians as well. Her statue got a million of visitors each month. The sun was continued to be raised by Luna. Overall the days went by without to much trouble. There was of coarse the occasional villain but overall it wasn't to bad.
Ponies made sure that Celestias legacy would never be forgotten and Celestia and her death became a subject in many Equestrian historical lessons to adult mares and stallions alike. There was a statue that was erected of Celestia that was visited by several ponies around Equestria.
Spike of coarse was also very shocked by the night of Celestias death and was heartbroken for a time at the thought of Rarity killing the princess but once the letter was discovered explaining that the death prepared he forgave her.
Rarity was interviewed by the Equestrian authorities for several hours after her innocence was declared. They didn't arrest her but she was asked to be questioned and she agreed. Thousands of amounts of evidence were documented and then stored in the public domain were it was accessible to the general population.
She didn't mind the interviews as the charges against her were dropped. She remembered back to when the death of Celestia happened and charges were pressed against her. She remembered finding out about the charges once she came out of hiding. She also remembered going into hiding and how she did it by running to a secluded area and hide there after she did what Celestia asked of her.
But nowadays she didn't have to worry about that anymore as she got the charges dropped after the letter was discovered by Twilight. She was thankful for Celestia's friendship and Rarity would never forget her.
