It's been six months since Octavia's father cut off her tuition fees for the Royal Canterlot School of Music and her landlord's been banging on her door all this week.

But her luck is in: while performing at a bar one night she encounters Vinyl Scratch, her old roommate from first year at the RCSM and now an inexplicably wealthy dropout, who seems to do nothing but attend parties by day and clubs by night.

Unbeknownst to her, Vinyl has been working, and she needs a partner for a particular job that is guaranteed to pay out in spades.
