Skyrim: The Equestrian Age: Prologue: World Building
[________________]
‘The Elder Scrolls.
These mystical scrolls are ancient artifacts of power that are shrouded in mystery. It would take a month just to explain how they can even have a comprehension. So most of the time people have to give very vague and cryptic sentences so they can even get close to understanding what they are talking about. But that's not why you're here reading this are you? You want to know how a bunch of anthropomorphic unicorns, pegasus, and earth ponies ended up in skyrim.
Well I'll tell you. Exactly twenty four hours after the first famous mortal shout that defeated alduin the first time a whole new country fell from the sky… literally.
When the country landed just north of skyrim it let a shockwave so loud that everyone in tamriel heard it. The new country amazingly was still in one piece when it landed and everyone was surprised to find three whole new races.
First there were the were the Unicorns, yes everyone laughed at that when people first heard about it. That joke has still gotten funny even to today, but nowadays people do it in good fun, but if it's actually used racially… well, it's their funeral. Unicorns are a power race that have a real natural talent for magic and are known as one of the best races to be mages. While the three equestrian races as a whole do all have a knack for some magic it's unicorns who are the fastest learners and can cast the most powerful spells. However, what really makes unicorn unique above the rest is their horns. It works like a third arm, only difference is that it can only use magic, specifically any magic that can be cast from the hands it can be cast from their horn. Most unicorns do become mages, but there is a small percentage that still become thieves and warriors. Finding a unicorn thief is rare, although not too uncommon, but finding a unicorn warrior is like trying to find needle in haystack. Overall, while Unicorns may seem physically weaker than the other two equestrians, it's never a good idea to just randomly face one without some protection.
The second race are the Pegasi. Now pegasi are one of the more unique races since they have an advantage that no other Sentient humanoid race has… flight. Yes, flight. The pegasus race can actually fly. It is unclear how far or how high they can fly, but it's never a good idea to face off against a enemy with a advantage like that. Pegasi are also built reasonably tough and very agile so as to keep up their biggest advantage and often like to show it off when they can. Because of this, most of the time pegasi will either be a thief or a warrior although it is possible to encounter a pegasus mage. The flight can really be useful for a fast escape for thief and their flight can seriously help in combat. Overall pegasus are the only currently living sentient race that can fly and that is not something to be underestimated.
The last, but certainly not the least are the Earthers. This is however, not their original name, it was lost long ago to unknown reasons. Regardless, if there's one thing what the Earthers are known for it's their strength and stamina. While every race can be as strong as they train themselves to be, but somehow, almost all earthers are naturally born strong and are gifted with large amounts of stamina. They can carry more than any of the other races and can keep fighting much longer in physical combat. Because of this they are a mostly warrior race with a small percentage mages and thieves. Mage and Thief Earthers are not too uncommon, but it can seem as odd to say the least. Overall the Earthers are a very strong race that should not be underestimated in terms of brawn.
All three of these groups as a whole are called equestrians and it's what most of the other races call them. While all together these are some powerful races, they do have their flaws. The Unicorns may have a horn for magic, but using both hands and the horn consumes as much magicka as you would think. For the Pegasi while flying is a great advantage, their wings can’t be armoured and are vulnerable to attack. As for Earthers while they have no obvious weakness, the race is not exactly known for its intelligence. That's not say there aren't some that are smart, but you shouldn't count on it in a fight.
However all these weaknesses aside, if all three of these races work at once they can be a very powerful force and all are unique in their own way. Despite their obvious looks they are all have a unique thing about each one that is well respected in their customs. They do this with what they call talent marks. They are little tattoos that are placed on the back of their hands to signify what they are best at. This play a very important role in their passion for harmony.
For harmony is central to the myths and legends of the Equestrians, for they believe that harmony can lead to unlocking the ability to become an Alicorn. Alicorns are said to be Equestrians with the wings of a pegasus, the horn of a unicorn, and the strength of an Earther, and are rumoured to possess untold magical capability. So far in their tales only three alicorns have existed. Lauren Faust, the goddess of creation, and her two daughters, Luna, the goddess of the moon, and Celestia, the goddess of the sun. They believe that these three are responsible for Equestria ending up in Skyrim. There has been a debate for centuries whether or not that was good thing or a bad thing. At this point most people that aren't Equestrian just say it's nonsense and myth, but if you say that to an Equestrian, you're just asking for a ass kicking.
The equestrians has been a valuable ally to skyrim since they first appeared and their numbers grow every day. While most of people have well accepted them into the world, there will always a new people that don’t like the idea, but that won't stop the equestrians from being citizens of Tamriel.’

“Hey would you stop reading that?”
Two Imperial guards were in the barracks at Helgen having a conversation.
“Oh will you relax I'm just checking out the latest news going around skyrim,” Said a Earther, his brown coat shining slightly in the torchlight, the inconstant firelight flickering across the papers he held in his hand
“It's just some random Equestrian talking about rumors. Why should you believe anything this guy writes?” asked the first guard, a Nord, his armour clinking as he drained his tankard
“It's more credible than just hearing the local guards talk about things.”
The nord rolled his eyes. “Can you at least pass me those papers on the execution tomorrow.”
“Sure”
The Earther passed the papers to the nord. “Ok let's see, a thief by the name of Lokir. A stormcloak soldier by the name of Rolaf, and… Ulfric Stormcloak? The leader of the rebellion?”
“That's the one.”
“About time they caught that bastard. Oh and someone who tried to cross the border. Hey why isn't there anything on this one?”
“I don't think they had time to question her what with capturing the leader of the rebellion and all. I don't think they’re going to take chances. They’ll probably just kill everyone that was there.”
“Poor girl.”
“Yea, well I'm going to head out. I'm needed back home in whiterun.”
“You sue you don't want to stay for Ulfric's execution?”
The Earther was getting his things together and putting the papers in his bag.
“No thanks. Just knowing that nord is going to get what's coming to him is good enough for me. Plus I don't want to see a innocent woman get her head cut off.”
“Alright, I'm just saying that you will be missing out. One hour from now will be a day that will be long remembered in skyrim.”
“I don't doubt you there.”
Author's Note
Welcome to Skyrim: Equestrian Age. I have been playing a ton of skyrim lately and I wanted to make story of my based on it. Now the reason for it being anthro is so it can better fit in the world of skyrim and so the gameplay from skyrim can make more sense. Also anther reason for that and why cutie marks are now called talent marks and placed on the back of the hand, and why earth ponies are now called Earthers is to make equestrians to be taken more seriously. Let's face it, no one is skyrim was be able to keep a straight face if they saw a talking cute pony holding a weapon in their teeth. Also skyrim isn't Earth, It's another planet entirely. Regardless of the changes I hope you all enjoy this project of mine. Have a Trollestia

“Hey you.”
I turn my attention to the blond Nord and glared at him.
“What.”
“You're the one that was trying to cross the border weren't you?”
“Thanks for the statement Captain Obvious.”
“Is now the time for sarcasm?”
“Well we're all about to be killed so I think I earned the right to do so.”
I turn my attention away from the blond nord as he continued to talk.
“Look, for whatever it's worth I want to apologize for you getting caught up in that ambush for us. Even to that thief over there.”
The ‘thief’ then joined in on our conversation. “Damn you stormcloaks. Skyrim was just fine before you showed up. The empire was nice and lazy. Hey you, You and me, we don’t belong here. Its these damn stormcloaks the imperials want.”
“Were all brothers and sisters in binds now thief.”
I join in. “I am not one of your sisters.”
That was when the imperial soldier driving the cart spoke. “Shut up back there.”
We stopped talking for a few seconds before the thief spoke again as he looked at a Nord with some cloth wrapped around his mouth. “What’s wrong with him?”
The first nord then spoke in anger. “Watch your tongue! You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, The true high king.”
The thief was taken aback by this revelation. “Ulfric Stormcloak? The Jarl of Windhelm? You're the leader of the rebellion. So wait if they have you... Oh gods where are they taking us?”
I did have a little hope that I could have some chance of being let go because of this misunderstanding, but if Empire has their current biggest enemy in their clutches, I am pretty sure they aren't going to cut corners on who they are going to kill for something like this. So that means only one thing for me. The chopping block. ‘Well, if I am going to die I might as well do it with dignity.’
The blond nord then spoke. “Looks like sovngarde awaits.”
‘And I await to see the Faust, Luna, and Celestia.’ I’m not picky on who I have faith in.
The thief starts panicking a bit. “No, this isn’t happening, this cannot be happening.”
The blond nord replied. “So where are your two from?”
I turned back to the nord. “Why should I tell you that?”
The thief spoke just after me. “And why should you care?”
“A nord’s last thoughts should be home.”
“I’m not a nord. In case you couldn’t tell I’m a equestrian.”
“My apologies, I am aware, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at least have a good thought before we all go to whatever afterlife we believe in.”
“Fair point. Well if you must know I am from Canterlot.”
The thief spoke. “I am from Rorikstead.”
I closed my eyes and I Imagined my home. Canterlot. It may appear to be a city of nobility, but I did what I could in the less known parts of canterlot. Mainly the poorer, slightly more dangerous part of the town. It may not have been the most appealing part of the city, but it was still home, and I did miss it right then. I remembered my mom and dad. One of the oddest pairing you will ever see. Diamond Crack as my mom and Clever Sword as my dad. My mom was a crazy unicorn with red fur and had a grey mane. My dad was a calm Earther with a navy blue fur and a black mane. Opposites attract as you can probably guess. ‘I remember my friends back home use to call my morally gray.’
I chuckled a bit, luckily it wasn’t quite loud enough to be heard by anyone else. I look to my right and see the town. ‘Well, I guess this is it.’
I then heard a guard speak to a imperial on a horse at the very front of this little escort. “General Tullius, sir! The headsman is waiting.”
The imperial on the horse known as ‘General Tullius’ replied. “Good! Let's get this over with.”
I couldn’t help, but glare at him. ‘What is he in rush for? We’re about to be executed.’
The thief then started speaking, mostly to himself. “Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh! Divines, Please help me,” he begged.
The blond Nord then looked to his right and looked at General Tullius. “Look at him, General Tullius, The Military Governor.” ‘I don’t why, but that doesn’t sound right.’ I turn to General Tullius who passed by some elves. The blond nord then spoke with disgust in his voice. “Looks like the Thalmor are with them. Damn elves. I bet those elves had something to do with this.” I glare at the blond nord silently. ‘I know you Nords don't exactly have the best history with elves, but come on, let's leave racism out of this.’
We continue to move through the town as the blond nord looks around. “This is Helgen. I use to be sweet on a girl here. I wonder if Vilod is still making mead with juniper berries mixed in.” I sit there wondering myself if these guys will have enough respect to give some of us a last drink. ‘Probably not.’ The blond nord then spoke again when he looked at the walls of the town. “Funny, when I was a boy, Imperial walls use to make me feel so safe.”
I responded this time.
“Irony can be very cruel.”
The blond nord turned to me. “I was wondering if you were going to stay silent this entire time.”
“Not exactly much to talk about.”
“Care to share any last thoughts.”
“Not really.”
“Were you sweet on anyone?”
“...is now really the time to ask that?”
“It's good to see the light in any situation.”
“If you say so.”
I turn to house we pass by as a child that was on the front porch. “Who are they daddy? What's going on?”
The father responded. “You need to get inside little cub.”
“Why papa? I want to watch the soldiers.”
“Inside the house. Now.”
“Yes, papa.” The child said with disappointment as he was brought into the house to not watch the execution. ‘Trust me kid, you don't want to see this.’ We are all then brought to the middle of the town where the executioner was. A female imperial captain yelled. “Get those prisoners out of the carts. Let's move it!” The cart was then slowly brought to a stop and the thief looks like he was about to panic as he spoke.
“Why are we stopping?”
The blond nord replied. “Why do you think? End of the line.”
The cart came a complete stop and the blond nord looked to me. “Let's go. Shouldn’t keep the gods waiting for us.”
I replied. “Might as well get it over with.”
All of us in the cart were getting up to get out of the cart while the thief was a bit of a panic attack. “No Please! We're not rebels!”
He turns to Ulfric practically begging. “You've got to tell them! We weren't with you! This is a mistake!” I couldn't help, but roll my eyes. ‘Yeah, that will convince them. Ask the biggest criminal in empire to vouch for you. I understand you're scared, but come on, don't be stupid.’
The blond nord replied. “Face your death with some courage thief.”
I replied. “Cut him a break, this isn't exactly something most aren't scared of.”
“He needs to grow a backbone.”
“Maybe, but still, who wouldn't be at least a little scared in this situation.”
“No nord should.”
“Well not everyone can be fearless.”
The imperial captain shout at us. “Shut up and get moving!”
Both me and the blond nord stopped talking as we all got off the cart. The imperial captain then spoke again. “Walk over to the block when we call your name. One at a time.”
The blond nord then spoke quite enough so only I could here. “Empire loves their damn lists.”
“What? It's just organization.”
“Of our deaths” he said with some hatred.
“True, but still I don't see the point in getting mad at a list.”
Before the blond nord could respond a brown haired Nord soldier walked up with the list. “Ulfric Stormcloak. Jarl of windhelm.”
The blond nord the said some final words to Ulfric. “It has been a honor, Jarl Ulfric.”
Ulfric walked over to the group of prisoners near the chopping block. I felt indifferent about him. On one hand he's about to be executed and he clearly has a lot of respect from his soldiers, so he must of done something impressive to get that. On the other, he must have done pretty damn bad to be the empire’s most wanted. So I'm feeling neutral about him.
The Nord soldier then spoke. “Ralof of Riverwood.”
‘Ralof. Well, See you in after life I suppose.’ He walked over to the group of rebels. I actually kinda liked him, he may be rebel, but he's still a person, and he did actually try to get to know me. He did his best to make light of this situation, so I guess I'll miss Rolaf. I just hope that elf comment wasn't meant in racism. If it was then he already lost all my respect.
The imperial nord spoke again. “Lokir of Rorikstead.”
‘Oh, his name is Lokir, well at least he will-’ I never got to finish that thought since Lokir finally snapped. “No! I'm not a rebel! You can't do this!” Lokir then ran for his life. The Imperial captain then shouted. “Halt!”
‘What in Tartarus does he think he's doing?!’ The thief continued to run and thought it would be good idea to mock them. “Your not gonna kill me!” The captain shouted “Archers!” I closed my eyes as I then heard a arrow was fire and Lokir’s scream.
I opened my eyes again, and saw Lokir’s dead body a few yards away. I may not have liked the guy, but he didn’t deserve to die that. I turn back to the imperial captain who then shouts. “Anyone else feel like running?”
I quickly shook my head. I would never admit it outloud, but I was actually pretty scared right now. The brown nord then looked to me. “Wait, you, step forward.” I slowly come forward try my very best not to show fear, but I think the Imperial captain could see it in my eyes.
“Who are you?”
“Crystal Fate.”
I am a female earther, my mane is navy blue and my fur coat is light grey. My mane is styled like a ponytail. My talent mark is a silver dragon with a strange symbol right next to it. The symbol was basically black ‘O’ with two lowercase ‘I’s placed on lower right corner of the ‘O’ with the left ‘I’ being slightly bigger than the one on the right. What’s even more unusual about this is while I don’t like to talk about it, I was actually born with my talent mark. Nobody could figure it why or how it happened. While I don’t mind it, it would be nice to know what exactly this means. ‘That's not to say I'm not skilled.' My mom taught me a how to lockpick and my dad taught me how to use a sword in both of my hands. So being ambidextrous helps. I prefer using two swords in a fight. I’ve never killed anyone, but I can't say I don't have the training.
He wrote down my name in his list. “You picked a bad time to visit Skyrim, Earther.” ‘Tell me something I don’t know.’
The Nord soldier turned to the captain. “Captain, What should we do with her? She’s not on the list.”
When the nord said that, I had hope. ‘Maybe I could at least get some jail time. Maybe they could let me go? Maybe-’
“Forget the list. She goes to block.”
I speak with a little disbelief in my voice as the small about of hope I had was quickly stomped out. “What?”
The Imperial nord looked guilty as he replied. “By your orders, Captain.”
The nord turned to me. “I'm sorry. We will be sure that send your remains back to Equestria. I wish there was more I could do.”
I look down at the ground as I give a big sigh. ‘I guess this is really it. Well, at least I can say I had a decent life.” I look back at the nord and the captain with more courage this time.
“...It's fine. I don't blame you. Her on the other hand.”
“Shut your mouth prisoner, follow me.”
I grumbled as I followed her to the other prisoners. As I stop to stand in the group I look to my left to see General Tullius talking to Ulfric who still had that cloth covering her mouth. “Ulfric Stormcloak. Some here in Helgen call you a hero. But a hero doesn’t use a power like ‘The Voice’ to murder his king and usurp his throne.”
Ulfric just makes muffled noises.
"You started this war, plunged Skyrim into chaos, and now the Empire is going to put you down, and restore the peace."
I could only stare dumbstruck and pissed after hearing that. ‘HE DID WHAT?! Ok now I understand why they want us all dead now. I can't imagine the uproar back home if something like that happened over in Equestria. Wait, what was that thing about ‘The Voice’?’
As I stand with the group a loud roar could be heard in the distance. Everyone was slightly surprised by that roar.
The imperial nord from before spoke. “What was that?"
The General shrugged it off and replied. "It's nothing. Carry on."
The bitch captain spoke. "Yes, General Tullius. Give them their last rites."
A new face shows up. It looked like some female priestess that then started to speak in a religious tone. "As we commend your souls to Aetherius, blessings of the Eight Divines upon you, for you are the salt and earth of Nirn, our beloved..."
‘At least they give us some kind of send off.’
Then a either very brave or very stupid Stormcloak soldier walked up and interrupted her "For the love of Talos, shut up and let's get this over with."
The priestess looked annoyed, but replied in a calm tone. "As you wish."
The Stormcloak Soldier walked to the chopping block and got down on his knees. The Captain then put her foot on his back and pushes him down so his head was on the block. The soldier showed no fear. "Come on, I haven't got all morning. My ancestors are smiling at me, Imperials. Can you say the same?"
I didn't close my eyes this time. I saw as the executioner brought down the ax and cut off the Stormcloak’s head. It was gruesome. I flinched when the ax came down.
A female stormcloak then screamed. "You Imperial bastards!"
A female imperial soldier shouted "Justice!"
Another female imperial soldier yelled. "Death to the Stormcloaks!"
Ralof then spoke directed at the dead soldier. "As fearless in death as he was in life."
I spoke silently. “Took the words right from my mouth.”
The bitch captain then pointed at me. “Next the horse.”
I glared at the captain. ‘Oh go fuck yourself.’ Ralof said to me. “Farewell Crystal.”
I replied “See you in the afterlife Ralof.”
I walk up slowly to the block. I was put into position waiting to die. Then another roar came again, and I saw something out of the corner of my eye ‘What the?’
The imperial nord from before spoke slightly unsettled. "There it is again. Did you hear that?"
The bitch captain was unfazed. "Ignore it! Continue!”
The Executioner raised his ax, and above the tower behind him I saw something absolutely terrifying. I screamed in fear as the scaly beast landed on top of the tower.
“Mother of Faust!”
General Tullius shouted. "What in Oblivion is that?!”
A Stormcloak soldier screamed. "Dragon!"
The beast on the tower then gave a giant shout that seemed to make Tartarus itself rain upon the town.
ROAAAAAAAAR!!!

What do you do when it seems that hell itself is raining?
[________________]
I nearly feel unconscious after that roar. I was dizzy, feeling sick, and fire was all around me as flaming boulders rained from the sky. The ‘Dragon’ was flying overhead, destroying everything in sight. I have never felt more scared or weak in my life.
Then Ralof of all people, somehow freed from his chains, pushed me out of the way right before a flaming rock from the sky hit me. We both got out of the way just in time.. “Come on Crystal, Get up, We have to get out of here.”
I quickly shook my head to and did my best to focus my attention on Ralof. “Right,” I coughed,, “don’t leave without me.”
I got back up onto my feet and follow Ralof best I could while trying not to get killed in the carnage. It was as if the all of (Hell is a foreign concept to both Equestria and Tamriel; Equestria has Tartarus, and Tamriel uses Oblivion was unleashed on this small town. It was hard to breath with all the fire and smoke, but I pulled through. I could see that the dragon wasn’t letting up on anything. I saw the dragon land and shoot its powerful fire at one of the many houses as it was obliterated.
I tried my best just keep moving and ignore my surroundings, but it was practically impossible with all the explosions and fire. ‘Faust, Luna, and Celestia please give me strenght to make it through this, I prayed. I then saw Ralof run into a tower and I quickly followed. I looked behind me to see the dragon land right behind me. I ran with all my might into the tower as some debris from the tower collapses in front of the door, blocking it completely(This line is covered by other lines before and after it, thus it is unnecessary. After I just barely made it through I tripped and landed on my flank. I lay there for a few seconds to catch my breath. ‘Mother of Faust, that was close!’
After few more seconds I got back up and I turned my attention to Ralof to see he is with Ulfric Stormcloak. I quickly glared at Ulfric, but he paid me no mind as Ralof spoke.
"Jarl Ulfric! What is that thing? Could the legends be true?"
"Legends don't burn down villages," Ulfric replied, grimly
‘Ok, I may not like you, but that's a good point.’
Ulfric looked curiously at me as I glared at him. “Look Earther, I know that your culture loves your diarchs (Yes diarch is a word, but it doesn’t seem to be in many dictionaries) and I can’t possibly imagine you trusting me after what General Tullius mentioned.”
I reply with some venom in my voice. “That would be an understatement, and the name is Crystal Fate. you monster(bastard or similar word might work better here).”
Ulfric didn’t look affected by the comment. “Be that as it may, Crystal, I am not going to let an innocent civilian like you die here. Whether you like it or not.”
I still glare at him angrily, but I sigh and speak. “Fine, if it's not to much to ask can I get these cuffs off?”
Ulfric pulls his sword out and cuts my chains off. “Thanks.”
We all hear the dragon roar again and the tower seems to shake. Ralof then yells. "Let's go! With me, up the tower!"
We climb up the tower until about halfway up when the stairs were blocked by some more debris. Before we could do anything, the dragon burst its head through the side of the tower next to us and nearly burned us to a crisp if we didn’t quickly move back. After It roared again it then left tower and flew high in the sky again. I walked up to the hole in the wall and saw many of the Imperials and Stormcloaks trying to kill the dragon with everything they have, but nothing affected that damn thing. The dragon retaliates, killing many soldiers from both sides. I look away from the death, but i could still hear their horrifying screams. “Oh my Faust. I think I am going to be sick.”
Ralof then comes up behind me. “No time for that now my friend. I need you to trust me.”
I looked at him very confused. “What are you talking about?”
Ralof then grabs both of my shoulders and speaks more louder and serious. “I need you to trust me!”
I then spoke with a little nervousness in my voice. “OK, I trust you.”
“Good. Remember to roll when you land.”
I look dumbfounded “What?”
While he was still holding onto my shoulders he pushed me out of the hole. I then fall through the hole on roof of the burning inn and landed in a hallway. I did what I was told and rolled, It still hurt, but not as much as I thought It would do. I quickly get back to my feet and scream at the top of my lungs at Ralof. “Are you insane!?”
Ralof then spoke with a bit of laughter in his voice. “Probably, but that hasn’t stopped me before! Now get going! We will catch up when we can.”
I decide to worry about it later later and keep moving. I kept running and once I reached the bottom floor of the inn I ran through one of holes in the wall and saw the Nord soldier from before. I watched as he rescued a child from one of the burning buildings. As I exit the building the dragon lands right in front of the Nord and the child. The Nord then yells. "Haming, hold on tight.”
The Nord grabs the child and they both get out of path of the fire that the dragon shoot out. Unfortunately someone wasn't as lucky. The nord screams. “Torolf! Gods Damn it!”
The dragon flew back into the sky and I went over to the Nord and ‘Haming’. The Nord then gives the child to another soldier for safety. I quickly walk over to see if there ok. The Nord from before noticed me.
"Still alive, prisoner? Keep close to me if you want to stay that way. Gunnar, take care of the boy. I have to find General Tullius and join their defense."
The Nord known as ‘Gunner’ replied. "Gods guide you, Hadvar."
‘Ok his name is Hadvar, and saving that child was pretty heroic, maybe he's not so-’
BOOOOM!!!
‘Right! Think about it later!’
We keep running through the carnage until we reach an alleyway between a house and a wall. Hadvar quickly stopped and before I could question why we stopped he grabbed me pushed me to walk and yelled. "Stay Down!"
That was when the dragon came back and landed on the wall right above us. Somehow the dragon didn't even notice us as it blasted its fire obliterating another house. ‘Please, for the love of Faust, don't see us.’
Amazingly, my wish came true and the dragon flew off of the wall without even seeing us. Hadvar then moved from wall and spoke. "Quickly, follow me!"
We then ran through the destroyed house and we see a group of imperial soldiers all firing arrows at the dragon. Then in one fell swoop, the dragon roared and killed the whole group instantly. I was knocked back a bit, but still standing. We keep running and passed by General Tullius who shouted at us. "Hadvar! Into the keep, soldier, we're leaving!"
Hadvar then said to me as we ran. "It's you and me, prisoner. Stay close!”
I replied. “You don't have to tell me twice!”
We ran to the keep and as luck would have it we ran into Ralof, but for some reason he was blocking our way. I then spoke. “Ralof? What are you doing? We need to get moving!” I then noticed that both Ralof and Hadvar were looking at each with extreme anger towards one another. ‘Uh oh.’
Hadvar spoke first. “Ralof! You damned traitor. Out of my way!"
Ralof replied in anger. "We're escaping, Hadvar. You're not stopping us this time."
Hadvar replied with frustration in his voice. "Fine. I hope that dragon takes you all to Sovngarde."
Ralof then turned to me as he ran to one side of the keep as Hadvar went to the other. "Crystal! Come on, into the keep!"
I saw that both of them want me to follow them. They wanted me to make a choice. ‘Oh you have got be kidding me.’ They both kept shouting me at the same time to try and convince me to go with one of them. I then started to panic a bit. ‘Oh Faust this is not the time for me to make choice like this! I can't decide!’
Then, the choice was made for me. The dragon landed on the roof of the keep and blasted some fire on the ground near the two soldiers. Both Hadvar and Ralof were forced to get inside the keep. Leaving me alone.
The dragon soon stopped blasting it's fire and turned its attention to me, its eyes meeting mine. The dragon was looking at me as predator finds its prey. I don't think I've ever felt more fear in my entire life then right now. So did the only thing I could.
I ran away screaming.
“AHHHHHHH!!!!!”
The dragon roared and jumped down from the build and started following me on ground level.
‘Oh Faust, Oh Luna, Oh Celestia, please help me!’ I kept running through the battle zone trying to shake this dragon off my tail. It kept shooting flame at me as I did best to dodge. I the ran through one of the the still intact houses doors and ran out the back door. ‘Hopefully that will slow it-’
BOOOOOOOOOM!!!
I saw that debris from the recently destroyed house was falling down around me, both small to large. I was moving all over the place so I don't get crushed. “Faust Damn It! Luna Damn it! Celestia Damn it!”
I made a dodge to the left, barely escaping being crushed. I stop for second to catch my breath behind one of the large pieces of debris. The dragon had lost sight of me after that building exploded. ‘ok this is my chance to get away. Now where is exit in this damned(unless you have personal reasons otherwise, don’t be afraid to swear a little, the game is rated “M” in Australia/New Zealand, so a good portion of the players will most likely be at least in their teens, if not older) town.’
I looked around carefully so the dragon wouldn’t see me. I saw the front gate of the town, wide open. I can't tell if the dragon has seen it or not from this position. ‘No, can't risk that thing seeing me again. There has to be another way.’
As I looked around to see another way, I then hear the steps of the dragon are getting closer. I do my best not panic, but it's not exactly easy with a dragon trying kill you. ‘Come on! I need a exit! Anything! I don't want to die!’
I didn't want to admit, but I was on the verge of crying. ‘Please! I don't want to die.’
Then, I saw it. A way out, a hole near by one of the destroyed houses. It looked like it went into a underground cave. And it wasn't as far as the front gate. ‘YES!’
Without thinking I took a chance and ran with everything I had left. The dragon noticed me again and took its own chance. It took a deep breath. I was so close. ‘Almost… there!’
“FUS!”
I jump toward the hole. Just seconds away.
“RO!”
I fall in the hole.
“DAH!!!”
I heard a loud boom as I fell through the hole. The hole was deeper then I expected. “AHHHH!”
I fall and land on my flank. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt. Instead I feel that landed on something soft and furring. I look down too see I'm on the body of dead bear with several arrows in it. I do my best to not think about it and look up. I see that debris from the town was blocking the hole. That dragon accidentally just secured my escape.
“ha…”
“hahahaha…”
“HaHaHaHaHa…”
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
I have no idea why I laughed. I wouldn't be surprised I just went crazy for minute. I was just so glad I finally got out of there. “Oh thank Faust…”
I got off the dead bear and looked at my surroundings. I was in a damp cave and I saw the dead bodies of both imperials and stormcloaks. It looks like they all killed each other.
“Poor bastards. Even with a fucking dragon outside they choose to kill each other.”
I looked around at the bodies to see if they have anything of worth on them. ‘it's not likely they will be needing this stuff anymore.’
I searched all the bodies in the cave, half imperials, other half stormcloaks. I started with all their gold and potions and put them in my inventory. ‘Equestria sure can be creative with magic. I know that skyrim is happy about it. I can’t imagine anyone in skyrim who doesn’t have these magical pockets.’ I then looked at all the female soldiers to see if any of their armor or clothing could fit. ‘Anything better then these rags.’
I eventually settled on a iron chest plate and gauntlets, steel cuffed boots, and a Nord helmet with horns. I walked to one of the puddles and saw my reflection in my ‘new’ armor. ‘Not my best look, but it'll get me by.
I went back to bodies and looked for weapons. I took an Imperial bow, all their steel arrows, and two steel swords. One in each hand. I smiled as I give both swords a few practice swings. “Now this is more like it.”
Suddenly I heard a weird noise. I looked around a bit and didn't see anything. ‘Is someone still alive down here?
I looked all around me and I couldn't find anything. Then suddenly the noise sounded closer and louder. ‘What is that? It sounds like it's right on top of…’ That's when it hit me.
I slowly look up to see something almost as terrifying as the dragon.
A giant spider.
I quickly moved out of the way before the huge spider fell down from ceiling. The big thing hissed at me and spit something at me. I ducked my head as it missed barely me.
I pulled out my swords and was kinda pissed. “Ok whatever you are, I just had the most traumatic experience of my life and I barely escaped with my life, if you think you can just come down and kill me like that dragon almost did. YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING!!!”
The spider just stood there for moment not understanding a word. It then walked closer me to try and bite me. I sidestepped out of the way. “OK THAT’S IT!”
I then stroked down on one of the giant spider’s legs and cut it clean off. The spider screamed as I made another strike for one of legs cutting it off. I repeated this process until all eight legs were cut off. The spider was in horrible pain, and with one more strike I stabbed my right sword right into its forehead killing it. I then pulled my sword out and got down to knees and then to my back. I was breathing heavily.
“Well that was different,” I gasped.
I laid on my back for several minutes just breathing deeply.
Eventually I got back up. “Ok, I need to get out of this cave before I go any crazier than what I did there.”
I looked around and see a path that goes further into the cave. I walked through it looking for anything that might help me get out of here.
I put the swords up and I look around. After about ten minutes of walking and killing a big rats on the way I reached the mouth of the cave and see the exit and daylight. ‘Finally.
I walk to the opening and see a beautiful landscape of nature and high mountains and ruins. “Wow, now That's a view.”
“ROAR!!!”
I quickly jump back further into the cave and see that dragon from before was flying away into the distance. Once it was completely gone from my sight. I walked slowly out of the cave. “That was close.”
I look down and see a road and it seems to lead to a small town at the bottom of the hill.
“Huh, something tells me things are going to be a lot different for me from now on.”
Author's Note
