Chapter One: A New Beginning Part one
It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. The sun was shining above all, birds flying in the sky. Seemed like an ordinary day. The train's wheels were making a rough sound on the train tracks as always. Inside, we see Apple bloom on a rubber seat on the train looking outside, her saddlebag on her back. The red headed filly didn't look too happy though.
"Hey what's the matter sugarcube?" Apple bloom turned to her older sister Applejack. "Your going to a school that you were very excited about with your big sis, and with your bestest friends. What are you all sad about?"
As this was said, Apple bloom opened up her saddlebag and retrieved a photo of her and her friends. She smiled at it, placed it in her bag, and closed it. Apple bloom sighed and faced her big sister. She had to look all the way up to see Applejack's big green eyes. "It's not that I don't like em Applejack. It's just that....well..... Sweetie Belle is not on the same intelligent level as me. I can hardly talk about anything intellectual with her. And Scootaloo....well.....despite her being as intelligent as me..... she ain't peaceful. She's just so brash and reckless and loud"
Apple bloom sighed, resting her head on the table on her head. "And it's not like I don't want em with the same school or class with me AJ. It's just.....here? How did they get in? Scootaloo can hardly even control her powers and Sweetie Belle ain't smart at all"
Applejack was in shock, but decided to show anger. "Don't ya say that bout yer friends Apple bloom. They love ya, ya goat! Better be glad that ya get to have her friends going to the same school as ya. Most kids don't get that lucky". Apple bloom looked down in absolute guilt.
Applejack sighed. " I'm sorry for yellin' at ya sugarcube, it's just that I couldn't stand ya talkin' bout her friends like that". Apple bloom raised her head up from the table, looking even more guilty.
"No, yer right. I shouldn't be talkin' bout my friends like that"
The train suddenly stopped as Applejack seen that their at their stop. Applejack and Apple bloom walked out of the train, and once they were out, the train went away. Applejack and Apple bloom continued forward until they saw a big school. The two were in awe, especially Apple bloom. The school looked so sci fi, so impressive, so complex. She couldn't believe that she was here. Apple bloom wanted to sink in every moment.
"Apple bloom!" Apple bloom turned around to see who called her, but she was pounced by a certain unicorn and a pegasus. They were hugging her on the ground and Applejack laughed.
"We missed you Apple bloom! Isn't it great that were going to be in the same school as us?" Sweetie Belle asked. Since Sweetie Belle was the one to talk first out of the two, Apple bloom snapped at her. Her eyes turned completely yellow, ready to attack, but Applejack grasped her wrist, causing Apple bloom to throw her onto the ground. Applejack was in complete shock that Apple bloom did that to her sister. Applebloom turned her attention back on Sweetie Belle while a rock was towering over her. Sweetie Belle was freaking out to use her powers, and Scootaloo couldn't even control her powers. She wanted to stop Apple bloom, but she was too scared, and when she does feel any type of emotion, she could hurt any one in her path. So she tried to contain her fear as best as she can.
Apple Bloom's rock was ready to crush Sweetie Belle until....
"Sweetie Belle!" A voice called out, causing Apple bloom to drop her rock.
Applejack raised an confused eyebrow, trying to raise back on her hooves. "Who's that?"
Sweetie Belle smiled, despite the fact that one of her best friends almost killed her. "My sister"
Before Applejack could ask her what she meant, she saw a white unicorn with blue eyes and purple hair galloping to where they were. "There you are Sweetie Belle! Don't run off like that again"
She then turned to Applejack. "I'm terribly sorry if my dear sister caused you any trouble darling"
Applejack laughed. "She wasn't trouble at all. It was my sister who was the trouble"
Rarity smiled. "Well she did run over here"
Applejack sighed playfully. "Alright ya win" The two mares laughed.
Rarity gave her a hoof. "I'm Rarity. Other than unicorn magic, I'm an element of wind and air"
Applejack smiled and shook Rarity's hoof. "Applejack. I'm a nature element"
"Pleasure to meet an nature element darling. Hope we can see each other again sometime. Come along Sweetie Belle" Rarity waved goodbye to them as the two unicorns walked forward.
Applejack smiled. "Well she seems alright" She then turned angrily at Apple bloom. "Now back to ya, Apple bloom" Suddenly, a cyan pegasus crashed into Applejack.
The pegasus raised up and helped Applejack up. "Sorry, sorry. I was just looking for my sister Scootaloo. Orange pegasus, purple hair?" Applejack pointed her hoof behind the cyan pegasus. She turned around and she saw Scootaloo.
"There you are Scoots! Don't run off like that!"
She then turned towards Applejack. "Thanks. I'm Rainbow Dash by the way"
"Applejack"
Rainbow flapped her wings as Scootaloo went on Rainbow's back. "Well, see ya around" Rainbow Dash flied towards the school faster than Apple bloom or Applejack has ever seen.
"That's the fastest pegasus I have ever seen"
"Yep"
"Now back to ya Apple bloom"
Princess Celestia's voice can be heard. "All students inside. I repeat, all students inside"
Applejack glared at Apple bloom. "We'll talk about this later"
Applejack angrily walked away as Apple bloom followed.
Author's Note
I should be working on my other story, "I'm Broken", but I power gotten this idea. Also, the Mane Six are in it because the school has different grades.

Chapter Two: A New Beginning Part Two
As Apple Bloom and Applejack walked in, they noticed how complex and amazing everything looked. Apple Bloom's mind was as sharp as ever, but she didn't even know how any of these things worked. Apple Bloom was aware of the world's advanced technology, but this was beyond her comprehension. Her orange eyes gazed in wonder, thinking about everything she could do with these machines, gadgets, and weapons. Her thoughts were interrupted when the door suddenly closed.
Everypony ceased their conversation, someponys walked a little away from the intrence, or some were snapped out of their thoughts. The room was suddenly dark, causing some mumbling from someponys and some yelps in fear from others. Apple Bloom simply rolled her eyes at how immature they were acting. Some of them were not even fillies. Apple Bloom is smarter than your average kid, but she still expected that full grown adults would act like full grown adults.
The immature mumblings suddenly stopped as beams of light entered the room. Everypony squinted their eyes ,using their hooves to block the light from their eyes. Once their vision had finally came back, they saw two powerful alicorns on a futuristic platform that stood a few feet from everypony else. Well, if those ponies weren't close to the platform to get a better look at them. Everypony were in awe of the two well known alicorns, most were in awe more by Celestia than Luna. What hurts even more is that Princess Luna is aware of this act of favoritism, but decided to force a smile anyways.
Princess Celestia cleared her throat. "Welcome everypony to S. I. T. G. We are happy to have everypony here, right Luna?"
"Yes. We are happy to have you earth ponies, unicorns, alicorns, and pegasi".
" Racist!" Some jerk pegasus yelled, taking the statement the wrong way.
Apple Bloom faced hoof herself silently. She knew what that jerk meant, and Apple Bloom thought an adult pegasus would know that thinking that way is absolutely stupid. Apple Bloom knew Luna was just welcoming all the types of ponies, but the jerk was either too stupid to notice or to much of a jerk to care.
Princess Luna lowered her head, gritting her teeth."You people are just not meant to be here".
"What do you mean by YOU people?" The same jerk pegasus asked sternly.
Apple Bloom faced hoofed again. She couldn't believe this guy. Apple Bloom knew that Luna meant jerkish people like him doesn't deserve to be in this school. She wasn't assaulting his kind, she was assaulting how much of a jerk he was.
Luna looked incredibly angry. Before she could do anything, Princess Celestia beated her to it. Princess Celestia cleared her throat firmly at the pegasus, which caused his anger to fade.
"S.....sorry....... Your Highness".
Apple Bloom didn't know if she should roll her eyes or face hoof, but she did groan in annoyance.
Princess Celestia faced the ponies. "As we were saying, we welcome every type of pony here at our school. Those who applied and had gotten accepted are who we believe are intelligent, talented , and gifted enough to be here".
Apple Bloom rolled her eyes. 'Saying ta name of ta school on the first day? That's clichéd of ya Celestia'. Apple Bloom thought.
Don't get the young red head wrong, she admires Celestia, but sometimes the things she says may lead her to boredom or annoyance. Apple Bloom does often agree with her, but sometimes she can't believe what Celestia does. However, she does appreciate being excepted into this school. This school.
As Celestia finished her greeting to the students, she asked if there were any questions. Oddly enough, nopony had any questions. Celestia smiled warmly as she used her horn to open the next door which lead to the hallway, which means their destiny awaits them. Everypony, trying to control their excitement, walked in calmly. As everypony were in the hallway, Celestia closed the door with her magic.
Luna turned to Celestia. "Sister, do you really think they can do this?"
Celestia didn't even hesitate. "Of course. I'm one thousand percent sure Luna. They can do this".
Applejack and Apple Bloom was walking side by side by each other, gazing in awe of everything surrounding them. Even the lockers look amazing. And in a regular school, lockers don't look amazing unless you decorate them or something. As Apple Bloom and Applejack stopped by a set of lockers, Applejack turned towards Apple Bloom, an angry expression on her face.
" Alright, I'm ganna look for ta directions to our classes. Stay here and don't do anything stupid. And after school, I'm still talkin' ta ya".
Apple Bloom smirked. "What? Ganna say something beyond my comprehension?" Apple Bloom joked as she started to laugh.
Applejack found herself giving in as she let out a laugh. The two ponies stopped as Applejack fixed up her hat. "I admit, ya made me laugh. But ya still ain't gettin' out of me talkin' to ya". Applejack walked away, leaving Apple Bloom in a bit of guilt, but also bitterness.
Apple Bloom rolled her eyes than snorted. So the red headed filly waited, thinking that she would be bored.
" I can't do this Twi ". Apple Bloom's ear twitched at the sudden new voice. She looked behind the set of lockers from where she heard the noise and saw a young purple alicorn with purple eyes, a purple striped mane, a tail to match, purple wings, and a star like cutie mark. Who she was talking to was kinda unknown. The person she was talking to had on a cloak, and the hood was over his head to cover his face and he was facing the mare so she couldn't see who it was. Whoever it was, however, stood on two legs which was weird cause ponies stand and walk on all fours. Like the mare in front of the mysterious figure. Apple Bloom has seen ponies stand on two legs before: Scootaloo when trying a stunt and Sweetie Belle when trying, and failing, to do the exact stunt as Scootaloo. This, however, was different. It seemed a bit off to her.
" Yes you can. You have to anyways. I can't teleport you back home. You've gotten accepted by Princess Celestia, and you can't miss that opportunity ".
" I didn't even apply".
"Exactly! That's how good you are!"
"Your raising my hopes up. It's getting old, Twilight".
'So the mare's name is Twilight? Urg...... Just from the name she sounds boring!' thought Apple Bloom as she faked a yawn and giggled quietly because of her own joke. The red head started to listen some more anyways.
" Besides, if you won't teleport me home, I'll do it myself ".
'So this mysterious person is a unicorn. But the standing on two legs thing is kinda confusing' thought Apple Bloom as she proceeded to listen some more.
" No Spike! You can't just keep being reclusive! Always staying in your room, never eating, never going out to do anything!"
Apple Bloom was in complete shock as her attitude changed slightly about the mare she called boring, and yet curious about the guy that she found out his name is Spike. Apple Bloom's ear twitched, waiting for more.
Twilight was now in tears. "You know it breaks my heart when I see you like this. Depressed, emotionless, dark, cold. It hurts me deeply seeing you hurt like this! I know your upset, I know what your going through is complex, but you can't keep shutting yourself from the outside world! I know it's hard for you to feel something and not cause harm all at once! Trust me , I get it!"
Apple Bloom's ears dropped in depression and sympathy. Whatever their going through must be heavy and tough. She leaned in closer, careful not to make a sound.
"I'm not staying here Twi. It's all wrong.... I'm not meant to be here".
Apple Bloom was shocked. The red headed filly was full of herself, knowing she belonged here, but this guy believes he doesn't?! Apple Bloom forced herself not to cry.
New fresh tears came down rolling from Twilight's face. " Stop looking down at yourself, Spike! You always do this! Have confidence in yourself! I know it's in you Spike! I know that spirit of yours for too long Spike! I know you have confidence! But YOU have to believe you have confidence! "
"I don't".
'That's depressing......'Apple Bloom thought sadly.
" Spike.....please don't be reclusive. Please try to enjoy your life. And don't do it for me, do it for yourself ".
" I HAVE NO LIFE TWILIGHT! I'M DEAD! CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?!"
Windows began breaking endlessly, shards falling onto the floor. Then suddenly, the glass went back onto the windows, fixing them to just like they were. How? No unicorns or alicorns magically picked up the shards, or others with powers to manipulate objects in different ways. And Twilight knew it didn't come from Spike. Then the students eyed Twilight and Spike before going back to their businesses.
Twilight looked back down at Spike with more tears in her eyes, making her vision a bit blurry, but she could still see. "Spike, please know that you are someone special. I know you Spike. This isn't you. I love you too much to let you say negative things about yourself, keeping yourself low, hiding from the outside world, wishing for death as quickly as possible. My heart and spirit breaks everyday when I see you go through this, when I see you do these things. I help as much as I can, but it's all I can do on my own. I always beat myself up on why I can't help you. I always think that I'm not trying hard enough, that my love for you isn't strong enough, that I'm a bad sister."
"Twi, your not a bad sister. Your a great sister. If anything, I'm a bad brother".
" Don't say that! Stop hurting yourself Spike! Please! This isn't healthy! What would you think will happen to me if you die?! Hu Spike?! You think I'll be glad that my best friend and brother had died?!"
Spike looks at his arms, some weird symbols on them before hiding them back in his cloak. Spike closes his eyes and sighed. "No."
"Then please Spike.....try enjoying your life, don't try to get it over with as soon as possible".
Spike sighed, a frown escaping his lips. " Okay. I'll try".
Twilight then held him in an embrace. Spike's eyes widened. After a few seconds of shock, he had finally hugged her back, not wanting to let her go. But, he had to eventually. As the two released each other, Twilight wiped her tears from her eyes.
"And Spike? Please promise me something".
" What is it?"
Twilight rubbed Spike's head, probably ruffling his hair from the inside of his hood. "Please try to make some friends".
Spike hesitated, but sighed and nodded.
Twilight smiled slightly as she hugged Spike one last time. " I love you."
"I love you too".
Twilight and Spike were released as she walked further away from where she was, and Spike was walking towards Apple Bloom's direction. Panicked, Apple Bloom created a rock wall and hid behind it. Spike, however, passed by it. As he was out of sight, Apple Bloom sighed in relief as she made her rock wall disappear.
Applejack then came back. " Good, ya stayed in ya spot. My room is left, room 789 and yours is on the right, room 210. Sorry I took so long. I found Rarity and asked for help and she knew what rooms to go to. That brain of hers. But then she was talking about dresses and other things I don't really care for, but I listened anyways. Like I said before, she's alright. Now, ready ta head ta ya class Apple Bloom? "
Apple Bloom was out of it. Applejack waved her hoof in front of Apple Bloom's face. "Apple Bloom?"
Apple Bloom then jumped onto Applejack, hugging her neck. "I love you Applejack!"
Applejack looked confused, but still smiled. "I love ya too Apple Bloom".

Chapter Three: Meeting New Friends Part One
Author's Note
This is the beginning story arc of Apple Bloom and Spike's friendship. Also, this story is now featured in the group spikebloom. Uh... I didn't know how to respond or react. At first, I usually reacted like Angel from "Angel Beats". Then it was slight confusion, then it was acceptance. Whoever did that, I wanna say thanks.
Chapter Three: Meeting New Friends Part One
Once Applejack walked with Apple Bloom to her class, Apple Bloom hugged Applejack again.
"Ah love ya Applejack."
Applejack smiled awkwardly. "Ah love ya too Apple Bloom." Once released, the blonde mare gave her sister a sideway glance. "But remember, after school, I'm still talking to ya. Don't think just because ya huggin' me means I ain't ganna adress on what ya did today."
Apple Bloom frowned slightly. "Okay."
Applejack ruffled her sister's red mane a bit. "See ya later then."
"Bye." Applejack smiled slightly then walked away. Apple Bloom sighed as she used her right hoof to open the door. The door made a slight creek as she walked in. The young filly saw the classroom was just as impressive as the other rooms here. Her eyes sparkled with amazement. The classroom was filled with filles all around. Some talking among ponies they knew, some were doing their own thing, some practicing their powers. All too suddenly though, she saw the cloaked figure, Spike, from earlier. He was in the dark corner with his head down and his arms folded. He still had the hood over his head just like before. His back was againsted the wall, one foot on the ground and one againsted the wall. Apple Bloom, despite the fact that she still couldn't see the mysterious person's face, just kept staring at him.
"HEY APPLE BLOOM!"
The young genius fell to the floor in panic and surprise which created a loud thud. Everypony stopped with they were doing to look at the filly. Apple Bloom laughed nervously, feeling a little embarrassed, yet angry towards the filly that called her. After a few moments, the filles went back to their businesses, which caused the filly's expression to change from embarrassed and flustered, to furious and dark.
Apple Bloom's brilliant orange eyes glowed as she turned furiously towards Sweetie Belle who was standing next to Scootaloo. The Earth pony's red hair was floating towards the sides of her neck, nearly floating in the air. The sound of her teeth clenching could be heard by the young unicorn and the rebellious pegasus.
"What?" She growled.
Sweetie Belle backed up a bit, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry Apple Bloom, I didn't mean to scare you."
Apple Bloom simply closed her eyes, trying to remain calm. Her teeth unclenched, her hair stopped floating, her anger decreased. As she reopened her eyes, she smiled a bit. "It's okay, just don't do it again. Now... what did you want?"
Scootaloo decided to speak for the young unicorn. With the roll of her eyes, she responded, "Oh nothing. How about the fact you were just staring at a mysterious pony who was in the corner."
Apple Bloom's face was fueled with anger. "I was not staring!"
Sweetie Belle get grinned. "Sure you weren't," she said playfully.
Apple Bloom sighed in annoyance before speaking again. "Okay I was, but so what? What does that prove Sweetie Belle?"
Scootaloo sighed heavily and faced hoof as Sweetie Belle grinned. "Oh no," Scootaloo said.
"Well that means you like him!"
Apple Bloom's eyes went to the size of daggers before they turned into crossbones. Sweetie Belle 's ears folded. "Guess not?"
Apple Bloom's eyes went back to normal. "Not. And for the record, I have never even met him, nor seen his face," Apple Bloom deadpanned.
Sweetie Belle hummed in disappointment before cracking a huge smile on her face. "Well here's your chance! He's not preoccupied, go meet him!"
Apple Bloom saw a lot of flaws in this plan. She just watched the conversation Spike had with Twilight and it seemed like a horrible idea to...
Sweetie Belle was seen walking towards Spike. Apple Bloom's mouth was opened to scream, but nothing came out. She ran after Sweetie Belle who used her magic to block the Earth pony. The red head had to admit. Even though Sweetie Belle isn't using her element, her powers were quite powerful. It didn't stop her from trying to escape, though. She tried using sharp rocks or her hind legs to break it, but to no success. Scootaloo tried burning it, but nothing.
Sweetie Belle hummed once she was by Spike. The filly smiled innocently and began to address him. "Um, excuse me?" Spike heard a female, squeaky yet, sweet voice. Spike turned around and saw a young unicorn filly. Sweetie Belle's smile shifted and twitched a little. She only saw his emerald eyes, due to the hood. They stared at her blankly, which did frighten her a bit. However, Sweetie Belle tried to complete her task, her smile shining across her face.
"Hi, I'm Sweetie Belle. My element is ice and snow. I love my friends and my sister and my mom and dad and romance and my life. I just love... life..." Sweetie Belle listed, very faced paced. Sweetie Belle gasped for breath before speaking again. "Sorry... got a little... off track with everything. So..." Sweetie says, getting in his face with a huge grin, causing him to flinch. "What's your name, what's your element, what are your interests, want to be friends?!" She asked, still very faced paced like before.
Spike hesitated, but than thought what Twilight told him. She told him to try and make friends. He did hesitate to say yes, but he did. Maybe it was better for Twilight so she wouldn't worry about him shutting out everypony or it was better for him. Either way, he had to try.
'Come on, you can do this. Make Twilight happy for once', he thought.
He inhaled slowly and gazed at the unicorn. "M... my name is Spike, darkness and light, if that even count as an element, I love my sister Twilight, and... sure," Spike listed without enthusiasm. Sweetie Belle noticed this, but she had mentally made a note that she will make him smile no matter what.
"Well your in luck! You just made a friend! Well... three," Sweetie Belle says.
Spike was confused. "What?"
Sweetie smiles and used her magic to raise the thing she had blocked the girls with. As the two were about to use their hinds legs together and Scoots's wings at the same time to break it, they noticed that they were free, causing them to fall onto the floor.
"These are my bestest friends in the world, Spike! Apple Bloom and Scootaloo!"
Scootaloo grunted. "Yo," she greeted, throwing her hoof into the air. Apple Bloom raised up and dusted herself off. Her orange eyes gazed into his emerald eyes. They seemed hazel almost.
"Hey," Apple Bloom greeted.
"Hi," Spike greeted.
Apple Bloom gave him a smile.
Scootaloo raised up as she flapped her tiny wings. "So, dude, what's your power?" Scootaloo asked. Apparently the thing that blocked the was sound proof.
Spike winced. "Light and d... darkness," Spike says, pulling himself deeper into his cloak. Apple Bloom instantly froze while Scootaloo smirked.
The young pegasus flapped her wings. "Dude, that's really awesome! Seriously! Like, I can't comprehend how awesome that is! Mind blown!" Scootaloo yells in excitement, floating a bit.
Spike didn't know how to react. Everypony who has seen his powers or experienced them when he unleashes them, they say the opposite thing. Sure there's Twilight, but that's one out of... a million. Now, that makes two. Four if Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle feel the same about them.
Usually how this goes, it would basically seem harmless and not such a big deal, but once unleashed at the WORST possible time, the light would be forgotten as darkness controls him. Everypony gave him names that was no where near good. They shout at Spike for being dangerous and at Twilight for not helping him control them. Of course, Twilight helps Spike the best way she could. She tried harder and harder everyday, but Spike couldn't control it no matter how hard he tried.
'Twilight, I can't do it. I... I can't do it Twi. I can't control it,' he cried.
Twilight frowned. 'Yes you can,' she said.
Spike shook his head. 'No I can't,' he cried a little louder.
Twilight narrowed her eyes in determination. 'Yes you can,'Twilight says louder.
Spike backed away. 'No I can't!' he yelled through sobs.
Twilight took a step forward. 'Yes you can!' she yelled, tears behind her eyes. 'I know you Spike! I know you can do this!' she exclaims.
Spike felt the anger and sadness in his heart. He tried to make her understand. 'I... CAN'T!' he yells in anger and frustration. Shadows of the unknown darkness strikes Twilight hard in the chest. She yelled out a scream of agony as she fell backwards, crashing againsted the wall.
Spike eyes were red as tears were behind his eyes. 'TWILIGHT!'
Spike's eyes slightly widened at that flashback.
"Dude, you okay? You blacked out there," Scootaloo says.
Spike had hidden his face some more, only one eye showing, shining brightly, and the other covered by the hood on his head, only seeing darkness on that part of his face.
"It's nothing," Spike mumbled. Apple Bloom cringed. On his behalf.
Apple Bloom, trying to change the subject, tried thinking about the class they were in. What were they doing in here? What's the purpose? Where the heck was the teacher?!
The door was then burst open, causing everypony to stop what they were doing and sit in random seats.
Soon, a female Earth pony walked in the classroom, closing the door behind her. Her eyes shined brightly at her students. She continued to walk as she stood in front of the class.
"Hello students, my name is Ms. Cheerlie. I can tell you that it's going to be a great year. In this class, you will be trained to master your power. You will be taught martial arts, karate, kung fu, etc. With that being said, we will need a proper setting to our goal then, hu?" she smiles, flipping a switch from the back wall, revealing a white button. She presses the button as the room began to change. The students, especially Apple Bloom, stared in awe.
The room was way cooler than Apple Bloom had expected. "Look at everything. Look at the gagets, look at the weapons, look at the technology! I must touch the all," Apple Bloom says, very faced paced.
The teacher smiles. "All of that will be happen later. Now before we begin for today, I want you to talk among each other. Introduce yourselves. Be comfortable with who you are," she says.
'I love you Spike. And remember, always be confident with who you are," the sweet voice of Twilight said.
Spike frowned as he felt his fingers twitch, causing him to use his other claw to force himself to stop.
"You have about a few minutes," she says.
So, everypony began to socialize.
Spike, however, didn't feel like talking.
Sweetie Belle wasn't ganna take that. She made a mental vow. Scootaloo wasn't ganna take that either. He was way to cool to be silent.
"Let's keep the ball game rolling," Scoots says, waving around her hoof when she said "rolling."
"Yeah," Sweetie agreed. "Like, what's your favorite food?"
Spike cringed at the word, "food." Apple Bloom sees this and knows why. She really felt bad for him. And yet, she was the filly who one time in the past told AJ that, "filles don't have symphony."
"Guys, we should REALLY change the subject," Apple Bloom warns.
Sweetie Belle gave her an confused expression. "Why?"
"I can't say, but-"
The filly was cut off by the orange pegasus. "Come on! With a cool dude like him, his favorite food has to be spicy vegetarian burritos," she said. "The best food in the world!" She exclaims with her fist in the air.
Spike winced and Apple Bloom noticed. "Um... guys I -"
Sweetie shook her head. "No no. It has to be a delegate meal. More like a salad with steamed vegetables or some fruit or..."
"Blah blah blah," the rebellious pegasus says. "Seriously, who introduced you to those foods anyway? They are BORING!"
"Well, let's ask him then!"
Scootaloo scoffed. "I bet he picks the burritos," she says without a doubt. The two filles turned towards him.
"So dude, what's ya favorite? It could be spicy vegetarian burritos or vegetarian pizza, heck, even cake. Anything but those BORING foods Sweetie Belle mentioned," she says with a smirk and curious eyes. Sweetie and Scoots waited for an answer, but none came. The silence became confusing to the unicorn and pegasus, akaward to the Earth pony, and painful to Spike.
His right fist clenched beside him. "I don't eat," he said in pain.
Scootaloo frowns. "Why? Is something wrong?"
Spike clenches his fist tighter. "I'm fine," he grunted.
"You don't sound fine," Sweetie says in a matter of fact tone.
"Look, not eating sounds cool, but it's not healthy," Scoots says.
"What do you know?" Spike snapped.
"Ouch dude. I think this, "non eating thing" is making you paranoid," the rebellious filly says, flapping her wings.
"Just... forget about it. I'll be fine," he says.
Apple Bloom decided to finally speak. "Are ya sure? It will do ya some good."
Spike felt his clenched fist shaking in anger, but he tried to calm down. He wasn't angry at them directly, he was angry at the words that were said. It brings back painful memories.
"It's only an illusion. Food, health, life. All of it. It's nothing but pain. Pain and darkness that will consume the soul. Said soul will be black, cold, and ash. That's what it will immediately turn into once the soul breaks. Ash. It will happen to everypony someday, so might as well say souls are illusions. Might as well say that health is an illusion. Therefore, life is an illusion," he mumbled.
The three filles stared at him in absolute fear. Spike pulled his hood deeper over his head. Luckily, the teacher decided to speak up.
"Alright, it's time for the socializing to come to a close," she said. She pointed her hoof to the wall with screens on them. "These screens show your training partners. Were not ganna do this everyday, though. Once you get the hang of your training, you will be able to fight each other. Today, I wanna see what ya got. Now come up here and find your partners," she says.
Everypony ran towards the walls, looking for their names.
Sweetie squinted her and saw her name was by Scootaloo. "Alright! Me and Scootaloo got each other!" she exclaims, punching her fist in the air.
"Just no romance crap during our training," Scoots says.
Sweetie Belle gave her a salute. "Right Scootaloo," she says, trying to sound like the ponies from the military.
Apple Bloom was kinda glad she didn't get either of them. They were annoying. Apple Bloom squinted her eyes, looking for her name. 'Apple Bloom, Apple Bloom, Apple Bloom... Ha! There it is! My partner is..."
Apple Bloom- Spike.
"Spike?"
"It's fate," Sweetie says teasingly.
Apple Bloom grunted in annoyance. "It ain't fate."
Sweetie smiles. "Right..."
Scootaloo flapped her wings once more. "Well, I'm ganna find a training spot for us. See you there," she says, walking away.
"It's fate," Sweetie says.
Apple Bloom grunted in annoyance once more. "Like you getting hit by my rocks is fate," Apple Bloom threatened.
"Nope," she squeaked, teleporting away from her.
Apple Bloom sighed in relief. "So, wanna train there?" She asked, pointing at the area filled with screens on the walls, weapons for battle, etc.
Spike walked away saying, "Forget what I said."

Chapter Four: Meeting New Friends Part Two
Apple Bloom stared at Spike who kept a straight face. Training with him was the hard part. Now, he was a great fighter and all, but he worried her. She wanted to go easy on him, but apparently he didn't want her to do so. As she started to fight hard like he wanted, she would see something in his eyes. AB would actually feel bad for hurting him, but her partner gave her a blank expression. She didn't understand. However, it was finally over as she was seen walking with her partner who seemed to be thinking about something.
AB stopped in front of the lockers and turned towards him. "You sure you okay?"
Spike ignored her and walked in the boy's restroom and slammed the door. Apple Bloom sighed. She didn't know what she was doing wrong. Dodging everypony else, she was finally in the girl's restroom, behind the door, panting. Her orange eyes saw Scootaloo washing her hooves, purple eyes looking in the mirror. Sweetie Belle was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she could talk to her about it. She was much more rational than her unicorn friend, and she would not rat a friend out no matter what.
"Hey Scoots," she greeted from behind.
"Hey AB," she greeted back, not taking her eyes from the mirror.
"Where's Sweetie Belle?"
"Getting ready for lunch," she answered as she moved her hooves from the sink, causing it to turn off on its own.
"Is anypony else in here?"
Scootaloo dried her hooves with an automatic dryer. "No. Why?"
The yellow filly sighed in relief. "I have to talk to you in private," she admitted, locking the door.
The orange pegasus levitated and placed her elbow on the sink. "What's up?"
She hesitated. "Well, it's about Spike."
"What about him?"
"It's... Well... He's a little weird."
"How?"
"Other than the fact that he doesn't eat, I tried training with him, and he didn't even make an expression. However, it may be some home problems he's dealing with."
Scootaloo raised her eyebrow in confusion. "What makes you say that?"
Apple Bloom lowered her head in shame and guilt. "I may have spied on his conversation with his older sister when Applejack left to find our classes," she admitted.
This caused her pegasus friend's eyebrows to raise up in shock. "You... What?"
"Look, ta more was said, ta more Ah listened alright? And it was quite sad..."
" You felt sympathy for somepony? Even after you told AJ that "filles don't have sympathy"?" She asked in AB's second voice, which is rough, a bit deep, comprehensible, British, yet clear and a bit southern. Sometimes her southern accent can block out her voice, but only for specific reasons. Scootaloo did a great impression, though.
She closed her eyes tightly. "Yes, even then."
"Well, what did you find?"
"Apparently he shuts everypony out cause of some complex situation only him and sister know. He doesn't go out, he seems to be ignoring everypony he knows, and his sister Twilight seems to do everything to help him anyway she can. I also sense that they don't have a father or a mother, or siblings."
Scoots eyebrows went down in sadness, biting her lip. Her wings surrounded in flames.
Bloom's eyes were filled with sadness as well. "What's wrong Scoots?"
She shook her head. "Nothing. Just... Nothing. You... You said he shuts everypony out?" Scoots asked, changing the subject.
Apple Bloom, not wanting to push it further, nodded. "Yeah. I don't know how, but..." She stopped when they heard a firm knock on the door. AB opened it and saw a filly with a pink cloak on. The hood was down, so her features was seen. She had light blue eyes, purple and white hair, pink skin, and her expression was a bit annoyed.
"Oh. Sorry we locked the door."
The filly smirked. "It's alright," she said, walking to the stalls and closing the door.
AB and Scoots walked out and closed the door.
They were seen by the lockers, apparently waiting for Sweetie Belle to hurry. It shouldn't take her this long to get her lunch. Then again, as rich as her family is, it may take a long time to get to the "fancy place" and back. Not like hours long, but long. Spike came from the boy's restroom the same time the young filly came from the girl's restroom. She saw them and walked towards them.
"My name is Diomand Tiara by the way," she says.
"I'm ganna call you DT for short. My name is Scootaloo."
"Apple Bloom."
A locker cracked, causing the three filles to turn around. Spike walked swiftly on the ground, not paying attention to them. Once he was out of sight, the locker was fixed once again. 'Like the window,' AB thought. Diomand Tiara turned towards them.
"Do you know him? Is he okay?"
"We know him. His name is Spike, and I don't think so DT. I don't really know what's going through his mind right now, but he's depressed alright."
AB remained silent.
"Should we confront him?"
AB shook her head.
"Should I confront him?"
"You don't even know him," Apple Bloom said.
"I could get him to open up, though."
Scoots smirked playfully. "Alright, but don't end up like Sweetie Belle, alright?"
"Who?"
"Our other friend. You'll see her when she comes back for lunch."
DT nodded. AB sighed. "Fine. Do it."
She smiled, walking in the same direction Spike. The filly was about to address him until he stopped in, causing her to do the same.
"Who are you and what do you want?"
"Diomand Tiara. Are you okay?"
"Why do you want to know?" he snapped.
DT flinched. "I... I just want to make you feel better..."
"You don't even know me."
"Well, your friends are..."
"Friends? What friends? Those three filles? I already know their deal. They'll care for me, have concern for me. But once they figure out what's wrong with me, they'll turn their backs on me. Just like everypony else. It's just life."
Diomand gasped. "I know I just met them, but I know they'll never do that!" She didn't mean to yell at him. She just couldn't picture anypony doing something like that.
"Well, your wrong. Just accept it. That's what I have to do," he said, walking away from her, causing DT to narrow her eyes.
"Oh no, your not leaving me with that!" she exclaims as she starts to gallop after him.
Spike stopped and looked over his shoulder, causing her to stoop at her tracks. "Stop following me you freak!"
DT bit her lip, eyes glowing green. A laser was sent his way, causing him to levitate. The laser had went onto the floor, which didn't get destroyed, which was confusing. "Sorry, sorry. Th... That was an accident. Just... gotten triggered there," she laughed.
"Whatever," he spat, walking away. Although she was hurt being called a freak because of... past experiences... she still wanted to cheer him up. "Hey wait!" she yelled, catching up with him.
"Please, I just want to talk to you!"
Spike levitated once more, this time higher. He flied faster than Diomand Tiara has ever seen. However, that wasn't going to stop her. She flied up in the air as she started to follow him. Through flight.
"Leave me alone!"
"Not until you cheer up!"
Spike growled at her, magically throwing objects at her, who destroyed them with her lasers.
"No!!!! Don't destroy the objects in the school!!!!!" AB yelled as she and Scoots were running, trying to catch up with them. Scoots would fly, buy unlike Spike and Diomand Tiara, she could only levitate. Of course, the objects that were destroyed were rebuilt. Like the windows and the locker. Strange.
DT flied faster towards him. "Please, just let me help you!" Spike, looking over his shoulder and saw this, causing his eyes to glow. "LEAVE. ME. ALONE!"
A shield was thrown into DT's direction. She was going to use her lasers to destroy it, but she was to late. The shield collapsed on her, causing her to let out a glass breaking scream.
"DIOMAND TIARA!"
"DT!"
They both galloped towards her, making sure she was okay.
Spike floated there in guilt in realization. He... He didn't mean to harm her... did he? No! No of course not! But he did. He lowered his head."I'm... I'm sorry," he said in a whisper, floating away.
"Wait!" Diomand yelled, trying to raise to her hooves.
"What are you doing!?"
Her hoof was consumed in green energy. "Talking to Spike!" And just like that, she was gone.
Diomand Tiara was outside with a lighting flash. Nopony was seen out here. "Spike?"
She then teleported with her lighting powers. She was soon in an empty classroom. "Spike!?" Her "senses" tell her that he wasn't here. She was then seen in the closet. "SPIKE!!!!!?"
She sighed and slumped her back on the wall, her mind in thought.
"Go... away..."
"Spike..."
"Get away from me..."
"Spike just let me..." She paused at the sound crying.
"Are you... crying?"
No response. Only crying.
"Spike please, just let me talk to you."
"What good would that do hu? Nothing."
DT sighed. "It's better than running from your problems."
Spike was shocked at her words, but try to not come off as shocked as he truly was."I don't run away from my problems. "
"Yes you do. You just flied at a maximum speed... just to avoid me."
Spike's eyes sparkled in amazement and sadness. "How do you do it?" he asked quietly, knowing she would still hear him.
"Do what?"
"Despite my rage, I called you a freak which you said triggered you, but you laughed it off and was still determined into talking to me." He finally looked up to her. "How do you do if Diomand Tiara? How do you enjoy life?"
"Spike... I know you didn't mean what you said..."
"But I still said it..."
She sighed. "Look, what you may be going through is tough, but know that everything in this world happens for a reason. And forgetting the pain of somepony betraying you is hard. But you can't let things ruine your ways of living. I may not get through to you today, but when i do, this conversation will be brought back. I know it."
Spike stood in awe. "Th... Thanks..."
"And another thing. Don't be ashamed of who you are."
Spike's eyes widened. "I'm... I'm not..."
" Your hood, Spike."
"What... What are you talking about....?"
"With that hood on your head, your hiding from the outside world."
"But... When you see me..."
DT had her pink hooves on his hood, causing him to cry even more. "Please... don't..."
Diomand pulled the hood off, revealing a purple dragon with green spikes, emerald, hazel like eyes, and a red scar across his right eye.
"Your... your a..."
"What? Ganna make fun of me? Reject me? Blast me? Kill me?! Do it! I don't deserve this life! I never did!"
She stood in shook. She didn't know what to say. "I..."
"Do it! Don't even hesitate to do it Diomand Tiara! I know you want to!"
"I... I don't want to..."
"Your... your lying..."
"I'm not."
Spike grabbed tightly on Diomand's arm. "YOUR LYING!"
She tried getting out of his hold, but his grip was too tight. "Spike... I'm not lying to you... I won't hurt you..."
"LIAR!"
"But... I swear to you... I won't..."
"Do you think you were the first person to tell me that? The first person to tell me that was close to me. He was family. But he betrayed me... even after he promised that he wouldn't no matter what. The only person I trust is my sister Twilight! She was the only person in this world that loved, cared, and stayed by me this whole time I was alive! At birth, when she noticed my dangerous powers, when we had to leave Canterlot because of it! She still treated me like I was a regular person! She still tried her best, she still cared for me, she still protected me when nopony else did! NOPONY!"
DT saw the rage in her eyes. She didn't know how to calm Spike down without hurting him. She could only ask him. "Spike, can you please calm down...?"
Spike turned towards her angrily. "DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!"
She felt tears burning her eyes. "YOU NEED TO!"
"CAN YOU JUST SHUT UP!?!?!"
She stood there hurt, causing Spike to soften his look. "I... I didn't mean... I just..."
"Spike, please stop."
"Alone," he said out of nowhere.
"What?"
"Are you alone?"
"Yes."
"Sorry."
"It's fine."
"Do you still like me?"
"Yes."
"Have you ever had a friend before?"
"Are you my friend?"
"...Yes..."
"Yes."
He sat on the ground. "Does things ever get easier for you?"
She sat on her hunches. "No."
"No."
"Do you like the sound of silence?"
"Best sound I could ever hear."
"Sometimes it frightens me."
"How?"
"Knowing that nopony is ever there."
Silence.
"Favorite type of music?"
"Rock."
"Mines too. Favorite animal?"
"I like bears."
"I'm more into cats."
AB, Sweetie, and Scoots was seen by the table. Sweetie Belle had finally came to lunch and just in time too. AB was going to look for the two, but the teacher said go to the cafeteria. She was going to disobey, but her voice was so confusingly strict. And not the, " mother angry at her filly because he accidentally broke something," it was more of a "demon not destroying the right universe and scolding his minions for it" strict. She tried taking her mind off of it though.
Sweetie Belle did get a fancy lunch though.
Diomand was then teleported by them. "Nice to meet you!" squeaked SB. "I have to tell you guys something in private..."
"But we can't leave the cafeteria."
Diomand gave her a mischievous, yet playful smirk. "Who said anything about leaving?"
They were then behind a corner filled with loads of space and nopony was near them.
Scoots smirked. "DT, I like you even more."
She laughed. "Thanks. Now, this is about Spike."
Bloom sprinted up. "What about him?"
"He's no pony. He's a... dragon..."
The CMC were silent.
"What?" squeaked Sweetie Belle after silence.
