Prologue: Star Vs the Forces of Crippling Lonliness
To say that Star Butterfly was having anxiety issues upon arriving back to Muni is to say Genghis Khan dabbled in real-estate. Still in a worn blue dress with a pair of fiendish-looking boots, the 14 year old goldilocks was having an internal debate. Needless to say, she was losing. He hates me now, I know it. He probably doesn't hate you, just no longer can be around you without having to relive that awkward moment where you confessed your feelings about him in front of his girlfriend. Smooth, tiger. Unable to take the words echoing in her mind of her greatest flounder yet, Star went to her magical mirror to consult her MBFF, Princess Pony Head, a blue floating unicorn head, who was also at the party the day before. She rang her up, and waited for her to respond. What she didn't expect to see was her friend picking up on her portable mirror, floating where Star's old room on Earth was. Looking at its blank state made Star even more nervous about the oncoming storm to hit her, assuredly.
"Uh, B-fly? We need to talk. Now." Pony Head stated, very adamant and neutral about she phrased her next words. "You, uh... Kinda broke Marco, I guess? He ain't movin'." Star approached calmly, and methodically:
"OhmygodisheokwhappenedwhileIwasgonehowmuchisdifferentdidsomeonedieismarcodeadwhattheactualf-"
"Star, chill! Marco is alive, just..." Pony Head tried to find sensitive words to say, but none were in her vocabulary. "He's been standing there stuttering since you left, nothing has made him respond. We need you back on Earth, Star. Fix him, this mess... Bring things back the way they were."
Star thought about the words of her friend, and took them to heart. She looked to her wand, fixed in the bag on her hip, and remembered who she would give it up to save. Putting on her strongest smile, she looked back to the mirror. "I need to find a way past my parents. I get to work on that, you help fix Marco. Is Jackie there?" Star inquired. Jackie, the stylish skateboarder Marco had started dating, was probably the only other person that could get through to him.
"...She's asleep, she stayed up really late last night trying to get Marco some sleep. It might be a while before she's up again..." Pony Head said, in a worrying tone. Never before had anything like this affected Marco so much, and now he stands, struggling with all his will to speak a syllable. Jackie was probably stressed as much as she was, more so even. Realizing that, Star came to the conclusion that all the help she could give had been given. She decided to say goodbye, and hung up. Not too much later, night fell. Feeling exhausted, Star decided to retire. In about 7 seconds, she realized it had just been morning, although now the sky was black, and she found herself worn out. Her explanation came in a whirlwind, surely changing her and those she held dear. The current queen of the land, Moon Butterfly, chose this moment to bust down the door, covered in injuries that hadn't healed from the night before... Also, some fresh ones. Upon closer inspection, Star realized this was the work of magic draining. Looking to her mother, Moon only managed a single sentence:
"This... Is for your own good. So... Sorry..."
Without warning, a portal had been opened behind Star with the last of the energy Moon's damaged dimension scissors had. She gently pushed Star into it, but with enough force to catch her off guard. Moon sealed the portal behind Star, knowing that wherever she ended up, she was safer than she was here. A tall, slender figure in a very sharp business suit came around a corner, and into the room Moon was now the only one in. With a wide grin, he pointed his hand at her, revealing a now jagged and corrupt half of a star. He began to speak. "My my, Moon, how the mighty have fallen! What, with my power having Muni right under my thumb: what say you that you hand over the remaining wand to me, and I don't enslave your race? Hmm? A better trade than what you offered US." He exclaimed. Hearing Moon's soft chuckles, he began to crease his brow in thought. "What did you do!?" he shouted. Moon gave him the answer he didn't want.
"Far, far away from any dimension we have traveled to. I sent her somewhere, but to where, nobody shall ever know."
---About 2 hours in time forward---
Headache. Nighttime. Morning. Everything that just seemed to happen those last couple moments were a blur, and she lost focus on all but one memory. Marco. The thought of his stuck, almost panicked expression was burned into her mind, and she rose immediately. She found herself in a forest, in what appeared to be natural serenity. She clearly wasn't in her castle, and not anywhere she recognized from her vast time on Muni or Earth. A simple check of items, and she realized that the only things she had were a pocket mirror, her wand, and the clothes on her back. She stared all around her, to make sure that she was truly alone. Then, she began to explore.
She found that so many creatures were just... Relaxed and at peace, somehow. Even the snakes she found numerous of seemed peaceful to say the least. The only thing that showed even slight concern was this yellow pegasus that she would sometimes eye following her around. Other than that, though, she continued her thoughts. Why was she here? Where was Marco and her friends? Where was she? What dang dimension was she in that her mirror didn't have service? She continued her trek onwards, to discover this new land.
