Your Own Torture

Twilight coughed up blood and doubled over on the ground. She blinked open the eye not rammed into the dirt. The last hope coughed as she took in shaky breaths. Equestria couldn’t end like this…

Eclipse laughed and laughed. Stopping for breaths every now and again. “THIS IS HILARIOUS!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD STOP ME!?!?!? OH!!! OH WAIT!!! YOU STILL THINK YOU CAN STOP ME!?!?!? DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”

Twilight watched she trot over. There was a tugging at her wing. She closed her eyes and was about to open them when a burning, hot pain rang through her. Her screams were high pitch and attempted to reach to the heavens, falling short by a long run. The last hope of Equestria had fallen as easily as the princesses before her. This was how everything would end.

There was no war. Only a thirst for destruction and chaos. Even Discord had fallen easily. It was so… Unfair. After Twilight had earned her power… All the pain she went through! A pony barely had to try in order to gain even more power than herself.

Twilight’s joint of her previous left wing twitched and bled. She only noticed now the lifeless wing tossed in front of her. Eclipse pushed down on her spine. It was light but then felt like hundreds on tones pressed down on her back. Twilight couldn’t feel any part of her anymore. She could only turn her head slightly to watch what the other alicorn was doing to her.

She watched as red magic took hold of her one remaining wing. The wings she had earned were stripped away in an instant. Twilight wanted to scream. She wanted to but no pain came. Nothing to triggered her vocal cords to work. Instead, Twilight started to sob.

The sobs were cut off as her muzzle was shoved into the ground. A sharp snap set off alarms in her head. The blood, threatening to blind her as it rolled down her face, a testament to that. She screwed her eyes shut and continued to sob into the dirt.

Eclipse’s laughter had trailed off. The silence assured Twilight the alicorn was thinking. “I know what I can do!” She turned to the stripped alicorn under her hooves. Surely she wanted to die right there. “With everything torn away from you- “

Eclipse bit Twilight on the ear. Without her nerves and eyes shut, Twilight didn’t know where they were going. The reaper laid her body on sand. “- you can live they rest of your days alone.”

Twilight’s eyes opened and widened. One of her eyes closing again as blood ran into it. She got onto her hooves a bit too swiftly which threw her off. Reaching out a hoof as the mare disappeared. It didn’t seem to occur to Twilight as she kept looking around where Eclipse had been.

Twilight choked on blood. Her vocal chords ripped out but she was somehow still alive. She coughed violently in response even though she didn’t care about the injury. Still pawing at the sand under her hooves for some sight of the alicorn.

Her blood stained the sand. How long until she snapped from the isolation. Three senses gone and one of the last two only half worked. Twilight continued to cough and cry. Hearing everything but her body lacking the response it should be having. It was already driving Twilight crazy.

Twilight stood there for what must have been hours. Her body finally collapsing. She attempted to move not realising her body had reached its limit. That she needed to rest. Now that she realised this was real, that she needed to move… Set off by her movements of collapsing, Twilight couldn’t.

“Are you okay Twilight?”

“We’re here for you!”

Twilight lifted her head to the noise. It was hard to see but she could make out nothing was there except a wasteland.

“You have much to learn.”

“Let’s go have a par-tay!”

“HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! You’re going to go mad here Twilight!!!”

The last voice caused her to try and get up again in panic. It was almost like she was in her head, taunting her.

“Oh god. Why can’t I just die? Why is this happening to me?”

She thought her voice echoed through her whole desert but the desert heard only coughs. Coughs coming from Twilight as she spat out blood. Laying in the sand.
