Helping A Friend Get To Sleep

Twilight was silently laying in her bed in during nighttime but wasn't asleep. She couldn't get to sleep. She had the covers over her as she laid there. Spike was already asleep as she looked around her room with her horn illuminating the darkness. She looked over at her bookcase and saw that all the books were put in place.

Twilight looked up at the ceiling unable to sleep. She didn't know why she couldn't go to sleep. She didn't have any work to do so why was she still awake when she didn't need to be awake. She closed her eyes and tried to keep them close while trying to ease her mind and drift into sleep but that didn't work.

She laid there continuing to do that to go to sleep. But no matter how hard she tried she still couldn't sleep. She looked over at Spike and wondered if she should tell him. She then thought that option over and knew that it wouldn't be fare to Spike as it was her problem and he needed the rest.

She laid back down and closed her eyes again. She turned over to her other side and tried to sleep that way. She waited as she staid still in that position while having her eyes closed. She staid there trying to fight herself to make herself fall asleep but it didn't work for her.

She groaned as she was starting to get annoyed. She didn't have any sugar before she went to bed so she shouldn't be having this problem but unfortunately she was and it was annoying to her as she didn't have anything that day to keep her up. She's never had this problem before either as she always had an easy time going to sleep.

She was starting to get very agitated as she didn't feel tired. She had no idea what to do. She hoped that this wasn't going to be a repeated event that happens to her as she wanted to try and catch some sleep some time soon. She looked over to Spike and sighed. She was nervous about waking Spike up for help.

She looked around and decided she couldn't take it anymore and tapped Spike on the shoulder. He snored away as she tapped him. She then shook him gently and he woke up and rubbed his eyes as he turned to look up at Twilight and then he spoke to her.

"What's wrong?" Spike asked. Twilight hoped that Spike could help. She hoped that Spike wouldn't shrug off her problem and go back to sleep. She needed help if she was ever going to sleep. She hoped that Spike wasn't mad at her for waking him up to ask for help.

"I can't sleep!" Twilight asked getting upset. Spike got up and touch her shoulder to try and calm her down as he noticed Twilight was on the verge of tears and he hated to see Twilight cry. Spike wanted to help now as he knew how Twilight felt as he had the problem himself.

"It's alright Twilight I know how to get you to sleep." Spike said.after saying that he got a piece of parchment and paper and then started writing on it and then sent it to somepony with his magic. He then went back to Twilights room. Twilight wondered how Spike would help her.

"How are you going to help me?" Twilight asked. Twilight had a few questions on her mind. She wondered if the letter asked for help from one of her friends to get her to go to sleep. She wondered what was going to happen as Spike didn't say anything. Soon he spoke.

"I asked for one of your friends who knows what to do." Spike said. Twilight wondered what Spike meant by this. The only one she knew who would know how to get to sleep was Luna and Fluttershy. Luna was on her shift dream watching so she couldn't help Twilight and Fluttershy didn't really like the dark.

Soon Fluttershy walked into her room smiling. Twilight knew what spikes idea was. Fluttershy sat down in a chair and looked at Twilight. Twilight stared at Fluttershy smiling. Fluttershy then spoke.

"Twilight since you can't get to sleep. I have something that will. A lullaby. It's the lullaby I used for the Cutie Mark Crusaders before the cockatice incident." Flutterhsy explained. Twilight felt like it was silly as she was full grown mare and didn't need lullabies but at this point she would try anything as long as she just got to sleep.

"Thank you I'll try anything as long as I can sleep. Twilight said. Fluttershy smiled knowing that this would work for Twilight. Twilight had no idea if it would work tonight but decided to try it as she needed to get some sleep. Flutterhsy cleared her throat. Twilight laid her head down on her pillow and she pulled up the covers over her and Fluttershy began to sing as Twilight looked at her.

"Hush now quiet now it's to lay your sleepy head hush now quiet now it's time to go to bed." Flutterhsy sang in a soft voice. Slowly Twilights eyelids were closing and her breathing slowed as she fell asleep. Fluttershy smiled and petted Twilights hair as she was happy that she could help.

"Goodnight Twilight." Fluttershy whispered in a soft voice. Flutterhsy walked out the room and out of Twilights library while locking it for Twilight. She went home as Twilight was greatful that Fluttershy helped her get to sleep.
