Trixie, dressed in simple clothes that would not draw attention to her, wandered along the row of booths set up outside the event's stadium. She had been inside a few minutes before, watching so called performers displaying their so called talents. A few had some skill, but in Trixie's opinion some had a long way to go before they would be able to put on a show worth watching. Trixie left the stadium because these days she was trying to be more polite than she once was, and she doubted it would have been considered polite to laugh at the feeble magic act being performed.
Besides, Trixie was hungry and there were many earth ponies running booths that sold whatever produce they grew in their orchards and farms. Trixie sampled several of the offerings, praising the growing skills of those whose food was worth it, biting her tongue and nodding politely to those that she suspected might have been trying to poison Trixie.
Trixie's favorite had been the cider that an orange colored mare with the cute accent was selling. She was tempted to go back for more, but the mare had given Trixie such an unfriendly look. She had also looked rather familiar. Had Trixie met her before? Maybe in Ponyville? Of course, she was one of Twilight Sparkle's friends. Best to stay away from them. Trixie had been at her worst in that town. She doubted they would want her around.
After sampling enough of the food being sold, Trixie went back to the stadium, curious to see who would be performing now. She stepped inside just in time to see the stage being set up for a musical performance. A band Trixie had never heard of calling themselves 'The Magix'. Trixie let out an amused snort at the name, remembering an annoying mare she’d met a few times called Finished Photo or some such. She’d had an odd accent and was always trying to capture 'da magics'.
The band walked out on stage, and the name made more sense to Trixie when she saw that the band's four members, two mares and two stallions, were unicorns. They were all dressed similarly, maybe it was meant as a band uniform? They wore black tee shirts with their band name on them. The mares’ shirts were cut short, revealing their stomachs up to just below their breasts. They also wore jeans with holes cut in the sides to expose their cutie marks. That part didn’t surprise Trixie; it was quite common for ponies to want their cutie marks to show. Trixie’s own stage costume had similar holes to show her cutie marks. As the band started to play, their horns all began to glow red, blue, purple, and pink, adding their magic skills to the music.
The mare standing in front began to sing, the purple glow of her horn traveling to her own throat, causing her voice to come out louder and every few seconds it would subtly change. It would get higher, then lower. It would echo or buzz. Trixie thought it was an interesting effect, though it made it difficult to understand the words she was singing. Maybe that was intentional?
Next to her a stallion was playing a saxophone. His horn glowed blue, and as he played, a stream of glowing music notes floated from his instrument and hovered above the crowd. This seemed silly to Trixie, but some ponies in the crowd were making appreciative sounds as a few tried to hit the floating notes. When one was touched, it popped like a soap bubble. Silly but amusing Trixie supposed.
The third member of the group was another stallion playing a guitar. His horn glowed bright red, and he seemed to be altering the colors of the lights pointed at the stage, making them flash and strobe in different patterns of colors. Some ponies might have found the effect exciting. It just made Trixie worry she'd get a headache from the flashes.
The last member of the group was sitting behind the others. Oddly she was sitting with two sets of drums angled in front of her. She was turned toward one set and her horn glowed pink as she played the drums with a steady rhythm. Then Trixie's eyes were drawn to the second drum set where she noticed a similar glow as a pair of drumsticks darted over the drums, perfectly matching the movements of the mare's hands. Not the flashiest talent but there was something mildly impressive about seeing her synchronize the two pairs of drumsticks. Then to Trixie's surprise the mare stood up and walked down to stand beside the other mare, softly joining in the singing. Now both sets of drums were playing along without pause and without a hand to play them.
This was still not the most impressive talent Trixie had seen, but it did show some skill and focus for the mare to keep 4 sticks moving in 2 pairs playing the drums without losing the rhythm of the music, and while singing as well. Trixie was not an expert in musical performances, but with the mix of magical and musical skills this band employed, Trixie suspected they might someday become a very popular group.
Trixie watched the band sing a few more songs, each accompanied by different magical effects. The drummer didn't leave her drums the rest of the time, but for two of the songs she played the drums without using her hands, letting her magic do the work while she watched the crowd.
When they were finished Trixie watched a few more performances, including a comedy act that only made Trixie laugh at how pathetic it was. Though Trixie was kind enough to help them out. They got many more laughs at the end when they went to leave and discovered the hard way that their legs had somehow ended up tied together. They really should have thanked Trixie for improving their finale, but then Trixie forgot to take credit for the assistance. Oh well.
After that disaster it was time for Trixie to go back stage to prepare for her turn to perform. In addition to paying the charity fee for performing, Trixie paid a bit extra to arrange a private dressing room. It was hardly the kind of accommodations Trixie was accustomed to, but at least she knew she had a private place to dress and prepare for her show. And if things went as Trixie hoped, she would have a place for her special plans for unwinding afterwards.
Trixie emerged from her dressing room when it was time for her performance. She was no longer wearing her casual clothes. She was wearing her tight fitting sparkly one piece stage outfit, her carefully groomed tail coming out through a small hole just below the zipper in the back. There were also holes on each hip to show her cutie marks. The tight outfit showed off Trixie's figure nicely, the front was low enough to show the tops of her breasts. Her arms were bare; Trixie never wore sleeves during her show. Ponies always accused her of hiding things in them if she did. But she did wear a pair of white gloves. Trixie added her hat and cloak to her outfit and made her way to the stage just as the event coordinator announced her as the next act, and Trixie smiled when she heard her fans cheering as the stage hands moved her props into position as she had requested earlier. Trixie paused just a moment in the shadow at the edge of the stage. She took a deep breath and let it out with a smile. It was show time.
Trixie's horn, hidden under her hat, lit up. Her magic triggered a small explosion on the stage, filling the area with smoke. She darted forward so as the smoke dissipated she would appear as if by magic. She took a brief moment to think dark thoughts about the fact that she had to rely on such tricks when some pony like Twilight could teleport herself for real anytime she wanted. It was so unfair. As the smoke cleared and the crowd applauded Trixie pushed such thoughts aside and smiled for her fans. She grabbed her cloak and with a flick of the wrist, and some help from her unseen horn, the cloak fluttered and twirled across the stage to hang itself on a stand at the other side. She kept the hat on her head. Part of what made her act such a success was the fact that with the hat hiding her horn, no one was certain how much of her act was unicorn magic and how much was stage tricks.
Trixie gave a short prepared speech about how pleased she was that so many ponies were there to see her, how honored she was to be part of such a wonderful event, and other such nonsense that sounded good but was the hardest part of the show for Trixie. Then she did a few simple tricks as a warm up. Making objects like flowers and cards appear and disappear using quick hand motions to hide the objects in her gloves or behind her back, held in place with levitation. She made a rabbit appear from her hat, and then tried to play it off as a joke when the little pest bit her hand and scurried off toward a yellow pegasus with pink hair that looked surprised to see the rabbit. That ungrateful rodent. Trixie had been nice enough to feed the critter before stuffing it into the box hidden in her hat three hours ago.
After a few more minor tricks, Trixie announced that for the next part of her show she would require an assistant. At least half of the audience raised their hands and screamed for Trixie to choose them. To add to the theatricality of the moment, and to give Trixie time to look for some pony the right size and shape for her needs, Trixie tossed her hat over the crowd. Her magic caused it to spin and float over their heads like a cone shaped UFO, spinning around looking for the right pony.
Off to one side of the crowd Trixe caught sight of a familiar mane and looked. The drummer from that earlier group was standing on the edge of the crowd and shaking her head, the motion of her swinging mane was what had caught Trixie’s eye. The singer mare was next to her, speaking excitedly to the other. Trixie watched them for a moment and it looked like the singer was trying to talk the drummer into raising her hand, but the drummer seemed shyly reluctant. Odd, considering she’d been on stage a few hours ago. Trixie studied the drummer mare. She had a nice figure, a cute young face. Her coat was a pleasant purple and her long mane was a curious shade of light blue with black lines. She wasn’t wearing the band shirt anymore but a longer shirt.
After a few more seconds the singer convinced the drummer to raise her hand, and Trixie smiled and caused her hat to float over and land on her head. The drummer pulled the edge of the hat low, perhaps hiding a blush, as Trixie called out for her to join her on stage. It took the mare a couple minutes to make her way to the stairs at the side of the stage, and Trixie walked over to meet her.
Trixie smiled and held out her hand the younger mare, shaking hands with her. Trixie’s hat floated back to its place on Trixie’s head, and she could get a much closer look at her attractive new assistant. “Welcome to Trixie’s show. What is your name, sweetie?”
The younger mare seemed to have trouble looking at Trixie, and it took her a moment before she shyly replied “M-my name is Serene Rhythm.”
Trixie’s smile widened. This mare was so shy and attractive it was adorable. She’d be perfect for Trixie’s plans. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Serene Rhythm. That is quite a fitting name for such a skilled drummer.”
Trixie had to fight not to laugh at the shocked look on the mare’s face. She clearly had not expected Trixie to recognize her, or hadn’t thought Trixie would be watching their performance. She took Serene’s hand and guided her further onto the stage, motioning to a spot near the middle “stand here for a moment my dear.” Then Trixie turned to address the crowd, speaking much louder “Allow Trixie to introduce her new assistant, Serene Rhythm. She is the drummer from the talented new band that performed here earlier today, The Magix.” Beside her, Trixie noticed Serene blushing again, but she seemed pleased that a pony like Trixie would publically compliment her group. Trixie figured a little free endorsement might help the young unicorns getting their careers started.
The crowd applauded the introduction and Trixie turned to face Serene, making an exaggerated show of looking her over, then turned to the crowd and remarked “Hmm, she is lovely, but she doesn’t really look like a magicians assistant, dressed like this, does she?” Serene glanced at Trixie, looking nervous as the crowd called out “No!” Trixie smiled at the crowd “Before we continue our show, Trixie will need to do something about this.” Trixie made some pointless gestures with her hands as her horn lit up with magic. Her cloak flew from its stand and wrapped itself around the young mare, hiding her from sight as Trixie cast a tricky spell, and with a flash of light Serene’s clothes vanished, replaced by her assistant’s costume. The costume consisted of a pair of panties the color of Trixie’s coat with her cutie mark on the front, and a top the same color that was nothing more than a strip of cloth that just covered Serene’s breasts, and was tied in a bow on her back. As the cloak whipped away and flew back to its place, Serene glanced down and blushed noticeably when she saw her new “outfit” The audience clapped and cheered, and some whistled seeing so much of the young mare’s figure on display.
Serene started to move her arms to cover herself, but Trixie rested a hand on her arm and whispered “Trixie understands this may be a bit more revealing than you might have expected, but Trixie asks that you please relax and not ruin the show by drawing excess attention to it. The revealing outfit will draw attention to you, which is part of the assistant’s job. While they stare at you, Trixie can arrange the tricks.”
Serene nodded and clearly tried to relax. Trixie gave her a smile and turned to continue the show. She led Serene over to one of two boxes that had been brought out on stage by stage hands while Trixie had been showing off her new assistant. They were two identical boxes roughly 20 feet apart, with a black curtain running between them with a small gap at the bottom. Trixie quietly explained what was going to happen to her assistant before opening the box and ushering her in. Trixie almost laughed when Serene gave the audience a little wave before the door was closed.
Trixie turned to her audience and smiled as she announced “For our first trick, Trixie is going to move her new assistant from one box to the other.” She let her smile fade and continued “Now, Trixie should mention there is some risk with this trick. There is a small chance her new assistant might not reappear as intended. It would be a shame to lose such a lovely assistant so soon, so Trixie must ask that every pony be as quiet as possible to allow her to focus.”
The audience became silent as Trixie turned to the boxes. She could see through a small slit in the side of the first box that her assistant had moved into the hidden compartment in the back as Trixie had instructed, so they were ready to go. Trixie had added this slit when she had made a poor choice of assistant at one show and the brat had delighted in ruining as many of Trixie’s stunts as she could. Trixie’s revenge was to “accidentally” close the door of a box on the edge of the bow on the back of her top, so as the girl went to leave the stage, her final trick turned our to be showing how fast a topless mare can disappear from a stage.
Now for the part of the trick to amuse and confuse the crowd. Trixie used her magic to lift a hidden pair of fake hooves off the back of the first box, and in the silent stadium the crowd could see and hear the hooves slowly ‘sneaking’ from the first box to the second. Already Trixie could hear murmuring and snickering at the apparently feeble trick. Then to increase the illusion, when the hooves moved behind the second box, the box shook and rattled as the hidden door appeared to be stuck and wouldn’t open. Now the crowd was starting to openly laugh. Then there was an audible creak as the back of the box finally opened and a snap as it closed. Trixie turned back to the audience as if nothing had gone wrong, amused to notice that Serene’s band mate looked embarrassed on her friend’s behalf, obviously thinking about how she’d talked her friend into doing this, and now it seemed Serene was humiliating herself. But things were actually going exactly as Trixie wanted, as the crowd would soon see.
First, Trixie opened the first box, revealing that, amazingly, her assistant was nowhere in sight. Of course no one was surprised, thinking they’d seen her walk to the other box, though Trixie was pleased when a few ponies in the crowd politely applauded. Then Trixie closed the first box and opened the second one. And now the crowd was muttering in confusion as the second box was clearly as empty as the first. Trixie glanced over to confirm that her assistant was back out of the hidden compartment, and then she walked over to the box and turned to address the audience. “One thing you must always remember when watching a magic show…” she opened the box to reveal her assistant standing and smiling right where she had started. She even gave that cute little wave again “you can’t always trust what you see…or hear.” The crowd broke into applause.
Trixie and her assistant performed a number of tricks, and Trixie was pleased with how well Serene performed as an assistant. She followed instructions well, and didn’t do anything that might disrupt the show. Eventually the show was over and Trixie and her assistant took a bow as the crowd gave a standing ovation. Trixie turned and smiled at her assistant, holding out a hand to shake Serene’s, but Serene was clearly over excited and surprised Trixie by giving her a hug, which after a brief pause Trixie returned and told the younger mare “thank you for being such a wonderful assistant. You did a fantastic job.”
Serene blushed as she pulled away from the hug and looked at Trixie shyly “I’ve been a fan of your shows for a long time. I was really excited to be picked to be your assistant.”
Trixie smiled and glanced down at Serene’s assistant costume. “Trixie is sorry to say she can’t cast the spell she used to change your clothes again. If you will come to dressing room nine in about 10 minutes, she will return your clothes to you.” Serene looked down and blushed as if just now remembering the revealing outfit she was wearing. Trixie held out a hand and her cloak flew across the stage to them, and Trixie wrapped it around her assistant “you can wear this to cover yourself until you can come and get your clothes back.” Trixie walked to the side of the stage with Serene and watched her walk down the stairs there to where her friend was waiting. Trixie stepped off the stage, but stopped and turned to watch the stage hands remove her props, making sure everything was handled carefully.
A soft murmur was coming from the crowd as many ponies stood and stretched and others went out to find something to eat between shows. Trixie had not intended to eavesdrop, but from where she was standing she could hear Serene and her friend talking, their voices raised to hear each other over the crowd.
"Serene! That was so cool!" Trixie winced. Without using magic to alter it, Serene's friend had a high pitched voice Trixie found most irritating. No wonder she focused her magic on changing it. "You were so awesome. And Trixie including the name of our group when she introduced you, did you ask her to do that?”
"N- no. She must have recognized me from our performance earlier." Serene's voice, even raised above the diminishing murmur of the crowd, still sounded soft and far more pleasant to Trixie than her friend's.
"Oh that's even cooler. Someone as famous as Trixie recognized you and liked our show enough to mention the group by name? That has to be the best advertisement we could get! Someone in this crowd must work for or know someone in the music industry. They will have seen our show and heard Trixie. Maybe this will be the break we need to get the group noticed."
"M-maybe. That would be amazing, Melody." Trixie had to smile. These young mare's reminded Trixie of herself when she was young and trying so hard to get a performing career off the ground. Trixie had mingled with other performers over the years and had met a number of ponies that worked with such groups. Maybe, if she still has their names written somewhere, she could put in a good word for these ponies.
"Oh hey, the crowd had thinned out a bit" Serene's friend remarked. "Maybe now we can get you out of here without some pony trying to feel you up. I swear this outfit Trixie put you in could not be any more revealing. Couldn't she have switched you back to your own stuff?"
Trixie could clearly picture her assistant's blush as she answered her friend. "Sh-she said she couldn't cast it again yet. I'm supposed to go to her dressing room in a few minutes to get them. In the meantime at least she loaned me her cloak to cover up. And I bet it's difficult, moving my clothes from where I was to another place while at the exact same moment putting other clothes on me so I didn't end up topless like that other assistant we read about."
Serene's friend giggled. "Yeah. Let's save a mistake like that for our own show. Then we'll get the publicity."
"MELODY!" Trixie had to cover her mouth to avoid laughing out loud at how outraged Serene sounded.
"Oh relax, I'm kidding. Anyway, let's get out of here. We can grab a bite and maybe some cider before you go meet Trixie backstage. Oh, that reminds me. The guys and I plan to take off and wander the town. Maybe we can find a club or something, do some dancing or whatever. You wanna come? We’ll wait for you."
"No thanks. You three go have fun. I want to stay and see some of the other performers. But I wouldn't mind some cider. Can you pay for it? My money went with my clothes."
Now their voices were fading as they left, but Trixie heard Melody say "sure. Maybe the mare at the Apple stand will give us a discount when she sees how you are dressed under that cloak." And before they were too far away to hear she heard Serene yell out “MELODY!” again.
Trixie chuckled at that last part and went to her room to await her assistant. Trixie had plans for...an encore performance with the younger mare.
Trixie entered her private dressing room and looked around with a small sigh. It was nowhere near as nice as what she was used to when she performed at higher class auditoriums. One wall was crowded with a few of her trunks, each marked with her Cutie Mark. Another wall had a large mirror with a table and folding metal chair in front of it for preparing for shows. A pile of clothes rested on that chair and Trixie walked over to poke curiously through them. She moved aside the shirt and jeans to find a pink lacy bra and matching panties. The thought of her assistant wearing these items struck Trixie as very cute, and when she put the clothes back in a pile she made sure to leave the underwear on top.
Next to the mirror was the door to the small, but thankfully private, bathroom. At least Trixie didn't have to stand in line to use a public stall, so she could forgive the cramped space provided.
The last part of the room had an old, but not entirely uncomfortable, couch for performers to rest on. Trixie had hoped it might be the kind that folds out into a bed, but no such luck.
Trixie removed her white gloves, amused as a few stray playing cards fell out of the left one, and a red handkerchief drifted out of the right. "Nothing up Trixie's sleeves, for she has no sleeves," Trixie proclaimed to the empty room as if still on stage. Then in a normal voice she adds "But no pony ever seems to question the gloves." She tossed her hat, the gloves, and the things that fell out of them into an open trunk. The rest of her outfit would have to stay on a while longer, as she would have company soon. But she did go into the bathroom and use a cool wet towel to wipe off the sweat from the parts of her that her outfit exposed. No one that had not been on stage could understand just how hot it could get under those spotlights.
Just as she came back out of the bathroom, Trixie heard the soft knock at her door. She walked over and opened it to see Serene, Trixie's cloak wrapped tight around her figure.
Trixie smiled and motioned her forward "Serene Rhythm, Trixie's lovely assistant. Come in please. And Trixie will take her cloak back if you are finished with it."
Serene blushed a little but relinquished the cloak as Trixie closed the door. She tossed the cloak on a hook on the door and quietly locked it, then turned to watch Serene as she glanced around nervously. "H-hello again, Miss Trixie. I c-came to get my clothes back. And I guess to give you back your assistant outfit." She saw her clothes and blushed even more seeing her pink underwear on top. She moved toward them, but paused as she noticed the trunks. "Those all have your Cutie Mark on them. You have a private room? We were told all the performers had to share."
While Serene was distracted, Trixie took her hand and gently guided her toward the couch while explaining "One advantage of performing for a long time and being famous is you learn ways to get what you want." She sat on the couch and gently pulled the younger mare down beside her. "In addition to the performance fee, Trixie paid extra to the charity and gave the coordinator a large tip to arrange a private room. Trixie is used to having a private place to go when she is performing. A private place to leave her belongings and prepare before the show, and a place she can go to unwind after the show."
Serene, who seemed to have again forgotten she was barely dressed, sat beside Trixie and looked puzzled. "Unwind?"
Trixie nodded "Those who have never set hoof on stage don't understand, but you must have realized that performing in front of a crowd on stage takes a toll on one's body. There is the physical effort of the performance, the heat from the lights, the stress of wanting everything to go just right, the worries of possible mistakes." Trixie paused and smiled "on top of that there is the rush that comes from hearing the crowd cheer when everything goes right. The relief as all those stresses and worries fade away, replaced by the thrill of success, the excitement of the moment. Trixie is sure you know what she means. She could see it in your eyes when you hugged her after our show."
At that, Serene blushed and looked away, but nodded. Trixie smiled, "Well, many performers find their own ways to unwind after performances. The most foolish ones resort to chemicals, alcohol or drugs. Those usually end up doing something they will regret, if they do not kill themselves first. Some go to a spa and relax in steam baths or massages. Trixie does this sometimes, usually at the end of a tour around Equestria with several shows back to back." Trixie smiles the younger uniform "But Trixie has another way to unwind that she enjoys much more, when she can find the right assistant for it."
Serene looked confused. "Y-you mean me? There is a way I can help you unwind? H-how?"
Trixie smiled but did not answer with words. Instead her horn began to glow. Across the room, the door glowed with a faint blue light as Trixie applied a soundproofing spell that would keep anyone in the hall from hearing anything in the room. As Serene looked curiously at the door, Trixie shifted her magic to the young mare's top. The bow at her back untied itself and the long strip of cloth moved away from her breasts. The cloth quickly wrapped around Serene's hands and arms, gently but firmly pulling them behind her back and binding them securely. All this took only seconds and by the time Serene noticed something was wrong her arms were pulled tight behind her back, the cloth covering them from her fingers to up past the elbows.
At this point Serene let out the most adorable squeak of surprise and tried to struggle, but it was too late. Her arms were trapped in place. The mare looked at Trixie, confusion and fear in her eyes "W-what are you doing, Miss Trixie?"
Trixie smiled calmly and took a moment to admire the younger mares exposed breasts before replying. "Trixie is preparing her lovely assistant for her last performance as Trixie's assistant. You are going to help Trixie with her plans to unwind." Trixie reached a hand over and lightly teased one of her assistant's nipples. "And when Trixie is completely finished with you, then you shall be allowed to collect you belongings and leave."
Serene pulled away from Trixie's touch, blushing and squirming trying to free her arms and speaking in incomplete sentences, "You can’t... I've never... I'm not...you wouldn't..." it was at this point it occurred to the young unicorn to try her magic. Her horn glowed pink and she tried to free her arms, her magic moving over the cloth trying to find out how to untie it.
Trixie moved toward her assistant. Straddling her legs and putting her hands on the back of the couch to either side of her head, Trixie looked into her eyes as their horns touched and Trixie sent a bit at if magic into Serene's horn, shorting out her spell and making her yelp at the shock of it. Then Trixie wrapped her assistant's horn in a spell that would block her from using any magic for several hours.
Trixie leaned back a bit and smiled "Allow Trixie to try to finish those sentences and answer them for you. 'You can't do this?' Clearly Trixie can because she is doing it. The next was likely 'I've never been with another mare?' Which Trixie actually likes to hear. 'I'm not a lesbian?' That's ok, Trixie assures you she will enjoy this anyway. And last, 'You wouldn't really force this?'." Trixie smiled and leaned forward, pausing with her lips less than an inch from the younger mare's, and whispered "Trixie would. And Trixie will." Then she pressed her lips to her assistant's, forcing a deep kiss, her tongue sliding into the young mare's mouth.
Serene must have really believed Trixie wouldn’t do it, because it was several seconds before she tried to resist her. Her tongue slid against Trixie's, trying to expel it while she tried to pull away, her head pressing back into the couch. Trixie simply stayed where she was, continuing the kiss. She made a game of Serene's efforts to push out her tongue as it moved around, Serene's efforts to use her own tongue to push out Trixie's doing nothing but sliding them together.
Finally after a couple minutes Trixie pulled away, smiling as her assistant took a few deep breaths. Poor filly needed to learn how to breathe while being kissed. When she caught her breath, Serene looked pleadingly at Trixie.
"Please let me go Miss Trixie. There must be others that would jump at the chance to do this."
Trixie shook her head "It's true, there are many, mares and stallions, that would eagerly come to Trixie's bed." Trixie looked around the room and down at the couch. "When Trixie has a bed. Trixie understands for some it would be a dream come true, a fulfilment of their deepest desire to sleep with a famous mare like Trixie. But that is not what Trixie wants.
