//-------------------------------------------------------// The Legend of Eaves drop -by Eavesdrop- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 On the day of his birth, Eavesdrop disapointed his parents at first sight. His mother was a pegasus and his father a unicorn. Both had hoped he would be an alicorn, but were saddened when the moon shined on the light blue mane of the earth pony colt. His mother, though disappointed, was still ecstatic about her new baby. His father, however, wasn't pleased. Eavesdrop's father, Slycer, was a mad scientist who was recently fired from his job for experimentation on other ponies. Slycer was furious. He was trying to change a pony from one race to the other, but accidentally killed all seven of his experiments. On the evening of Eavesdrop's first birthday, Slycer went on a rampage and tried to fulfill his original purpose, only this time he used his wife. He strapped her down to the table and cut out her vocal cords so she couldn't scream. He removed her wings and analyzed them. After reviewing their cell structure and composition, he reattached them. Once they were back on, he grabbed one of the horns that he'd kept in a jar in the cabinet and tried to rearrange her nerves and attach the horn. As he finished up she started to violently shake. He'd feared this. Her pegasus blood was rejecting that of the horn's. Then and there, his wife, Blesswing, died. In anger he threw her off of the table and onto the floor. He cried out at his failure and then developed a theory. What if it wasn't a failure. What if he just hadn't been using the right things. Each of his previous expirments was either pegasus or unicorn. He just needed a pure source. And at his thought, Eavesdrop walked into the room. He had just woken up from his nap and Eavesdrop was still sleepy. His father smiled at him and strapped him down. He then proceeded to remove wings from one of the jars he kept under his desk. After setting the severed wings on the cabinet, as well as another horn, he needed to add to his son's strength. He struck a metal nail into each of Eavesdrop's temples and all four of his hooves. Once finished he removed skin from where the wings were to go and same for the horn. He rearranged Eavesdrop's muscles and nerves and attached the wings and horn. His son began to twitch so he hooked wires to the nails then to large amp and sent a bass wave through the colt. Eavesdrop then began to struggle and shake the whole house, knocking bleach off of a shelf and into his eyes. He began to glow brightlyand his hair shattered like glass, leaving only light blue spikes behind. As some of the spikes lost color, Eavesdrop screamed, sending out a bass wave so powerful that it destroyed everything and everypony within ten miles When the smoke cleared, all that was left was a small colt in the center of a large crater. Eavesdrop rose and tried to look around but could only see darkness. All the color had drained from his eyes as well as his vision, and a bass speaker and equalizer had appeared on his flank. The large crater became known as the void. and the pony at the center of it lives life scared of everypony thinking they are his father to this day. And that is the story of the pony known as... Eavesdrop //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Beginning It had been fourteen years since his "accident" and Eavesdrop still hadn't caught any signs of life. Because he was blind, he'd been sending out silent bass waves and interpereting his surroundings by feeling how they moved. He couldn't hear very well either. The wave that was sent through him had made him hear everything the same. The way only way he knew if he'd heard something before was the change of vibration for each sound. He just hoped that somepony found him before his father did. He walked slowly down a deserted road still looking for anything alive. He stopped in his tracks when he heard a voice. "HEY MOVE IT, WATCH OUT!!!" The voice seemed to be getting closer, and fast. Not knowing what to do, Eavesdrop froze in panic when something tackled him to the ground. With his waves, he saw that it was another pony that had run into him. "What are you, blind?" The pony screamed at him. Eavesdrop stood in silence, not knowing what to say. "Hellooo!" The pony looked angrily at him. "Yo! I'm talkin to you!" Eavesdrop still didn't respond. "ANSWER ME!!!" "Yes...", said Eavesdrop quietly as tears swelled up into his eyes. "Speak up!" "Yes I am!" Eavesdrop shouted, his tears now streaming down his face. He looked at the pony and for the first time the pony saw his eyes. "Oh..." The pony looked down. He felt horrible for what he'd done. As he looked back up, Eavesdrop burst into tears and ran away. "Wait", called the pony as he chased after him. The pony found Eavesdrop under an old oak tree. He walked over to the tree and sat beside him. For a few minutes they sat in silence. Then the pony spoke. "I'm so sorry...", he paused,"I had no idea that you were actually..." "Blind?" Eavesdrop let out a sigh. "Yeah. That", said the pony,"Im Da5h." Da5h held out his hoof, then remembered and put it down. "It's ok", said Eavesdrop, now holding out his hoof. "I'm Eavesdrop." "Did you just say, Eavesdrop? As in the same Eavesdrop that destroyed an entire city?" "Yeah..." Eavesdrop looked at the grass and moved both hooves to the ground. Da5h's words had brought on a flash of memory. The main one was of the pain that the bass wave caused as it traveled through him. Da5h saw that the subject upset him and stopped talking. Then an idea moved into his head. "Hey, why dont I take you to my place and we hang out. I could even show you around the city if you want." Da5h stood up and touched Eavesdrop's shoulder. "I also know a great place to eat." "Ok." Eavesdrop stood up as well and smiled at Da5h. It was the first time he could remember smiling in his life. "Take my hoof. I'll lead the way." Da5h held out his hoof and Eavesdrop took a hold of it. He then realized thatDa5h was a pegasus as they lifted off and soared together through the skies. When they arrived, Eavesdrop looked in amazement at the large buildings and numerous roads. "Welcome to Hylarjmark", said Da5h as he gestured his hoof to the great city. It seemed dark, as did everything in Equinox. Even the fields and orchards looked like they were on the verge of death. But what bothered Eavesdrop was the amount of people around him. His waves were going crazy. "There sure are a lot of people here." "Well, it is one of the biggest cities in Equinox. Wait, if you're blind then how did you know about the people. I'm confused." "Can we get out of here before I start explaining. I'm terrified of new people." Da5h nodded his head and starting walking and Eavesdrop followed close behind. It took ten minutes to get to Da5h's house and Eavesdrop had never been more scared in life since the "accident". When they got inside, Eavesdrop immediately ran under Da5h's bed. "Hey. It's ok. You can come out from under there", said Da5h as he let out a slight laugh. Eavesdrop slowly moved from under the bed and onto the bed on the other side of the room."Good. Now why don't you explain to me how you could see all of those people." "Um... Well u see... When I was a colt I was an earth pony. But on my first birthday my dad killed my mom and turned me into an alicorn. I started to lose life so, to keep me alive, he sent a bass wave through me. I freaked out and let out an even bigger bass wave and destroyed the city. Ever since then I've been able to send out waves whenever I want. So now I send out silent one and I can see by feeling how they move. And I hear every sound the same so I only know who I'm talking to by the different forces in each sound's vibration." "Woah that is so cool. I wish I could do that. That's amazing. Wait a minute. You said your dad made you an alicorn right? Well your wings work but how good is your magic?" Eavesdrop lowered his head and his horn began to glow. As it did the ground began to shake. Da5h looked out the window and, to his amazement, the entire city began to lift from the ground. "Ok, ok, I get it. Put the city down!!!" At Da5h's request, the city began to lower to the ground. "Thank you. And next time I ask you to demostrate, start with something, I don't know... SMALLER!" "Oh... sorry. I've never used it before." "What? How have you never used it before? I would use it AAAALLLLL the time!" "All the time?" "No, AAAALLLLL the time." "Ok?" Eavesdrop looked around at the house. "This sure is a nice place." "Why thank you. Haha I really don't stay a lot so it never gets messy. You're welcome to stay here if you want." "Oh thank you, but I don't wanna bother you" "Nonsense bro. I've actually been wanting company," said Da5h as he spread a blanket out over the top of the couch. "Oh ok. Thank you...um...bro." "See now you're getting it." Da5h laughed as Eavesdrop sprawled out on the couch. As Eavesdrop looked around the room, remembered that there was an extra bed. "Why is there an extra bed. Who is it for." " Well I don't live alone. You see I-" Da5h was interrupted by the sound of his door opening. "Daddy? Who is this?" The voice came from a unicorn philly in the doorway. "Hey Vi. Violet, this is Eavesdrop. Eavesdrop, this is my daughter, Violet Flash." "H-hi. I'm... Uh... Heeheeehuhee." As Eavesdrop squealed he backed into the wall of the room. "Hey what's wrong?" Da5h looked at Eavesdrop curiously. "Like I said earlier, I don't do very well around new people. They kinda frighten me." Eavesdrop turned away and backed farther into his corner, occasionally letting out small high pitched noises. "It's okay Eaves. She's just my daughter. If u trust me then you can trust her." Said Da5h as he walked over to Eavesdrop and put a hoof on his shoulder. "O...okay," said Eavesdrop as he moved from his corner over to meet the little philly. As he got closer, Violet developed an idea. Now right next to the philly, he spoke. "Hi...", said Eavesdrop, though never fully looking the philly in the eyes.
