For years ponies thought that Ponyville stands un-guarded. When Twilight thinks about having some guards in Ponyville, this causes Granny Smith to tell the girls the tale of Ponyville Guardian.
Once Granny Smith hears that Twilight is thinking about getting some guards in Ponyville to make the town seems a little safer. The other girls are finding it hard to decide, so Granny Smith tells them about the tale of Ponyville guardian. A unicorn and how Ponyville itself was almost destroyed.
