Ascension Detention

A mark of one's destiny, singled out alone, fulfilled.

"Wait a second, That's it!" the unicorn, Twilight Sparkle, said to her friends. "I understand now. I know how to fix the spell." She led the group into the Golden Oaks library and opened Starswirl's book. "From all of us together, together we are friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end," she said aloud as she wrote. Suddenly, all of her friends' elements of harmony lit up and beams of magic sprang forth at Twilight in the middle. In a flash of white light, she vanished.

Twilight appeared in a lavish bedroom. She recognized it. It was Princess Celestia's royal bedchambers in Canterlot Castle. The door opened, and Princess Celestia walked inside.

"Congratulations Twilight. I knew you could do it," Celestia said.

"Princess! I don't understand. What did I do?" Twilight asked.

"You did something today that's never been done before. Something even a great unicorn, like Starswirl the Bearded, was not able to do. Because he did not understand friendship like you do. The lessons you've learned in Ponyville have taught you well. You have proven that you are ready, Twilight," Celestia said.

"Ready? Ready for what?" Twilight asked. Celestia took a couple of ornate cups from her cabinet and filled each of them. She placed them both on the table, inviting Twilight to sit across from her. Twilight sat and took one of the chalices, drinking it. She never really cared for wine. This one in particular tasted especially bitter.

"You are ready to fulfill your destiny," Celestia said.
