The Misadventures of Vacationing in Equestria
"Long ago in Equestria's past, in the time of the two sisters, there was a mysterious disturbance off in the Badlands. The source of this disturbance went unknown and soon left the forefront of the minds of the two sisters." said the orange unicorn with a tri-colored mane from the front of the lecturing hall. "I've been out to the Badlands recently and after taking a look around I believe that I found what was the source of that disturbance. These three were found deep within an underground complex and have been gathering energy while in a dormant state for the past nine thousand years or so." said the unicorn as three different colored orbs of what felt like pure magical energy were brought into the room.
"Mr. Booksalot, what is the reason you are telling us this in a class that's suppose to be about Theoretical Quantum Magics of History?" asked a forest green pegasus mare with pink eyes and a rosy pink mane.
"The reason that I am telling you all this is because I believe that this is about to become something really big in all of our lives, Ms. Hopeful Flight." Booksalot said as the bell rang dismissing the class which then started to leave the room. Booksalot used his magic to move the orbs over to the center of the hall before he left and turned off the lights, leaving the room bathed in the green, blue, and red lights coming from the orbs.
Later that night the green orb winked out and dropped a man onto the floor. As he started to get up, the other two orbs winked out and dropped two more men into the room. "Hey, Plasma, Ice, are you two doing alright?" asked the man that came from the green orb.
"I'm good." called the one that came from the white orb.
"How about yourself, Earth?" asked the last.
"I'll live, like normal." Earth said in response as the man that had come from the red orb created a light from his hand that floated up and started to flow across the ceiling. "Thanks Plasma."
"You're welcome." Plasma said as he looked around the room, his blond hair seeming to glow softly and the glass vials on his waist jingling with every step. "So where are we?"
"A lecture hall obviously." chuckled Ice as he shifted around in his armor checking its fit.
"Yeah but where is the hall?" Plasma asked turning to his friend with a slightly bemused expression.
"Well it wouldn't be much of an adventuring vacation if we knew that already." Earth said as he adjusts the black scarf around his neck and turns toward the door. "Someone is here." he stated as Booksalot walked into the room and gave them all a smile.
"Its another small horse with big eyes and a horn." Ice said curiously as he approached the unicorn that had walked in on them. Booksalot started neighing and moving his hooves about as if he was trying to talk to them. "Well he seems like a social little horsie." Ice said, smiling as he then reached out and ruffed up Booksalot's already messy looking tri-colored mane.
Booksalot lit his horn and quickly cast a spell while Ice was touching him, "There, now we should be able to talk to each other." he said as he knocked Ice's hands away from his mane.
"He just spoke. Small horses aren't suppose to speak." Plasma said, raising an eyebrow.
"Well I'm not a horse I'm a Pony, Unicorn sub species, my name is Booksalot. May I ask for the names of you three gentlecolts?" Booksalot asked giving another smile.
"Hey, new world, new rules." Earth told Plasma as he patted him on the back, "I am Earth, this is Plasma, and the fellow with a bad sense of humor and thinks he's funny, is Ice."
"Oi, I have my moments at being funny." Ice retaliated as Booksalot gave out a chuckle. "See even the pony thinks I'm funny."
"Actually I find the way you three are acting toward each other funny." Booksalot said with a shrug, "Anyways I think you all should come with me to my Library so that you can work on learning our language."
"Why can't you all do whatever it is that you did so we could talk?" Earth asked as he stepped over to the window and looked out at the ponies below going about their nightly lives in Canterlot. "So what is this place called?"
"No, not everypony in Equestria can cast magic, and its a difficult spell." Booksalot turned and started to leave the room. The three friends quickly looked at each other before following Booksalot. "Now what can be learned is a language, and that's something that will be very helpful to us all. I say this because we are in Canterlot the capital city of Equestria."
"Interesting." Plasma stated bluntly. "Honestly, this is a first with the ponies not understanding us."
A little while later the four were gathered around a table within Booksalot's library. "So, to make this work I'll be needing you three to talk to me, about anything really, and I'll be able to write it down taking notes so that we can learn each other's languages." He said pulling out the papers and quills to get to work.
"Well, my dear unicorn friend, our most resent adventure started when we decided to fake our deaths." Earth said with a smile, "We did this to pass on our legacy to the next generation and basically retire from our jobs as Gods."
"So, people of your kind worshiped you?" Booksalto asked.
"No, just the humans that came to be upon the planet I created, Azuseon." Earth stated leaning back in his chair. "We may have been treated as Gods, but we have always known that their are things stronger than us that actually let us be. Anyways, we started this most resent adventure of ours by putting our souls inside of our Elemental Blades, and sending them out to find suitable decedents for our powers."
"Once we did that, our souls split into more than just two parts." Plasma interjected.
"Yup, and from their started our journey across the Multiverse of Equestrias to find the parts of our souls." Earth said.
"Adventure, pain, sorrow, and new companions along the way." Ice stated with a chuckle "These are just a few of the emotions that will have come upon us in this grand journey."
