‘Lil Mac Apple sat on his bed. He didn’t know what was going on. All he knew is that Granny had called him and Pa outta the fields, and that his mama was crying. And he didn’t like it one bit. He longed to know what was going on, and had sat in his room quietly for over two hours waiting for somepony to come get him. That was when Pa came in. “Mac, come ‘ere for a second. I want you to meet some pony.” He followed his pa down the hall into his parent’s room, and walked through the door. That was when he saw his mama, granny, and a tiny little bundle of blankets. He climbed up on to his mama’s bed and looked into the blankets.
Inside the old yellow blanket, was a tiny orange filly. She had a tuft of blonde hair on top of her head, and piercing green eyes. She yawned and smiled at him. This was his little sister, and he was gonna love her forever. He was gonna protect her. “What’s her name?”
“Apple Jack.”
“Hi AJ, I’m your big brother, and I’m gonna always be there for you.”
Six Years later

The little orange filly had grown over time, no doubt. She was strong, even for an earth pony, but no pony could have been strong enough to handle what was about to happen. Their mama had been ready to have another foal, but didn’t make it all the way through, and the little yellow filly barely had. It was spring time and Apple Jack and Mac went out in the fields, to get away from it. They stared at the pink blossoms on the trees, holding each other and crying. “AJ, I know it’s hard now, but we’ll get through it. And we have to be strong.” Apple Jack just nodded.
They sat, they cried, and they stared at the apple blooms. ‘’Applebloom.” AJ spoke.
“What?”
“Applebloom, for the baby’s name.”
“That’s a pretty good name. I like it.” And so they went back inside, and pitched the idea, and so she was named. However, a few months later, things began to get bad.
Their pa began drinking. Now that’s not to say he never did before, but now it was horrible. He would come home stumbling and he would hit granny. He would kick Applebloom. He would throw AJ across the room. He would smack Mac across the head. It went on for five years. And they put up with it.
One night, Apple Jack and Mac had been out in the fields, finishing their chores. They came in and it was 6:32. They were two minutes late for dinner. They ran to the dining room. Applebloom had a new bruise on her face, and granny had a new scar on her back. Their father was there to greet them with kicks. “You’re late.”
“We were finishing chores, sir.”
“You should have finished them earlier.”
“But there’s so much field!”
“Don’t talk back to me young lady! He smacked Apple Jack upside the head. She tried not to cry out in pain.
“DON’T YOU DARE HIT HER EVER AGAIN!” Mac had had enough of him. All he did was make them miserable.
“What did you say to me colt?” His father responded.
“I SAID, DON’T YOU DARE HIT HER EVER AGAIN! YOU’RE SUCH AN ASSHOLE, AND I HATE YOU!”
“You’re gonna regret that you son of a bitch!” He pulled out a knife and charged for him. Granny grabbed the girls and took them out of the room, but Apple Jack ran right back in. Mac had dodged the knife, but now he was headed straight for AJ. She gasped and prepared herself for pain. None came. She opened her eyes to see that Mac had gotten in front of her to take the knife for her. It had gone straight into his side. His breathing was heavy.
“I’ll kill you. I’LL KILL YOU!” AJ screamed. She charged right at him, sending him flying out the door. Granny came in to get Mac, and took him into the other room to bandage him up, when she saw the two ponies brawling outside in the thunderstorm.
Unbeknownst to all of them, at that moment, two Pegasus fillies, a butter yellow one and a cyan one, we're watching from a cloud above the field. "Fluttershy," The cyan one started, "keep watching. I'm gonna go get help." The pale yellow filly nodded, frightened. Her rainbow mane'd friend rushed away to find help.
Underneath them, the two farm ponies were still fighting it out. Mac stepped outside, all bandaged up. He struggled to get to his sister, then held the stallion in a full Nelson. "I told you, never come near her again." He threw him aside, and held him down. Just then, the cyan filly came over to them with the Ponyville police force. When they saw the scene, backup from the royal guard was requested, and they soon had the beaten stallion restrained. Mac walked over to him and snatched the tan Stetson off his head and put it on AJ's.
"You're gonna regret ever fucking with me you little assholes." He called out while being dragged away. "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT!"
Several months passed. They received notice of their father's execution. Apple Jack became great friends with those two pegasus fillies, and Mac took over the farm. Things were calm for a few months. That is, until Apple Jack decided to leave. She packed up one night, and left early in the morning. Why, nopony knew. All they knew was that she had left for Manehatten.
