Twilight Sparkle was sitting in her room quietly. She could catch up with her friends later as she had important business to take care of. So she got to work replying to letters from the princess and cleaning her library. She found Spike sleeping in his room. She went over to him and woke him up.
Spike looked up at her and rubbed his eyes. Slowly he looked out the window and saw that he had fallen asleep. He blushed as he must have been really tired that he was unaware that he fell asleep. He looked to her as she spoke to him. She made sure that he wasn't disorientated.
"Spike? Sorry I woke you up but it's a little past lunch do you want anything?" She asked him hoping he wasn't mad. He rubbed his head with his hand and looked at her again his eyes adjusting to the room. He then replied to her.
"Sure. Can you make me something quick?" Spike asked. Twilight nodded. She went out to the main part of the library and made him what he requested. He made himself presentable and then ate his lunch. She watched him. Soon he went out. She then got to work cleaning her place and sorting through old books.
While she worked away there was a knock on her door. She went over to it and saw Fluttershy. Before Twilight could say anything she was hugged by her friend. She hugged Fluttershy back as she wondered if Fluttershy needed her. She looked at the floor as Fluttershy was quiet.
"Fluttershy are you okay?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy hugged Twilight tighter. Twilight wondered what happened. She knew for a year that Fluttershy has been having problems with depression and self harm ever since she found out about it. She hoped it wasn't that.
"Twilight...please don't be mad at me!" Fluttershy begged. Twilight had an idea on what was about to be revealed to her she made sure to stay calm for her friend and help her through it.
"It's okay Fluttershy just tell me." Twilight said. Fluttershy gulped and hugged even tighter.
"I just...cut myself....several times....I'm sorry!" Fluttershy sobbed with tears streaming down her face. Twilight nodded.
"I'm sorry I don't mean to be an attention seeker!" Fluttershy sobbed. Twilight shook her head as she needed to get a Fluttershy help.
"It's okay Fluttershy. I'm going to help you!" Twilight said pulling away. Twilight looked at Fluttershy while Fluttershy was crying.
"Fluttershy I'm going to give your therapist a call and take care of your arms! Do not touch them don't do anything!" Twilight instructed.
"I won't!" Fluttershy cried. Twilight rushed to her bathroom and grabbed some bandages and then ran back to Fluttershy. She gently led Fluttershy into the bathroom and turned on the water. Twilight gently washed the blood off as Fluttershy sobbed. She then dried her arms off gently and wrapped them in bandages. She gently led Fluttershy back to the couch and sat her down she then made a call to Fluttershy's therapist.
Twilight spoke to Fluttershy's therapist quickly while Fluttershy sobbed. Twilight felt stupid as she thought that Fluttershy's therapist came in. She wanted to find out she went to Fluttershy. She spoke as calm as she could.
"Fluttershy? Did you see your therapist today?" Twilight asked. She tried to control her emotions as she was afraid for her friend.
"No! Please I need to see somebody! Im scared!" She sobbed. Tears fell from her eyes. Twilight nodded and ran to her phone. She then dialed Fluttershy's therapist and doctor. She then waited and then spoke quickly but firmly asking for Fluttershy's therapist. She then waited and then explained the situation to them. They understood and they told her to keep watch of Fluttershy and would see her immediately.
She hung up and explained it to Fluttershy. Fluttershy sobbed loudly as twilight tried to calm her down. Fluttershy was crying hysterically. Slowly Spike entered the library Twilight mentally cursed and spoke to him.
"Spike! Wait outside!!" Twilight yelled. Spike gave her a confused look and walked closer Twilight became agitated.
"Twilight...what's going on?" Spike asked getting to close. Twilight lost it.
"Spike get away from her!" Twilight screamed. Spike jumped back.
"Sweet Celestia! You don't have to yell at me! I come in and you pounce my fucking throat and then I ask and you fucking scream!" Spike shouted. Twilight turned to him and yelled.
"Spike!" Twilight screamed. Spike ran to his room and slammed his door shut. Twilight turned to Fluttershy. Fluttershy was sobbing but trying to tell Twilight something.
"Twilight...you didn't..." Fluttershy started to say but Twilight waved her off and spoke.
"No he needs to mind his own business. You need help!" Twilight said. Fluttershy nodded. Soon Fluttershy's therapist came and Twilight breathed a sigh of relief. Fluttershy sobbed as she spoke to Nurse Redheart and Nurse Redheart nodded and guided Fluttershy out. Twilight breathed out a sigh of relief.
Soon Nurse Redheart got Fluttershy to her hospital and treated Fluttershy's wounds and Fluttershy sobbed as she spoke to her therapist. Soon Nurse Redheart came back to Twilight and spoke to her.
"Twilight." She started to say. Twilight ran up to her and started asking her questions.
"Will she be okay?!" She asked.
"Yes but I think we need to talk about something." Nurse Redheart said. Twilight became nervous for her friend.
"Twilight I think we need to think about raising protection for Fluttershy from herself." Nurse Redheart said. Twilight knew exactly what the doctor was saying and yelled in protest she didn't want her friend to be put into a mental asylum.
"No! You are not institutionalizing her!! Do you hear me!?!" Twilight screamed. Nurse Redheart jumped back a bit from the yelling and spoke.
"Alright Twilight don't yell." Nurse Redheart said.
"Get the fuck back!" Twilight screamed. They all stepped back. Twilight screamed loudly.
"Your are not institutionalizing her!" Twilight screamed. Nurse Redheart nodded.
"We aren't institutionalizing her! Now can you please move out of the way we need to check on her! We are not institutionalizing her." Nurse Redheart said loudly. The doctor confirmed.
Twilight felt like an idiot. She blushed. Nurse Redheart stepped back from Twilight. Twilight felt immediate embarrassment fall over her. She felt so wrong doing that. She spoke.
"Alright fine you can check on her wound!" Twilight spoke. The doctor slowly walked to her room and wiped the sweat off his brow. Twilight was to embarrassed to look the doctor in the eyes. Twilight wished she couldn hide somewhere. She quickly ran to a private area.
Slowly she waited. She hoped that they didn't trick her and take Fluttershy. She waited as Nurse Redheart talked to Fluttershy. Twilight watched the entrance quickly as they were going to trick her. Twilight waited for them to come out. Her breathing was heavy.
She became anxious. She hoped that they weren't trying to restrain her and escape another way just to trick her. She was not going to have that. Soon the door opened and Nurse Redheart walked out with the doctors. They did not have Fluttershy with them.
Twilight felt stupid for putting up a fight in there for no reason at all. She judged the situation wrong. Nurse Redheart walked up to her. She had a look of anger in her. She spoke.
"There! We checked her! That's all we did! Either Don't accuse me of crap that's obviously false next time or don't call for for help and deal with it yourself! We tried to go up that room to try and help her and you start accusing us!" She ranted.
"Don't accuse us of crap that we don't do! We don't institutionalize people anymore we take care of them individually! Equestria did away with mental wards along time ago for more community mental health one on one programs!" Nurse Redheart said in anger as she was upset. She threw a packet on the ground and left in a huff as Twilight was shocked at what she learned she felt so stupid.
She then picked up the packet that she was given and it confirmed Nurse Redheart's story. Twilight blushed from embarrassment. She started to cry. She hoped that Twilight didn't upset Fluttershy when she did that. She also realized how much of a bitch she had been to Spike.
She went up anyway and saw Fluttershy. She was glad that her friend was okay. Fluttershy turned to her and Twilight sat down. Fluttershy spoke.
"Twilight I'm sorry. I'm not an attention seeker. I was just cutting because I just need to deal with the pain....I had no other way!" Fluttershy cried. Twilight hugged her.
"It's okay Fluttershy I'm not mad at you. I want you to rest. Is there anything that you want to eat?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy shook her head and laid down.
"I'm fine I'll take a nap. I feel horrible I want you to stay here for a few minutes." She said. Twilight smiled and sat by Fluttershy. She and Flutterhsy talked for a few moments. Twilight made sure that Fluttershy knew that as she wasn't mad at a Fluttershy and that she didn't think it was her fault.
Twilight asked Fluttershy if she wanted anything else and Fluttershy said no. Twilight nodded and Fluttershy called her therapist and made arrangements to see her more so that this wouldn't happen again. She felt bad but she remembered what Twilight said so she stopped.
Soon Fluttershy looked at Twilight and remembered what Twilight said to Spike. She thought that Twilight was to rough with him so she spoke to Twilight hoping to get through to Twilight.
"Twilight can I talk to you about something? Don't get mad at me?" Flutterhsy asked. Twilight turned to her smiling as she wanted to make Flutterhsy feel at home.
"Sure you can. No I won't get mad at you." Twilight said as she wanted to know what Fluttershy was going to say.
"You don't have to treat Spike like that." Flutterhsy said. Twilight sighed mentally to herself as she was angry with Spike she gave her a concerned look.
"Fluttershy he..." She stated to say but Fluttershy wasn't having anything to do with it. Twilight tried to continue but was cut off by Fluttershy as Fluttershy wanted to show Twilight her error.
"No! You had no right to treat him like that! And don't patronize me either! I saw that look you gave me! Knock it off Twilight I'm tired of it! You were rude and acted like a bitch I know you were trying to help me but Spike is my friend and he wanted to make sure I was okay! And the thing with doctors was assnine Twilight what you accused them of was so stupid that I couldn't believe it! They haven't don't that to patients in years! Stop the crap Twilight your being rude!" Fluttershy ranted.
Alright!!!" Twilight yelled in frustration as she was completely thrown off by how right Fluttershy was. Twilight sighed as she felt frustrated. She got up to go to Spike as she was nervous of apologizing to him. She felt guilty.
"I'm sorry alright! I'll go apologize to him. God everybody is jumping down my fucking throat." Twilight ranted as she walked up while knowing that Fluttershy was right. She felt guilty for how she treated Spike and Fluttershy got her to see her mistake.
She got up to Spikes room and she felt nervous. She calmed herself down so that she wasn't agitated while apologizing as she wanted to make sure it was sincere. She didn't feel angry anymore and she knew a Fluttershy was right. She went to Spike and spoke.
"Spike I'm sorry for what I did. It wasn't right of me. You were just making sure your friend was okay and I attacked you. Im sorry Spike." Twilight said sadly. Spike got up and hugged her.
"It's alright. I'm not mad anymore. I'm just upset because I wanted to know about my friend and you blew up at me." Spike said as the words stung Twilight by how truth full they were. Twilight nodded knowing how wrong she was to treat Spike like that as Spike hung out with her friends as well. She felt horrible.
"You can see her." She said. Spike nodded and went up to see Fluttershy. When he got there he sat down by her. Twilight gave them privacy. Spike talked to her for a few moments. He then walked back out and Twilight continued to stay in thought about her friend.
After an hour she went up to Fluttershy and spoke to her. Fluttershy turned around and listened.
"I apologized. I'm sorry for being like that. It wasn't right of me to yell at him or get frustrated with you. And I wasn't trying to patronize you but if I seemed like it then I'm sorry." Twilight said. Fluttershy nodded
"Good that was a good thing to do. Your forgiven. I'm sorry for cutting myself." Fluttershy said. Twilight hugged her.
"No you don't have to apologize for something that you are having trouble with. You are going through a tough time so I understand"
"Next time when that happens and Spike is around tell him honestly and be nice." Fluttershy said. Twilight nodded as she was scolded. She completely deserved it to as she knew it. She also knew that Fluttershy was right.
She was so glad that she could help Fluttershy. She hoped that Fluttershy could control her problem. Later the next day Fluttershy spoke to her therapist about the incident. They finally decided to limit her sharp household appliances so she wouldent be able to do it as much and they kept the same level of visits for her to once each day.
Twilight told Celestia about the incident and she described how she acted which she apologized for. Celestia told her that it wasn't right for her to act suspicious thinking that there was a plan to put Fluttershy in a mental hospital which wasn't the case and that the doctor was not trying to sneak past Twilight. The doctor just wanted to check on Fluttershy.
After that talk Twilight went back to her place. And calmed herself down as it was all over she also vowed to never act like that again.
