Chapter 1

It was a stormy day outside in the city of Solitude, Skyrim, and Angel had just walked into The Winking Skeever, a local inn, to escape the weather and rest up a bit.

The alicorn mare was a wanderer, living alone and stopping off in town if she was close enough to do so when the weather got bad, and to get food and rest up now and then. She almost always wore her steel armour and gauntlets, a rather beautiful snow white cloak beneath it, ribbed with golden vine-like patterns, a saddlebag on her back matching her cloak in colour and embroidery.

The mare had the cloak's hood up initially, but when she closed the door behind herself, she took it off, revealing her ice blue eyes, complimented by her pastel pink and yellow mane, her hidden tail matching her mane in colour

Soon enough a rather beautiful mare at that would greet her at the door. She would have a midnight purple coat with a mainly white mane besides the occasional streak of dark blue. Though the pattern her made had set up it looked like a Night sky. She seemed to be wearing a maids dress signifying right away what she was.

"Hello Miss!" She said cheerfully while doing a slight curtsy, "And I welcome you to the Winking Skeever! If there is anything you need help with I'm your mare!" She said in a rather cheerful attitude. Her maid's dress was not dirty or out of place in anyway shape or form. The whole in was the same way as she would see two stallions at the bar drinking whiskey of the looks.

Angel smiled warmly at the mare and curtsied in return. "Thank you," she replied. "Right now I think all I'd like is a room just so I can get some rest while the weather is bad... Are there any available?" she asked, looking around the inn briefly, particularly eyeing the two stallions, before looking back at the mare standing in front of her.

She was rather impressed at how well kept both the inn and the mare were, but then again this was Solitude, not a small town on the river, and so this was to be expected.

"If the weather clears up I might be out as soon as I can, otherwise just one night should be fine, if possible," she continued. "Also, where would the market be here? I haven't been here before, strange, I know..."

"When you walk outside, you take a left then go down the street for a moment before taking a right at the smith shop and there you are!" She said while wagging her tail slightly, "Oh and there are rooms available as well! How long do you plan on staying Miss?" She said while taking a quill and book out of sorts with her wings as she waited for a response from her.

"I'll just make it a night, thanks," she replied, and flashed another smile at the mare, once more looking around the lobby again, and then back at the mare. "Tell me, what's your name? Oh and thanks for telling me where the market is," Angel said with a soft giggle.

"No problem miss! And my name is Moonlit Quill!" She said excitedly while soon nodding and going to get a key for Angel. She would soon come back with it and give it to her politely, "Also if you want anything what so ever! Just tell me." She said while giggling to her, "You just have to pay for it tomorrow."

"Alright, thank you very much. Nice to meet you, Moonlit, and you don't have to call me Miss, just call me Angel," Angel said, winking at her. "So is it just you here or are there others?"

"Theres the owner and another pony who works the bar!" She said a bit happy still, "Though I usually just do everything here mainly and I'm fine with it!" She said while giggling to her self. She would idly fix her dress for a moment and nod.

She nodded while sitting down neatly, "Yep! All those stallions want that come in here really is just a mare to sleep with so I do that and their happy." She said with a cute smile, "And there isn't much to do! Cooking ain't hard at all and they run the bar so most stallions are happy." She while smiling, "Though most mares that come in want the owner to fix some dress for them.."

"I see..."

This was Angel's only response for about a minute, during which time she got the key to the room from Moonlit, and her tone of voice changed to a somewhat thoughtful one, one that indicated she was slightly suspicious of something too. This mare seemed oddly happy about doing everything by herself and not being the owner, not to mention sleeping with just about every stallion who came in, or at least that was what Angel gathered.

She leaned closer to the mare and asked her in a low voice, "Do you like your job?"

She nodded enthusiastically, "Of course!" She said with the same cheerful mood and manner but quietly as well so only she could here, "Why wouldn't I?" She said while tilting her head quietly for a moment a bit confused by the weird question..

"Well, forgive me if I'm wrong, but something smells a bit fishy... You seem a little too happy about it, particularly about sleeping with a lot of the stallions that come in here... I haven't heard of a mare who's happy doing that, or at least all the time..." Angel clarified before resuming her normal stature.

She tilted her head a bit confused by what she was saying, "But.. whats so wrong about it?" She said while looking at angel with a cock of her head, obviously confused as apparently what she was saying was alien to what Moonlit knew..

Angel blinked. "Well what's wrong about it is that the mare in question would pretty much be offering her body up and a sexual object to any stallion that walked in the building... That's a little degrading, don't you think?" she asked, growing more and more suspicious as the conversation went on. Why was this mare so casual about it? Angel had seen her fair share of mares doing such things as jobs, but willingly and as casually as Moonlit was making it out to be? That was another story.

"Well the owner doesn't think anything of it..." She said while now confused with her self, Was this mare she met right or speaking non-sense? No.. the owner obviously must be right, He said so to! So she shook her head for a moment, "Nope! If the owner say its alright then its alright." She said firmly for a moment.

This was enough for Angel to figure out that something was wrong here.

"Could you show me to my room please?" she asked, her previously happy smile now gone, replaced by a rather serious expression. "After which I would like to speak to your owner, if he is available..."

Angel wanted to get to the bottom of this strangeness before she left.

"Thank you," Angel said to Moonlit, smiling again briefly before entering her room, eyeing the office on the way over.

Once inside she turned to Moonlit again. "I'll see you later," she said with one more smile and a nod, before closing the door and taking off her armour, followed by her cloak. Having nothing on but her gauntlets now, she went to relax on the bed, but after deciding to take a short nap, took the gauntlets off and placed them on the bedside table before dozing off on the bed.
