Our story begins in the local dormitory at Canterlot University. Our protagonist, Photo Shot, is lazily laying across the couch in the main living room. "And if you fail, you have to walk around with a sign or your back saying you peeped on the Princesses for a full day." Fire added.
"Okay. Deal." Photo said. And that the deal was made.
Around noon, Photo and his roommates got on a train heading towards Ponyville. On the train, Flash Fire fell asleep while listening to music through his headphones. Streak and Song were talking back and forth about if Photo was actually going to go through with it or not. Photo Shot was just looking out the window. The trees zoomed by as the train moved along the tracks. The green landscape seemed to repeat itself over and over as the train kept moving. Photo Shot thought to himself. What was he doing? Why was he going through with this? Couldn't he just look up this info in a library or something? Wait. Why would the princesses ever record their sex lives? So many questions flew around in Photo's mind. He began to ponder them long enough to drift in thought. His eyelids became heavier and heavier. He yawned and stretched his arms up and his legs out. Photo leaned his head against his left hand. He's eyelid slowly closed, and then he fell asleep.
Photo Shot was awoken by Song shaking him.
"Hey! Hey Photo wake up!" Song yelled. Photo Shot drowsily opened his eyes.
"What? Are we there?" He asked, stretching.
"Yeah. We're here. We just pulled into the station. Get your stuff ready." Song said. He reached up and grabbed his backpack, along with Fire's suitcase and Silver's duffle bag.
Photo got up, grabbed his stuff and walked off the train. As he got off, the scene changed from lavished seats and a burgundy aisle to green forestry and tan dirt roads. Photo took a deep breath. The fresh countryside air was much cleaner than the air in Canterlot. Photo Shot smiled at the pleasantry of Ponyville.
"Okay. We made it to Ponyville. Now what do I have to do?" Photo asked.
"First you've got to meet Princess Twilight at the Golden Oak Library. Get to know her. Then, leave about ten to fifteen minutes later. We'll joke around in Ponyville until nighttime. Then, you'll sneak your way back to the Golden Oak Library. I heard the princess lives in the upper level. Peak in through the window to see if you can find out anything about her sex life." Fire instructed.
"This goes against everything in my moral code. I'm only doing this because it could possible lead to new information Equestria has no records of." Photo responded.
"Dude. Relax. Nothing bad is gonna happen." Silver reassured. Photo took a deep breath and made his way to the Golden Oak Library.
As Photo walked across town, he noticed quite a small number of stallions in Ponyville. It was weird. "I'll get it!" A call from inside said. The door swung open to reveal the lavender alicorn, Twilight Sparkle.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Twilight asked. Photo Shot looked up.
"Yeah, I'm good. That's what I get for taking notes without looking." He said. He groaned as he rubbed his head. A hand reached out and helped him up. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. What brings you to Golden Oak Library?" Twilight asked.
"I'm here to take notes for a personal study of mine. Kind of a pet project born from curiosity, as well as other influences." Photo Shot said. He muttered the last part under his breath.
"Okay? Well, come inside." Twilight said. She moved back to let Photo Shot and his friends inside.
"I'm Photo Shot by the way." Photo introduced. "This is Flash Fire, Silver Streak, and Smooth Song." He pointed to his friend one by one.
"Nice to meet you all. I'm..." Twilight started.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle." Photo interrupted.
"Excuse me?" Twilight said, confused. "You know me?"
"Of course. Fourth princess of Equestria. Crowned after completing one of Starswhirl the Bearded's unfinished spells. Former personal student of Princess Celestia herself. Younger sister to Shining Armor, captain of the royal guard and prince of the Crystal Empire. Sister-in-law to Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, third princess of Equestria and princess of the Crystal empire." Photo said. When Photo Shot finished his rant, he realized what he had just done. "Oh crap! I did it again."
"Did what again?" Twilight asked.
"Photo has a tendency to go on a tangent when he knows about stuff. He's the perfect example of a study bug." Fire said. Photo Shot hung his head, ashamed.
Twilight lifted Photo's head and smiled.
"I find that actually admirable. It shows intelligence, as well as passion for knowledge. You remind me of myself." She said.
Photo Shot smiled a little bit. Fire, Song and Silver all looked at each other in shock. Photo hardly showed emotion if ever at all. This means that there was something about Princess Twilight that resonated with Photo Shot. Silver moved closer to Photo Shot.
"Well Photo, are you going to get the book you needed or what?" He asked. Photo remembered why he came to the library.
"That's right! Thanks bro. Princess Twilight, would it be okay if I checked out a book on the history of the royal sisters?" Photo asked.
"Of course. Come inside." Twilight said. She motioned for the four stallions to come inside. Photo walked inside, but his friends stayed outside.
"Hey Photo Shot. We'll caught up with you later. We're gonna look around town. See what it's like." Smooth Song said. Photo Shot nodded and closed the door behind him.
"So, a book on the history of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna?" Twilight asked.
"Yes." Photo said.
Twilight cleared her throat, rung up the books and levitated them with her magic. Photo Shot picked up the books with his magic, thanked the librarian princess, and made his way for the door.
Photo Shot made his way down the town street carrying the book he checked out by his side. Photo Shot reflected on the events that have brought his life to this point. Letting his "friends" peer pressure him into a research project that will likely get him put into the Canterlot dungeon. Or even worse, banished to the moon. Was this even worth the possible reward of knowledge? As Photo Shot pondered, he bumped into the door of Smooth's old home.

"Hey Photo! You get the book?" He asked.

"For the knowledge, yes. For what I have to do to get it, no." Photo said. "Plus, the book is for Celestia and Luna. Twilight is no doubt the youngest princess. So, I won't need this until later."
"Okay bro. Just take this. I know you'll wanna take notes." Smooth Song said. He handed a notebook and a pack of pencils to Photo.
"Thanks man. I know for a fact I'm gonna regret this, but if anything to shut you guys up and learn about history, I'll do it." Photo said. "I'm more than definitely going to regret it though."
As the moon rose and the sky darkened, Photo Shot prepared for his nighttime mission. He grabbed his notebook and pencil pack from the table next to the door. As he opened the door, Silver, Fire and Song all looked at him. Photo stared blankly at them. They all gave Photo a thumbs up for good luck. Photo snorted and shook his head. He left the three college males alone to do whatever pleased them. Photo had one regrettable mission in mind.
Photo Shot wanted to be done with this mission as soon as possible, and he didn't want to be seen. He put the hood of his black jacket up, and closed the hood so the view of his face was obstructed. He wasn't going to risk anyone seeing him. He fired up his horn and prepared a teleportation spell. With an image of the Golden Oak library in mind, Photo Shot teleported right outside the front door of the library. With his destination reach, Photo Shot scanned the tree for a window. He noticed window to the upper right of the library. Noticing a sturdy branch right by the window, Photo Shot levitated himself to that branch and perched himself to see inside.
When he looked inside, he noticed the Princess laying on her bed reading a book with a single candle as light. Photo Shot took out his notepad and a pencil. He began to take notes, as he planned.
"Princess Twilight prefers to read before slumber. As previously predicted, she has a fondness for books and knowledge." Photo Shot said to himself as he wrote.
Twilight marked the page she stopped on, closed the book and levitated it neatly into an empty space on the bookshelf on the opposite side of the room.
