//-------------------------------------------------------// Gurren Lagann-Worldpiercers -by Mkchief34- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue-Miracle //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue-Miracle Equestria Ponyville Midnight Princess Twilight Sparkle normally didn't stay up as late as midnight on most evenings. This evening, however, was special. The Faust Mark, named for Equestria's Bearer of Life, was appearing, and whenever it did, a miracle would happen somewhere in Equestria. Or so it was said. Twilight adjusted her telescope slightly, and there it was. Glowing red and white, brighter than any other star, the Faust Mark shimmered in the blackened horizon. "And...done." Twilight said, writing the coordinates of the star for future reference. "And now, to chart its path along the Celestial Axis…" Then, Twilight stopped. She turned her telescope towards two brighter lights that appeared beside Faust's Mark. From what Twilight could tell, these stars were close. After writing a note of the other stars' coordinates, Twilight decided to retire for the night, knowing some miraculous news would be heard tomorrow. Or so she thought… ==== White. That was all there was. And a human figure, wearing a worn red cloak and travelling gear. His blue hair was flecked with gray, and he lay prostrate. Then, a white light covered his form, and he became smaller and younger. The form of Simone, Hero of the Spiral, groaned and stood up. "Where am I?" he wondered. As he came to his senses, a familiar figure appeared in his vision. His eyes, upon recognizing it, filled with tears. "...Nia?" he asked. Nia Teppelin gasped and threw herself into his waiting arms. "Simone?" she asked quietly. "Are we dead?" Simone didn't know how to reply. But someone else did. "Not exactly." said a calm, kind voice. "You're in the void." They looked to see a strange creature come forward. It was a quadruped, with red hair, wings, and a horn. It stepped forward, and smiled. "I mean you no harm. I am Faust, Alicorn and Bearer of Life. And I know who you are, Simone and Nia, heroes of the Spiral." The two humans flinched. "Bearer of Life?" Simone asked. "Yes." the Alicorn replied. "And I come to you with an offer. You may die here, together, and move on...or, live once more in the world that I call my own." "What do you mean?" Simone asked. "I can give you back your lives." she said. "However, the friends and allies you once knew will never see you again. You will be in a new world, you will not look the same, and must start over from the beginning." "But, I don't think sending you to my world without the proper preparations would be very...sporting. So I shall give you three things to help you." Faust smiled. "First…" Faust said. A Spiral Key appeared in front of Simone. "Your Gurren Lagann." she said. "Second…" Next, an exact copy of Kamina's blade also manifested. "Third…" Two simple, silver rings appeared. "For when the time is right." Faust said. Simone took the katana and Spiral Key, and brought Nia close to him. "When you are ready, enter." Faust said, summoning a portal to what seemed to be a moonlit village. "If that is your decision." Nia looked at Simone, who nodded. "We accept." they said simultaneously. "My blessings upon you." Faust said. "Equis welcomes you to your new life." The two humans walked into the portal, side by side, and all went black. ==== Simone opened his eyes, and he immediately flinched and gasped. He was no longer human, but a being similar to Faust, but with the wings and without the horn. His coat was a pale tan, with blue and red hair. Nia, or what he assumed was Nia in her new body, was unconscious, lying in his arms. She had a horn and wings just like Faust, with a pale white coat. Her hair color was just as he remembered, a mix of blue, pale yellow, and silver. Simone gently pulled her up and onto his back, his sword and Spiral Key rustling with his movement. Simone grunted from the effort, and as he looked up, he saw what he assumed was a hospital, and it was brightly lit. He slowly strode towards it, making sure not to drop Nia, even though he was groaning from the effort. ==== Nurse Redheart wasn't a fan of the Night Shift at Ponyville General. It could be said that nothing exciting happened or any patients showed up this late at night. That changed when a visibly strained pegasus carrying an alicorn struggled into the door and collapsed without a word. Redheart was ready to dismiss it as a hallucination, until she heard a groan. "Mind..giving me a hand here?" said the pegasus. "I can't keep this up…" Redheart hastily grabbed a stretcher and used her magic to lift the alicorn onto it. "Thanks." the strange pegasus said. "Didn't think it'd be that tough to carry her. Eh, sorry to barge in like that." "It's alright." Redheart said, unsure. "May I get your names?" "Simone." he said. "That's Nia." "Well, Mr. Simone…" Redheart said, as they carried Nia's stretcher to a vacant room. "Your arrival certainly was...shocking." "Yeah, yeah…" Simone replied. "Can I stay with her?" "I don't see why not." Redheart replied. "I'll need to keep you under observation, however. We're not exactly an inn, you see. We're a hospital." "I figured. You were the only place whose lights were on." Simone groaned as they entered, and Nia was levitated onto the bed. "It's quite alright." Redheart said. "Might I ask why you're in the company of an alicorn, Mr. Simone?" "Is that a problem?" Simone asked. "We're not exactly from here." "Oh, you're travelers?" Redheart asked, raising an eyebrow. "Foreigners?" "More or less." "I see. I'll have to inform Princess Twilight of your arrival in the morning, then. I would advise getting some sleep. I'll be at the front desk if you need anything." "Thanks." Simone said. Redheart slowly closed the door and composed herself. She walked back to the front desk, and resumed her paperwork. From then on out, Nurse Redheart's opinion of the night shift got slightly better. ==== The next morning, Simone opened his eyes, slowly getting up from the chairs he was using as a makeshift bed. He sat down next to Nia, and poked her cheek. Her eyes fluttered open, and she smiled. "Morning." she said quietly. "Morning, Nia." he replied. "Where are we?" she asked, slowly getting up. "A hospital, in some place called Ponyville." Simone said. "The nurse who let us in said she'd inform some "Princess Twilight" that we were here. Not really sure why, though." "I see." Nia replied, placing her head in his chest. "I don't think it matters, though. As long as I'm with you, it'll be okay." "Right." Simone replied, softly kissing her forehead. Then, Simone heard footsteps in the hallway. "...They're in here, right?" said a feminine, intelligent voice. "The alicorn and pegasus from last night?" "Yes, your highness." said Nurse Redheart as she opened the door, revealing another alicorn. This one had lavender fur, with a purple and pink mane. As she entered, a small lizard-like being walked in after it, biting into what was probably a very expensive ruby. The alicorn looked at the two of them, and raised her eyebrows. "Were we interrupting anything?" she asked. "Not really." Nia said. "Hi." "Hi. I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle. You're Simone and Nia?" she asked. "That's us." Simone said. "So...what's the big deal about Nia being an alicorn? Is that special?" "It means she's royalty." Twilight said, the lizard nodding. Nia gave off a quiet "Oh", and looked at Simone, who wrapped his arms around her chest. "So…" Twilight said. "Where do we begin? "I'm not sure." Simone said. "Where are we?" "Ponyville, in Equestria, in the realm of Equis." Twilight said. "So, where are you from?" Simone and Nia sighed together. "It's...complicated." Simone said. "Do you know a "Faust"?" Twilight's eyes widened, causing Spike and the two ponies to look at her curiously. "She's the Alicorn of Life." she said. "What does she have to do with this?" "She brought us here." Nia said. "From another world where both of us had died." Twilight eyebrows shot upwards. "Spike?" she finally said. "Yeah?" he replied. "Get Celestia." she said. "I have a feeling she'll want to know about this." "I'm on it." Spike left quickly, and Twilight sat down, breathing heavily. "Are you alright?" Simone asked. "Well, it's just you're the first extraterrestrial ponies in Equestria, one of which is royal." Twilight said. "This is history in the making, and you're asking if I'm alright? Does that seem even fathomable to you two?" To her surprise, Simone and Nia started chuckling, then flat-out laughing. "Honestly, yes." Simone said. "You'd be surprised at what the two of us have been through." "Like what?" Twilight asked. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Simone said. "You'd call me insane, a liar, whatever have you. It's completely unbelievable." "We'll see." Twilight said. "Let's discuss this is more...proper setting, like my Castle, shall we?" Before the two of them could react, they had teleported to Twilight's study, in her new Castle. Twilight landed gracefully, using her wings. Simone and Nia landed flat on the floor. "Hey!" Simone said. "What was that...for…what'd you just do?" He swerved around, taking in the new surroundings. "I teleported us to my study." Twilight said, helping them up. "Think of it as jumping from point A to B in a really quick period of time." "That's neat." Nia said. "How'd you do that?" "Magic." Twilight said. Before they could speak further, there was a bright flash, and a second alicorn appeared. This one was tall, with an alabaster coat and a shimmering mane. "Ah, are these the ponies Spike told me about, Twilight?" she asked. "Yep." Spike said, coming out and collapsing from nausea. "I hate it when that happens." Simone and Nia laughed, and the second alicorn smiled at them. "You're Simone and Nia?" she asked. "Yeah." Simone replied. "I am Princess Celestia, Ruler of Equestria, Alicorn of the Sun." she said. "Twilight and Spike informed me of your arrival here. I must say, it wasn't what I was expecting." "Wasn't what we expected, either." Simone replied. Celestia chuckled before speaking. "So,I want to know who you are, how you met Faust, how you came to my lands, and what you plan to do. And take as much time as you need. I have a feeling we'll need it." "You're right." Simone said. "Thing is…" "We're not actually ponies." Celestia raised her eyebrows. "We're human." Simone said. "At least, we used to be." Celestia's jaw dropped. "Then why are you here?" she asked. Simone and Nia looked at each other, before sighing. "We'll tell you." Simone said. "Brace yourself, this may take a while…We'll start from the beginning...In Jiha Village, where I grew up…" Author's Note Update! And the rewrite has begun! So, do you like this one or the original better? //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1-Stories //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1-Stories "...then, I died, a forgotten wanderer." Simone finished. "You think that after all I've been through, I'd probably die in some heroic way, not collapsing under a tree and everything going white." Nia, Celestia, Spike, and Twilight chuckled "So, any questions?" Simone asked. Celestia sighed and looked at Simone with a smile. "Simone, quite frankly, I have too many to ask." the Solar Princess said. "It was quite a story you had." "Thanks." Simone replied. "So...that brings me to my next question. What do we do now? It's not like we can go home. We're dead." "True." Celestia said, sipping her teacup. "Twilight, you still have that guest room available?" "Yes." Twilight replied. Then she recognized what Celestia wanted. "Are you sure that they can stay here?" Twilight asked. "I mean, wouldn't it be better in Canterlot?" "I believe that Canterlot might be a bit...problematic. Especially with the fact that Nia is an alicorn." Celestia said. "It's alright." Nia said. "We'll stay here." "Then it's decided." Celestia said kindly. "You may stay here, for the time being. And before I forget, welcome to Equestria." Simone and Nia nodded. Celestia bid them goodbye, before she teleported away. Twilight sighed and smiled. "So...want to see your room?" she asked. The others nodded, and Twilight led them to a medium-sized room, already furnished. "Well, feel free to make yourselves at home." Twilight said. "I'm making lunch, so if you're hungry, it'll be about ten minutes." "Thanks." Simone said. Twilight smiled, and left. Nia laid her head on Simone's chest, and they embraced. "I think I'm going to like it here." she breathed. "Same." Simone said kindly. "We'll take it one day at a time." "Good." They stayed that way until Spike fetched them for lunch. ==== "That was good." Nia said. "Thanks." Twilight said. "I'm not much of a cook, but I know a few recipes and how to make them without burning the food." "Amen to that." Simone said, clearing his plate. "So, what's on the agenda?" "Not much." Twilight said. "There is one minor thing. You'll probably need to go upstairs, though." "Why?" Simone asked. "Let's just say the pony Twi's meeting is rather...disliked." Spike groaned. "To put it lightly." "We'll be upstairs then." Simone said, just as there was a knock on the door. "Princess Twilight?" said a haughty voice. "Are you in?" "Spike, get the door." Twilight said. "Go, now!" Simone and Nia barely had time to get out of sight as Prince Blueblood entered and sat down. "Ah, Princess." he said. "I presume you had advance notice?" "I did." she said. "And I do have guests, so please keep your voice down." Simone and Nia slowly entered their room, and sighed. "That was close." Simone said. "Quite." Nia replied. They listened in on Twilight's conversation with Blueblood, and near the end, Nia and Simone started to walk back downstairs. "I believe that is everything." he said. "And who might your guests be, might I know?" "None of your business." Twilight said. "Now, please leave." Before Blueblood could say anything, he was teleported away. Twilight sighed and slumped in her chair. "Are you alright?" Nia asked. "Fine." Twilight said, muffled by the table. "Let's just get some fresh air. I need some, badly." As the four of them left, they entered the Town plaza. Suddenly, Prince Blueblood's voice rose. "I presume they are your guests, Princess?" Simone and Nia turned to see Blueblood walk up. "Yes." Twilight groaned. Blueblood then attempted to kiss Nia's hoof, causing Simone to swat his muzzle away. "How dare you!" Blueblood cried, rubbing his cheek. "I don't like ponies trying to hit on my fiance'." Simone said. "Is that a problem?" "Fiance'?" Blueblood said. "I highly doubt that…" Simone and Nia then pulled out the silver rings given to them by Faust. "...Oh." Blueblood said. "My apologies...Princess." He scoffed and walked back towards the train station. Twilight sighed with relief and frustration as his departing form. "I'll let Celestia know to have a few words with him." Twilight said. "Let's go. I bet my friends will want to meet you." "Sure." Nia said. "Let's go, Simone." "Right." They headed towards Fluttershy's cottage, their rings glistening in the sunlight. Author's Note Update! Sorry that it's short. Longer ones are coming. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2-Summons //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2-Summons As Twilight, Spike, Nia, and Simone walked over towards Ponyville Park, Spike kept looking at Simone and Nia, who were currently, apart from having Nia's head nestled in Simone's neck, were taking in the sights of their new home. "What's wrong, Spike?" Twilight asked. Spike motioned to the couple, and Twilight nodded with a slight eye roll. "Spike, it's alright. They're in love, they get to act like that." she chastised. "Besides, I don't mind." By the time they had reached the park, Twilight's friends were waiting for them, kept busy by their usual antics. That is… Until Pinkie Pie saw them approaching, and gave the two of them a very excited smile. ==== "My head…" Simone groaned as he stood up with Nia's help. "What happened?" "Miss Pinkie decided to welcome you, as she said." Nia said. "You fell and hit your head." "Oh…" Simon sighed, looking at Pinkie, who was speaking with Twilight. "Is she okay?" "Twilight says she overreacted, which is apparently common, but she didn't mean for you to "pass out"." Nia smiled. "It's fine." Simone said as they approached. "Pinkie?" Pinkie looked at them while scratching the back of her head. "Sorry…" she said. "I tend to get over-excited when somepony new shows up." "It's fine." Simone said as everypony else sat down. "So, any...pony else I should know?" As the introductions went around, Spike sat down next to Twilight with a sigh as he admired Rarity speak with Nia. That is, until he felt a letter come to him. He produced a scroll from his flame, and looked at it once before poking Twilight in the side. "What's…" Twilight said. Then, she saw the scroll. "Oh, Tartarus." she cursed. The others looked at her with surprise. "Language, Twi." Applejack said. "What's wrong?" "Apparently Celestia needs us in Canterlot." she said. "Blueblood decided to inform nearly every noble in the blasted city that Nia was here. And now they're tearing Celestia apart for more information." "That's….not good." Simon said, pulling Nia close. "For what reason?" "I don't know." Twilight sighed. "And Celestia says Blueblood has the entire city up in arms. We should probably get going." "You can say that again." Spike said. "And I think Celestia had that in mind." A Solar Chariot descended, and with it came Celestia. "Twilight, you got my letter?" she asked. "Good, let's go." Simone and Nia were whisked aboard with everypony else, and they soared towards Canterlot. ==== "Why now?" Nia asked with a slightly sad tone. "I'm afraid Blueblood notified nearly everypony in the Equestrian Parliament of your presence, Nia." Celestia said. "And I bet the jewelry stores are seeing record sales as of now." Everyone except Simone and Nia groaned. "What?" Simone said. Then, it clicked. "Bastards." he swore. "Are they honestly…" "Yes." Celestia sighed. "They're already discussing candidates for marriage. Though I made it clear she was already engaged. They didn't care." Simon fingered his Spiral Drill, which was in his jacket pocket, and he made sure his Katana was with him. Nia moved closer to him, and he wrapped his arms around her. "Nia, I won't let any of them touch you in the slightest. I swear." he growled. Nia merely nodded, still scared of what was in store. "We're here." Celestia sighed. To nearly everypony's disgust, a large crowd of nobles and other ponies were standing at the castle gates, waiting for them. As soon as the Chariot landed, they surged forward… Only for Celestia to fire a searing bolt of flame at the ground, scorching a line into the earth. "If anypony, no matter their status, crosses this line, it will be the last step they ever take." she said. "That is final." The crowd moved back, Blueblood and several other nobles coming forward, each bearing a velvet box. Nia tried to hold Simone back, as he was shaking from rage. "Ah, Princess Nia?" Blueblood said. "Do make your choice." Nia didn't respond, as she was too frightened to speak. "No one?" Blueblood asked again. "Then it'll be me." He reached for her hungrily, Nia recoiling in fright… ==== "YOU BASTARD! GET AWAY FROM HER!" Simon, without his knowledge, cloaked his fist in Spiral energy, glowing with brilliant green and red flame. He then slammed it straight into Blueblood's jaw with all the strength he could muster. The blow alone would've been painful enough… Except the Punch was so powerful, not only did it send a massive energy shockwave out that cracked the stone beneath Simon… It also sent Blueblood flying straight through the castle wall, sending stone and masonry everywhere possible. The crowd then recoiled and surged back, nearly everypony falling down from the shock of Simon's action. As Solar Guards pulled Blueblood to his hooves, Simon nodded to Twilight, who held Nia back as he walked forward. Blueblood looked like he had been trampled by a freight train going as fast as Rainbow Dash could even fly. His jaw was certainly broken, and a massive burn lay on his cheek. He tried to stumble away, only for Simon to grab him by the collar. "You bastard." he swore. "I told you once, and I will tell you again. Stay the hell away from my Fiance'!" Simon's voice grew with every word he spoke, frightening the Prince even more. "All of you!" he yelled with sheer fury. "Listen up! Nia is NOT getting married to any of you! That's because she's already engaged!" Simon held up his ring, and the nobles gasped, passed out, or both. The other ponies present whispered among themselves. "That bastard there is lucky I didn't kill him!" Simon roared. He was about to speak further when Celestia fired a beam of light into the sky. "Enough!" she yelled in the Royal Canterlot Voice. "Simon, that will suffice." Simon breathed in deeply and walked back towards Nia, and he gently embraced her. "I'm sorry." he murmured. "I lost my temper…" "It's okay." Nia replied, stroking his back. "You protected me. You kept your promise." They turned to watch Celestia walk forward to address the crowd. "You all disappoint me." she said. "I made it exceptionally clear that Nia was engaged to Simon. All of you chose ignored me and tried to steal her away, a completely despicable act. Frankly, though Simon's use of force was not necessary…" Simon looked away in guilt, tightening his embrace with Nia. "....It was, however, thoroughly justified." she finished. "I would like a good reason why I should not expel you all from my presence, right here and now." The nobles, who had jostled for Nia's hoof, were silent in their shame and guilt. "As I suspected." Celestia finished. "I am thoroughly disappointed in all of you. If any of you wish to debate this further, they can take it up with me. Return to your business." Celestia sighed before continuing. "Twilight?" "Yes?" she replied. "Take Simon and Nia inside to my office." she said. "Let's get them away from the crowd, who is unworthy of their presence." "Right." Twilight said. As the Elements and Spike brought Nia and Simone through the crowd to the door, a few Solar Guards approached and led them away to safety. As soon as the doors shut and they were all out of sight, Celestia turned to Blueblood, who was being healed by Solar Guard medics. "We will have words regarding your actions...in private. I would advise praying for mercy, because I will have none." Celestia growled as she left Blueblood, who promptly passed out. ==== Author's Note Update! Next time-Simon and Nia deal with the fallout, and Celestia takes a stand. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3-Recuperation //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3-Recuperation As Twilight and the Elements brought Simon and Nia to Celestia's study, Nia breathed a deep sigh of relief once they sat down. "I'm so sorry." Twilight groaned. "I wish we'd arrived under better circumstances." "It's fine." Simone said bitterly. "Can you promise me one thing, Twilight?" "What?" "Will that bastard get what's coming to him?" Simone growled. "Oh, he most certainly will." Celestia said, walking in. "I'm going to make sure he doesn't plan anything like this ever again. I would tell you what I'm going to do, but it might seem...extreme. Also, ignore the screams." Celestia walked out, leaving a very confused group of ponies behind. ==== Eventually, the Elements left to give Simone and Nia some privacy, As they relaxed, Nia rested her head on Simone's broad chest, and he embraced her gently. "I'm sorry." Simone said. "For what?" she replied. "I must've scared you." he said. "I'm so sorry." "It's okay." Nia replied, looking up. "Simone, you don't need to apologize for something that someone else did." Nia brought her head to Simone's and she kissed him gently. Simone wrapped his hooves around her, and deepened it. They were like that for a few moments, and both sighed in content. That was when their reverie of love was interrupted by an extremely loud, girlish, and very frightened scream. Make that screams. As Simone and Nia looked around for the cause, the Elements returned to the room. "You hear that?" Rainbow asked. "Sounded like…" "Blueblood." Rarity said. "I would know. I did date him at that one...unfortunate Gala." "Why would you date that bastard?" Simon asked. "Long story." Rarity sighed. "And just so know you, I did tell him off when he used me as a cake shield." "...cake shield?" Nia asked, astounded. "Don't ask." Twilight and her friends all chorused. At that, an alabaster blue alicorn walked in. "Princess Luna?" Twilight asked. "What's up?" "Well, the sun is up." Luna said. "Or...is that not what you mean?" "Let me rephrase that. What is going on?" Twilight said again. "Oh, my apologies! Celestia sent me to take you all home." Luna said. "She has to deal with her boorish and idiotic nephew. Did you hear the screams?" "Yes…" Simon said. "Good." Luna smiled. "Celestia wanted to make sure of that. Let's get going, shall we?" As they headed out, the screams continued and went on for several more minutes. ==== Celestia had never tortured anypony. At least, not for a while. Now, she thought, is a good time to make an exception. He was held inside a magical containment bubble, and he had no way of escape or interfering with his punishment. Celestia held in her hooves a single piece of paper, the cause of Blueblood's screams. That particular piece of paper was a writ, declaring Blueblood Celestia's honorary nephew along with his entitlements of according wealth and status. And it currently had a large, ever-growing tear in it. Each time it grew, Blueblood's screams grew louder, and Celestia's smile grew bigger. "PLEASE!" Blueblood screeched, his jaw throbbing with pain. "I'LL BEHAVE! I'M SORRY!" "Are you sure?" Celestia said, hiding her smile, and tearing the paper a bit more. "Oh my, looks like this is getting a bit torn…" "PLEASEEEEEEE!" Blueblood screeched again. "I'M EVER SO SORRY!" Pathetic, Celestia thought. And with a graceful flourish, she tore the paper in two and incinerated it for good measure. ==== The walls of Canterlot Castle shook with an echoing bellow so loud, the departing Simon and Nia, along with the Elements, could hear it. ==== Blueblood then passed out. Celestia rolled her eyes and left the cell, making sure to stomp on the ashes of the writ. ==== As the Chariot flew back towards Ponyville, Twilight sighed with relief. "I can't believe he'd try something like that." she murmured. "I second that." Rainbow said. "Geez, what a flankhole." "So rest assured, you two, you're in good company." Rarity said. Simon and Nia both chuckled, their worries long forgotten. ==== The Chariot grinded to a halt inside Ponyville Park, and as the ponies disembarked, one of the Solar Guards brought Simon aside. "What's up?" Simon asked. "I saw what you did." the Guard replied. "It was so awesome. Trust me, a lot of ponies in Canterlot wanted to give that jerk what he deserved. So, you're not alone, sir." "Guess I beat you to the punch." Simon joked. The Guard nodded with a small chuckle. "You ever need a favor, you can count on all of us in the Solar Guard." the Guard said. "Have a nice day." As the Chariot flew off, Nia gently walked up next to him. Simone smiled at her, and as they were about to kiss… "AHEM!" They spun to see the Elements giving smiles at them, with a devious tone. Twilight walked forward, and she rolled her eyes. "Come on, lovebirds. Let's get something to eat." she said. "And Simon?" "Yeah?" "You should know my sister-in-law's the Princess of Love." she said. "Never let her catch you doing that." Both of them gulped as they followed the Elements to Sugarcube Corner. Author's Note Yeah, I know it's short. I needed to get this out Next time-Schenanigans in Ponyville with Simon and Nia. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4-Quiet Moments //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4-Quiet Moments Simon and Nia, accompanied by the Elements, sat back down on the grassy knoll and relaxed. Twilight produced a picnic basket, and Rarity set out the blanket. "You feeling any better, Simon?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, a lot better." Simon said as Nia leaned on his shoulder. "As if I'd let anything or anyone keep us apart, Nia." "Of course." Nia replied, kissing his cheek. "And I'll do the same." "Aww…" Rarity said. "You're so perfect together." Simon and Nia nodded, and Twilight, while admiring the romantic scene, opened the basket and smiled. "Eat up." she said. A glint appeared in Simon's eyes, as if he was expecting this moment for a long time. ==== "Geez, Simon." Pinkie said. "You're eating like a maniac." "Sorry." he murmured. "I'm just really hungry. I can't remember the last time I ate." "Still, you should slow down. You might choke." Nia said, who was eating at a more refined pace. Simon nodded, slightly embarrassed, and slowed his pace. "Much better." Nia smiled approvingly. After about forty-five minutes of eating and small talk, the basket and blanket were packed up. "So, seeing as it's late…" Twilight said. "I'll see you all in the morning." "Alright." Simon said. "You awake, Nia?" "Barely…" she sighed, her eyes fluttering. Simon gently supported her with his shoulder, and they followed Twilight to her castle. ==== As Twilight settled the couple into a guest bedroom, she smiled, bade them goodnight, and left. That left the two of them alone, and they settled into the crystalline, four poster bed. Simon left his jacket in the closet, climbed into bed, and soon Nia was settled against his chest, humming a faint tune. It reminded Simon of a quiet, soothing voice wishing him to sleep. "What are you singing?" he asked sleepily. "Just a lullaby." she murmured. "Every night when I was young, I sung it to myself to help me sleep. Father wasn't exactly kind that way towards me." "I see." Simon said, yawning. "Nia...I love you." "I love you, too." she replied. She gave him one last look of care and comfort before she closed her eyes and her breathing deepened. Simon kissed her on the forehead, before he too fell into slumber. ==== The sun rose into the sky, and the birds began to sing, perched in the trees. And in Simon and Nia's room, they slowly woke up. Nia kissed Simon, and brushed the dust out of her eyes. "Morning." she whispered. "Morning, Nia." he replied. "You sleep well?" "Better than I ever have." Nia smiled. "Come on, let's get up. We can't spend the entire day in bed." "I agree." Simon said. They slowly got up, and Simon put on his jacket. Heading downstairs, they found Twilight and Spike making breakfast. "Morning!" Spike waved. "Good morning." Simon said. "What's for breakfast?" "I wasn't sure, so I made a variety of foods." Twilight said. "I figured since you were once human, you might have your own tastes." Simon and Nia nodded, seeing her logic. "Anyway, I've got my royal duties to take care of today, so Spike will show you around town." Twilight said. "And Rarity wants to see you both at some point. She said something about new clothing for you two." "Thanks." Simon said. As they dove into their plates of eggs and other breakfast foods, Simon smiled brightly, knowing that it was their first full day of their new life. ==== Once Twilight was settled into her paperwork, Spike began the tour of Ponyville. From what Nia and Simon could tell, the town itself was moderately sized and populated. The one problem was that everypony they passed bowed to them. "I'm never going to get used to this." Simon murmured. "You're not alone." Spike said. "Twilight hated all the bowing the first few months she was a Princess. She learned to tolerate it eventually." "Good news, then." Simon rolled his eyes. "Nia, how are you holding up?" "It's so strange." she said. "It seems so quiet around here. Is it normally like this, Spike?" "Not exactly." Spike shrugged. "I mean, there's always some monster or evil villain out to take over the world, and they always start here. I mean, it's completely stupid, but that's how it is." "Quite odd." Nia said. "Eh, not entirely." Spike said again. "Normally Twilight and everypony else handles it. I'm usually on the sidelines." "You seem pretty heroic yourself, Spike." Simon said. "Despite what you say." "Thanks." Spike said. "Anyway, there's a place I need to show you, one that just opened up." "What's that?" Nia asked. ==== "What is this place?" Simon said, eyeing the sign of the building in front of them. It seemed like a bookshop, only instead of tomes, the materials inside seemed to be much thinner. ""Ponyville House of Comics." Spike said. "My home away from home." As they entered, a bearded stallion called out from the counter. "Spike, my favorite customer! How have you been, man?" he said. "I've just gotten my hands on Power Ponies Number 46 for ya!" "I'm doing great, Mug!!" Spike said. "Feel free to look around, you two." "Hey, the new royals!" the stallion said. "Browse around, see what you like! And if you do like it, keep it! On the house for a limited time!!" "Thanks." Simon said. As it turned out, the House of Comics was quite expansive. A large alcove stuffed with sack chairs and couches lay in the back, perfect for relaxing. Eventually, Simon and Nia settled down, each with a stack of comics. "These are nice." Nia said, turning the page of one. "The art style is unique, though." "Yeah, comics take some getting used to." Spike said, coming in. "Trust me, there was this one time that we all got sucked into one. Like, we became the characters." "That's certainly odd." Nia said. "Eh, it all worked out fine." Spike said. "I made a mental note never to visit that particular store again. Anyway, see anything you like?" "This one's not that bad." Simon said, holding up a comic portraying a pony in white armor and shaped like a howling wolf. "Ah, Whiteout Wolf!" Spike said. "He's one of the newer heroes. Haven't read much of him, but I've heard good things. Like what you see so far?" "Yep." Nia said. "It's so nice here." "It is." Spike shrugged. "On some days here, its busy as can be, but on days like this, it's quieter than the old library." "What happened?" Simon asked. "Eh, it got destroyed by Lord Tirek." Spike said. "Long story. Basic version is that he tried to drain all the magic from Equestria. Twilight and everypony else defeated him, though." "He sounds horrible." Nia said. "Yeah, he was the definition of evil villain." Spike sighed. "Let's get off the subject, though. It's not something I like to talk about." As the three of them continued to read, in the distance, a train was approaching from the Crystal Empire. Author's Note Update! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5-New and Old Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5-New and Old Friends As the Crystal Empire Train headed towards Ponyville, Shining Armor and Cadance looked over the letter they had been sent by Celestia. Neither of them had been present for the incident in Canterlot, but they had quickly learned of Simon punching Blueblood through the Castle wall. Suffice to say, Shining Armor was impressed with a pony like that. Personally, the Prince of the Crystal Empire had wanted to give Blueblood a piece of his mind multiple times, but he had never gotten the chance. "Shining?" Cadance asked out of the blue. "Yes?" "Are you okay?" she asked. "Jealous, even?" "Why would I be jealous?" Shining asked, confused. "Maybe because this Simon…" she giggled. "...beat you to the punch!" Shining let his face drop as Cadance started laughing loudly at her little joke. "You got me." he sighed, nudging her in the arm. "Anyway, apparently Simon's engaged to the alicorn he's with. Nia, I think her name was." "Ooh!" Cadance said. "True love! What a joy to hear!" "Alright, alright…" Shining groaned as the train came to a stop. "Let's not overwhelm them. They've already had to deal with a lot." "Oh, I know." Cadance smirked. "That's why I came prepared." Shining didn't know what to say as they disembarked the train and headed for Twilight's castle. ==== By the time Spike, Simon and Nia had finished up at the House of Comics, it was already midday. "Wow." Simon said. "We spent a lot of time there." "We did." Nia smiled. "But you made it better, Simon." Simon blushed softly as Spike led them back to Twilight's Castle. To the surprise of all three of them, Shining Armor and Cadance were already there. "Hey, Spike!" Shining said. "How's my little bro?" "Shining!" Spike said, giving him a hoof-bump. "Cadance, you're looking fine today." "Oh, thank you, Spike." Cadance replied. "We heard about Simon and Nia, and we came down to visit." "Oh, speaking of…" Twilight said. "Simon, Nia, this is Shining Armor, my brother, and Cadance, my sister-in-law. They're the Rulers of the Crystal Empire." "Nice to meet you." Simon said. "I'm Simon. That's Nia." "Hi." Nia said softly. As the six of them sat down, Cadance smiled at Nia leaning on Simon's shoulder. "Now isn't that sweet." She smiled. "True love. Such a great thing to witness!" Both Simon and Nia blushed. "Oh, it's fine." Cadance continued. "I'm the Princess of Love, it's in the job description." "I see." Simon said. "What's the plan?" "Well…" Twilight said. "Cadance, Nia, I think a Spa visit is in order." "What's that?" Nia asked. "You'll see." Cadance replied. "Don't worry about a thing. I've been meaning to get a Spa treatment in lately. I just haven't had time." "Then let's go!" Twilight said. "Nia, don't worry about Simon. He'll be fine." Simon then kissed Nia gently, as to reassure her. "Hey, I'm not going anywhere." Simon said. "If you need anything, come find me, okay?" "Okay." Nia kissed Simon on the cheek before she, Cadance, and Twilight headed outside for Ponyville Spa. In the meantime, Simon, Spike, and Shining sat down. "So, Simon?" Shining asked. "Yeah?" "Did you really punch Prince Blueblood through a castle wall, with just one blow?" the Prince of the Crystal Empire asked. "Yeah, and he had it coming!" Simon said irritably. "Hey, I agree, so no need to be mad." Shining said. "Cadance told me once that she had to deal with courtship attempts from him. That changed when we started dating." "Does he chase every woman he sees?" Simon asked flatly. "Yep." Shining said. "Trust me, that's why everyone tends to get married quickly in Canterlot. Nopony wants to be with him." "With good reason." Spike said. "So, Shining, shall we pick up where we left off?" "Oh, certainly." Shining said. "My skills may be rusty, but I still know how to kick serious flank!" "Well, let's see it then!" Spike said, producing a rather-complicated looking game-board lined with a grid. "Ready, Simon?" "For what?" "Ogres and Oubliettes!" Spike said with pride. "The best role-playing tabletop game since Iron Mysticus!" "And Riviablo!" Shining added. "Anyone else joining us?" "I'll go get our usuals!" Spike said, running out. "What's this?" Simon asked. Shining handed him a sheet of paper, a pencil, and a folder lined with numbers, photos, and the like. "Make your character, and we'll talk rules." Shining said. Simon raised his eyebrows, but set to work. ==== "So, this good?" Simon asked. "Yep, not a bad setup." Shining said, proceeding to explain the rules to Simon. "Alright, you got it?" "I think." Simon said. "Who else is joining us?" "Two of our usuals." Shining smirked. "Big Mac, Applejack's brother, and…" "ME!" Simon and Shining saw the ceiling sprout eyes, then the strangest creature Simon had ever seen slid out with a cackle. It looked like several animals stitched their body parts together, and given the result life. "What in hell's name are you?" Simon asked. "Discord, Spirit of Chaos and Mage extraordinaire!" he said, shaking Simon's hood. "Big Mac and Spike should be joining us about now." "Hey, we're back!" Spike and a rather large stallion came in and sat down. He was big, very big, with a red coat and a harness of some kind. "You're Big Mac?" Simon asked. "Eeyup." "Don't talk much?" he asked again. "Eeyup." "Well, whatever works." Simon said. "Where do we start?" "Here, in the Valley of Dreaming Souls!" Spike said. "Simon, roll for initiative!" ==== Nia had to admit, this "Spa visit" was relaxing her like nothing else. All the aches and worries she had were flowing away like the mist in the steam room, and she was enjoying every moment. "Nia?" Cadance asked. "How'd you meet Simon?" "Long story." Twilight said. "I've got a transcript of it, but it'll take way too long to retell." "I see." Cadance said. "So, you're engaged?" "Well, technically." Nia said. "We were being married when I...was taken to the other side. It truly is a long story, and some parts I don't like to remember." "It's okay." Cadance smiled, reassuring Nia with a hoof on the shoulder. "Love is a great thing, and I'm happy to wait for it." Nia nodded gratefully. "So, after this we'll rest up, then we'll head on home." Twilight said. "Sound good, Nia?" "Yes, sounds great." Nia smiled. "I will admit, this is so nice." "It is." Cadance said as the three of them relaxed. "I wonder what the guys are up to." ==== "A demon Wraith attacks from the left!" Shining cried. "Spike, roll for damage!" "I use my Shield of Xanzor to boost damage by extra roll!" Big Mac added. "And here we go!" Spike said as the dice spun. "We've got a perfect 38!" Discord laughed. "Simon, it's up to you!" "I use my Sword of Pure Devilry to land the final blow!" Simon said, moving his figurine on the board. "And with that, the demon Wraith is defeated!" Spike said. "XP is shared at 500 each. Now divvy up the loot." As the gang scribbled down on their respective character charts, Simon smiled. So far, this Ogres and Oubliettes game was proving to be very entertaining than expected. And Simon was enjoying every moment of it. As Spike set up for the next turn, the girls returned. "And we're back." Twilight said. "What'd we miss?" "Not much." Spike said as Nia sat next to Simon and leaned on his shoulder. "Just another good session." "I'm glad." Cadance said. "So, what's on the agenda for tomorrow?" "I'm not sure." Twilight said. "I will admit I didn't plan that far ahead." "We'll take it as it goes, then." Simon smiled. "Wow, it's already dark out." "True." Cadance said, eyeing the setting sun. "Let's pack it up for tonight, everypony." "Fine by me." Spike yawned. "You good for tomorrow, Big Mac?" "Eeyup." As Discord popped away back to Fluttershy's house, Big Mac left for the orchard. Simon and Nia headed back to their room, and quickly curled into the other's embrace. "Did you have fun?" Simon asked the sleepy Nia. "Yes." she replied. "Did you?" "Same." They were silent for a while, just looking at each other before they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in the other's arms. Author's Note Update! Yep, this too WAY TO LONG. Gonna update again soon.
