//-------------------------------------------------------// lightning bound -by lost worlds- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Crashing the castle //-------------------------------------------------------// Crashing the castle (Prologue) -215 years before Nightmare moon- 3rd person P.O.V The cold night air gently blew through the land, filling it with a comfortable calm, a calm that was only stressed by the eerie silence. No creature dared make even the slightest of sounds, almost as if afraid that any disturbance would bring untold wrath upon them, making it seem as though the world itself was silently waiting in abated breath for whatever may come. And there in a castle that overlooked the land was a small princess, her shoulder length flowing blue hair seemed to sparkle with stars as though it held the night sky itself and covered her pale shoulders, while her midnight blue dress covered the rest of her in an elegant fashion very befitting of a princess. She stood by a window, overlooking the land as far as her position would allow her, while silent tears streamed down her face as she cried to herself in that hallway. "We miss thou mother and Father," she whispered, looking up at the moon in hopes of changing the topic of her thoughts to no avail. As she stood there her tears turned to silent sobs, so she sat down to hug her knees and cried her heart out in sadness that only a child can get after the loss of their parents. She sat there for several minutes before the silence was shattered by a loud BOOM, similar to that of a cannon firing but on a much grander scale, and very soon after the walls of the hallway 20 yards away were shattered by a burning object. 1st person P.O.V 'Man that stings' I thought as I  stood back up, patting the flames still burning on my leather trench coat. I looked around to see I had landed in the hallway of some sort of castle, surrounded by rubble I thought I was alone until I heard a quiet sniffle nearby and looked to see a small girl resembling the personage of a princess. She seemed to be looking at me in both fear and defiance, as though she thought I would harm her, but didn't want to show her fear. "Greetings little one, I am the Lighting Spirit, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance ," I said in as friendly a nature as possible to calm her down. My attempt to calm her down seemed to work, so I walked over to her in the hopes of getting her to talk to me, though she still seemed a bit hesitant to be anywhere near me. "Greetings, we are Princess Luna, might we inquire as to why thee smashed through our castle walls?" she said extremely formally, almost not sounding like a child, if not for her younger voice. Before I could respond there was a second BOOM before I was smashed against the walls and then through it. As soon as I stopped I heard a loud scream, easily identifiable as that of Luna's, so I rushed out only to see her being held in the air by her throat, pulling at the hand that was cutting of her oxygen supply. The one holding her stood 6 feet tall and wore a set of red armor that complemented his blood red hair nicely, though his armor was covered in intricate designs that seemed to make it come alive like a roaring fire. "Well, well, well Lighting, you didn't think you could end our fight that quickly did you, now for that foolish attempt I'll need to sate my blood lust, and this girl seems perfect for the job," He said, looking between myself and Luna, his iris's seeming to dance around the pupil like flames. Before I could react he squeezed his hand, to one of our race the squeeze would have done little, but to the mortal child it collapsed her esophagus. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" He laughed in mad happiness at the shock and horror on my face, for even after all my years I have never been able to forgive such evil. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed in pure rage as I threw myself at my enemy, in his laughter he couldn't react fast enough to block or dodge, allowing me to slam my fist into his face, sending him flying back with a sonic boom and causing a thunder clap to sound, causing all the windows in the castle to shatter. In my anger I could vaguely hear crying and the sounds of metallic boots clanking on the ground. As soon as my opponent was outside I launched myself after him, hitting him mid-air and sending us both into a nearby mountain, destroying a third of it from our impact. Before the dust could settle we were back on our feet and fighting again, moving faster than the eye could see. We blocked, dodged, and traded blows that let out deafening shock waves, causing the ground around us to be torn asunder. After several minutes of battle the mountain that was once there was no more, leaving only myself and my foe in the crater that took its place. "I see you still have some fight in you, OLD KING,"He said, his last words laced with venom. "You know there was a reason I was king, because no one could match my strength or mind, and you still cant," I spoke back, keeping my anger in check for the moment. "Then how did you lose in the battle for your throne, oh so powerful one?" He asked, his voice laced with sarcasm. "I threw the fight, I saw you all as children, I took you all in, taught you to wield your power, and couldn't bring myself to harm one of you," I explained, thinking back on when I had found the others, they may have all been grown adults in normal sense, but to one as old as myself they were still children. "Seems you were to soft then," he said, making no attempts to hide his disgust at my caring. "Perhaps I was, but I won't be the same with you," I said, my anger finally starting to boil back over, and as it did lighting crashed down from the sky, each one turning the dirt to glass, and the rocks to lava. With that our fight commenced yet again, and we fought for the next three hours, moving further away from the townspeople, but turning a large area of land into nothing but desolate desert wastelands. At the apex of our fight we were using our legendary weapons, also known to my people as some of only a few things that can kill one of us. These weapons were crafted by the spirit of poison and harbinger of death himself, my brother. His weapon was a large halberd with a sickle like blade on the bottom, while my weapon was a large double sided scythe that disconnected at the middle to become two smaller scythes. our blades clashed with strike after strike, sending sparks in every direction with such frequency that the grass and trees around us caught fire and burned to ashes. After a long fought battle I had finally scored a hit and plunged my blade into his right shoulder, causing him to scream in agony. "YIELD!" I yelled as he clutched at the blade in a vain attempt to remove it from his shoulder. "NEVER!" He screamed back in defiance. "Then DIE!" I shouted as I removed my blade from his shoulder and prepared to sever his head from his body, but before I could he caught me by surprise and hit me away with a stream of fire. Before I could finish him looked over to see him already gone, most likely having left the universe all together. "DAAAAMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTT!!!" I roared in rage, lightning peppering the land around me, reacting to my emotions. 'I CAN'T BELIEVE HE GOT AWAY!' I shouted in my head, punching the ground and leaving a small crater, 'IF I EVER SEE THE BASTARD AGAIN I'LL RIP OF HIS LIMBS AND HANG HIM BY HIS ENTRAILS!' I continued to get angrier and angrier, the land taking more damage with every increasingly tense breath I took. But it all came to a stop when I remembered the little girl who had recently died due to my failure. Moving as fast as I could I got back to the castle in a matter of seconds, and what I found waiting for me broke my heart. On the ground was a little girl that seemed to be slightly older than Luna, her hair was similar to hers but instead of looking like the night sky her hair was a mix of pastel green, purple, and blue. Her dress was a bright white with and was just as elegant as the other girls. The girl was crying her little eyes out while clutching Luna to her chest as tightly as she could manage, and around her and Luna's body were several guards who were the first to notice me. "HALT! Stay where thou are and drop thine weapon," One the guards ordered. Finally remembering I still had my scythe out I dropped it and let it fade back into the tattoo form I used to carry it with more ease. I looked at each of the guards before looking back to the girl, only to find her looking at me with tears streaming down her face. "Who art thou?" The girl asked. "I am the Lighting Spirit, and I'm sorry," I answered. "*Sniff* Why art thou sorry?" she asked. "Had I been just a little faster then maybe she wouldn't be dead," I explained, getting a look of shock from all of the guards as well as the girl. "Where is the one who dared to murder a Princess?" One of the guards asked in anger, his hand already on the hilt of his sword in preparation to hunt down and kill Luna's murderer. "He's gone," I said, not receiving a positive response. "WHAT DOTH THOU MEAN HE IS GONE!" Another guard yelled, taking a towards me. "We fought and just before I could deal a killing blow he caught me by surprise and fled the universe, you'd never be able to find him, ever," I said, my eyes no longer leaving Luna's, which still held the fear of death in them. "How powerful art thou?" The girl asked. "Very," I responded, not turning to look at her. "Can thou bring her back?" She asked, causing me to look at her in surprise and see the hope in her teary eyes, "can thou bring back our sister?" "Yes," I said, but before she could respond I continued, "but the only way I could do so would be to bind our souls, which to my people is how we get married, as it shows the ultimate commitment to one another," I finished, looking around to see the shock evident on everyone's faces. "but she wouldn't need to know,"  I said, breaking the newfound silence. "What doth thee mean?" She asked. "I can do the soul binding and we wouldn't need to tell her of it, we could say I found another way to save her and leave out the part where it is marriage in my peoples eyes, I'll save her, but I'll leave the choice up to you." "Why us?" "Because you are her sister, and you know what she would want better than I would," I explained, stepping closer to her and getting on my knees to be closer to her eye level. "I accept, just bring her back, please, she is our only family left," She said. I nodded, preparing myself to do the ceremony that I had never thought I would do at all, especially to save a little girls life. I summoned a small plain dagger and cut the palm of Luna's left hand, holding it up and drinking a portion of her blood before using the dagger to slit my right wrist and letting the blood flow into Luna's mouth as I held it open. After around 15 second it seemed that the girl was about to say something before we heard a coughing sound coming from Luna, looking down we saw her throat was no longer crushed and she weakly opened her eyes to look at us. "Tia, what art thou doing up so late?" Luna asked, only receiving a bone crushing hug from her sister which she quickly returned as the two let out silent tears together. "I'll be going now," I said as I stood up to leave. "No wait, stay, thou saved our sister and for that we art eternally grateful," The girl called 'Tia' said. I stopped in my tracks and looked at her, seeing a hopeful smile on her face that reminded me of the Water Spirit when I had taken her in. "*sigh* I guess I could stay for awhile," I said, causing her smile to widen. Her smile seemed infectious as soon myself, Luna, and all of the guards were smiling at her. 'I wonder, is this a world were I can settle down, or will they come after me again?' I asked myself, remembering all the other world that were torn apart in my battles, 'No, not this time, this time I'll make them pay if they try to destroy this world,' I said to myself in determination.
