Electronic Squadron Mega Ponies

Our story starts in an alternate dimension. A spaceship is flying through the wreckage of a couple of  battleships owned by the United Equus government on the planet Equus. The bodies of spaced quadruped ponies float by the surviving ship. On board are a race of anthropomorphic creatures. These creatures come in a variety of species. These creatures call themselves Pokemorphs. Pokemorphs evolved from their Pokemon ancestors, due to radiation. Now they’re on the verge of destroying any quadrupedal races in the galaxy.

The interior of the Pokemorph ship is colored metal gray with bright lights shining throughout. Pipes leading to everywhere on board, and crew members going throughout their daily routines. On the bridge though are more crew members assessing the damage to their ship and the outcome of a recent battle. A male Litten Pokemorph reads from his data pad and turns to a male Purrloin Pokemorph sitting in the captain’s chair. This Purrloin is wearing a all white business suit with a white tie and a white bowler hat. Apparently the captain doesn’t know that you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day, or maybe he does. It could be summer on the Pokemorphs homeworld.

The Litten hands the Purrloin the data pad and speaks aloud.

“Assessment is complete Sir! Another victory over the ponies of United Equus.”

“Commander… I am disappointed with our battles as of late…” the Purrloin says with a hint of a English accent, “I thought we would be getting a real challenge as of late. Such as the NGJTF?”

“Alson is handling them himself, Sir.”

Damien Burry, the Purrloin Pokemorph, is jealous of his older brother’s role in this war against quadrupedal species. Damien wants to a real challenge!

“There IS some good news Sir.”

That piqued Damien’s interest…

“Go on…”

“Your secret project of finding a dimension to conquer has turned up a multitude of interesting worlds for our taking.”

Damien had launched several probes months ago in an attempt to conquer his own world. As Alson’s goal was to eradicate the ponies off the face of the universe. Not what his younger brother had in mind. Damien wants to conquer and force every single race he conquers into slavery. He has told his ideas to Alson one day, but the older Purrloin just laughed in his brother’s face. Which angered Damien so much that he decided right there to begin his secret project. So his brother wouldn’t get suspicious.

“And the results…?”

The Litten clears his throat before continuing, “Well all other worlds we had scanned shows great promise. Except for the world Azeroth. They’re currently being invaded by unknown number of demons calling themselves the Burning Legion. However, I picked the perfect world for us. It is exactly just like the Equus of this world. However…”

“What?”

“The ponies in this alternate world are a anthropomorphic bipedal species.”

“I’ll take it! I don’t care if they’re bipedal! Anything is better than killing quadrupedal ponies anyway!” Damien says with excitement in his voice, “Commander! Please take us there!”

“Yes Sir.”

The ship’s course is set and a beam of energy is shot out of the main cannons. The energy forms an artificial wormhole. This wormhole is black surrounded by the blue energy. Once done, the ship goes through the portal to it’s destination…

Ponyville, Equestria

It is a normal sunny day in Cloudsdale. The Ponyville weather team has cleared the sky as the weather called for sunny clear skies. The citizens were going about their day, doing their usual daily routines like shopping, work, or playing. Three teenage fillies entered the local arcade. One is a Earth Pony with lime yellow fur and a strawberry red mane. The second is a orange Pegasus with a purple mane. The third is a white unicorn with a purple and pink mane. The three friends, calling themselves the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Stand inside the arcade as they look at the latest video game there, Mega Ponies, a advanced video game using holograms. With the player being wrapped in a holographic suit of spandex armor.

“Have you ever played this game?” Scootaloo says to Apple Bloom.

“I wanted to play it, but I heard that anyone who plays it has to beat the arcade owner. If you lose against him, you are banned from this arcade for life. This is the only arcade in Ponyville…”

“Yeah it’s true!” Sweetie Belle says, “Button Mash got banned from this arcade over Mega Ponies. He hasn’t been okay in the months since.”

Just as she said that, another colt is chased out of the arcade crying. He too lost to the arcade owner. The owner, a yellow Earth Pony stallion with long jet black mane scoffs at the colt he just chased out, before turning to the CMC.

“You want to play me!?”

The three friends immediately vacated the premises. In their haste they almost ran into a fiery red young Unicorn stallion, that appears to be in high school. He enters the arcade as a white mare with jet black and pink highlights mare comforting the poor colt. The young mare is surrounded by who appear to be her friends. One is a black Pegasus stallion with a red, purple and blue mane. The second is a pale Pegasus stallion with a green and blue mane. The final one is a yellow Earth Pony mare with a red and orange mane. All four are known by the CMC as they all attend Ponyville High School.

“Blitz! Artemis! Buster! Blossom!” Apple shouts to the four ponies.

Thunder Blitz, Artemis Solaris, Sky Buster and Fire Blossom turn to greet the three young mares.

“What are you guys doing here!?” Artemis says.

“We went to play some games and well this happened…” Sweetie Bloom points to the crying colt.

“Don’t worry little one, my friend will end this stupidity once and for all.” Artemis says to the colt, who seems to stop crying once he’s assured justice will be served finally.

‘We should get in there and watch Firestone in action. He’s going to need our moral support.” Blitz says pointing inside.

Inside the four are automatically greeted with Firestone and the owner in a major fight at the Mega Ponies game. Fillies, colts, mares and stallions present are watching this epic match with great interest and bated breath. No pony has ever been able to keep up with the arcade game in Mega Ponies. Let alone outdo the owner.

Firestone is wearing the Mega Red uniform. Which is red with a white bar across the chest, and in the middle of that white bar are five squares. Each colored red, blue, black, yellow and pink. The suits are also adorned with white gloves and white boots. The helmet of Mega Red is a red helmet, with a tinted visor, and above the visor is a large black circle. Giving the suit a more extraterrestrial space theme to the suits. The owner was wearing the Mega Blue suit, which was the same as Mega Red, only blue in color.

The two are locked into combat with strange spandex wearing humanoids called Meteoroids. Firestone showing that he has mastered martial arts.  It is getting close to end as the time limit reaches the final ten seconds. The two are tied currently but in the last ten seconds, Firestone sees a chance to get a victory over the owner. He leaps over the owner’s head, using his shoulders as a springboard. Then does a drop kick onto the chest of a Meteoroid and destroys it instantly. Effectively winning the game. Once the time hits zero, both suits dematerialize from their wearers. Breathing heavily the owner drops to one knee to catch his breath. He then stares up at Firestone who stares down with a confident grin on his face.

“This is impossible…” the owner says in between heavy breaths, “I never lose.”

“Never say never. It was only a matter of time that you lost. Now remember our bargain?”

“Of course! Everypony who was banned is now unbanned.” the owner says, “I was going to unban them anyway when a worthy opponent finally defeats me in Mega Ponies. Now you have to come with me…”

“What!? Why!?” Firestone quickly got agitated. He does not know the reason why he is needed to go with the arcade owner.

“This is a very important matter for whoever beats me in Mega Ponies. I can’t tell you exactly what is going on out in the open.”

Firestone looks behind to notice his friends standing there. All four look very worried, most importantly Artemis.

“I can’t trust you Mr. Gamer. If I go with you my friends come along.” Firestone says.

“Okay! This actually saves you the trouble of getting your friends help for this.” Gamer says. He lead the five, much to their confusion to the back area for employees only. Leading them to a hidden elevator that took them down below the surface of Ponyville, and into a secret bunker.

The bunker itself looks fairly new and doesn’t appear to have been inhabited by very many ponies either. The five are lead to a double bulkhead doors, with the doors being several inches of steel thick. After using a keycard and a retina scan, the doors were opened and the five teenage ponies were ushered inside. Inside appears to be a war room. Ponies sit at computer terminals scanning, analyzing or bringing their superiors up to date. Firestone looks around the room. Taking in the sights of what he is experiencing right now. He soon notices a cerise Earth pony mare with a light pinkish mane.

“Miss Cheerilee!?” Firestone says, and the other four look to see that their homeroom teacher is indeed present in the room. Cheerilee turns and her eyes grow wide when she sees five of her students in a restricted area.

“Firestone, Artemis, Blossom, Blitz AND Buster!? What are you doing here!?”

“I see you know our head researcher.” Gamer says to Firestone, “Well I guess I don’t have to introduce you to her, but let’s all settle down and I’ll introduce you to the rest of our staff here at Rich Tech Industries.”

Gamer asks everyone to settle down and the superiors to take their seats at the conference table in the center of the War Room. They all waited for about a couple of minutes when Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle and Luna themselves enter the room. Everyone stood at attention, except the five teens of course, when the three Princesses enter.

“You all may be seated please.” Celestia says. Everyone standing takes their seats. Celestia then sees the five teens sitting at the table.

“Who of you beat Mega Ponies?”

All eyes fall on Firestone. Who looks very nervous.

“Congratulations go to you. What you did we never thought possible. You must realize that we are in a dire situation, and if you didn’t beat Professor Takahashi. We would have gone to drastic measures to ensure that Equus is kept safe.” Celestia says to Firestone.

“Your Highness… I was brought here without even knowing what is going on. My friends came with me because I had no idea what was going to happen to me. Could someone explain exactly why my friends and I were brought here?”

“I can see you have many questions about the current situation” Luna says, Let’s try to get them answered as quick as possible. I fear the more time we waste, the less time we have.”

. “Agreed!” Twilight adds in, “Let’s start from the beginning.”

“Alright…” Celestia flips a couple of switches from her position at the table. The lights dim and a holographic projection appears from the center of the table.

It all started several months ago with the reported “meteor”. It was actually a small probe from an advanced civilization beyond our planet. At least we thought at first.Until we discovered orders to scan several alternate realities, worlds that exist beyond our known universe. The probe that landed on our planet already gathered information on our civilization and its inhabitants. We also learned how to reverse engineer the technology for our own use. With that technology we created the Mega Ponies game to act as a training simulator whoever beat the game, and our own Professor Takahashi, going by the name Hardcore Gamer, would be accepted to become a Mega Pony, protecting our world from whatever threat that sent the probe. Now you are here with your friends. Making it a lot easier to fulfil the other four positions.

“Wait a minute! The entire game was all just to find somepony to protect the entire world from an alien race that may never come to invade!?” Firestone asks.

“I know it was a stupid idea but we didn’t know if the threat was real or not.” Twilight says, “If it was and we had no defense against this race. Then our entire planet would fall. It was a big risk we had to take. Fortunately some little colt or filly didn’t win. I would hate to explain to their parents about this whole situation.”

Celestia turns to the five. “Yes we are fortunate that you Firestone have won, and brought your friends with you. Because we would want mature teenagers with attitude to fight for all of Equus.”

“But what are we supposed to do!?” Buster asks, “Firestone was the only one who completed your screwed up training simulator. What about us!? We never played the game before!”

“I still wonder we are up against…” Firestone whispered to Blossom.

In the orbit of Equus. The ship finally comes through the wormhole. Damien looks down at the planet from the bridge. A wicked grin on his face.

“This is PERFECT!” Damien says, “General Digitor! Approach! I have your new orders!”

A black with green 3D wireframe Porygon Pokemorph enters the bridge. He wields a beam sword in his right hand, and his back covered in a cloak.

“What is your command Sir?” Digitor asks.

“I want you to go down to that planet with a full unit of troops. Give them the message that the Pulsar Militia is here to conquer their entire world!”

“Your will be done Supreme Commander Burry!” Digitor leaves to gather his forces for an invasion. As Damien’s wicked grin got even wider.

Back inside the bunker, the five were given a choice of either join the Equus Defense Forces, or leave quietly. The latter decision would ultimately leave Equus defenseless against the incoming invasion.

“I don’t think we should do this…” Artemis says. “This sounds dangerous, and I’m the Captain of the Archery team. So I have games to prepare for soon.”

“You’re also a well established fighter in the school’s Fight Club.” Firestone says to his friend, “I know you can handle your own like all of us can.”

“Yeah I am number one and currently undefeated in Fight Club.” Artemis says with a smile.

“What you guys?”

“Well it seems like something noble. However I’m a big wuss.” Buster says.

Just then alarms went off all over the bunker. The ponies at the computer terminals quickly did a check on the entire planet. Wondering where the disturbance was located.

“Your Highness! Attack on Ponyville itself!” a analyst says, bringing it up on the hologram projector. The scene was too unreal for the five teenagers to take in. They watched as their hometown their city was being attacked by Digitor and his army of Porygon Pokemorph footsoldiers.

“Wow…” Blossom says. She turns to her friends, and sees that Artemis’ knees weakening as she collapses in tears. Buster gulps loudly, as Blitz and Firestone look at the scene angrily.

“We have no time!” Celestia says, “A choice must be made now!”

Firestone looks towards his friends as they compose themselves and stare back at him confidently. Despite the fact that all five are scared, they are putting on their best brave faces. Firestone what their choice is, and he’s ready to make his choice.

“We accept!” Firestone says.

Celestia nods in understanding. “So be it. Just remember you all chose on your own free will, and weren’t forced to become guardians of the entire world. Now please follow me…”

Celestia led the five to another room. Inside were three lockers. Each with a colored stripe on them.

“Alright… Inside each of these lockers are the keys to your new powers and arsenal of weapons needed to protect Equus. Artemis you are given the powers of Mega Pink.”

Artemis steps forward and opens the pink striped locker. Inside was a wrist worn device. She grabs it and puts it on her left wrist.

“Fire Blossom you get the Mega Yellow powers.”

Blossom follows suit with her locker and device.

“Sky Buster you take the Mega Blue powers.”

Like with the mares Buster grabs his own device.

“Thunder Blitz shall have the Mega Black powers.”

Thunder Blitz opens his locker and grabs his device. Putting it on his left wrist like the others.

“Firestone, as the winner of Mega Ponies, you are the leader of the team. As such I bestow upon you the Mega Red powers.”

When firestone puts on his device a energy pulse flies out from the devices and scans the five new Mega Ponies.

“Your Activators are now DNA locked to you. It is a safety measure to ensure that the Mega Pony powers can’t fall into the wrong hands.” Celestia says, “With these new powers always evolving to become stronger. You will gain access to new abilities and weapons to fight this unknown enemy. Go and save Ponyville!”

“Let’s go do it Ponies!” Firestone exclaims, but before the Ponies can leave for the surface, Celestia interrupts them.

“Wait! In order to use the Activators. You will need to enter three, two and one into the keypad and press enter.”

The five glare at Celestia. Who would have thought transforming into superheroes was SO simple?

“Uh thanks Your Highness!” Firestone says as the five head toward the vehicle hanger.

In Ponyville the Porygon foot soldiers are causing massive destruction to the city. Ponies are running for their lives. Trying to find a safe place to hide until this threat blows over. If it ever does blow over. Colts and fillies are separated from their parents in the chaos. Wailing out loud as they sit on the ground. Crying out to be saved. One soldier turns to the colt from earlier, his cries for help falling upon deaf ears. The Porygon decides to end the colt’s misery for good as it raises it’s blaster to fire upon the child. A laser beam is expelled out of the barrel and everything seems to go in slow motion. The colt stares at the oncoming bolt. Fear in his eyes as he believes this is the end for him…

...Until Artemis grabs him and rolls away in time for the beam to hit the side of a destroyed building. The other Mega Ponies arrive and start fighting the foot soldiers without transforming. Firestone arrives a few seconds later, driving EDF issued Humvee at top speed. Foot soldiers get out of the way of the speeding vehicle, with the exception of Digitor. Who firestones aims for with his moving weapon. Digitor doesn’t realize what is about to happen to him until he turns around to see the Humvee speeding towards him. By then it is too late, as the Humvee collides with the Pokemorph. Digitor literally becomes a hood ornament as the Humvee continues speeding down the road.

“Stop this thing right now!” Digitor exclaims.

Firestone just shrugs, “Okay!”

Firestone slams onto the brakes. Bringing the Humvee to a complete halt. However Digitor went flying off of the hood and onto the concrete road. His foot soldiers regroup around him and help him up. As the Mega Ponies regroup themselves around Firestone.

“If you want to destroy this city and hurt the innocent lives living here! Then you have to go through us first!” Firestone declares.

“Oh that will be easy seeing as how you’re outnumbered!” Digitor says, “Porygons GET THEM!”

As the Porygons charge at the five ponies. They look at their Activators and then each other.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s transform!”

The five flip open their Activators to reveal nine ten digit numerical keypad with a communicator and enter button sandwiching the the zero key. They tap in the password before pressing enter. The electronic voices sounded off their commands.

3! 2! 1! BLAST OFF!

The five are launched into the air by an unknown source. They pass through a 3D wireframe web that surrounds them in a 3D wireframe. Then they pass through a color assigned portal of energy, which materializes their suits over them. Landing back onto the ground, the Mega Ponies are ready for battle.

“Let’s go!” Firestone declares, as the Ponies charge into the fray of oncoming Pokemorph soldiers.

Firestone and Artemis fight back with their martial arts training. Thunder Blitz tackles a Porygon, before drawing his standard issue blaster/blade weapon. While Buster and Blossom pull out their standard weapons to fight back. Once given a clearing in the troops firestone turns his sights on their leader, Digitor. When both collide, both have their blades drawn and both clash against each other.

“I don’t know who you are, but you’re making a HUGE mistake taking the Pulsar Militia on!”

“Really? Because I see it differently!” Firestone replies in retort.

The two clash their weapons again. Digitor having the advantage of a sword over a large knife. The two clash until Firestone gets a lucky shot in against Digitor. Sending the Pokemorph rolling along the street. Digitor gets back up slowly as the remaining Porygons regroup with their commanding officer. The Ponies stand side by side with each other, with their standard weapons drawn. In which they switch them to the blaster mode.

“Who are you five anyway!?” Digitor says. He doesn’t how ponies on a moderate technological world would be able to combat the advanced might of the Pulsar Militia.

“We’re the guardians of Equus! Mega Red!” Firestone exclaims.

“We’re here to make sure you fail! Mega Blue!” Buster says.

“We’re not going to stop until leave our planet and our reality alone! Mega Black!” Blitz says.

“You have no chance against us! Mega Yellow!” Blossom says.

“So you better leave right now or we WILL hurt you! Mega Pink!” Artemis says.

“We’re the Protectors of Equus! Electronic Squadron! MEGA PONIES!” All five say in unison as they strike a battle pose, before their suits give out a energy discharge that causes an explosion behind them.

“AARRGGHHH!” Digitor yells with beastial rage. As the five Ponies aim their blasters at him and his remaining troops.

“Ready Ponies?” Firestone asks.

“READY!”

“FIRE!” all five opened fire in unison. Creating a combined, rainbow colored laser beam. Which hurled towards the Pokemorphs at high speeds. The beam connecting with Digitor’s chest. Causing a large explosion that sends Digitor crashing to the ground and destroying the remaining Porygons. When Digitor gets back up slowly. He is visibly furious.

“I swear Mega Ponies! This not the last you’ve seen the Pulsar Militia! I swear I will be back with better reinforcements! So enjoy your victory while you still can!”

Digitor then teleports back to Damien’s ship.

Back in the bunker the five friends went from scared to actually happy that they accepted the role of Equus’ protectors. As they were complimenting each other on a job well done earlier. A pink unicorn mare with a purple mane with blue stripes enter with a baby purple with green spine dragon following her.

“Um can I have your attention please?” the mare says and the five stopped talking and turned their attention to her.

“Hi… I’m Starlight Glimmer, and I will be overseeing your progress from now on. As the Princesses have other duties to attend to… Like leading Equestria.”

“AHEM!” the dragon says.

“Oh right… This baby dragon down here is Princess Twilight Sparkle’s assistant Spike. He will be working with us from now on.”

“Thank you Miss Glimmer.” Firestone says out of respect.

“Oh please, just Starlight please. Well I have a report to fill out on your first mission. Keep up the good work, and I have this message from Princess Celestia.”

Starlight turns on the projector, and Celestia appears to be sitting in her office at Canterlot Palace. The message seems to be pre-recorded when the Ponies went out to fight Digitor.

“Mega Ponies, if you are watching this message then I know have successfully forced the enemy to retreat. You have won today my little ponies, but I don’t think the invaders will just give up and go home so easily. You have a long road ahead of you and we must learn everything we can about this enemy. So I trust that you all will see to it that Equus is safe. Also don’t worry about your classes. I’ve talked to Miss Cheerilee. She is going to talk to the rest of the staff at Ponyville High about the current situation. I would love to congratulate you all in person, but I have other things to do. I now ask that you obey Starlight Glimmer’s command as you would me. Good luck Mega Ponies.”

“Also you guys are on every news channel around Equus!” Spike says with glee, as he changes the projector to a news station. On the projection is a Earth Pony stallion news caster.

“In breaking news today… Ponyville was saved by five ponies that call themselves the Electronic Squadron Mega Ponies. To these five brave ponies out there somewhere. Thank from the bottom of our hearts for saving us from that unknown enemy today. We hope you will be there if they attack us again.”

“Well I guess we’re famous now!” Firestone exclaims.

“Don’t let it all go to your head Mega Ponies. We don’t need any egos getting you killed out there.”

“She’s right Firestone. Let’s not let it go to our heads. Equus is counting on us to protect it from the Pulsar.”

All five teens place their hands on top of each other. All five looking at each other to see who is ready.

“ELECTRONIC SQUADRON MEGA PONIES!” they say in unison as they jump and raise their arms into the air.

NEXT CHAPTER: Thunder Blitz may be on the Hoofball team for Ponyville High, but he is still a gamer at heart. This doesn’t bode well with his teammates who think he should give up video games for good if they want him to stop bullying him.
