Vinyl's Competition

"Good morning Octavia, how are you? I'm off to start some music." Said Vinyl as she walked past Octavia who was practicing her new song.

"Not A good morning, you know the pony who had A cutie mark of multiple things? It turns out they're A good DJ as well, although I don't know where the singers came from, one hops into the bushes, another comes out, not to mention there wasn't room in the one bush for all of those ponies." Octavia said frustrated.

"Relax, I bet this will all eventually blow over, it always does." Vinyl said as she took A bowl, some milk, and some wheat, then put it in the bowl while levitating A spoon over to eat the food.

"I don't think so this time, Pinkie Pie said we can have A break for A little while, usually she tries them for one party and then moves back to us, but she has them hired for the whole day saying that two days ago she heard them and was amazed at their performance, I say you and I have A battle of the bands and see who is the best musician." Octavia objected.

"Wow, already wanted to beat em' up huh? They must be real good then, if you're already wanting to have A battle with them." Vinyl laughed as she ate her breakfast.

"I don't think this is A laughing matter Vinyl, I seriously think that our musical reputation is at stake. Pinkie Pie already hired them for the whole day, for every party there is, may I remind you that this is usually our best day of the year for profits, I even hear that the DJ was considering doing it free, but Pinkie Pie said her morals are what are making them accept the bits she wants to pay them for the day. So I'm not sure if we are being replaced." The worry in Octavia's voice was obvious. Then Vinyl walked over and sat next to her.

Vinyl then said "Look, if this is that important I will head over to Sugarcube corner and ask Pinkie Pie to have A battle of music between them and us, OK?"

"Sure, thank you Vinyl" said Octavia, "sorry about my reaction, it just worries me that she is doing this, so if we can, when the battle has A date set, lets bring our best just in case."

"We can do that, I can have her set up A date for the battle besides sometime soon." Vinyl said as she started out the door.

"Well, since she's gone better go find A song for the battle that we're having soon." Said Octavia to herself, alone in the house, she walked over to her music shelf and skimmed for A song. "I can't find anything good, or at least sung by A mare, maybe Twilight has A book filled with them." Said Octavia as she walked out the door making her way to Twilight's castle. "Twilight, please open up, I have A favor I'd like to ask, do you have a book filled with songs that were made by only mares?"

"Yes! Just A minute I'm guessing you plan to have A musical battle against the new DJ in town? I heard him yesterday, his music actually sounds as good as Vinyl and yours if not better, and I'm obsessed with books not music" Twilight Sparkle said almost rambling "anyways, here is the book you requested."

"Thank you Princess Twilight, and yes I plan to have A battle against the new DJ, I'm worried that we'll lose our fans, if we do then we're out of A job." Octavia thanked.

"I think you should be worried, since this new DJ, Remix I think his name is sounds just as good, and is fresh from your music genre." Twilight thought out loud. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you worried any more than you already are, if you want I could get Spike to find you A job if you can't keep your fans, and besides, I bet you have so much in your account that you could live off interest alone, or put some money in stocks, though that's a risky move-"

"Twilight, not to be rude but you're rambling" Octavia interrupted "I could become A boxer, during the battle for Canterlot versus the changelings I was fighting them one by one, and I only killed one changeling yet through A cart at one."

"Hello, I can speak with the author and he said that's A reference to an animation called what was it again?... oh ok it was once upon a time in Canterlot by someone called KanashiiPanda I think the author said." Said A random figure that you all know as Verincila but Octavia doesn't know

"CHANGELING I GOT HIM PRINCESS I'LL RIP HIM TO-" Octavia started to yell as A purple glow engulfed her.

"Relax, that is A recent person who moved in, with the new DJ, Verincila who actually is friendly, not one of the changelings that suck on love, wait A second, Verincila why didn't you turn into A changeling that was definitely friendly?" Twilight responded.

"Oh I don't know I tried giving some to Thorax but it did nothing, I guess you didn't get the message from him about it, I can't even get my wings to glow signifying I'm friendly." Verincila replied.

"Interesting, I will have to investigate this incident." Twilight Sparkle remarked.
