Chapters Lake and the smiling of Stony.
Stereotypical fair
"A fair!" Lake yells as he drags Stony in, "Seems like the most stereotypicaly accurate place for this" Lake says as he lets go of Stony.
Stony rolls his eyes "I guess" He says as he goes to pick up a newspaper, Lake dragging him away from it
"How about a roller-coaster?!" Lake asks with a smile
"I don't like roller-coasters" Stony replies
"How about a ferris wheel?!"
"I don't like ferris wheels"
"How about some cotton candy?..."
"Yeah, alright" stony says, as Lake is already standing at the cotton candy stall
"How do you do that?" Stony asks catching up
"2 LARGE Cotton candies please" Lake says to the cotton candy pony with a smile, then saying to Stony "A good magician never reveals his secrets"
"You're not a magician" Stony says as he's hooved the cotton candy
"Sure I am, I was trained under the great magician Ilussio" Lake says licking his cotton candy.
"...What?..." Stony says in every essence of the word, eating his cotton candy.
"Well it's a long story..." Lake says looking to his left
"Well I guess I've got the time" Stony says
"Well, it was just after my battle with a rather large dragon named Egorgan, I woke up on the shores... Of... a.. Uh..." Lake starts to walk off to his left, saying quietly, clearly having been distracted "Beach"
"Lake?..." Stony says, rolling his eyes once again and following Lake
Lake goes around a corner, Stony was following him, until he saw a newspaper "Well, I'm sure he'll come back..." Stony says as he picks up the newspaper, reading right to were he was when Lake interrupted...
BANG
"What the Hay?" Stony says dropping the newspaper once again and running behind the building Lake had ran behind to see what the bang was. when Stony turns the corner, he see's Lake and another 3 ponies with a wagon filled with things from the shop, Lake was throwing one pony at another, one had just shot a gun, the one with a gun goes to shoot Lake again, Lake ducks out the way of the bullet, picking up a rock as he ducks throwing it at the crooks gun, jumping at him, and hitting him into a wall.
"What the hay is going on!" Stony yells running over
"Well I saw these blokes unloading a few things from this shop here, so I decided to knock 'em out real quick" Lake says with a smile, eating his cotton candy.
Stony stares at Lake, eyes wide, surprised, "Uh.. O... Okay then"
Lake gives a quick smile, then walks off back to the fair, "So yeah, Ilussio"
Lake and the smiling of Stony.
"Where are we Lake?" Stony asks as he walks into a dark room
"Do you like puppies?" Lake asks
"What?... Yes, I guess so"
A light turns on, revealing an entire room of puppies, Stonies jaw drops "You're kidding" He says as he picks up a puppy, jaw still dropped, and stares at it
"Nope, this has GOT to make you smile"
"I mean, it's good, but I had a dog when I was a foal, and well, I guess others just aren't aren't the same" Stony says putting down the puppy, and turns back to Lake "Plus that one just pissed"
Lake furrows his brows "Alright, I have a few ideas"
The following was a series of events that took, all day, including: A circus, a comedian, a mariachi band, what's apparently the most beautiful view in existence, A date..., and many over things, however none of them worked, and Lake was forced to give up and take Stony home.
The two ponies enter back into Stonies house, their legs tired from walking, there eyes tired from staring, there minds tired from thinking, they walked through the door, Lake putting on the kettle once again, Stony asking for coffee, and seeing at the door the newspaper was delivered, stony picks it up, and sits down where he was sat that morning, reading the newspaper, as Lake passes him his coffee.
"Nothing worked" Lake says sadly, his own smile now gone
"I'm just not a smiley pony" Stony says still reading the newspaper "I don't have to smile to tell everypony when I'm happy, mainly because I'm happiest, when I'm at home... Reading my newspaper, or a book, or cooking dinner, stuff like that"
"Yeah, I guess so, I"ll never see you smile" Lake says sipping his tea quietly
What follows is 1 minute of silence, as Lake tries and fails to imagine Stony smiling...
"Ha.." Stony says, catching the attention of Lake, who looks up
"Ha..." Stony laughs quietly, with a smile on his face as he does.
Lake, shocked, stares up and says
"You smiled!"
Stony looks up saying "What?... Oh, I s'pose I did"
"Why!?" Lake asks
"This funny joke in the news paper" Stony says back to his normal stone faced self.
Lake doesn't say anything, simply gives a reflective smile, and stands up, finishing his tea
"You off?" Stony asks "I was just getting used to having you around"
Lake stares back and says "Yeah, I've got a job hunting down a lost scientific abomination that's been terrorizing a small village"
"Alright, well, until next time" Stony says as Lake walks out the door, heading off, back onto the road he came from.
Lake and the smiling of Stony.
Theirs silence among the trees, nothing but birds and bugs, and one would imagine they can't be heard inside the house that one of our two protagonists is currently residing in, sitting there reading the newspaper , while he eats his breakfast.
BANG!
The blue (Not because his sad, that's what color his fur is) pony hears the loud bang, jumping up and dropping the newspaper in his cereal, as Lake walks in with a smile the size of an Ursa minor (Not really, that would be ridiculous)
"Hello Stony!" The cream colored pony (Lake) says as he puts on the kettle, starting to make two cups of tea
"Ugh" Stony says as he picks up his milky newspaper "Hello Lake..." He says in a tone which is equivalent to 'Oh Celestia dammit' "I've told you before Lake, I don't like tea, I like coffee"
"Oh? I was making these for me..." Lake says as he sits down with his two cups of tea "Do you want some coffee?" Lake asks sipping both of them at the same time.
Stony stares at Lake incredulously, but then get's over it "Whatever, yes, please" Stony says as Lake passes a coffee to Stony.
...Stony stares at Lake...
...Lake stares at Stony...
...Stony goes to open his mouth, but is interrupted by Lake sipping loudly, whilst still staring at Stony...
"What do you want Lake" Stony asks sipping his coffee and opening his newspaper, which promptly falls apart
"I'm gonna make you smile!" Lake says smiling more than he had previously
"No" Stony replies
"Why not?" Lake asks sadly
"I have plans for today..." Stony says as he closes his news paper and questions weather he should drink the milk in it
"What?" Lake asks
"I'm gonna... uh... I'll... I'm gonna work on the garden" Stony says, deciding not to drink the milk in the newspaper, as it may have ink in it.
"You don't have a garden" Lake says questioningly
"That's why I have to work on it" Stony says as he puts the newspaper in the bin.
...Lake stares at him "Really?"
"Yes"
"It's just... Couldn't you do that tomorrow?" Lake asks
"No" stony says
"Why?" Lake asks
"I have plans" Stony replies
"What, do you need to build a swimming pool" Lake asks jokingly
"No... maybe, maybe I will" Stony says realizing his cereals gone soggy "Oh hay"
"Come on, you sit in here everyday doing nothing, come out just for one day" Lake pleads
"Well I like it here, it's comfortable" Stony says as he pours out his cereal sadly
"Pretty please with sugar and on top, and a cherry on top, and chocolate on top, and just the smallest amount of like salt or something, to balance out all the sweetness.
Stony stares at Lake... "...I'm gonna regret this"
"Yeah!" Lake yells as he skulls both cups of tea, "Let's go!" He yells jumping up
"I need to finish my coffee" Stony says going to grab the cup, when Lake skulls that too and pulls Stony out the door.
