My husband….. DEAD..... My soul.. EMPTY… I feel… ALONE... All the things that Billy, my flight school bully, had said when I was younger… I would be all alone and everything I love will slowly fade in a horrible way.. Of course like an idiot…. I didn’t believe him…. And now… The love of my life… Soarin… Is gone… Forever… And there is nothing I can do about it… My life…. Has completely changed….
“Wake up Rainbow Dash!!”
I heard a high pitch voice that pierced my eardrums.
“Not yet… 5 more minutes…”
I complained and rolled over.
“Come on now Dashie!! It’s time to get up!!”
She squealed louder.
“Pinkie!!”
I shouted.
“You’re hurting my ears!!!”
Pinkie sat down beside my bed as a Purple Unicorn came in and told Pinkie to calm down and that I needed to rest before I went to see The WonderBolts perform. I rolled over and then I saw the clock on my nightstand. I gasped.
“OMG!! THE SHOW IS IN A HALF AN HOUR!!!!”
I screamed.
“WAIT! Where’s Soarin!?”
“He’s at The Wonderbolt headquarters.” Twilight answered.
“He told us to tell you that he didn’t wanna wake you in your adorable slumber.” I raced to the bathroom and got ready to go to the WonderBolts.
We had been at the Wonderbolt show for about an hour now and we saw the worst thing in the face of the universe. It started to storm…. And without warning… Lighting struck… It hit Soarin on the side…. He had almost fallen to his death if it wasn’t for me…. He would’ve fallen 100ft from CloudsDale all the way to the open field of PonyVille...
I have been waiting in the waiting room for an half an hour now waiting for the nurse to say something.
“I’ve been waiting here for 3 hours now Fluttershy… What do I do??”
I complained. Fluttershy looked at me and sighed,
“I don’t know Dashie…”
She replied and then turned away, her eyes filled with tears. I looked over at her and sighed.
“Don’t cry Fluttershy… It’s okay…..”
I told her as my eyes began to fill with tears as well. I began to cry, I feared for the life of Soarin.
‘What if he dies?’
‘How long do I have with him?’
‘Will he suffer?’
These were questions that kept going on over and over in my head. I began to cry even more.
‘What am I going to do?’
This was the particular statement that kept playing over and over in my head.
The nurse came out of Soarin’s hospital room.
“Nurse! How is he!? Is he going to live!?”
I asked. The nurse looked at me and gave me a slight sigh.
“Your husband doesn’t look like he’s gonna live very long. You might wanna go into the room and keep an eye on him for awhile.”
I looked at her and raced into the room to see Soarin.
“Soarin?”
I said. Terrified to see what he looks like.
“D-dashie?... I-... Is th-that y-...you…?”
He stuttered. I looked over at Soarin and saw the huge burn mark on his side. “Are you okay?”
I asked him. He looked at me and sighed.
“The n-nurse s-s-aid I wouldn’t live much lo-longer hu…...hun…”
I looked at him and began to cry.
“What am I going to do without the love of my life Soarin?”
I asked him. Soarin’s heart rate had dropped.
“Soarin?!” I had said in fright. And then… I heard the machine… It had a long beep had echoed throughout the room, Soarin had died right then.. I broke down in tears.
“NO!!! SOARIN PLEASE COME BACK!!!!”
I screamed and hugged him as tight as I could. My friends had come into the room and saw me crying my eyes out and holding Soarin as tight as I could.
“R-Rainbow..”
I heard a voice that sounded southern.
“I know how ya feel right now.. I felt the same way 16 years ago…. Ya need to let go….”
She told me.
“I-... I can’t AppleJack!!! My heart is broken and nopony can fix it!!!”
I complained and cried harder.
“Let the doctor look at him so they can see if they can bring him back, darling.” “They can’t save him! He’s long gone!!!”
I shouted with tears streaming down my face.
2 weeks had passed since Soarin had passed away, my heart had been broken for that long.. I had heard a knock at my door and I shouted,
“No one’s home!! GO AWAY!!”
Tears were falling down my ever so red face.
“Dashie!! It’s us… Please we know you are home…”
I heard from the other side of the door.
“Please leave….”
I said, my voice sounding shaky and rough.
“Darling how long have you been crying? You sound terrible!”
Rarity had said to me. I began to hear Pinkie Pie crying though the door as if she was imitating me..
“Stop crying Pinkie!”
I shouted.
“You hardly even knew him like I did! You’ll never understand my pain!!! Or how much I loved him!!! And now he’s gone!!!!”
I didn’t hear anything after I was done yelling.. I opened the door and they were all scared of me.
“I… I am sorry.. I’ve never yelled like that before…”
I said in fright as Fluttershy’s eyes filled with tears.
“It’s okay, Rainbow Dash. We came here to see if you were okay. We can obviously see that you’re not holding up all that well….”
Twilight said, walking toward me.
“I wanna just forget everything that happened 2 weeks ago… But…. I can’t….”
I said with my eyes drooping to the floor.
“We know Dash.. We can’t either… We’re all very sorry about what happened that night.. But you have to cheer up at some point…”
Twilight had said to me. I looked at her, sighed, and then looked away.
Twilight had been talking to me about the situation for an hour or so… I have never cried so hard in front of my friends before..
“Did you ever want anything more with Soarin? Like kids?”
She asked me. I cried a bit more.
“Y-yes.. He wanted 2 kids… Spectating Bolt and Lightning Bolt..”
I said while whimpering and crying a bit more. Twilight went over to comfort me but I pushed her away.
“I… I don’t need to be comforted.. I’ll be okay..”
I said. Twilight gave me a look, she knew I was lying.
“You’re lying Rainbow Dash. We all know you are.”
Pinkie pie said. I looked at her and growled.
“You're not helping my case Pinkie!!”
