Pinkie Pie drearily wandered into her home. A recent party had taken its toll and her, and she was almost completely drained of her energy. But she sauntered on.
Opening the door to her bedroom, she was met with the same thing she saw every day. Things out of place, an unmade bed… Nothing was ever how it should be. Does it even matter anymore?-Pinkie thought, sprawled on her bed. She rolled over in an attempt to shut out the world around her, but she was always met with the noises she grew so accustomed to. Playful fillies, enjoying themselves outside her window, energetic pegasi, soaring through the air. They were all happy.
Something Pinkie hadn’t been in a while.
Her life had become an endless routine. Sure, she was known for her randomness, but this did nothing to bring her mind from how she truly felt. The truth is, the mundane was slowly killing her. Squeezing the life out of her, taking every breath away. Until she was nothing.
Pinkie looked to the rope that lay on her nightstand, and grabbed a piece of paper and pen, thoughts flying through her mind as to what she would write. Pen in mouth, she made contact with the paper.
If you are reading this, you should know what happened.
Tears began to stream down her cheeks. How would her friends take this?
Truthfully, I never thought it would come to this. After meeting you all, things started getting better. But nothing could lift me from the abyss I had fallen into. But for all the wonderful things you guys have done for me, I’d like to say this one final thing to you all.
Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity…
I love you.
I’d hate to see you guys hurt by me… You deserve better. I’m just a hollow shell of a pony, wasting her time partying in an attempt to escape her problems. But I guess I still owe you guys an explanation.
My life… is an endless cycle. Depression has just consumed me, leaving me helpless in a sea of despair. The pranks, parties, they’re just a masquerade to hide myself from the real world. Ever since I was a child, life was dull. My parents, the grueling work on the farm, nothing new or exciting ever came from it. But Rainbow Dash. I’m so thankful for what you did. If it wasn’t for that Rainboom, I would have never met you all.
And yet I hate you for that. Seeing such a thing of beauty just made everything else worse. That day, I threw my first party. I was already digging the hole that I now lay buried in, the hole that is now bringing its grief unto all of you guys.
As the years went on, life was getting worse and worse. I met you, and it seemed that my life was now parabolic. Rising in quality…
But of course, there always must be the end to the parabola.
Which leaves us here.
