                         Prologue

Prologue
I looked at my companion and saw she was looking afraid at the trail of black death we were about to cross. "Scared?" I ask.
"Y-yea I am Night," my companion replies.
"That's understandable. This is your first crossing correct?" I question. My companion nods in confirmation. "Be thankful you aren't doing this alone then," I say while giving her a smile.
"Yea so when do we cross?" She asks.
"When the death bringing creatures have a pause," I answer. She nods in understanding and we lapse into silence. I watch the trail and the creatures waiting for a break in the creatures. "Now," I say as I dart onto the trail with my companion close behind. I see one of the creatures come into view going faster than the other creatures as we neared the other side. "By my claws," I curse under my breath and shove my companion out of the way and onto the other side. "RUN!" I yell as the creature impacts into my side. "NOOOO!" I vaguely hear my companion scream as my vision starts to go black. I feel my body pulled into the grass of the other side. "Night! can you hear me?" my companion says. I weakly open my eyes and see my companion's worried face looking at me. "H-hey don't w-worry I m-might not live but," I say weakly.
"N-night don't leave me," my companion says.
"Y-you know I'm dying r-right."
"Y-yea I do but I don't want you too"
"L-listen to me w-when I say this. Pale Wing, I love y-you and a-always will. I will await you in the n-next life till then r-remember me."
"I love you too, Night," My companion said as my vision faded to black.
I open my eyes and see 6 ethereal beings. "It's awake" One of the beings says.
"So it is" another responds.
"Is it ready, though," a third asks.
"I believe so," the fourth says.
"All in favor of beginning say aye," the first says. five resounding aye's follow the first one's statement. "Let's begin," the fifth says. the ethereal beings nod and my vision goes black.
"there it should be waking up now then we can send it off" I hear a voice say. I open my eyes to see the beings from before watching me closly before they disappear in a flash of light.
