" So I looked the teacher right in the eye and told her to shut it! Or if she'd like I could do it for her." Gilda Griffon rolled her dark honey colored eyes in a sarcastic manner.

Her silken snow shaded hair, wild and free flowing to her shoulders wickedly. She wore a dark brown leather jacket, a small white baby tee hugging her slender frame and curves, showing full midriff. Tight silver pants hugged to her hips perfectly, leading down long elegant legs to a pair of knee length brown boots that held to her feet. Indeed the carefree way she carried herself. The way she took nothing from nobody. She was the epitome of what was cool.

But can I ever be such a person?

Free and bold.

To fly above much like her namesake.

To touch the sky.

To close my eyes and bask within the sun.

" This is not a inner monologue here Fluttershy, Im asking!!" I quickly snapped my gaze away from the cool girls exiting the library and to my shy friend at my side.

Her pale pink hair framing her face almost completely.

"Ummm."

"You are right Shy! My luck I'd burn my feathers to a crisp against the suns mighty blaze."

 "Oh. "

"Icarus you say? Phst he was doomed from the start, he didn't know how far he should fly or how high." My violet colored hues widened in shock a new idea flooding my mind suddenly.

"Hmmm."

"But if he had a guide! He could've stayed afloat long enough to enjoy the fruits of the world around him!!" I smiled as I quickly gave the shy young woman at my side a firm hug.

" You are a genius Fluttershy! But who do I know, has the knowledge of the inner circle I could learn from?" I bit my lower lip softly, my long dark violet hair tied into a messy ponytail behind me.

My large black glasses gently slid lower down the bridge of my nose, thoughts racing through the many people I knew.

The large list of many various...

I mean the mild sized group...

Perhaps above average...

Fair sized...

Small group of friends I've gained.

 "Uh."

"Sunset of course!!! You are just full of ideas today!- I'll find a way to gain the knowledge of the cool girls by..." I slowly trailed off as my eyes narrowed to Fluttershy at my side.

She gazed to me in silence. Her eyes filled with such fear and what I think might be confusion, no not confusion but knowledge.

"BU-I-eeee?" I softly began to flaunt my hand in front of her waiting. Hoping to prevent a awkward silence from building between us.

 "Wel..."

"Of course by borrowing her novel of deep thoughts!! To do so I should easily gain the know-how to fit in like a shadow!" I jumped up from my seat with a small squee.

I knew just the way to gain her novella as well. Without wasting a moment I quickly swayed my hips side to side, walking to the exit with a smile.

Soon I'd be in the spotlight.

How could this ever go wrong?

I knew Fluttershy was right behind me on this choice. Even as she sighed aloud and shook her head side to side while I walked out of the large room.

"07-25-74. Oh Sunset! I warned you about using such transparent numbers for your locker code." I smirked swinging open the metal locker before me with ease.

"Hmmm. "How The Cookie Crumbles." , " Roses A Changeling Hobby.", " 2001 Recipes For The Perfect Mocha: Now With Vanilla." and "Sunset's Diary." Yes!!" I squealed aloud happily.

With a small yoink I swiped the Diary from its spot within the cramped locker. A smile crossing my lips as I swiftly placed it into my backpack, hanging from my shoulder firmly.

"Why is my locker open?" Sunset's voice pierced into my soul like butter knives, slowly I winced as I turned to face her.

"Uhhhhhh. I wanted to borrow..." I could feel my cheeks burning a bright red color as those crystal like eyes burned into my own.

I quickly let my gaze scan her locker.

Books with odd names.- Ehhhh.

Old Gum sticking to the side.- Ewww.

Cosmo Mags.- Hmmm too cool.

Math Book.- Grrr too nerdy.

Quick I must choose or be forever busted!!!

"Your...Gum?" I winced a bit as I slowly pinched the still moist piece of chewing gum out of her locker, quickly popping it into my mouth with a smile.

"Mmmm. It's like a party in my mouth and "Urmph!" Everyone's invited." I slowly chewed upon the gum, water filling my eyes slowly.

"Ok whatever. We are all going to the mall after school, you in Twilight?" Sunset asked in a calm collected manner.

"Mmmm I'd "Aaack" Love to but I soo got to study for a test tonight." I spoke through gritted teeth as she simply nodded.

"Ok awesome. Maybe next time." Sunset smiled, softly clicking her locker shut before walking away down the hall.

"Yes next time." I spoke aloud in an uneasy tone of voice watching her fade into the distance, feeling a wet lump of gum suddenly slide down my throat.

I could only stand there in horror.

Feeling a cold shiver run down my spine.

My face turning from a pale violet color to a sickly green hue.

I had to remember to look up, if the myth of gum sticking with you for years was true.

That and pray.

But at least the book was mine.

 "Uuuurp." Mine...
